I am a director at the Singapore Safety Driving Centre.

What was the business challenge that you were trying to address when you approached Vinova?

As our business has grown considerably through the years, our aging data storage system has become overwhelmed by the volume of student transactions. Our challenge was to upgrade the system for better performance and security.

SOLUTION

Can you talk about the scope of the project, what were the exact services or methodologies Vinova provided or implemented?

The scope of the project included setting up new VM servers, new kiosks, and upgrades to all existing Windows Servers to the latest version. We also migrated our counter system to ASP.net. Vinova has assigned a special team to develop our project and, working together, we have managed to eliminate most of the system issues. Our work productivity has significantly increased.

When working with them, was there anything unique or special about them compared to other companies with which you may have worked?

Vinova’s services are consistently very professional and, in the event of a glitch or other special circumstance, their response is immediate and efficient. The Vinova team is highly qualified and experienced. They are specialists that have the skill sets that are needed to complete projects in a timely manner. Vinova’s flexibility to meet our project requirements at reasonable price really sets them apart from other providers.

Looking back on the project, is there any area that they could improve upon or that you would have them do differently?

Our business relationship with Vinova began when it was founded in 2010, and it has been very successful. We don’t have any complaints. We continue to look forward to building upon that relationship.

I am the creative director at H1 Studios, an interactive and digital media development company.

What was the business challenge that you were trying to address when you approached Vinova?   

We were struggling to find a reliable partner based locally in Singapore that also had an offshore production capability. We wanted the benefits of an onshore service provider, but the cost efficiencies of offshore development. 

SOLUTION

Can you talk about the scope of the project, such as what were the exact services or methodologies Vinova provided or implemented?

Much of the work my firm provides are covered under no disclosure agreements, so I can only provide the general scope of work Vinova has provided. Together, we have designed mobile apps, often partnering with clients' in-house creative teams. After the design phase, we then move on to development. Sometimes, development is mobile only; other times, it is for both mobile and tablet. We develop for both iOS and Android, so the projects can become quite complicated.

We approached Vinova to join as partners in the projects so that we could loop them into the meetings and discussions while still achieving the desired development experience for the H1Studio team.

Can you give us a sense of the size of the project in terms of dollars?     

When you take all of our engagements and combine them, we spent $100,000 to $150,000 for fiscal year 2014 with Vinova.

When working with them, was there anything unique or special about them compared to other companies with which you may have worked?   

The biggest thing that sticks out is their communication style. We were assigned a project director who worked very closely with our team. The project director was at every client meeting, which helped to ensure the same message was disseminated to our production teams. Vinova also gave us access to their project management online Web tool so we were instantly updated on any progress. Through the Web tool, we could give our inputs directly to the production team without having to go back and forth through emails. 

Looking back on the project, is there any area that they could improve upon or that you would do differently?   

Not really. We were quite happy with the outcome and have continued to engage with Vinova for other services.

Vinova helped us with mobile and web application development projects. The team was responsible for UI/UX design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance for mobile apps. Vinova also offered web application development with responsive design, prototyping, and ongoing support.
