I needed help building my application.

They ran the project from start to finish. I had a CTO, initially, who designed the database and TechAvidus did everything from there. They were responsible for .NET core backend development and Angular frontend design.

What is the team composition?

At the peak, we worked with 5–6 people from their team.

How did you come to work with TechAvidus?

We had a pretty extensive search for talent, interviewing over 30 different candidates for the role. We found TechAvidus on Upwork and did double-blinded interviews. My CTO asked technical interview questions and I asked about their soft skills.

Afterward, we compared notes and they came out on top, even before we considered their price. The quality of work they were offering was considerably higher than what they were charging.

We spent roughly $175,000.

We started working together in September 2018, and we wrapped up in December 2020.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

It was relatively simple. I gave them a deadline for deliverables and, in most cases, they delivered what I was asking for. It was fairly fluid because I regularly asked them to complete other tasks in addition to their main assignment. When there were no changes and the deadline was fixed, they were always able to deliver.

How did TechAvidus perform from a project management standpoint?

They were very good. The partners and team leads were always involved and their English was exceptional. The team was very approachable and available. The development team didn’t speak English all the time but I didn’t deal with them on a daily basis. We never had any problems with communication.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They were very talented. The team knew all the technologies and trends. They had the same caliber of knowledge and expertise as some of my nearshore colleagues. Their prices are a fraction of what local agencies charge but their level of experience is comparable.

Are there any areas they could improve?

There were a few hiccups here and there. Especially in the beginning, when we were learning each other’s working style. Otherwise, nothing comes to mind.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

My advice is to communicate with them. They’re very flexible, approachable, and receptive. With other development agencies, communication was brutal. The TechAvidus really listens. If there’s an issue, don’t hide it; talk to the team leads and the partners. They’ll resolve the problem.
