I’m a managing partner at a litigation finance firm. We help people who have been in an accident, have suffered an injury, or have some sort of legal claim with paying bills in the short term. We work with law firms to help these people get by and make sure that they have what they need.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Logismico?

Our business didn’t have any strong, off-the-shelf software for managing our cases and client communications. We needed something that was akin to a CRM program but with a legal feature that could enable us to track the lawsuits that we handle. We had already built a system like this before, but it was getting very old. We engaged Logismico to help us find a solution, whether it was to fix our old system or build a new one.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Logismico first looked into the code of our existing software to determine if it could be fixed. They saw that the system was messed up and pretty antiquated, so they recommended that we build a new one from scratch. 

We spent a lot of time teaching their team about our business, as it is an industry many developers don’t have deep knowledge about. We explained the nature of our work as well as the step-by-step processes that we needed to streamline with using a custom software. 

The new software that they built is cloud-based and posted on Azure, which means we can access it from all around the world. It has the ability to manage and track up to 3,000 individual cases, export reports from Excel, and print pages from documents that we upload for each case. Though it doesn’t utilize Python, it has highly recognizable lines of code that make it easily serviceable by any other developer. 

The software that Logismico developed also partially doubles as a financial tool for us. It could calculate financial information such as discounts, cash received, and concessions granted. This is especially important for our line of business. 

What is the team composition?

We had one main point of contact who interacted with people from our team regularly. We also sometimes interacted with the person behind the support email, which we reach out to for our queries. 

How did you come to work with Logismico?

We came to know each other through a mutual connection. My aunt built the software with another developer, and when we reached out to him, we were told that this job would be perfect for Stefanos (Founder & CTO). That developer connected us with Logismico. 

What is the status of this engagement?

We started talking in January 2020 but began development around August–September 2020. We had a beta version by February 2021 and formally launched the system in April 2021. Logismico has since continued to make improvements and changes to the CRM.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Logismico’s has been critical to our business. The software that we had prior to this engagement was starting to fail, and the fact they were able to develop a new functioning one for us quickly has been materially impactful. The software has become a really helpful tool for how we set up our data.

How did Logismico perform from a project management standpoint?

They stuck to the deadlines well. The communication between us was constant as well, and we were never out of touch especially when it came to tracking the progress of the development. Explaining our business and internal processes was a big time drain on our part, but once Logismico got it, they understood it better than anyone else. It was well worth the time we put into it. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

The most impressive aspect of Logismico’s service is their quick turnaround time on fixes. Whenever we approached them with a problem, a bug, or a change request for a function that didn’t work exactly the way we thought it would, they would have it done within hours. That kind of turnaround time was helpful for me because our business breathes through the software and we wouldn’t be able to operate without it.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They could’ve been a little more proactive at certain points during the development. It would’ve also been helpful if they provided their own honest opinion and suggestions for improvement, as those mostly ever came up in conversations when we wanted some changes. I think those actions would’ve further shown that they really understood our business and what we’re doing. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

A lot of things that just naturally make sense on paper just don’t automatically come into fruition once coded, so it would be intelligent to spend a lot of time going through your business and what you want to achieve with Logismico.

We're a company within a Digital Marketing Agency and we specialize in digital transformation as we create and develop digital experiences for our clients through various technologies, platforms and processes (Custom Web Applications, Websites, Digital Advertisements, etc). We have worked with Logismico in the past on various digital projects. Currently we are working with Logismico on a website redesign project for a Business Improvement District client in NYC. Logismico is responsible for the development of the website using Drupal.

Our goals for this project are to provide our client with a new and improved website redesign. We wanted this new site to be responsive and include enhancements that elevate the current features and content while being user friendly with easy navigation.

The project is a website redesign for one of our clients which is a NYC business improvement district. We have hired Logismico to develop the website based on the designs our internal team has created.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

This new site was built using the newest version of Drupal which has provided a very smooth implementation. The back-end features of which Logismico has been able to solidify and implement have allowed for a ton of client customization. It's great to see how Drupal has advanced and how certain features can really elevate a website.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

Project Mangement has worked seamlessly as we have had in person meetings in our office a weekly or bi-weekly basis as well as communication through our company's slack channels as well as email / phone if needed. Communication has been very effective as the turnaround time has been quite timely. While we haven't launched the site yet, a demo was recently performed and we are about to begin our internal QA. An effective PM / QA testing plan has been put in place by both myself and Logismico in order to keep everything streamlined.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Any deadlines or timelines presented to Logismico have been met thus far and any questions / requirement concerns we have have been addressed with very quick turnarounds.

I don't think much would need to be improved.

This particular project was a data-driven web application/portal. Logismico worked with both our technical staff, PMs, and creative teams to gather requirements, establish a reasonable delivery timeline, as well as provide feedback on designs and user experience.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

The delivery of this project was a huge success. Our interaction with our client, their processes and data through the development of this application has put us a very good position with our client and as a result we are expecting to win several other bids.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

Project management was a combined effort between our internal resources and the folks at Logismico. We maintained an open communication via email, skype, slack, phone and email as well as in-person weekly or bi-weekly meetings.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

I was very impressed with their response time. Whether it was an impromptu meeting, a quick question or a bug that we discovered, all requests were addressed quickly.

Are there any areas for improvement?

The folks at Logismico are very experienced and knowledgeable. My experience with them has always been a positive one and I really don't see much need for improvement. Although, I wish their invoices were more detailed.
