Once selected, I was connected with two developers at the company who were able to walk me through what the process would be and instructed me what to do in order for everything to be set up. Communication was frequent and clear.

There were two main developers I communicated with throughout the process. Both were excellent and were in constant communication with me.

My personal portfolio site looks incredible and will allow me to attract new clients. I would have not been able to design the website without the Free Website Guys.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

I was very impressed with the service and expertise provided by www.thefreewebsiteguys.com. I’d been wanting to create a new artist website for myself for several years, but dreaded having to figure out how to create one on my own.

Sven and his team took care of all of the web building and gave me step-by-step instructions on the next steps at every juncture. They were great about keeping me informed of their progress and keeping the ball rolling. They worked quickly, too—within a couple of weeks, I had a functional website and video instructions on how to add content and visuals to my new website.

I was happy enough that I would have gladly paid for their services, and intend to hire them in the future should I encounter issues I can’t resolve on my own. (And yes, they are the real deal…I actually got a customized website for free!)

Sven Nilson was the main lead connection. His role was the leader developer. However, I was able to see or hear the voice of two other individuals as I watched the videos that guided the step-by-step process that I needed to complete a task.

As soon as the site was published, I was able to connect an outside publication where I was featured. This led to an immediate increase to my site.

As a small business owner, I've been using Squarespace- it gave me the ability to do my own website. However, there is a monthly cost associated with using Squarespace and the look and feel were limited for me. The Free Website Guys offered me the ability to move my website to WordPress- longer term reducing my costs and giving me more opportunities with the plugins WordPress offers.

I came across them on one of the Facebook groups. I've been already thinking about moving my website to WordPress, so this was perfect timing!:)

Once I've reached out to the Free Websites Guys, I've submitted my "application"- detailing the scope of work as well as sharing the aspiration for my company. I appreciated the fact that they were also looking at looking for values or goals alignment.

Once we started the process, at each stage I was guided with videos, email, and handouts for each stage - giving me an understanding of what to expect, what has been done, and what to look forward to. Once my page was ready for me to "take over", I've also received a personalized step by step video so I was supported also at this stage of the project.

I am a sole trader, so it was only me on my end with the main contact on the Free Website Guys.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

I am just about to complete editing of the page for my purposes, however, I can already see the benefits: - better flow of the website - created a shop with Woocommerce integration - events section just as I needed it to be - reduced costs by switching from Squarespace (which were great to start with:))

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Very effective- timely responses, any of my questions or asks was answered, when I needed to delay the progress, we kept it communicated as well and this was accommodated.

What I particularly liked about the process was that my needs and what I may have wanted to know were anticipated by providing regular updates with a walkthrough video and "checklist". It was spot on!

What did you find most impressive about this company?

I consider myself lucky for coming across The Free Website guys when I needed to find ways to save some costs whilst optimizing potentials of what a website may offer. I also think that the way they communicate with their customers is great and the value they deliver. We will happily use their services in the future as our company grows:

The Free Website Guys were very friendly. They always kept in touch and were always responsive. I particularly appreciated the guidance they provided, especially with the instructional videos they sent me along the way of what they were doing and of how to complete certain tasks. Their work was quite speedy as well.

They were exceptional. I’m very flexible, especially when it comes to deadlines, but they were really quick in setting the site up regardless.

I am very pleased with the final product. More importantly they also provided an hand off video with lots of information on how I can make the website mine.

The entire process was superb! The team communicated effectively. If and when I had questions, they promptly responded. I felt that I was the only client that they had .

I was completely blown away that they met each deadline with time to spare. If they said that the next step would be completed by friday, by early friday morning you could expect to see it done.

Having seen my website, Sven reached out to me.

Sven helped me to go through several existing website templates, and after choosing one we exchanged several emails as to what was going to be done and when, as well as things that I had to do take care of myself.

After setting up accounts with Wordpress and such, the rest was a series of steps Sven's group took care of as part of rebuilding the infrastructure. After a few final decisions, the work was complete and I am now modifying the content and doing the finishing touches to go live next week.

I would receive weekly emails with updates and a clear description of the actions that I should take on my side in order to enable them to proceed with the work. It was all very clear and didactic, especially for someone like me who is not familiar with website development.

It has been an incredible journey having The Free Website Guys do my website! Having my website is something that I have been delaying for so long because I was never fully satisfied and confident with what I had put out (on Wix... I know ?) due to my lack of expertise at doing it.

When I had my application accepted and started working with them, I felt straight away that this would be a different story. Sven and his team were very efficient and super didactic every time they needed me to take action and set up some settings on my end so that they could move on with the work. I liked their approach. While their model may be 'free', I was completely willing to purchase additional products where they also received affiliate commission for.

They guided me through a step by step process where I felt completely in control of everything. And they made it really easy. I would be asked to choose a layout, then colours, then name, then plugins, then CRM, etc.

Their turned around time was reasonable per each step and allowed me to not feel rushed or pressured. Finally they closed the project with a well documented report laying out all of the steps they completed, along with a full tutorial video on how to manage my website.

I worked directly with Sven, Lead Developer. Then one team member walked me through the operations of my website.

Almost every task had a week or less turn around time.

I was able to freely pick the options that best worked for me. Sven would often check-in and always made sure the system was flowing smoothly and effectively.

They are the real deal. At first, I was sceptical about them especially considering it was free. They were completely honest about where they would get paid (within affiliate fees).

They provided free options, as well as paid options so I felt in full control. Everything rolled out exactly as they said it would. It was a well-oiled machine.
