We needed someone to build a custom software that’s specific to my industry.

What was the scope of their involvement?

They’ve fulfilled four of their deliverables in relation to custom software development, where they mainly focused on the technical aspect of building the website. They used Node.js on the backend and React on the frontend. Moreover, I provided some documentation, requirements, as well as content for the About and Legal pages.

I’m still in process with Brainium Information Technologies, as we work towards the last stage of the projects — we’re doing some last-minute cleanups and audits.

We’re impressed with their communication skills and their understanding of meeting deadlines. There will always be obstacles for any project, but because they’re able to communicate clearly every step of the way, it really helps overcome the issues that we go through. Overall, it’s been a positive experience working with Brainium.

No, because I’m satisfied with their services. They’re always on top of their game in terms of what needs to be done and improved on.

I would suggest reading reviews prior to hiring a company. That’s what I did when I decided to go with Brainium to build my site. I would also suggest shopping other companies before going to them, because they’re really reasonable in terms of their pricing.

The scope was a complex data-based app. We had the key deliverables of our logo, website, and mobile app for IOS and Android. The technologies that they used are react-native for the app development, and they communicated with us via basecamp and zoom. The project steps included many planning virtual meetings with the website being developed first. They sent us wireframes which we were to edit and return, they reworked them, and then we approved. They did the same for the real website, and then for the mobile apps in a few rounds. They gave us great access to achieve our product perfection and dreams.

A project manager, Samik, was our main point of contact, and he did a fantastic job moving the product along and explaining everything to my partner and me, who are not tech or code-savvy. The team, however, consisted of a front-end and backend developer, and more.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

The measurable outcomes that we have had thus far are mostly great satisfaction from F&F, as we are not going to market yet, as our business plan has us searching other routes. However, everyone that we have shown have been impressed with the quality, functionality, and design of the application.

Samik, our product manager, worked with us very often over basecamp and google meet. He was very timely in his responses and returned work to us quickly.

Most impressive was their willingness to go the extra mile to assist us and make sure our product was perfect in our eye. They were very helpful to make sure that we loved what they were creating.

I cannot think of anything at the moment, as we had a great experience.

Brainium Information Technologies developed a WordPress website and an iOS- and Android-friendly mobile app based on the proposal and wireframes we provided. The mobile app served as a music-sharing platform and an avenue for individuals who wanted to share their talents in different fields. We also set up studios where individuals could practice in groups or by themselves and opened these to the public to accommodate performances. Brainium Information Technologies also integrated a payment feature that allowed users to purchase the songs from the performances they liked. The app would then automatically take 10% of the earnings and credit 90% of it to the performer.

We have daily video calls with our developers as well as fortnightly meeting with our account manager. We used Trello, Slack & Bitbucket to co-ordinate.

They have a very good team of developers & project managers who really cared about our product! They offer a competitive rate with a personal touch. Stand out in terms of overall professionalism and service. Highly recommend.

When we first connected some minor communication / coordination issues with developers however this was resolved quickly.

Our company was looking for a service provider that specializes in e-commerce solutions. Finding an effective and reliable service provider was quite challenging. Especially during lockdown and having to do business remotely via Skype, email and WhatsApp. Brainium was one of the providers that met the requirements, and we were very happy with their help even before we decided who our service provider would be. Aditi Malo (Business Development Executive) from Brainium is very knowledgeable and went out of her way to make the choice easy for us. Brainium is affordable, provides excellent service and has taken us seamlessly from concept to completion.

We briefed the team via WhatsApp and Skype and Brainium was responsible for server setup (3 sandboxes - dev, training, live). They also did adaptation to our existing marketplace/estores as well as custom development - both frontend and backend. Tasks are briefed in, and Brainium keep detailed timesheets of tasks done. It goes through a QC process before we go live.

Brainium assisted us in setting up a very professional marketplace and e-stores. It gives us a competitive edge.

Brainium has an open-door policy and we have a direct line of communication with any of the team members. Brainium are meeting their deadlines and we mostly communicate via Skype and email.

Even though we are two companies situated in different continents, it has never felt that we could not reach them. We operate seamlessly and love the fact that we can speak directly with our developer and brief him directly.

Each company and project is different - so it works 100% for us.

What challenge were you trying to address with Brainium Information Technologies?

I needed to develop a prototype of my idea and concept at a cheap price, so I hired Brainium.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Brainium developed a basic gratitude app for Android and iOS. It allows users to provide and receive instant feedback. For instance, if a person who is buying coffee, dining in a restaurant, or staying at a hotel notices that the staff are working very well, that person can send gratitude to the workers through the app to say well done. The app encourages the user to give feedback about what they felt at that very moment and instantly express their thanks.

Brainium also integrated a proximity feature in the app which only allows users to send feedback to a worker if the recipient is within 10–15 meters. This ensures that the compliment is genuine and that the user has actually witnessed or experienced the service of the staff members. They also gave me some insight into how we would make the technology work with Bluetooth.

We’re now working on the next stage of development, which will involve building an in-app function for sending tips and vouchers.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

I’m quite happy with what I’ve gotten. I’m not really a tech person but Brainium has helped me create an affordable product that I could share with other businesses. They’ve even educated me a little bit about the process. I’ve learned a lot as we progressed through the project.

I initially thought that we would complete the project in 3–6 months, but I became so busy with work that I couldn’t check on anything unless it was my day off. Still, we kept in touch, and I was still cool with the fact that we took more time than expected. It’s allowed me to get a better understanding of things and has given me time to read about the tech industry and app development. 

How did Brainium Information Technologies perform from a project management standpoint?

Even though they are based in India and I am in the UK, they’re quite good at responding as quickly as possible. It’s sometimes difficult to understand their accents over the phone, but overall, the communication has been pretty okay. 

We reach each other via email or WhatsApp. The manager also sometimes calls in just to see how things are going.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I’m impressed that they’re able to find workarounds for certain situations. They’ve been very patient with me since I couldn’t understand technical jargon and have been working full-time. We’ve managed to slowly understand each other and get things going. I think it has all worked out well 

Are there any areas they could improve?

A video call to go through the project in more detail would be good. Especially now that I have more understanding, talking would be important in getting across what I want. Some things can get lost in translation or can be difficult to describe through email. A one-on-one video chat, however, would be much easier.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Brainium is willing to take on the challenge of building something that has never been done before. Even if you're not a technically knowledgeable person, as long as you know what you want, they will work with you to get it done.

We were really happy with the project deliverables all the discussed documents well exchanged by the vendor. Really appreciate the way they had delivered the project along with all user manuals and other knowledge transfer required. We totally gained in working hours which we spent earlier for the same work which we now doing with this APP.

From our side its very tough to pin point any improvement area or something like that but yes as per some suggestion i would like to tell them that need to increase the presence of the company in terms of more offices in major cities. As we never developed an app, the challenge was double as we needed to make an app and get used to the development environment. But Branium has a very professional team to help step by step.

The main goal was to have a simple app, which can give you information on your energy consumption and on the other hand provides us the possibility to have an extra tool to be on the radar of our customers.

We did a research of many companies in India. In fact our first target was to work directly with India and not through some company who then anyway outsource it in India. We wanted to go to the source. After a pre-selection based on internet information and review we asked quotations to a couple of companies. Branium gave the best feeling as they communicated fast, organized and professional in this stage. Also Branium was ready to agree on a fixed fee for a fixed scope of work. Much better then uncontrolable hour rates on long distance.

The app in real is a first main screen where you have various choices. You can either calculate a sterilization value. In real this is not a real calculation, there you set a number of conditions which give you an result for your process. Another choice gives you the possiblity to estimate your energy consumptions. So by giving in your real information on your situation, the system then calculates your consumption. The other choice is to download our brochure or to get in touch with us over the app.

From our side it was myself and the marketing manager involved in the first stage, in the last stage also the sales team was on the team to give their feedback and request for eventual modifications. Branium executed this till the final last drop we asked for them. Free of charge ! No games, no hidden items, all transparent and professional. From Branium, after the sales stage we had a fixed contact person who introduced the right persons at the right moment, but we always remained to have the contact person all the way.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

What we can share is that our app is downloaded really Worldwide. We are amazed from which areas we see downloads, really, we did not expect that. It means we become known in a much more far reaching area which results in inquiries for our projects. Inquiries we would never have without our app.

Very efficient. What more can I say. The Branium team was available day and night and items went forward fast.

The speed of communication and quality of the work. What also is impressive is the availability of the staff whenever you need them. Ah and the fact they finish till it is really finished.

After designing it, the development phase commenced. Users can hail ambulances through the app. After deployment, Brainium now handles support, taking care of any functional or operational issues.
