From an industry perspective, Beetroot AB's expertise, knowledge, and competency are excellent. The administrative tasks have been highly straightforward thanks to Beetroot AB.

We've seen a significant cost reduction of about 60%. We've retained 100% of the staff we've hired through Beetroot AB, experienced zero performance issues, and the quality of their work has met our expectations.

We've had 10–12 meetings at Beetroot AB's facilities, which they've hosted, allowing us to bring in customers and other guests. Beetroot AB's work has met our expectations.

I'm the e-commerce manager at Åtta45, the biggest printing company in Sweden and the Nordic area.

We needed support for our ongoing WordPress project.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Beetroot AB has been providing web development services. Initially, we were working on keeping our main site in order, but our cooperation evolved into a larger project where we rebuilt our WordPress and WooCommerce sites. We've used the old framework and have our own in-house art director and editor.

Our website is the window for our services, and we have seven different business areas. We've wanted to give our website a more modern look and added motion pictures. When users enter our website, they get a pop-up with a movie that explains our business terms and services. They can also navigate to our WooCommerce Boutique and all our different services and send files to us to secure servers.

The team has also worked on our WooCommerce site. They’ve sorted out API connections to a big supplier, where we can display all the products and then go to our MIS system. This lets us update schedules, products, prices, and order flows.

They've offered hosting services, but that service is expensive for us now; we might be changing our actual partner in the future.

We're in daily contact with Anastasiia, the WordPress developer, and Dmytro, the full stack developer, but they work with a business contact support teammate, so we work with three people.

They've been good at following our needs. They've also provided suggestions and workarounds, which resulted in good cooperation.

How did Beetroot AB perform from a project management standpoint?

We use Asana as our project management tool and communicate via checkup meetings through Microsoft Teams. We've had no problems with staying on budget. Meeting deadlines is difficult in web projects because of changes, and we often find out we want something else. However, we've had constant cooperation towards deadlines, which could be for every functionality or on the whole. We had a big launch on the 27th of December, and everything has worked out fine.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They have order in their process. They follow up on an hourly basis, and I've never complained about an invoice because it follows what we agreed on. They also work a lot, so we can communicate late at night.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, they should keep up the good work.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Asana has been a good help, so I recommend using a project management tool to communicate since we’re in different countries and speak different languages.

I’m a data delivery manager at a scale-up in Sweden that helps machines understand the world around them. Our primary focus is on autonomous vehicles. As a data delivery manager, my job is to handle our different labeling suppliers around the world.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Beetroot AB has integrated our team to help us with data labeling. Our clients need a lot of data labeled, which can be different data sets from cameras, LiDARs, radars, or other sensors. Labeling this data includes making boxes and specifying what the object is, such as a car, a traffic sign, or a traffic light. We then feed that data back into the machine learning algorithm so it can learn based on the labeled data.

Initially, Beetroot AB labeled the data, but now we use them as quality managers for other companies that label data. When clients need to label data, we work with them to understand the use case and what they need it for.

Furthermore, the requirements can differ depending on whether the vehicle will drive on a highway or slowly in a city environment. We help clients understand what data they need and which requirements are required to label it.

We ensure that there are clear guidelines for labeling the data and that the guidelines are shared with the team when doing so. Usually, Beetroot AB is part of providing feedback on the guidelines and teaching the labeling teams how to work with that specific guideline. Lately, they have mostly been helping us with quality management and QA.

I have weekly interactions with the entire team, but I mostly talk to three people: the account manager, an HR manager, and a team lead.

We began with a robust discovery process that resulted in a proposed roadmap, technology stack, timeline, and budget. This helped set the course and priorities for the project, with a targeted MVP in December 2024.

During the project, the Beetroot team began by reviewing numerous spreadsheets, calculators, and program standards to understand how we deliver our work. Consuming this information, they developed an integrated webplatform that moves all of this information from across multiple spreadsheets, files, and reference guides, into one singular platform. The result is that our project managers can see all of their projects and documentation in one place, quickly move throughout the project without opening/closing files, and interact with project data in a seamless way. 
This was a totally, customized and bespoke platform that works to serve a fairly niches industry, and as such, there was nothing on the market that met our needs.

Beetroot had a dedicated Project Manager throughout the project who managed the team, schedule, and interactions with us. She was a singular point of contact for any issue that we had, and she would distribute information or requests to her team, and provide a consolidated response which kept things efficient. This was also very helpful from the standpoint that we didn't have experience with this type of project, and wouldn't always know who a question should be directed to.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

I was really impressed at the effort they put into understanding the technical delivery of our business program. They had a business analyst involved with the project that learned enough about it that it actually felt like she could be a consultant within the program. What that meant to us was that it didn't feel like we had to spend an inordinate amount of time explaining how the program works. It also resulted in her being able to understand our intent, even when we couldn't always provide the direction. She became a really important liaison between what we needed to accomplish with the business, and how that translated to the software platform. 

Are there any areas for improvement or something Beetroot AB could have done differently?

After deploying the first version of the software platform, we had some unclear expectations for when updates would be made, and how that would be communicated with the team. However, we resolved that together by developing a sprint-schedule, inclusive of feedback, and better defined the roadmap for version updates. So they reacted to the feedback really well and constructively.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Beetroot AB specializes in app development. Initially, we were thinking of developing a solution for both iOS and Android, but we ended up only developing it for Android. The main deliverable was an end-to-end integration with our banking partners.

First, we provided Beetroot AB with a brief to start the project. We came into the project with the business and technical needs, so the scope was set. Since then, Beetroot AB has built the Android app from scratch, including the technical integration and the UI. Their work has included designing the technical solution, but we've provided the UX designers. 

What is the team composition?

We've worked with one Android developer and an account manager from Beetroot AB. When we started the project, we were talking about having a full team from their company, but we only met with one developer due to our financial abilities. They also provided us with a person competent enough to do the full delivery by himself, which was very cost-efficient for us.

Although I wasn't part of my company when the project started, I know that Beetroot AB is fairly locally famous in Sweden. Although they have their business in Ukraine, they're quite famous in Sweden because they have Swedish owners.

We've spent around $8,000 per month for the last three years. In total, we've spent between $200,000–$900,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

The project started around October 2021, and it's ongoing. However, I didn't join the project until January 2022. We started launching the app as a standalone app. However, we've decided to combine it with our existing app instead.

This has been a fairly complex technical delivery since it is a bank integration. Still, Beetroot AB has delivered on time and achieved a fairly autonomous and professional delivery.

How did Beetroot AB perform from a project management standpoint?

Beetroot AB has been very agile. The developer was initially incorporated into an Agile team, so we've established a normal Agile team delivery setup with regular feedback on delivery. We've used Microsoft Teams, Jira, and Slack for project management and communication. We've had one-on-one biweekly meetings with the developer.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Beetroot AB's competence and flexibility have been impressive. They have a skilled developer and a very easy and flexible account manager. Our dialogue has been effortless, and by working with them, we have the ability to scale our team up and down as needed.

Regarding technologies and tools, the team uses React, TypeScript, JavaScript, C#, and Python. In terms of UI/UX design, the teammates create mock-ups and suggest how the pages should look so the development team can take care of implementing their designs.

We needed expertise in frontend development, mainly related to UX. In our field, there was a significant adoption barrier for AI and ML tools, and we needed support developing interfaces for our clients.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Beetroot AB provides HR services and has supported us in developing our platform. Initially, we provided Beetroot AB with a concept document of what we wanted to communicate to our users and what we expected from them. Then, Beetroot AB supported with concept design, wireframes, and the final solution. 

Beetroot AB has worked on web and mobile development using AngularJS, and they’ve also created special design elements like animations. Beetroot AB also sources personnel when we need to expand our team.

We work with a dedicated team of four developers from Beetroot AB, as well as a project manager and an HR professional, a total of six teammates. We’ve also interacted with other Beetroot AB teammates for financial negotiations.

I met Beetroot AB’s CEO at the university. He later founded Beetroot AB and told me he had great personnel for this project. I had interviews with Beetroot AB’s team and selected them.

We’ve spent around €100,000–€200,000 (approximately $106,000– $211,000 USD) yearly with Beetroot AB.

We began working with Beetroot AB in December 2015, and we’re still working with them.

Beetroot AB has been a key partner in developing our platform — they’re a user-centered team, which is very important for us. Beetroot AB’s work impact has been valuable over the years because they’ve helped us develop the platform we present to the world. 

How did Beetroot AB perform from a project management standpoint?

Most of the project management work is managed on our side. Beetroot AB has a project manager, although they work in close collaboration with our internal team; this way, we mitigate the risk of going over budget. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Beetroot AB quickly finds and presents good candidates for our company. Beetroot AB also has an excellent internal culture that makes people very loyal to their external providers, which has resulted in a good relationship with all the team members we’ve worked with. 

Additionally, Beetroot AB has an education academy where they constantly develop new talent, which is very unique. The talent Beetroot AB provides is very skillful and up-to-date with technologies. I hadn’t seen the same extent with other service providers. Beetroot AB even suggests updates for our company regarding technologies when they’re training their team in a new tool.

Are there any areas they could improve?

The only thing Beetroot AB can improve is having more transparency regarding taxes and other budget fees. Although the team hasn’t been over budget, it’s not always clear what our fees are for.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

I recommend not spending much time evaluating many companies and going directly to Beetroot AB frontend development and UI/UX design projects. Beetroot AB’s team is loyal and skillful enough to help their clients even if they don’t have the complete documentation or scope yet.
