Citrusbug’s project management approach was structured yet flexible. They maintained clear timelines and were disciplined in their delivery, but at the same time, they demonstrated genuine responsiveness whenever we raised new priorities. For example, when we identified a need to expand the integration between our system and an external partner’s database earlier than initially planned, they were quick to adjust the roadmap without compromising the quality of the existing work. Their communication was steady and reassuring, which gave us confidence throughout the process.

Honestly, I can't think of any. Any minor issues that came up (and every project has them) were immediately addressed and followed up on. Citrusbug Technolabs simply does an amazing job.

Overall, project fell behind timeline shortly but this was to be expected since this was a build from scratch project. They were super fast to respond and address any and all roadblocks.

The product development was followed exactly as outlined in the project proposal document. There was very thorough communication and tracking of progress throughout the development process. I always knew what was being worked on and the weekly virtual meetings allowed us to give feedback and plan for the week ahead. Everyone I dealt with was very professional.

The management of the project was one of the things they excelled at the most. All tasks were logged into jira so they could be followed easily by myself. We also had weekly virtual meetings where a demonstration of works completed that week would be provided, and plans for the next week of development would be agreed upon. I always knew what was being worked on at all times.

The scope of work included several critical components aimed at creating a cohesive ecosystem for students, educators, and administrators. Here's a summary of the key deliverables: 

• Flutter App Development: Citrusbug Technolabs was tasked with developing a cross-platform mobile application using Flutter. This app was designed to be user-friendly, allowing students to easily navigate through various SEL activities, mood check-ins, and mindfulness exercises. The use of Flutter ensured a seamless experience across both iOS and Android devices. 
• Web App for Educators and Students: The project included the development of distinct web applications for both educators and students. The educator's web app allows teachers to monitor the emotional well-being of their students, access analytics, and receive alerts for students who may need additional support. Conversely, the student's web app provides a platform for engagement with SEL content, tracking their emotional growth, and accessing resources for emotional support. 
• Web Admin Panel: A crucial component of the project was the development of a web-based admin panel. While continuous improvement is always possible, Citrusbug Technolabs' approach and outcomes have set a high standard.

 They did not deliver a working build for Authentication via Email (firebase token) nor Facebook social login.

No. They did not deliver on time. At the 4 week mark of same task for User Authentication I began to question the progress and the manager Ishan would brush it off as normal and stated that standard user Authentication was now going to be at least 200 hours. I was appalled as I had others estimating 4-20 hours with my tech stack (stated above).

They have many hours billed on Upwork platform. But now in hindsight I see that they are able to hide/dismiss bad feedback and this has enabled them to continue with only positive feedback being displayed to clients. 

Are there any areas for improvement or something Citrusbug Technolabs could have done differently?

Absolutely. First they never assigned the proper contractor for the job! After nearly 3 months (344 hours) I questioned if their Sr. Dev. Viki (who we contracted) was truly experienced with the skill set listed and this is when I discovered material information that the manager and CEO of Citrusbug Technolabs.  
Ishan never actually assigned the work to Viki but another person Aarohi and it became quite evident that not only was this NOT the person we hired, but they were not even qualified sr. dev. We got burned badly and actually have damages amongst the lost time.

We looked for outsource software development company that will fit the required quality and budget limitation.

We designed together the platform architecture, decided on the right technology and identified the right developer for the work. Then we build some high-level milestones and broke down the work to steps. After the planing phase, we have started to build the backend infrastructure that included devops work. We developed the web application using Python (Django), and front was was done by HTML.

4 people - Fullstack, architect, html developer and Devops.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

We developed a big scale web platform on time. During the work there was a need to overcome unexpected design complexity which caused a small delay in schedule, but it was acceptable due to changes that were done during the work.

The project included daily updates, weekly status meeting and additional technical support and advice of senior professionals in order to solve the challenges during the work.

They are true professionals and delivered the work as expected. The availability and transparency during the work was remarkable. Also when we faced challenges that caused us to change the work and timelines, we always felt in good hands.

I am a junior front-end developer at the market research team of Cefetra Group B.V.. In this company we trade agri-culture commodities and handle the trades.

We wanted to develop a web app and mobile app for our market analytics products to use internally and externally. This had to be done in less than a year. We do not have enough developers and designers to build the apps in that time frame. So, we were looking for a team who could help us.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

Citrusbug had a complete team ready to help us. They also have experience in web and app development.

We started with designing the web app. We had a lot of iterations before starting with the development, but that was mostly because of my boss that kept changing the designs. At some point we just started to develop, which went fine. We wanted to use React.js and the program must be able to view multiple HTML pages in one view. Citrusbug and us have build an excellent solution for that using Microsoft Azure.

A CTO acted as a project manager in this project. There were about 5 developers who worked with us, a designer and a tester.

After launching our website and application more than 100 users started using our web app. Everyone was impressed by the looks and usability.
