Pro bono services, though a cornerstone of industries such as law, have not yet become a widespread practice in the IT and tech space. In regards to community or global support, IT and tech firms often focus on traditional volunteer activities, such as donating items or participating in local causes for a day, rather than offering their specialized skills pro bono. This indicates that many IT firms haven't yet considered pro bono work as a method of giving back to their communities.
Business service providers should consider offering pro bono services to nonprofits, as these organizations often struggle with developing and maintaining their own websites, utilizing advanced data analytics, and ensuring cybersecurity due to a lack of specific talent. By stepping in to fill these gaps, service providers can make a meaningful social impact, enhance their corporate social responsibility profile, and potentially cultivate future business opportunities as these non-profits grow and succeed.
That’s why Clutch is proud to partner with Tech To The Rescue to connect more tech providers who are developing innovative technologies with non-profits that could benefit from pro bono services, fostering a collaborative environment where cutting-edge solutions meet real-world needs.

Mike Beares, Clutch Founder and Chairman sat down with Jacek Siadkowski, CEO of Tech To The Rescue to discuss how professional services companies can benefit from weaving pro-bono work into their business strategy.
There are several key benefits companies can reap from offering pro bono services. One of the strongest benefits is the ability to build strong relationships with people worldwide and leverage skills to do social good for those in need.
“Working with people around the globe, I believe, can reduce the potential for conflict over time,” said Beares. “It’s thrilling to me that we can have a positive impact. The main goal here is to help buyers and service providers meet business goals, but the human stories are the icing on the cake.”
Pro bono work in this sector allows service providers to:
Moreover, the positive outcomes of pro bono work extend to the business’s reputation and client relations. In fact, recent survey results confirm that “72% of B2B buyers are more likely to purchase from companies that do well on socio-political issues they consider important.”
