As part of delivering multi-platform projects, we recognised that we did not have in-house expertise to complete mobile native user Apps, and chose to work with an independent partner to fill this requirement.

Another, local App developer recommended Whizpool, having previously collaborated on a project. Our initial conversations presented an enthusiastic response, tempered with a good understanding of our requirements. They  positively pushed-back on approach and feasibility, the latter with regard to technologies and budget. This is what impressed most.

The initial project was delivered for iOS at agreed milestones over a 3 month period, with client-driven changes in scope well managed. Subsequent engagements included functional enhancements, operating system revision updates and a full port to Android.

Our in-house project manager coordinated in-house server-side developers with Whizpool application developers.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The App was launched to market and was subsequently acquired by another software firm.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Both teams shared access to source management and task tracking tools. Time difference occasionally proved challenging, but in the main, both sets of developers could communicate effectively, supported with the occasionally conference call. In

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Their early understanding of the project requirements made for a productive start to the project, and the proactive suggestions about a more efficient design approach helped deliver a strong user experience and keep the programme on track.

Are there any areas for improvement?

There always is! But in practice, even junior developers were well supported and when stuck, the senior developers rowed in to get the problem solved.

Whizpool was tasked to work with fringe technologies while building our Android application.

Our Android application is built and working, all within 6 months. The project scope grew as progress was made and Whizpool accommodated the changing structure without so much as a hiccup.

The ability to work with new technologies that are evolving quickly sets them apart. This forced our team to innovate in real-time.

Minute List took the 5 minute process of photographing and listing an item on eBay and cut it down to 30 seconds using a mobile app directing connected to eBay set of API's. With mobile, we were able to be the first product that implemented video into eBay listings.

Project manager with project management software for designing the app, designing the backend architecture and programmers coding.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Minute List It was the first fully functioning mobile app of it's kind. The application scaled seamlessly as our user base of eBay powersellers began listing their products using our app. Within the first year we had 1,000's of users uploading video listings.

Using professional project management software made the entire process a seamless experience. From design to beta testing, there were no major issues along the way.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

The team at Whizpool is very genuine. The team operates with transparency and kindness.

If anything, their level of professionalism improved our team organization.

What were your goals for this project?

Our goals were to develop a lifestyle app for a broad range of users that required the capture of everyday events, activities across many facets of life. The primary vision for the app was to provide a ready database of memories that can be quickly retrieved/recalled when required.

How did you select this vendor?

Whizpool was selected from a list of 4 potential developers. We contacted past clients and discussed Whizpools capabities with these clients. Based on references, we decided to engage Whizpool for Version 1.0 of our App

Following acceptance of a Proposal, we set up Skype Groups for each platform. A detailed Specs document as submitted to the development team - which they used to code the app.

Daily skype discussions with the development team ensured there was full communication along each step of the development lifecycle. Test versions are submitted frequently and due to rapid feedback we have been able to meet timeframe expectations

What was the team composition?

The team at Whizpool consists of developers and one QA. Project business analysis, design, specificaton development is done by our own team at base.

This project is in progress hence we cannot comment on its success yet

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Workflow is effective as we are on Skype to the development team daily. The team and team manager are highly responsive. They go out of their way to resolve urgent issues no matter what time of the day it is.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

We are impressed with their ability and willingness to be an extension of our base team. They are readily available on skype to discuss all bugs etc and nothing is too much trouble for this team. They consider our projects their own.

Are there any areas for improvement?

The only area of improvement is quality - assurance. This is common for most development teams across the globe though.

I'm the founder of Destina, a media company that provides AI-powered astrology content via mobile apps.

What challenge were you trying to address with Whizpool?

We needed help with the development of our astrology apps for iOS and Android.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Whizpool developed a powerful backend with Node.js, the UI and UX of the app, and cross-platform mobile apps for both iOS and Android. They also created a web panel for reviewing, editing, and managing content, as well as OpenAI integration for generating content.

Whizpool swiftly developed the complicated backend, web panel, and OpenAI integration, along with all necessary APIs. While I was fine-tuning GPT, they developed the frontend. It was an effective strategy for both of us.

The backend calculated astrology data for each user, created prompts with structured metadata, and communicated with OpenAI to generate content. It also implemented logic for subscriptions, one-time payments, and advertisements. The web panel allowed users to review all data for all astrology metadata and content and send prompts to GPT individually or in batches.

We worked with five people from Whizpool.

I found them on Freelancer.com. I chose Whizpool because of their previous work, work ethic, trustworthiness, and communication. You will understand what I mean if you meet Zeeshan - the manager of Whizpool.

We spent $24,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together from November 2024 to July 2025.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Whizpool delivered 2 multi-lingual mobile apps with good design, frontend, complicated backend, API integrations, and paywalls, all working as intended. The app is still in closed beta, but I believe it will be a worldwide success.

How did Whizpool perform from a project management standpoint?

Whizpool's project management was excellent. We had planned most of the work before development started, which is why the development process was very smooth. During development, I changed some features we had agreed upon during initial conversations, but they adopted very quickly. They knew what they should do, so everything was easy for me.

Initially, we used Skype for communication, but we transitioned to Microsoft Teams in May 2025, after Skype is longer available (Rest in peace Skype).

What did you find most impressive about them?

Whizpool understood the complicated needs of an astrology app and quickly adopted what was necessary. They developed a backend, two apps, a web panel, related APIs, and paywalls in seven months with never-ending dedication.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, everything was great.

For what projects/services did your company hire Whizpool, and what were your goals?

We wanted to build a mobile app to provide range of retail products and services to the worldwide community. The app would have multiple modules offered from the same platform.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We shortlisted 7 vendors, went through detailed vetting process followed by the interview process based on RFP that was submitted to all vendors. Our main focus was to find a mobile app development partner who can understand our unique business requirements, understand our customers from diverse back grounds from different parts of the world and build relationship with so the UX and UI reflects the habits and needs of our customer base.

The project was to provide multiple modules from the same mobile app portal. It therefore has various challenges in modelling and integrating between them, managing alerts, notifications, message threads, and moving on to next steps UX/UIs within the app based on in-app notifications. One of the key ask was to manage interaction between the users based on in-app notifications. Whizpool managed this part exceptionally well and kept the UX flow precise, relevant and interesting for the users.

For some of the notifications we needed to call various APIs, and data contents needed enrichment. One very special feature was to have advertising space with in the app functions.

How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

We needed a full team deployment including, UX and UI designers, Android developers and iOS developers, project manager, and most importantly direct support and monitoring from the senior management of Whizpool.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

The app has been built with two active modules. The design and development was managed within the budget even though the timeline was compromised on a few occasions due to some dependencies. But the commitment to delivery of the Whizpool team was excellent. A close working relationship with all resources and the management was the key to success, in addition to high level of professionalism, meeting project timelines, providing updates and willingness to adapt to any changes helped us immensely to achieve what we have achieved so far.

The team managed to collate requirements and produce quick design prototypes for playback. We used Agile and traditional project management approach combined for the best results to suit our needs. They meet deadlines on every occasion while providing regular updates and playbacks.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Whizpool's commitment to delivery and take the project to its ultimate delivery goal was fantastic and was ensured by the management right from the beginning. I must admit this was for us a sigh of relief to hear upfront and then a joy and satisfaction as we see this from Whizpool as the project progressed and delivered.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Absolutely, the organisation needs to grow by hiring more high quality UI designers along with the app testers. Any support for app marketing expertise will be really helpful. More attention is also needed on the Agile delivery perhaps.

We need a system with the following features:

1. Remote monitoring of pump signals and remote control of the pump operations at both the ground floor pump room and rooftop booster pump room
2. A Graphical User Interface (GUI), web management platform, or equivalent, that allows remote user access to monitor data, and also send control signals to affect the pump operations of the blocks, where applicable.
3. A dedicated connectivity service to provide for 2-way data transmission of monitoring and control data between backend servers and the system on site.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We found them through a freelancing marketplace. After the conversation that I had with Zeeshan was what convinced me.

We need a GUI to allow authorized users to remotely access the monitoring and control data from the Smart Pump Monitoring and Control System. The remote access of authorized users are through a smartphone application (in iOS and Android), and through any web browser via the Internet. Some of the functions that the authorized users able to perform on this user interface:

1. Admin privileges
2. View pump data collected
3. Send control signals to pumps

We worked with a team of professionals consisting of UI, UX designers, programmers, and project manager, who advised both on technological issues and supervised the quality of project implementation.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

We're in the process of getting feedback on the system, so it's an evolving project. When there were bugs, they put an extra effort in addressing them immediately. The customers who have used the system report that it works properly and they like the look and feel of it.
