I’m the founder of Aurora, a local e-commerce platform that enables merchants to run digital shops and customers to easily discover and order products in one place.

What specific goals or objectives did you hire Vagary to accomplish for your local e-commerce platform?

Initially, I wanted a simple mobile app. However, step by step, this project has become a fully managed company by Vagary. They now handle the development and maintenance of the mobile app, the admin and merchant web management dashboards, and the graphic designs, including the UI/UX of the mobile app and the designs of the social media posts.
Moreover, Vagary is responsible for the video creation of the reels and TikToks on Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok. They also manage the sales, with a dedicated team that reaches out to merchants to get them to subscribe to our platform. This team also manages the digital marketing of the platform on the social media accounts and the ad campaigns on both Meta and TikTok.
Additionally, Vagary has a dedicated consultant who keeps studying the market and suggests new ideas to stay up to the market standards and keep improving the platform. This consultant also helps with the business side of the platform, such as how to make money and how to learn from the customer feedback.

What was the scope of their involvement?

The scope of the project has evolved from building a simple mobile application into a fully managed end-to-end platform. Vagary has delivered a complete multi-vendor marketplace ecosystem. The mobile app includes customer product discovery, merchant shop pages, categorized listings, ordering and checkout flows, user authentication, personalized home feeds, filtering, and push notifications to drive engagement.
The merchant web dashboard enables vendors to onboard, manage their profiles, create and update products, track inventory, handle orders, monitor sales performance, and manage subscriptions. In parallel, the admin dashboard provides full platform control, including merchant approvals, category and content management, order oversight, issue resolution, and operational analytics.
Moreover, Vagary has handled complete UI/UX design across the product, ensuring a consistent and scalable user experience. The team also works on ongoing feature optimization based on user behavior. Beyond development, the scope has expanded to include brand and marketing execution, covering graphic design, social media creatives, and video production for platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok.
Sales operations are also managed, with a dedicated outreach team onboarding merchants and driving subscriptions. Digital marketing campaigns are planned and executed across Meta and TikTok Ads. Additionally, the project includes ongoing market research and product consulting, with continuous analysis of user feedback, monetization strategies, and feature improvements to keep the platform competitive.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The project has shown clear progress by transforming Aurora from an early idea into an actively operating marketplace with real merchant adoption and growing user engagement. Vagary has helped establish a strong local brand presence, streamline merchant onboarding, and improve operational efficiency by managing development, marketing, and sales under one team. 
These outcomes validate early product–market fit and position the platform for scalable, conversion-focused growth.So far, the platform has reached 102 merchants and around 1,000 products. We also have around 400 users, and that’s only within 1.5 months of launching the marketing campaign. Prior to that, almost no one heard about us. 
On TikTok, we have over 500,000 views on our videos, and people in the area we’re launching in are getting to know Aurora, which is amazing.
Moreover, we’ve started to see early revenue impact following the platform launch and marketing efforts. Merchant subscriptions began shortly after onboarding started, validating willingness to pay and confirming early product–market fit. While the primary focus during the initial phase was awareness and supply-side growth, the increase in active merchants and user activity has created a clear sales pipeline, with transactions beginning to take place on the platform.
The current results indicate strong early momentum, with revenue now transitioning from initial validation toward more structured, conversion-driven growth. Beyond growth metrics, we also evaluate ongoing success through the quality and consistency of Vagary’s software development process. Vagary works with clear milestones, structured releases, and a strong focus on stability and maintainability.
Progress is measured by reliable feature delivery, low post-release issues, fast turnaround on fixes and improvements, and the ability to continuously evolve the platform based on real merchant and user feedback. This process has resulted in steady improvements without disrupting operations, indicating a scalable and well-managed development approach.

How did Vagary perform from a project management standpoint?

Vagary’s project management is very organized and easy to work with. They deliver on time and keep everything clear and transparent throughout the process. Even when the scope grows, they communicate changes early and handle timelines in a practical, flexible way, which makes the collaboration smooth.We communicate via virtual meetings, emails, and messaging apps.

What did you find most impressive or unique about them?

What stands out the most is how end-to-end their involvement is. Vagary doesn’t just build the platform and disappear; they take ownership of the product, growth, and day-to-day execution. Their transparency, reliability, and ability to adapt as the project evolves make the partnership feel more like working with an internal team than an external vendor.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Overall, there’s nothing major that stands out. As the project evolves, a few things become clearer over time, which is expected for a growing platform. Vagary is always open to feedback and adapts along the way, making the process smooth overall.

I’m the owner of a small IT company. We provide IT support for our clients’ software and hardware.

We brought them on for website development and social media management.

What was the scope of their involvement?

We’re currently in the process of building a WordPress website. I’m providing them with content to help them understand my work, and they’ll start working on social media once the website launches. They’ll be working with our Instagram and Facebook pages, and they’ve also mentioned using LinkedIn, but I haven’t used it before. Since COVID hit, they’ve also started doing Google Ads.

They’ll also be developing an e-commerce application in the future that will connect to my website. They offered to build it in parallel with the website, but I preferred them to build the solutions consecutively.

In terms of the collaboration, they’re handling the content, the design, and everything else. I’m just providing my product.

They assigned me a content team and a design team, but my main communication is the CEO.

How did you come to work with Vagary?

One of my friends introduced me to the CEO a couple of years ago. He hadn’t created Vagary yet and was working freelance with a small team. A couple of months ago, he told me he was launching his own company. He was already managing my social media accounts and offered to build me a website and an application.

We spend $100 each month for social media management, and the website is going to be around $500–$1,000.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Vagary has helped me reach more clients through Google Maps and Google Ads. My business has grown. I only imagined family and friends would come to my business but now, people from other regions are coming to ask for help.

How did Vagary perform from a project management standpoint?

They’re great. They’ve helped me understand a lot of things about websites and development, including how to make changes and strategize on content. I don’t know much about social media either, but they’ve taught me.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I trust them. Though the website isn’t finished, it looks amazing.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I don’t really know. I’ve never faced any problems working with them. They always seem to find what I really want. They find alternate ways of doing things that are better than what I suggested.
