We needed support starting our business and forecasting its future benefits. We also needed help to develop our marketplace platform.

Initially, TekRevol performed an R&D phase. We've shared files through Asana and used Figma for testing. TekRevol hasn't developed the application yet, but it will be available for web and Android systems. TekRevol has also delivered a financial study and forecasting of our business.

We've worked with around 5–10 teammates from TekRevol, and I was mainly in contact with two teammates.

How did you come to work with TekRevol?

I found TekRevol through a Google search and selected them because I wanted to work with a company located in the Middle East. I'm based in Saudi Arabia and want to expand to other countries, so I sought a relevant company in the region.

We've spent around $25,000 on this project.

What is the status of this engagement?

We’ve been working with TekRevol since February 2023, and our engagement is close to ending.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The platform hasn’t been launched yet, so there are no quantitative metrics to share at this point. However, TekRevol has delivered on their promises, and we haven't had any issues. Some of the work needs extra revisions to meet the required functionalities, but overall, TekRevol delivers good-quality work at a good pace. 

TekRevol has also delivered a financial study and forecasting of our platform. The team informed us in advance that this wasn't their area of expertise, but we asked them to perform it anyway. TekRevol has delivered a basic study that is not for professional use but is a good starting point.

How did TekRevol perform from a project management standpoint?
TekRevol meets deadlines, and we haven't experienced any delays during the project. The team stays on budget and is responsive via WhatsApp and scheduled Zoom meetings. We also use Asana to share files.

What did you find most impressive about them?
We've had a good partnership with TekRevol and haven't experienced any difficulties. We have a good relationship and experience working with TekRevol.

Are there any areas they could improve?
I can't think of anything for TekRevol to improve. I didn't have previous experience working with different companies, and I'm satisfied with this engagement. 

Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?
TekRevol is a good company to work with and offers many services. I like that they don't push too hard on selling extra services. I recommend other customers to work with TekRevol.

We hired TekRevol for revamping our website and later do the SEO on it to increase traffic and Google rankings. We wanted a good and modern design website to rank on the first page of Google

We found them through search engine, had a few meetings with them. The team was very knowledgeable and knew their stuff pretty well. The deciding factors were their pricing, the value that they were bringing to the table and their SEO experts who were in coordination with us during the initial meetings.

We started off the project in the start of of last year and the team had to deliver it around May. The website completed in June and was SEO friendly as well. The team then started the SEO work on it and then gave it around 4-6 months and we were able to rank on Google. The projects were managed through ASANA and they carried out the project very well.

We had a project manager, account manager, UI/UX lead and SEO expert with us in the entire journey and meetings.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

We were pretty satisfied with the website they made and their SEO strategy as well. Most of our keywords were able to rank on Google's first page and website speed and other metrics were commendable as well.

We had weekly update meetings where they use to show us progress on the entire project plan and also had access to their project management tool: ASANA where I could all the action happening.

The resources that were involved with us understood our requirements pretty well. The PMs were with us in the entire journey and were also able to handle escalations.

Nothing for now.

The company that we’re looking forward to launching is called Pure Plank. We want to offer end users a product and an app around planking, which is a pretty popular exercise. I’m the CEO of the company.

What challenge were you trying to address with TekRevol?

Somebody got me connected with a celebrity pro wrestler for collaboration. The pro wrestler shared that he owed his physique to an exercise called planking. When he told me his story, I was immediately hooked, and we both decided that we wanted to create a product around planking.

Most people saw planking as a pretty boring exercise because it requires lying facedown with forearms on the floor.  As a result, we were trying to create a fun and interactive experience around planking, which led us to hire TekRevol to build our app.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

TekRevol is creating an engaging app that will enable people to enjoy doing planking. We want our end-users to have a good workout experience while having fun. The team is finished with the prototyping phase, and they’re now finishing our app’s beta phase.

We have an iterative process so we may be changing things in the future, but the idea is that we’ll be fully ready to roll next month. Once that’s done, we just need to start uploading content on our app. However, shooting all the content for our platform has been a bit challenging because our celebrity performers are busy right now.

How did you come to work with TekRevol?

I placed an ad on LinkedIn and I mentioned I was looking for an app developer. I had a difficult time finding the right partner because there were a million companies to choose from overseas in countries like China, Pakistan, and India.

On top of that, I did a lot of research because I knew the interactive experience we wanted to incorporate in the app would be critical to our project taking off. In the end, we settled on TekRevol because all of the platforms they created had a beautiful UI, which was something that was very important to me. Above all, their outputs were very functional, and their offered prices were reasonable.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

TekRevol is knowledgeable; they answer my questions well. They’re also great at providing feedback while making sure that they don’t overstep things in the process. Even though I sometimes feel I’m all over the place, TekRevol guides me by being organized every step of the way. On top of that, they deliver high-quality work, and they ensure that everything is how it’s supposed to be.

How did TekRevol perform from a project management standpoint?

Their communication skills and responsiveness have been top-notch; we have weekly calls with TekRevol. Additionally, every time I email them, they reply pretty quickly. We’re amazed at how they’ve set up everything in Asana so that they could properly manage the project.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their reliability is impressive; when they say a deliverable is ready at a certain time, they fulfill it. In our previous engagements, other providers promise to finish their work within two weeks, but when the deadline comes, they don’t submit their deliverables.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They don't have any particular areas to improve in their work. However, it was off-putting to know that they changed their employees from US-based to overseas-based during the engagement. As I previously mentioned, I didn’t want to go with an overseas company.

I guess it would’ve been nice to understand why they did it, but they might have tried to save money since employees overseas offer cheaper services. Despite that, our partnership ended up working really well.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Be very clear about what you want so that they’re able to deliver exactly that. If you’re unclear on your vision, you’re basically asking TekRevol to complete your vision for you. However, their idea may not be exactly what you want so it’s good to work on that before engaging with them.

I was looking for a company to develop my app.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

TekRevol is developing my game app, and they’re helping me design it. Our platform enables end-users to wager real-life cash so that they can earn money while playing the game. I can’t share more details about the game because it hasn’t been launched yet, but I’m aiming for my app to be played worldwide. The team is now working on the second phase of our engagement.

What is the team composition?

I’m working with 5–7 people from TekRevol. We’ve been working with a developer from TekRevol that has been focusing on creating my app, but he’s taking a little break so we’ve been closely working with a new person now.

How did you come to work with TekRevol?

I wanted to partner with a local company, and TekRevol was located in Miami. The other companies I talked to were in different states or countries such as New Jersey and Europe. I wanted to work on a project where I could go and visit the vendor to look at their work.

How much have you invested with them?

The total cost of the project is $52,000–$54,000. So far, I’ve paid close to 20% of the project’s total amount.

What is the status of this engagement?

Our ongoing partnership began in July 2021. We expect the project to be completed in January–February 2022.

TekRevol has sent me pictures of our app’s frontend and I like what they have so far. They’ve only just started with the design phase, so there’s not much to say about it because it’s only been going for three weeks.

How did TekRevol perform from a project management standpoint?

We use Asana and Zoom, and communication has never been a problem for us. Every time I call them, they always answer. We also have meetings almost every single week.

What did you find most impressive about them?

This is my first time working with an app development company so I can’t compare them to anyone else. However, everything’s going pretty well so I have no complaints.

What was the scope of their involvement?

My engagement with TekRevol has been standard; they send me prototypes, and then I review them.  At present, our teams are trying to get into the development phase. 

For context, the app is an invite-only social media platform exclusive to iOS users. Users who don’t have invites can also apply within the app. Once they receive verification, they can start using the app. Multiple timelines are featured; users can upload music, other audio files, videos, and photos. They can also post status updates. 

What is the team composition?

I initially worked with Kate (Key Account Manager) and Ryan (Partner). When I initiated the prototyping process, I started working with Estes (Senior Project Manager & Business Development Officer), who became my main point of contact at that time. 

After Estes, I’m now working with Shah (PR & Communications Manager) and Rahim (Senior Marketing Consultant). Rahim works to ensure that I communicate well with the rest of the TekRevol team.

I posted a job offer on a platform, saying that I needed help with app development. My choices were between TekRevol and another company, and I ultimately decided to go with TekRevol after having a call with Kate, who felt more relatable and genuine.

I’ve shown the app to a couple of people, and they’ve said the app looks great aesthetically. 

How did TekRevol perform from a project management standpoint?

Compared to my previous developer, TekRevol's communication is better. Moreover, we’ve met our due dates for the most part. 

For project management, our teams communicate via Asana. Then, we get each other’s phone numbers to text.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their professionalism is the most impressive thing about TekRevol. They care about how I feel about the process, which is already a step-up from my previous developer. Moreover, when I post requests or edits on Asana, they take no more than a couple of days to submit the deliverables.  

Overall, their professionalism truly stands out. In fact, Rahim has called me to say that he’s going to make my experience go the way I want it to go. That’s helpful for me. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

I’ve been a little frustrated with some things, and we could’ve hit the ground running if they'd had a better understanding of my vision for the app. On top of that, it’s better if TekRevol also gives their feedback to me, not simply do what I tell them to do. 

I give them detailed notes around the things I want, but things are sometimes left out when they give me the screens because they don’t give me their feedback. I’m new to the app development process, and I’m not entirely sure of the app’s capabilities, which is something I’m trying to figure out. As a result, their feedback is necessary for me to also improve.
