Regarding the response, Suffescom was always available and always on regardless of the time difference between the United States and India. We mostly communicated over Skype or by phone, but it was a very quick response always. I am very happy about that.

Overall, they did a good job, but at some point, I wasn’t sure about the overall planning of the system. I didn’t know the timelines, and I have to admit some of my specifications were quite fuzzy because we were discovering what the needs were as we were going. I don’t want to put this all on them, but I feel that the project planning is not necessarily their top quality.
They did well on follow-ups, though, especially every time there were items that needed to be done or required changes. They used a system internally, but I didn’t.

My Pet Code produces external microchips for pets. We're based in London, Ontario. I am the founder of the company.

What challenge were you trying to address with Suffescom Solutions?
I needed to develop a software which would allow the person rescuing the pet to view a profile for the animal, communicate with the pet owner, share GPS locations, and call up to 5 people simultaneously.

I gave Suffescom Solutions an outline of what I needed to accomplish and they developed my solution.
We've worked primarily with a single contact from Suffescom Solutions, so I don't know how many developers were involved in our project.
How did you come to work with Suffescom Solutions?
I was told by a few companies that they could develop my software, but as soon as they got to the hardest parts, the progress stopped and they needed to outsource the work. I made a search through Upwork and found a few different candidates who seemed to be qualified. My main requirement was to have the ability to send GPS locations from the tag, through the tap of a smartphone. Suffescom Solutions' contact showed me websites similar to what I wanted to accomplish.

The total cost of our project with Suffescom Solutions was around $10,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
I started working with Suffescom Solutions in October 2015. The initial project had a one-month duration and was completed, but because it's a novel product, the development has been ongoing. I have made many edits and tweaks.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
Could you share any evidence that would demonstrate the productivity, quality of work, or the impact of the engagement?
I run my company as a one-man-show, with the help of a few people who help me during trade shows and other events. I haven't tracked any objective metrics yet.
In my opinion, Suffescom Solutions' quality of work has been awesome. I've worked with a couple of other developers from Canada who couldn't accomplish what Suffescom Solutions did.
How did Suffescom Solutions perform from a project management standpoint?
I have no complaints whatsoever about Suffescom Solutions in terms of project management. I was told what steps were being made and what I needed to provide. Nothing was done without my approval.
At some points, my explanations got lost in translation, but for the most part, Suffescom Solutions was better than other companies.
What did you find most impressive about Suffescom Solutions?
Suffescom Solutions delivered what they promised me, instead of stumbling along the way. Local partners that I've had in Canada always promised that they could take care of everything, but didn't.
Are there any areas Suffescom Solutions could improve?
There wasn't much creativity behind Suffescom Solutions' work. I'm not a web developer, designer, or software programmer. Most of the material I laid out was developed exactly as per my specifications, which was great, but there were some areas that, if I had been working with a more creative partner, would have been improved in terms of user friendliness and so on. However, I can appreciate the fact that Suffescom Solutions did exactly what I asked.
What tips or recommendations could you share that might increase the likelihood of success with Suffescom Solutions?
Suffescom Solutions is a good choice for clients wanting to do the work exactly as specified, rather than for people who need a more creative approach.
