As our blockchain / Web3 project gained momentum and popularity, we quickly needed a coding / blockchain web development company with expert coders, speed, reliability, and quality control - as we had clearly outgrown our own in-house coding team by that point. 

SpaceDev responded to us with an initial report / assessment of our codebase and all of the things that needed to be fixed or done - and this was a super detailed report where we knew that the project manager / coders really did a deep dive into our GitHub / Codebase and they knew exactly what was wrong, what could be improved, and what we needed. 

We had offers from some other web development companies as well, but none came close to the level of detail and attention SpaceDev had made in their first initial assessment report alone, and the speed and cost, plus the fact that they are an actual company with offices in 3-4 different countries around the world, with great reviews etc, sealed the deal for us pretty much on the spot after that. 

SpaceDev took over what was a very buggy Web3 dApp based on the BSC blockchain that was made by one of our first coders who didn't have much experience, and as the weeks went by they quickly identified, eliminated, fixed, and improved all of the bugs and not just that, they went above and beyond and transformed the buggy dApp into a smooth, clean piece of code with far better efficiency, organisation and speed - and also version control and things like that which are critical for an enterprise-level project. 

SpaceDev is a seriously good Web3 / Blockchain web development company, for projects which are serious and need a proper company with a great project manager and a great, expert team of coders who are not only skilled but also reliable and have great speed, quality control, all combined into one.

• Fixed numerous bugs (hundreds and hundreds of lines of complex Web3 / Ethers.js / React code etc) in our dApp 
• Prepared detailed reports on not just the codebase but on the overall project in itself, including the smart contract and financial aspects. 
• Introduced new features and suggestions which were really well received by the users of the Dapp. 
• Were quick to fix and correct any mistakes (of which there were very little to begin with) 
• Easy, friendly, smooth to work with - both the project managers and the coders - they are a wonderful team. 
• SpaceDev's coding team frequently attends (and wins) hackathons and various Ethereum / blockchain related events. They know blockchain tech inside out.

What challenge were you trying to address with SpaceDev?

Our company was looking to transition into smart contracts, so we needed someone to build a solution for that.

What was the scope of their involvement?

SpaceDev helped us develop a web platform that utilizes blockchain technology to provide our customers with smart contracting solutions.

After a couple of meetings, we started the project with a two-week discovery sprint which yielded the development plan, project structure, MVP goals, and the description of the product’s functionalities, as well as the integration of third-party services.

After the development phase, the product was out of beta in about 10 months, and the tools they used included React, Node.js, and MongoDB.

Moreover, they implemented additional features such as proper scaling, improved support, user-friendly claim forms, the ability to upload digital evidence, export PDF files, and other important documents.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

It was a hectic discovery and development period at first, but we immediately noticed a slight decrease in the usage of paperwork in certain areas, especially involving the payment process — which is now automated.

Eight of our existing clients had their policies and claims histories successfully migrated into the new platform, and our email surveys revealed they were very satisfied with the new streamlined process.

In addition, we signed on four new clients, citing that the technology we implemented gave them confidence and a sense of security.

How did SpaceDev perform from a project management standpoint?

They performed well from a project management perspective, as they were always open and available to questions and transparent with the progress of the development.

We never felt ignored, and we liked their approach based on Agile methodologies — SpaceDev essentially made the process very easy for us, and our issues and concerns were swiftly addressed.

The primary scope included integrating a new API into our interface, and modifying the front-end interface components in javascript. We also worked with SpaceDev on web3 wallet integrations like MetaMask and WalletConnect.

After finishing the project, we had a significantly more robust application that supported 5 more blockchain networks than our previous application. Users also found the new front-end interface easier to use.

Nothing of note. Our niche is an emerging area within blockchain, so there were elements of learning needed for the team, but this was always expected.
