I’m the CTO of Cicil, a fintech company based in Indonesia. We provide financial and education services for students.

What challenge were you trying to address with Sagara Technology?

We needed consultation and product development services.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Sagara consulted us on IT product development and provided the resources for it. One of their biggest involvements was the development of our web-based back-office product. This project included developing a notification service, a SendGrid integration, and creating a tool for our campaign analytics.

For backend development, they used Python and Django. For the frontend, they used Ruby and Angular. For Android, it was Angular as well, and for the database, they used PostgreSQL.

The notification service that they developed is a back-office dashboard that helps us send notifications to our users. We register our users in the system, and we can send a notification through email or the in-application inbox with just a command.

What is the team composition?

We worked directly with a main point of contact from Sagara, but I don’t remember how many more people were on their team.

How did you come to work with Sagara Technology?

Someone from their team approached me, and we discussed the project we wanted to develop.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent around $5,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together from January–March 2019.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Sagara delivered a great product, fulfilling our requirements. There was a slight delay in the delivery, but the quality of the product was good. Although we found some issues in the first few months, they addressed and fixed them.

How did Sagara Technology perform from a project management standpoint?

There were some delays on their side, maybe because they miscalculated the complexity of our requirements. We onboarded them to our project management tool, and they came to our office to discuss the project on a weekly basis.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Sagara was really committed to delivering a good quality product.

Are there any areas they could improve?

It would have been good if they had delivered on time. Additionally, there were some unknown charges in their prices sometimes, so it would have been good if they had explained their pricing in detail.

Don’t be hesitant to ask for what you want.
