BACKGROUND

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the CEO and founder of a URL shortening service that transforms long links into short, shareable URLs, making it easy to share and manage links efficiently.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What specific goals or objectives did you hire Riseup Labs to accomplish for your business?

We hired Riseup Labs to develop our product. Initially, we needed them to understand our business logic, analyze all the facts, and give us more options to grow our business.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Riseup Labs developed our whole system from basic requirements to a usable product. The main deliverables were the system PRD, UI/UX, system architecture, mobile-friendly frontend, backend, CI/CD deployment, QA reports, and system maintenance with AMC. The only third-party integration was the payment gateway; everything else was built in-house.

What is the team composition?

We worked with 18 teammates from Riseup Labs.

How did you come to work with Riseup Labs?

We found Riseup Labs through an online search. We chose them over other options because they were close to our geographic location, their pricing fit our budget, they had a great culture fit, they offered good value for the cost, and their company values aligned with ours.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent around $100,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

The engagement lasted from February-July 2025.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

After two months, we received the MVP and went to the market, getting a great response from our clients. This was the most measurable outcome for us. After releasing the MVP, our clients were ready to give advance payment for the other features that were under development, like the QR code scan. Additionally, we created almost 10,000 links.

How did Riseup Labs perform from a project management standpoint?

Riseup Labs delivered the project on a milestone basis. Their project management was good. Although they missed two milestones, they later covered the misses and delivered the projects on time. We communicated through virtual meetings, emails, and messaging apps.

What did you find most impressive about them?

We were impressed by Riseup Labs' communication and the expertise of their team members. They proposed the best solutions.

Describe the scope of work in detail. Please include a summary of key deliverables.

Riseup Labs helped us develop a custom internal platform to support our recruitment operations. The project included discovery, UI/UX design, front-end and back-end development, QA testing, and implementation support. The main deliverables included a user-friendly dashboard for our recruitment team, candidate and client management functionality, workflow automation, role and pipeline tracking, and integrations to make our daily processes more organized and transparent. They also helped us improve data visibility across active hiring projects, so our team could track progress, manage candidates more efficiently, and reduce manual work.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The project helped us significantly improve the way our team manages recruitment workflows. After implementing the platform, we reduced manual candidate tracking work by around 30%, improved visibility across active hiring projects, and made it easier for recruiters, account managers, and the marketing team to access the information they needed in one place. The platform also helped us organize candidate pipelines more clearly, track project progress faster, and reduce the number of scattered spreadsheets and manual updates used in daily operations. Overall, Riseup Labs delivered the key milestones on time and created a solution that made our internal processes more efficient and scalable.

Describe their project management. Did they deliver items on time? How did they respond to your needs?

Their project management was clear and well-structured from the beginning. We had a dedicated point of contact, regular progress updates, and a transparent process for reviewing tasks, sharing feedback, and prioritizing next steps. They delivered the main items on time and were responsive whenever we had questions or needed adjustments. What we appreciated most was that they did not just execute tasks mechanically. They tried to understand how our recruitment team works and adapted the product decisions to our real internal workflow. Communication was smooth throughout the project, and their team was flexible when we needed to refine certain features or change priorities. Overall, they were reliable, organized, and easy to work with.

What was your primary form of communication with Riseup Labs?

• Virtual Meeting
• Email or Messaging App

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

What impressed us most was their ability to combine technical execution with a real understanding of our business workflow. They didn’t just build features based on a brief. They asked the right questions, tried to understand how our recruiters, account managers, and marketing team work day to day, and suggested practical improvements along the way. We also appreciated how flexible and solution-oriented their team was. Whenever we needed to adjust a feature or rethink part of the workflow, they responded quickly and helped us find the best way forward. Their team felt like a real technology partner, not just an outsourced development vendor. You can make it a little shorter if the field doesn't like long answers: What impressed us most was how well they understood our internal workflow and translated it into a practical product. They were not just focused on development tasks. They asked thoughtful questions, suggested useful improvements, and adapted the platform to the way our recruitment team actually works. Their flexibility, communication, and problem-solving approach made them feel like a real technology partner.

Are there any areas for improvement or something Riseup Labs could have done differently?

Overall, we were satisfied with the collaboration and the final result. If there is one area for improvement, it would be to provide slightly more detailed documentation at the handover stage, especially for non-technical team members who use the platform daily. That said, whenever we had questions, the Riseup Labs team was responsive and helped us understand the functionality. It was not a major issue, but more structured user documentation or short training materials would have made the transition even smoother.
