I am the marketing lead for a property investment company based in London.

What challenge were you trying to address with Red Turtle?

We needed help with some graphic design for our company.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We don’t have an in-house designer, so we use Red Turtle to create graphics and banners for our advertising. We send them the images, design concept, and the text, and they usually deliver results within a few days, if not sooner. They’ve also created our internal graphics for our email signatures.

What is the team composition?

We work mostly with Bimal (Founder and CEO, Red Turtle) who is our main contact. Several designers work with him.

How did you come to work with Red Turtle?

We recruited them from Upwork. My director was the one who originally picked them, as I only started working with them when I joined the company.

How much have you invested in them?

So far, we have spent less than $2,000 on their services.

What is the status of this engagement?

I began working with them in March 2016. We give them work on an ongoing basis.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

They follow our instructions and create what we ask for within a short period of time. Our director has been happy with what they do and always provides positive feedback on the graphics. They are quite reasonably priced as well.

How did Red Turtle perform from a project management standpoint?

They are quite organized, so there is never any confusion over what they should be giving us. Bimal always communicates effectively with the designers on his end. If there is an issue, he will let me know there may be a delay, but that is very rare. We generally communicate through Upwork.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their quick turnaround time is impressive. Usually, people on Upwork aren’t always as quick at getting back to me, sometimes taking a few days. In contrast, Bimal always responds promptly.

Are there any areas they could improve?

What they do in their capacity is really good. I don’t think there is anything they can improve upon because they do what is required of them. You can’t ask for anything more than that.

I’m a software engineer at Trialienz. We develop software based on both our clients’ ideas.

What challenge were you trying to address with Red Turtle?

We’re collaborating with Red Turtle to help with some of our development projects.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We’ve done four or five projects together and currently have three ongoing projects with them. We’ve worked with them on a florist website for buying and selling flowers, the design of a music app, and creation of a clinic management system.

We’ve used WordPress and cross-platform languages like PHP and JavaScript, as well as MySQL databases. We used a new payment platform for the e-commerce website. We’ve worked with Android Studio for Android applications, and Xcode for iOS, which we used to program in either Objective-C or Swift.

What is the team composition?

We’ve worked with six to seven people from Red Turtle, in addition to some resources working in the background.

How did you come to work with Red Turtle?

We often use freelancing platforms, and we used to work with an Indian company, but we changed them because we didn’t like their services that much. We went to Upwork and posted a project. I visited Red Turtle’s profile, saw their ratings, and awarded them the project. We liked the way they worked and they delivered the first project very quickly. We talked to them about another project, and they accepted the work. Projects started flowing after that. We currently give them every single project we have.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent $3,000 total with them.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with Red Turtle in November 2017. Timelines depend on the individual project. Larger ones can take two months, while smaller ones, like the florist website, took six weeks to complete.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We’ve continued to work with Red Turtle because we appreciate the work they’re doing. I would rate them a 9/10. We’ve also shown our projects to other people and they’ve appreciated the work.

How did Red Turtle perform from a project management standpoint?

We work from Monday to Friday, but they still text me on weekends, giving us builds and information about the project. They also introduced us to Teamwork, when we previously only used Skype and brief phone calls to share our ideas. Teamwork is a practical tool in terms of reporting bugs and leaving comments.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Red Turtle’s creativity stands out to me. Sometimes it’s difficult to make other freelancers we’ve worked with understand our ideas; they didn’t use their imaginations. When we create a project, we like to take our imagination and bring it to reality. We really like the way we collaborate with Red Turtle—the way they work, the way in which they interact with clients, and the work they do.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Technology changes every day, so they have to continually learn new things and keep up with new innovations.
