We needed to further our product promotion efforts through social media marketing and print advertising.

What was the scope of their involvement?

We've initially relayed our goals and brand guidelines to Petrikor's team, and they've customized a scope based on those. In pursuit of our social media marketing efforts, they've contacted influencers and conducted profiling, listing each influencer's location, partnership fee, follower count, and possible contribution to our business. We've selected three influencers from their initial list, each of them taking turns in handling our Facebook, Instagram, and Tiktok pages. They engage with our audience by sharing ads and interactive cooking videos produced by Petrichor.

Apart from their digital marketing services, we also rely on Petrikor's expertise in print advertising. They design promotional materials such as banners, flyers, and posters, which we use to amplify our marketing strategies. After deploying their deliverables, Petrikor tracks every campaign's performance to monitor our revenue growth and identify areas for improvement.

I work with Saleem (CEO & Co-Founder) and a team of four resources, including their art director.

I previously worked with Petrikor on a personal project — not being a stranger to their industry-standard solutions and professionalism, I onboarded them again to handle this project.

We've spent between $50,000–$100,000 so far.

What is the status of this engagement?

Our ongoing engagement started in March 2020. We've recently signed our second-year contract with their team.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We've seen a 35–40% follower increase on Facebook and Instagram, thanks to Petrikor's high-quality and lucrative solutions. One of our chosen influencers has particularly brought in 850,000 views for one video, which has effectively expanded our digital presence. Petrikor takes ownership of their work and generates tailored marketing results that meet our needs — they're worth every penny we've spent.

How did Petrikor Solutions perform from a project management standpoint?

We mainly communicate via email. Petrikor is a dedicated partner that promptly responds to our concerns and motivates our team to be as timeline-oriented as them. They go above and beyond to create a harmonious and productive work environment for our teams. Additionally, they're highly receptive to staff and customer feedback.

What did you find most impressive about them?

We're most impressed with Petrikor's out-of-the-box ideas. They've brought creative solutions to the table and helped us realize our goals when we've had nothing to start with. The cherry on top is their willingness to listen to our changing needs — we never have to ask them for anything twice.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Snapchat is the most popular platform in our region right now, and we'll appreciate it if Petrikor can master its ins and outs sooner than later.

City Perfume is an online and in-store retailer of niche and luxury fragrances and cosmetics. I am currently the general manager of the company.

What challenge were you trying to address with Petrikor Solutions?

One of our biggest challenges was competing with the increasing number of specialty retailers. Our store offers a range of products from various big department stores, whereas our competitors only focused on key products, like celebrity makeup. We hired Petrikor to help us with our branding and to get more people to notice our business. We also sought their expertise to grow our social media following and educate potential customers on the products that we offer.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Petrikor worked on all of our social media platforms, particularly on Instagram. They optimized all of our sponsored ads to generate leads and target specific customers. Their team also created blogs and editorials on our website, which they linked to Google and Google Ads. We provided them with our brand guidelines and creative assets to direct those outputs. 

Every month, Petrikor reported a full rundown of everything they had done. Their reports listed in detail all of the posts, articles, and ads that they had put together along with recommendations on how to improve the results. 

They suggested that we increase and refocus our ad spend. We went from spending $1,000 a month on Facebook and Google to now spending $12,000 a month on just Google ads. As our results improved, we continued to increase our efforts until we got to a comfortable stage where we were gaining customers and growing organically. 

What is the team composition?

I worked with quite a few digital marketing specialists from Petrikor, one of whom looked after our social media while two others managed our Google Ads. There were also SEO specialists who took care of our rankings, links, and website content. When we encountered technical issues, such as being unable to connect a certain widget or functionality, they also provided a web developer to help us. 

In total, there were seven people on the project, including the manager, who was on top of monitoring and providing feedback for the entirety of the effort.  

How did you come to work with Petrikor Solutions?

A friend of mine recommended them. What ultimately made me want to work with them was their cost-effectiveness, ownership, and the fact that they provided a full rundown of their services. We felt that we would get more from their team than with other companies who charged a higher amount. 

How much have you invested with them?

We pay $3,000 AUD (approximately $2,000 USD) per month. We also provide the team with a percentage of our ad spend. 

What is the status of this engagement?

The project began around March 2019, and our partnership is still ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

When we first started with Petrikor, our Facebook page only had around 2,000 followers. Now, we have upwards of 8,000 active followers on that channel, none of which are fake accounts as Petrikor makes sure to check for these at the end of each month. 

Our conversion rate has also jumped from 2% to 17%. We’ve even ranked highly on Google for certain products, which in turn has dramatically improved our visibility. We’ve gone from growing at a rate of 2% every month to now growing organically at 8% every month. On top of that, we’ve also seen an increase in the number of our return customers. 

Petrikor has really been productive. They’ve put in a constant effort to ensure that we are being charged correctly for our activities on Google. 

How did Petrikor Solutions perform from a project management standpoint?

Petrikor makes it really easy for us to evaluate the job that they do. They provide us with a full, detailed presentation of everything they’ve achieved that month and what they intend to do in the following time period. We appreciate that they explain it to us in a way that we can understand, as opposed to just hopping on a quick phone call for a brief and insufficient update. 

Even with the time difference between us, we’re able to communicate and work together easily. Their entire team is on WhatsApp and is very responsive to our queries. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

What sets Petrikor apart from other providers is the humongous value that they’ve provided. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, there’s nothing for them to improve on. I believe we could get more in terms of content, but I haven’t specifically asked if they have a content team that could do that for us. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Don’t make any fast decisions. Take the time to understand the range services that Petrikor offers. This way, you can select the best service that is suited to your business’s needs. It would also do you good to listen to any plans or suggestions that the team makes for you.

They took over our Instagram account @Lambwestonarabia as it used to be handled by a different agency before. Slowly, slowly we have identified together what wasn't going on and we started to define color codings together, they have created recipes, videos, photos.
