Multicore Technologies delivered an app that included all the features outlined at the beginning of the project. Despite this, the project was discontinued for reasons out of Multicore Technologies’ control. Nevertheless, they communicated efficiently, resulting in a positive collaboration.

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.

BACKGROUND

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I wanted to develop a web and native app that would help nonprofits increase their donor base and raise capital.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Multicore Technologies?

We wanted to simplify donation processes by creating an app that was compatible with iOS and Android. The backend was connected to a credit card processor, making it easy to transfer funds to nonprofits.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

They helped with every aspect of the app’s development. For six months they worked on the functionality of the app from the ideation phase, to build out, to finally the activation of the app.

What is the team composition?

We interfaced with one project lead.

How did you come to work with Multicore Technologies?

They were referred to me by a friend who has more experience with app development than I do.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent about $40,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together from June 2016- June 2018.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

They built everything according to the scope we provided and made all the adjustments that we wanted to make. The app was fully functioning, and we were really happy with Multicore Technologies’ work. However, we stopped developing the app because of issues on our end.

How did Multicore Technologies perform from a project management standpoint?

We talked about three times per week during the build-out phase.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their project lead was very easy to communicate with and is a high-level processor. They really understood what we were trying to accomplish, and surpassed our expectations.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I can’t think of any area for improvement.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

The clearer the scope is, the better off you’re going to be. It’s great to document everything you need to accomplish and to have a great project lead as we had.
