I’m the area manager for DIAGEO México, one of the largest alcoholic beverage suppliers.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Magnus Group Mx?

We needed to hire an agency to handle some branding and brand activation.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Magnus Group Mx was in charge of managing brands brought to outlets; they handled the activation. They hired staff, recorded KPIs of sales to show what was selling and how it was being done, and brought the brand to life in the outlet. Their team also coordinated the events at the outlets.

What is the team composition?

I mainly interacted with the owner and project manager. The team was quite large, there were between 40–50 people, some of whom were responsible for updating me regularly.

How did you come to work with Magnus Group Mx?

I chose them for their openness to feedback and good communication skills.

How much have you invested with them?

We invested about 2,500,000 pesos (approximately $115,000 USD).

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together from January 2018–February 2020.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Magnus Group Mx was very helpful in making things happen. They worked to make us stand out above our competitors, who do similar activations. Their team responded well to feedback, making necessary changes. Overall, I’m happy with the work they did and the way they managed our brands in the outlets.

How did Magnus Group Mx perform from a project management standpoint?

Their team members contacted me every 7–15 days to discuss what was happening, as well as make any changes we requested. They were available and responsive. We used some tools for tracking their work and handling the invoicing and payments.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They did a good job with activation and brand management. We’re happy with the engagement and would recommend them to other local suppliers.

Are there any areas they could improve?

There were some difficult transitions when they had to hire new resources in order to meet demand.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

They do very well with specific tasks and schedules. I’m not sure how well they can do with a large scope.
