I needed help in developing my Magento webshop, so I’m working with Luxinten.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Luxinten has redeveloped our Magento website in a way that suits our unique business. We do not sell ready-made products but instead make them according to our customer’s needs. They took on the challenge of making everything work properly and are now taking overall care of the site. The team has even made changes to the design, content, signs, and notations.

I had tried several web development agencies around the world and heard that Ukraine had very good development agencies. I got in contact with the owners of Luxinten through Linkedin, and we started working from there.

I’ve invested around $60,000–$70,000.

I started the project in January 2020 and I’m still working with Luxinten.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We don’t have any metrics at the moment, but we are measuring the loading times and how fast the website performs on computers and mobile phones. We’re also making note of the conversion rates because a small thing can have a big difference. 

It was nice to see Luxinten resolve a Google Analytics issue that I’ve had for two years at that point. They updated my Google Analytics correctly and were able to fix what I and two previous developers couldn’t. 

How did LLC Luxinten perform from a project management standpoint?

Our collaboration is going very well. Their team speaks and writes to me in English. We maintain a very tight connection via Skype, where we discuss issues that Luxinten solves quickly, and we use Jira to register and follow the tasks from both sides. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Luxinten is good at programming and developing Magento websites. They are knowledgeable, skilled, and up-to-date about all the new tools that Adobe is launching. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

There’s always something everyone can improve on, but I have nothing for Luxinten. I would appreciate if they could also take on the SEO aspect of my website so that we could just have one company working on everything.

I’m a director of a company that sells licensed merchandise from different brands online.

What challenge were you trying to address with LLC Luxinten?

We wanted to transition our site from using WordPress and WooCommerce to Magento, and to integrate Microsoft Dynamics on the backend. We hired Luxinten to create the many customizations and custom behaviors we needed beyond a standard Magento site.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Since our in-house developer dropped out, Luxinten has taken over the frontend work. We’re going about this process in an unusual way and will hand over the wireframes our former employee made. The team will clone the look and feel of our current site on the frontend, so it has a similar appearance for our end users.

Luxinten is doing the majority of the backend work on our Magento site. They will configure our Magento server and optimize it to run smoother. A separate Microsoft partner worked on the backend Microsoft Dynamics, but Luxinten will handle the NAV integration to store all the latest order information. It lets customers check shipment status. Another integration with NAV will update the frontend on preorder status.

They’re also handling development with multi-warehousing. We use multiple warehouses located internationally. Displaying European and US sizes require additional custom work for our customers in different countries.

What is the team composition? 

We handled the commercial side with the co-founder. All the day-to-day work goes through a project manager, although we do speak to the developers sometimes. The project manager addresses all our questions and goes to the developers with anything she can’t answer.

How did you come to work with LLC Luxinten?

We found them through a recommendation from another e-commerce company that was happy with their work. We started the process to see if they’d be a good fit.

We’ve spent in the region of $40,000. 

What is the status of this engagement?

After some delays, we signed a contract with Luxinten in March 2018 and have been working together ever since. We’ve had to hand over some unexpected work to their team.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The site hasn’t gone live yet, so we don’t have any comments from customers to share.  I’ve been the primary contact with Luxinten, and have given them feedback from our end. I’m pleased with the quality of their work.

One of the best things they’ve done was the initial breakdown for all the costs involved. Compared to other firms we’ve worked with, Luxinten had very accurate initial estimates. They broke everything down to show us how much every part cost and why. I’ve been pleased with that system and the work in general. We’ve had no significant issues with either of those things so far.

How did LLC Luxinten perform from a project management standpoint?

Luxinten typically responds to my queries within half an hour. Having a single point of contact has been beneficial. Most of our communication has been through email, but we’ve had Skype calls as well. We use Jira for project management.

The whole management side has gone well. They’re much better than other companies we’ve used in the past. We haven’t had to put in much effort on our side, which isn’t always the case with software projects. They were always amenable to completing more work we needed and flexible about making changes. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Luxinten’s differentiating factor has been excellent organization. They manage everything well from estimates to project management. They’ve been very easy to collaborate with and have lightened our workload. We can trust in their process and know things will be done when they say they will be.

Are there any areas they could improve?

This isn’t their fault, but Skype is always problematic, and I’d prefer it if they didn’t use it. This small issue is the only thing I can think of. Otherwise, Luxinten has been very easy to work with.

I'm co-founder and e-commerce director of CurrentBody, a retailer of home-use beauty devices.

What challenge were you trying to address with Luxinten?

We have multiple websites for our business and when we started working with Luxinten, we didn't have any in-house developers. We needed our sites to be more agile, load quickly, the ability to make changes faster, and improved conversion rates. The sites are really the core of our business so we needed to be able to respond quickly to the challenges we face and get the changes made that we needed.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Luxinten has been the sole developer for our two Magento websites. They completed the initial development over a few months. Around that same time, we did a huge rebranding and updated the site. They also developed the German site that we launched.

They continue to do ongoing maintenance including improving payments and checkout flow. We provide them with designs via PSD files. For reasons unrelated to Luxinten we have decided to transition from the Magento platform to Shopify Plus, which means we are working with another firm because Luxinten is a Magento expert. We’ll ask Luxinten to do some other internal work for us.

We work with seven or eight people including account managers, developers, and QA.

How did you come to work with Luxinten?

I had worked with their founder at a previous company. When the breakaway company was formed, we were one of the first clients to sign up with them. I knew their quality of work and had always been impressed.

We’ve spent a six-figure sum (USD).

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them in October 2014 and it’s ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Feedback from users has been positive. For example, we have 2,500 reviews on Trustpilot with an average 9.6 rating. The quality of the website is very much a part of that user experience. We received investment in March to help us expand internationally and the investors liked the site too and how well it works.

How did Luxentin perform from a project management standpoint?

We communicate via Skype and email and I've met them a few times for face-to-face meetings. We have efficient processes that we work through. We use Jira to keep track of things. For any different project, we know how much has been spent. Our product manager has a good relationship and great rapport with them.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Before we started working with Luxinten we looked at doing development in-house but there are so many skills and areas we need. They have the breadth of the skills that we need—frontend, backend, QA, project management—under one roof in a well-run team.

They’re set up to get the most out of their developers and they’re very strict about the quality of developers they take on. We had a prior experience with another agency after which we had to spend months rewriting the code. It was a good lesson to make sure we found developers who were passionate about building good code because you’re building features upon features which have to all work together smoothly. We know that the work that they’ve done has been built in such a way that it would be easy for us to take on in-house. They could have cut corners and taken features live without considering the functionality of the whole site. Instead, they take a holistic view of the site and ensure that the code is done in the right way.

When Luxinten took over, they migrated our website over to Magento. They restructured the entire site, including the frontend and backend. We didn’t provide them with any prior requirements or wireframes; instead, we collaborated on everything from beginning to end. Once the new site launched, Luxinten took over maintenance, which included fixing bugs and adding extensions.

Luxinten was extremely responsive, unlike previous developers I’ve worked with who were difficult to get ahold of. They dealt with problems quickly and even stayed up late a few times to resolve some issues. We mainly communicated via Skype and email.

The working process has been complex and interesting at the same time, it was necessary to solve the issue of synchronization between the created website and the accounting program. We also had to take into account the interests and real capabilities of the three parties, and nevertheless the efficiency of the process was at a high level.

We contacted Luxinten to get assistance in setting up our own website - a well-developed and convenient platform for online purchases.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

A friend of ours recommended us to get in touch with Luxinten on this matter. The decisive reason in choosing them was that Luxinten has been offering their services on the market for a long time. They also have imposing experience in the area of ecommerce, especially with Magento platform, because we wanted our website to be set up particularly on this one. In addition, positive feedback about their company affected our decision to start having business with Luxinten.

The new website has been set on Magento 2. Luxinten team took care of developing a new design using Figma functionality. Also they helped us to migrate our data from the old Wordpress store to a new one. During development all required modules for banners, sliders have been installed. We wanted Liqpay to be set as a payment method in our store and they did it.

We were informed about each step during the whole process of development and were advised about better solutions in some particular controversial cases. Moreover, the project has been getting tested on all stages of work.

We were working with a team of 6 people: project manager, designer, 2 backend developers, one frontend developer and QA engineer.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

Our website was launched a month ago (November 2021). And of course we don’t have a whole picture of sales reports for now, but we can assure that the new website is more user friendly and performance is perfect. This one is definitely better than the previous Wordpress website.

Luxinten is using the Jira task manager for work. Clients can pick a convenient type of communication, in our case we used emails and Viber messenger. Working schedule is 40 hours in a week. The way of working - Agile with some elements of the Scrum process.

We were impressed with their efficiency, flexibility, professionalism, and quality of work.

In my opinion, we have picked a suitable platform for us (our sphere of business). We were also informed that Magento functionality is well-developed and in case it is needed, features of our website can be easily extended.
