I’m the director of project strategy at a custom fabrication shop. We offer a variety of decorative rentals, staging, and other scenic supports. We provide creative services for environments like festivals, brand activation, conferences, and private events.

We needed help building our company's website. We wanted a website to better showcase how we support our clients, the various processes we offer, and our past work. They did a great job of diving into the complicated and varied services we provided.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Lion's Share Digital helped us create our first website from scratch. The team was responsible for the site's design and development, copywriting, Google Ads setup, landing page optimization, SEO, and integrating a new inventory management software.

We started the process by approving the homepage and then creating templates for the other pages. We sourced photos and combined our copy and photos on Figma for approval. We also worked together on keyword research.

They dove in deep and took lots of time to understand our needs and how to communicate our value-adds and our competitive advantage.

We worked with 5–6 teammates from Lion's Share Digital, including Jesse, who was the main project manager. Team shifts happen, and we understand; they kept things moving along through internal changes. All of the folks we interacted with were knowledgeable, patient, and positive throughout.

My boss knew Jesse from the creative community in Austin, so we had a personal connection with Lion's Share Digital.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We launched the website recently, so we don't have any metrics yet. However, we liked the new inventory software we integrated.

How did Lion's Share Digital perform from a project management standpoint?

Lion's Share Digital honored the budget but took longer than we expected. The process took about a year, and we thought it would take 3–4 months. The scope of the project proved more complicated than we thought, and the team recommended building many pages for SEO, so the website ended up being bigger.

For managing tasks, we utilized various tools, including Surfer SEO, Google Drive, Google Slides, and Figma. We also held many Zoom calls and communicated via email.

The team was very patient with our feedback and was always there to incorporate feedback, even when we had many tweaks we were proposing. Their team took our ideas in stride and clearly took time to research solutions for areas we flagged. They kept the ball moving with email updates, and their meeting note summaries kept us on track for what we needed to provide vs. what they were working on.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I liked the digital tools we used. Lion's Share Digital did a nice mix of using different automated AI tools and interviewing us to learn about our past work and clients. The team asked good questions, and the process felt more personal and tailored to our company.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, there weren't any.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Figure out the right flow for your website and come prepared with other websites you like to help streamline the design. Be prepared to know how you want the flow to go. Lion's Share Digital offers great advice, so think about the pages your customers will be looking for and your priorities. For instance, I wanted to have pages that I could send to brand agencies showcasing a lot of our brand work, as well as a page for conferences. It was helpful for my job to figure out what I wanted my website to do.

They were very easy to work with. They made the process accessible and doable for someone who may not know all he lingo and understand all the steps in the process. They were available for questions and phone calls. They were professional, but not overly so, if that makes sense. It felt like working on a project with friends more than a stiff corporate process. They took my ideas and input about style and design and created a beautiful site that uniquely reflects our company.

Honestly, .... I can't think of anything l would change.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Lion's Share Digital has built and redesigned our website. We started with a discovery phase, where we talked about our business goals and the design elements we were looking for. From there, Lion's Share Digital produced a work breakdown structure and proposal. Once we accepted it, we started the project.

Lion's Share Digital has taken elements from our existing website and transferred some content. However, the design and functionality of the new pages are brand new. They've also redesigned our website's navigation and consolidated many pages and content to expose a more comprehensive view of our community and school through how we place media and generate content on the site.

For key technologies, Lion's Share Digital has used the WordPress platform. We have a maintenance agreement with them, and they help us manage our hosting. We have a third-party hosting provider, but Lion's Share Digital helps us manage and maintain our site. The team is also responsible for our online marketing. They're in the middle of deploying our Google Ads strategy and the analytical tools to gather that data.

We have 7–8 people on the team, including the CEO, project manager, designer, coder, a QA team, and content generators.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We currently don't have enough metrics on the success of click-through rates or lead generation since Lion's Share Digital is presently implementing our strategy. We are more focused on driving traffic, so we are just now starting to get analytics, but it's looking promising. However, the site they've developed has had a normal number of bugs and issues, and Lion's Share Digital has efficiently addressed them. The website functions as expected, and Lion's Share Digital has exceeded my expectations.

How did Lion's Share Digital perform from a project management standpoint?

Their project management is efficient, considering the size of our project. Lion's Share Digital uses BugHerd to track issues and bugs; our interface with them is through that same tool. We also use email, Zoom, and Google Sheets. Most project tracking is done via spreadsheets, but our communications are mostly Zoom meetings.

Are there any employees from the service provider's team that you would like to give a shout-out to in this review?

Jesse, the owner, and Alicia, the customer success manager, have been excellent to work with.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their creativity is impressive. Lion's Share Digital understands our business objectives and culture. They've done a good job of understanding our community and presenting that through the media and content they generate on the website. This is super important to us because we're a faith-based school with a particular way of doing and presenting things, and they've excelled at grasping these requirements.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Their project management process is good, but it could be better. I understand how they work now, but clarifying their processes up front a little more transparently would have made things a little smoother.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Have your business requirements and objectives clearly defined. Understand what you're trying to get and be able to articulate those goals for them. Lion's Share Digital is good at picking up on those and expanding upon how to present them and translate them into a website that mirrors them.

We needed support with our marketing strategy and programs. Our goals are to increase the visibility of our website and brand and generate more leads.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Lion's Share Digital supports us with various marketing programs, including SEO, Google Ads PPC, email marketing, website updates, web design improvements, maintenance, and account-based marketing campaigns. They've also managed a tradeshow for us.

Initially, we went through a discovery phase during which they asked many questions about our ideal customer profile, what our product does, and how we measure our business and marketing metrics. We continue to update them at least once a quarter.

We work with the co-founder Jesse, who is assigned to our account for certain projects, and a designer who does all the design work for brochures, collateral, and website design. We also have someone who focuses on prints, a project manager who manages everything, and someone who does our web and program analytics. They are a small agency, so we use many of their people.

We found them on Clutch. They responded to our RFP, and we chose them because they were a small, agile company with a lot of talent and the expertise to do the things we requested.

We've been working together since June 2019, and the engagement is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

As a result of Lion's Share Digital's tradeshow management, we've got 220 leads. We've also seen a 300% increase in leads from a recent Google Ads campaign and increased our business in large enterprise accounts by 25%.

How did Lion's Share Digital perform from a project management standpoint?

Their strength is their ability to understand our problems and business requirements, and they continually redesign their programs to meet our objectives. They always deliver on time, use Asana and Jira for project management, and communicate excellently via phone calls and emails.

I want to give kudos to Jesse because he sets the stage for the whole company and ensures that everything is done well.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Lion's Share Digital has helped us with branding and web design and development. We have done a brand package. First, they conducted a call with me to talk about what I need, my goals, and what I think about the organization. I have sent them some ideas, and they have come up with a presentation that includes everything we need to look at for the brand, including drafts of logos, mock-ups, color palettes, and more.

We have iterated back and forth for a while, and then they have sent me the final package of all the branding materials, including logos, colors, and typefaces. After that, we have started working on the website. They have sent me a mock-up of the website that I can comment on and make suggestions on, allowing us to iterate. We went back and forth until we landed on the final design.

Finally, they've handled the development process using WordPress and set up Cloudflare. 

Currently, they continue to help me implement additional elements, ensure privacy policies are integrated into the site, and provide overall website maintenance services. They have also ensured I can either manage the website myself or reach out to them for help if needed.

I communicate directly with three people: Jesse, the owner, Alicia, the client success manager, and Alessandra, the lead designer. I think there’s a developer working on the project, but I don’t communicate directly with them.

I’m super happy with the website. It represents the organization very effectively. I’ve already gotten a couple of compliments from people who found the website through my LinkedIn. The project is doing what I need it to do.

How did Lion's Share Digital perform from a project management standpoint?

Their project management is a good mix of asynchronous communication with strategically timed calls. They use Loom to provide videos that go along with presentations. The videos walk me through some of the work that had been done in an asynchronous way, which is hugely helpful. I can engage with the videos when I want to instead of feeling like I need to do a call when it isn’t necessary, but I still know they are available if I need to talk with them through a live call.

They’ve provided immediate support when I’ve gotten confused on the backend with my domain provider. That’s been super useful and lightning-quick.

We use email, Figma, Loom, and text messages to communicate.

Are there any employees from the service provider's team that you would like to give a shout-out to in this review?

The entire team is amazing. Alicia keeps the project moving. She’s super responsive and awesome. Alessandra is fantastic. She’s able to take things I’m saying and do things with them that bring to life what I’m trying to accomplish.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Lion's Share Digital’s attention to the client and the project’s details is impressive. Alicia notices things on the design side and chimes in. It’s clear they’re working as an integrated team and can help out in each other’s domains when necessary or useful. It’s not siloed at all. I feel like they’re a team, and I’m part of that team. We’re all working on the project together.

Are there any areas they could improve?

There’s not really anything they need to improve. Some parts of the project have gone a little more slowly than I could have imagined, but never to a point where I’ve been concerned or upset.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

They’re making a good choice if they decide to work with Lion's Share Digital. They should be proactive and think of themselves as part of the team working on the project. That’s a good model to get good results.

I’m the marketing and social media manager at Event 360, a logistics company for nonprofits specializing in peer-to-peer events in the run, walk, and cycling areas. We travel around the country producing these events for our clients. I manage our brand and digital presence.

What challenge were you trying to address with Lion’s Share Digital?

Our goal was to refresh and redesign our website and update our brand. The last time we had done that was in 2017 or 2019, so we needed an update for 2024. 

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Lion's Share Digital provided us with a website redesign using Figma, a brand update, and SEO work. They redesigned our website to make it more user-friendly and easier to navigate. They also aimed to showcase our skills and the events we've done to better capture our clients' attention. The team also updated our brand to make us more hip for 2024 and in line with our competitors in the space.

We started with a series of three ignition calls during which we shared all our current assets, dreams, goals, other companies whose branding we loved, and our competitors. Lion's Share Digital then did a deep dive into us to establish our working relationship. From there, they mocked up our brand guidelines and started working on the website's wireframes. 

As for the website, we stuck with a similar wireframe regarding the pages, but Lion's Share Digital focused on making the flow and user journey a lot smoother. The goal was to make going from our client, case studies, services, and meet our staff pages a more intuitive process. During the ignition series, we had given them a couple of brands outside of our space whose UI/UX design we loved. Lion's Share Digital incorporated those elements into the website. 

During the ignition meetings, we dug into who our prospective buyer is, not only the decision-maker but also the person underneath the decision-maker who is most likely to see us. They focused on those two target audiences: first, the older decision-makers and the sites they were on, the celebrities they liked, and all the ins and outs of their world. Then, we had the younger demographics. 

From there, Lion's Share Digital gave us a brand to attract both the target audiences found in those initial sessions to help expand our brand's reach. The brand updates Lion's Share Digital did consisted of tweaks on color and shape. They didn't do a complete brand redesign. Lion's Share Digital updated three of our four primary colors, keeping our main blue color the same. They didn't change the logo, but they created a logo submark for us to use digitally when there's no room for our full logo. 

Lion's Share Digital also handled font updates for our digital and print materials. They also created pictograms for us to use in our digital presentations and case studies that we use with clients. The team provided us with an updated feel that we could use on our PowerPoint deck, our PDFs, and digital assets. As for the SEO work, the efforts were small. In tandem with Lion's Share Digital, we created a page to rank well with a keyword on our playbook. They helped us build a blog post that hit a lot of the keywords to get us ranked on that keyword.

We worked with Jesse, the owner, Alicia, the client success manager, and Alessandra, the lead designer; we worked most closely with them. Habib was the senior developer who did all our website build, though we didn't work directly with him.

We searched for website design companies on Google and sent out at least five RFPs. We ended up meeting with three companies, but Lion's Share Digital captured our attention the most. We loved Lion's Share Digital's digital presence, website, and case studies. Jesse and Alicia were amazing to work with, so we chose Lion's Share Digital. 

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together from November 2023–October 2024.

The website's functionality was excellent. We’ve seen more website visitors than before. The way our sales are set up, we're more of a word-of-mouth company than one that sells based on the website, but we've had more site visits, and our clients have said they're able to see our services and impact better than before. Our staff is excited about the new website, and we’re more excited to share it with our clients and community. Overall, everybody loves the website.

How did Lion’s Share Digital perform from a project management standpoint?

The Lion's Share Digital team delivered on time and within budget. Alicia was very organized and answered questions within 24 hours. No question was too small, and they made it easy for us to get the results we wanted. We communicated via email and video calls.

They worked around our schedule, which was really busy for us in the spring and fall, and we were the ones who threw wrenches their way. Our staff was sometimes out for 2–3 weeks traveling to events, and Lion's Share Digital kept things rolling and worked around us.

After the three ignition calls, the process was very streamlined. The way their structure was set up was incredibly helpful for teammates on our side who weren't experts in website design or UI/UX design. Lion's Share Digital made it really easy for us to keep the project going. The team shared updates using Figma, making it easy for us to navigate them and share feedback.

Jesse was genuinely willing to get to know us as a company and as people. He wanted to understand our goals for the website and the brand. He made all the efforts to get to know us, which helped define our partnership and gave us the results we were looking for.

Lion's Share Digital has redone our WordPress website from the ground up in a 4–6 month process. They've been in charge of the budget, designs, and layouts. The team has sent us samples and held meetings to go over their work. The team has also added the website copy, edited it, and made suggestions. They've pushed the website live and currently continue to tweak and monitor the website

The team also continuously works on SEO and adding things to the site so it stays relevant and updated.

How did you come to work with Lion's Share Digital?

We looked for a local web developer who didn’t have other lawyers’ websites. We didn’t like other web developers because they were developing other law firms in a similar business to us, which we thought would be a conflict of interest.

We got a referral and followed up with a Google search. Lion's Share Digital had a great portfolio with lots of other stuff that they’d done, but no firms that would be our competitors.

How much have you invested with them?

The website project had a $5,000 budget. We pay them a monthly fee of around $800–$1,000 for SEO and updates. 

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together around August 2023, the website went live in February 2024, and the engagement is ongoing.

Although our direct clients don't have internet access, their friends and family are finding us, and our business has gone up. We've also received compliments from other lawyers in our field, saying our website looks top-notch. It was important that the website be good on a phone, computer, or tablet. The way Lion's Share Digital has built the site, it looks great no matter what platform you’re looking at it on.

How did Lion's Share Digital perform from a project management standpoint?

They came in on budget. They've also been willing to work with our small budget, and we've gotten more than we paid for. They've let us know beforehand when there's going to be anything extra and delivered on time. We’re pretty demanding, considering we aren’t a big, high-dollar client, but we get treated like we are one. Lion's Share Digital presents samples and updates through Zoom. 

Are there any employees from the service provider's team that you would like to give a shout-out to in this review?

Jesse and Alicia are wonderful. They always respond very quickly to emails and phone calls. We've been very demandind for having such a small budget, and they've both accommodated us. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

We've worked with other providers in the past, and Lion's Share Digital's communication stands out. When working remotely with tech resources, it's easy to get scammed. We appreciate Lion's Share Digital's level of communication and being able to meet them via video calls as opposed to just by email, making sure we're not talking with some bot.

I’m having trouble thinking of anything they could improve on.

To make Lion's Share Digital's job easier, have an outline done in advance of the general pages on your website. In my case, my partner is a bit older and not as tech-savvy, so it was a bit of a challenge to get them on the same page. It’s no fault of Lion's Share Digital, but we could’ve used our time more effectively if we’d thought out an outline of the website in advance, such as each page's topic area.

We were able to grow our email list and instagram followers as well as track clicks and reach from our marketing campaign.
