I’m the lead technology consultant of Shayona Times Pvt. Ltd., a newspaper and media portal, available online and offline.

What challenge were you trying to address with iTechnoSol Inc.?

We needed help in implementing a new CMS.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

iTechnoSol developed our website and its required databases, and they used Node.js, AngularJS, Laravel PHP, and MongoDB. They also migrated our CMS and came up with a completely new structure. We worked with them on the ideation and strategy phase. 

Our publication is available in vernacular and English, and iTechnoSol created a content management model for our online elements. They help us with our social media marketing campaigns, as well as our SEO efforts —  they create on- and off-site solutions for our publication. 

What is the team composition?

We are working with 5–10 people from iTechnoSol. Chirayu (CEO) is our main point of contact, and we also work with a couple of team leads.

How did you come to work with iTechnoSol Inc.?

We had worked with iTechnoSol on earlier projects. For this engagement, we started with small tasks to build trust; since we are a media agency, we value timeliness. They were able to deliver, so we entrusted to them our CMS development.

How much have you invested with them?

So far, the cost is $20,000–$25,000. We work with them on a retainer model.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with iTechnoSol in January 2016, and it’s ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

iTechnoSol is up to date on the latest technologies, and they gave us a lot of innovative solutions for getting more online engagement. They’ve been instrumental in helping us connect with more readers by creating custom widgets and automating processes.

How did iTechnoSol Inc. perform from a project management standpoint?

They’re good with deadlines, and that’s never been an issue. They’ve always made sure that they delivered on time. We communicate through Trello, Slack, and email.

iTechnoSol is good in terms of coming up with budget-friendly solutions.

What did you find most impressive about them?

It’s their use of technology. We once had to develop a small demo, and we wanted to try upcoming technologies, including Flutter. We wanted to test a cross-platform solution, too. iTechnoSol was flexible enough to try out newer technologies and come up with a solution, rather than just focusing on their expertise. We didn’t deploy that solution, but they were ready to move into new technology.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Usually, they come up with solutions based on the problem statements I give them. I’d like them to be more proactive in suggesting what we should do. Otherwise, working with iTechnoSol is pretty straightforward. 

Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?

Being clear and precise on the problem statement will help you reach the finish line faster. I come from a tech background, so it’s easy for me to emphasize particular requirements, but that’s not the case with all clients. Having someone to gauge the project and put it forward will help in delivery and budgeting.
