Since the soft launch of the site, we have upgraded and changed a few key features which have set us back form fully launching the platform.

Initially we had 1-2 stand-up calls per week with the project manager and most of the time with a developer. Currently, we have 1 call per week with a full stacked developer/designer.

So far there have not been anything major. A few bugs which were fixed right away.

We had a series of interviews and meetings prior to starting work to discuss our goals and objective. We provided their team with access to our servers and software required for them to develop, conducted daily standup sessions and established a development sprint schedule that we still follow to this day.

A business development manager was assigned to be our initial point of contact and we were introduced to their CEO. Additionally, we mostly interacted with our front- and backend developers and UAT developer.

Within the 7 months we have worked with Innvonix, they have consistently delivered high-quality code that meets our business requirements. We have released several new version and completed many sprints and new features.

The project manager was easy to communicate with and provided regular updates through our chosen communication platform, Slack. We had video meetings as well every day for our standup. Almost everything was delivered on time and we received ample warning if a deadline wasn't going to be met and the valid, unavoidable reasons why.

Their mobile app development skills were outstanding and more than sufficient for our purposes. They also met all our knowledge requirements. They had excellent and consistent communication. Our relationship has become very friendly, trustworthy, and mutually beneficial.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

There have occasionally been times where miscommunications have led to discrepancies in achieving deadlines however these are not their fault, rather just a mistake, and we have both improved to address this as we move forward.

Exporting and calculating are very critical for our business, and Innovix Technologies was able to understand and execute the ERP project well. The new system enabled us to increase our savings and revenue.

We’re quite satisfied with their project management, as we’ve had no issues with the budget and the timelines — we’re looking at November as a potential launch window, so we’re well ahead of schedule in terms of deliverables.

We’re impressed with their technical abilities. I’m not bothered by costs or delayed timelines, I  care about the quality of the product, and they’ve delivered it well.

The most important aspect of their work is their honesty. They’re also highly responsive, reliable, and reasonably priced. I can go to bed knowing that someone is doing the work without letting it fall behind. They know what they are doing.

They could improve by learning more about western branding, legal structures, and quality expectations. It’s a cultural issue, though it’s not a big deal.

PlusGuests is a startup company creating a software platform for the rental business in Spain. It will provide an easy check-in system for short-term guests in HomeAway and Airbnb villas and apartments. I’m the founder and CEO.

What challenge were you trying to address with Innvonix Technologies?

Spain implemented a law that requires homeowners and property management companies to register all guests who rent villas or apartments. It’s a manual process where guests must provide their passports and ID information. We wanted to make that process digital.

What was the scope of their involvement?

They outlined the entire platform, documented everything, and showed me what modules we needed in a very professional manner. They did all the architecture work and development, as well as the prototype, frontend, and social media.

The first phase is complete, and they’re currently working on marketing.

I work with five people on a 25-person team, including an account manager, two marketing people, and some others who handle social media. I mainly interact with a person involved in business development, but have also worked with the owner as he’s participated quite a bit.

We started in April 2017 and were done three months later. I’m using the system now and we have more customers coming in. Some customers have requested some new features or changes.

Innvonix responds and solves problems very quickly. They’re really good at what they’re doing. They’ve delivered according to our timeline, cost estimates, and expected quality. I can’t think of a single thing they could be doing better.

How did Innvonix Technologies perform from a project management standpoint?

Their team is very professional. They have a clear plan and document everything. They tell me when they need something from me and provide time estimates for every task. We’ve had a few problems with bugs, but nothing major.

We’ve had meetings twice a week during intense phases. We mostly use Skype but have used Asana as well. They used Mantis during the testing phase. We also used Excel sheets for plans.

Quality, speed, and cost are all important in project management. They delivered on all three.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their project management and business development skills are outstanding. I haven’t seen that before.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They could clarify the set of tools earlier. We came in with Asana late in the project. Talking about the pros and cons of each tool would be nice. We made the right decision, but I’m not sure if it was well-thought through or if we just got lucky.

They’re fast and efficient, but you need to know what you want. You need to be able to focus because they are fast and professional. It’s going to be costly if the customer doesn’t meet those requirements.
