We contracted with Idea Theorem to redesign the customer-facing side of our website.

What was the scope of their involvement?

In addition to designing a logo for this platform, they designed the login pages, maintenance screens, and user dashboard. They established a completely new look and feel for the site. To complement the design work, we asked Idea Theorem for some HTML and CSS guidance, which they outsourced to another company. They currently continue to work on the site.

We work with one designer, one tester, and a project manager.

How did you come to work with Idea Theorem?

My superior conducted a search for designers. Agencies were asked to develop a proof-of-concept for the designs we had in mind. Out of all of them, Idea Theorem submitted the best work.

What is the status of this engagement?

We began working together in May 2018 and have finished the bulk of the design work. Now, we're having them increase the site’s functionality.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Our executive team has responded very well to the new design. It is clean, readable, and modern.

How did Idea Theorem perform from a project management standpoint?

Our project manager was quite attentive. We communicate through a series of conference calls and emails. They're quick to respond to inquiries, and the team delivers everything we ask of them.

What did you find most impressive about them?

We’ve used other designers in the past, and some of them can take weeks to deliver a project. The turnaround time is very critical for us. Idea Theorem delivers quality work more reliably than any other firm we’ve used.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Because the HMTL and CSS work was outsourced, that work was not performed on the same timeline as the redesign. There was a bit of a gap in communication as to when certain elements needed to be delivered.

Any advice for potential customers?

In order to save time during the development process, the scope should be clear from the beginning.

We worked with their client relations representative and several UX/UI designers. Our in-house resources served as the planning engineering team.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The new workflow and dashboard reduced the time and effort needed to collect cross-departmental information and follow up with resources. The updated process was seamless, user-friendly, and transparent. Furthermore, Idea Theorem’s collaborative approach kept costs manageable during each stage.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

They did user research and prototyping on site, while completing the UI design remotely. We used project management tools to track issues, deliverables, and design sprints. The team was very easy to work with, maintaining clear communication throughout the engagement.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

They collaborated closely with us to understand our targeted audience. During the partnership, their quick work, prototyping capabilities, and user-centered design stood out. We’ll definitely engage them again.

We needed help with our branding and UI/UX for the mobile app as well as the website.

What were your goals for this project?

We wanted to develop the logo and branding, build a seamless UX for the mobile app, and have them help us define our product features.

My team and I searched for freelancers online in the U.S. and U.K., to begin with. Having lived in Toronto before and knowing it was a growing tech hub, we decided to search for freelancers and agencies there.

We chose Idea Theorem after visiting their website and having them send us a quote along with a timeline. We also found them at the top of the lists for UX design companies in Toronto. They were the most cost-effective option and provided a shorter timeline in comparison to the others we researched and interviewed.

Our main focus was first to finalize the logo and brand identity of the product. Once that was completed, the UX and wireframing phase started for the mobile app, followed by the UI design phase. They later worked on the website.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Since we're an early-stage startup and Idea Theorem only worked on our MVP, we don't have any concrete evidence yet to show how effective their designs are. However, we can definitely say that our project is finally ready to be developed and that the designs look better than what imagined.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

The project was completely done remotely, so we only communicated online. Their team was highly responsive whenever we had any inquiries, answering our emails within a few hours if not less depending on the urgency of the matter. We were able to provide feedback on their deliverables and they’d effectively incorporate it into the changes. They were also very helpful in suggesting how to tackle certain issues or even display the designs made.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

I was blown away by how productive they were in terms of project delivery. They were able to complete logo design, branding, and UI/UX designs of our app and website in just a month. I was also impressed by their communication skills, which contributed to the project’s fast delivery.

Additionally, they were willing to adjust meeting times whenever necessary due to the time difference between us. They had an overall great work spirit and attitude when it came to the project. We knew we were in good hands will definitely be working with them again!

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We saw a quick turnaround from the UI Design Sprints. Within a month, both branding and UI design were completed including the implementations of any changes or feedback that our team provided.

The workflow was great, we had weekly check-ins and the Idea Theorem team provided us with on-time updates. Even including the time it took to implement changes, the turn around time was awesome.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

It was an absolute pleasure working with Idea Theorem's team. Their professionalism was only exceeded by their creativity; they created a beautiful and intuitive design end-to-end. Going through their UI design sprints, the turn around time was impressive.

Are there any areas for improvement?

There were assumptions made on either side on a couple of smaller items in the deliverables. As a result, we found out that the initial engagement didn't cover everything we thought. Once this concern was raised, they handled this professionally and suggested solutions to resolve any issue.

We wanted an intuitive user experience for our teachers and students. The initial focus was to set up the portal for one of the branches of the school.

They designed and developed a portal that allowed students to upload assignments, projects, and tests. At the same time, the teachers will be using this for student grades and announcements.

What outcomes or results can you share that demonstrate progress and/or success?

After the first few meetings, Idea Theorem got a better understanding of our project. They created a teacher persona and a student persona after interviewing some of our teachers and students. Once the requirements were understood, they started the wireframing and prototyping process, followed by the development stage. Once development was completed, the product was launched. A few teachers and students tested out the new portal.

How effective was the project management?

The project management was good. We had two touchpoints in a week.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Their human-centered design focus was great and helped us provide feedback. As a result, there were very few changes during the development phase.

What tips or recommendations do you have?

Development took a little longer than anticipated, and the project got delayed by a couple of weeks.

I’m the founder of Sports Branding Company. We help customer place their logos anywhere on a variety of sports goods. Everything we do is custom made and we also specialize in handmade goods.

For now, there are two goals: to help improve our branding and help build the e-commerce store in order to serve our customers better and increase our sales. This is part of the first milestone on the roadmap; there are other digital channels that we will be working together on later.

For now, we have finished with the branding, so we are on track and looking good. We’re currently going through the wireframing/prototyping stage of the e-commerce store.

Our team and theirs enjoy working together and we have weekly touch points for updates. If more details, discussions, or information is required, they reach out to us and let us know.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Idea Theorem has been a pleasure to work with. Communication is a strong point and their process has allowed plenty of back and forth between the teams. For anyone looking for a stunning, effective, and intuitive design customized to the uniqueness that every business needs to stand out, I recommend Idea Theorem wholeheartedly.

Are there any areas for improvement?

The project is still in progress, but so far, we’ve had a great experience. Initially, they did have a hard time catching up to our terminology but that’s expected when learning any new business.

Anon-profit organization, we were in process of developing a new online education portal for the Nurses. The goal was to customize the Learning Management System to meet the learning needs of our members (Nurses). We evaluated available LMS (Learning Management Systems) in the market and based on analysis, selected Docebo as platform of choice. 

Thereafter, UX UI designs were created followed by implementation / customization of the LMS platform, finally doing a Usability Testing to gather feedback from the end users. Key Deliverables:

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We got very positive feedback when we did the usability testing from the end users (Nurses), that the product was easy to use and navigate. They were able to customize the LMS system according to our internal stakeholder needs and were able to turn around the LMS customization in a timely manner.

Their project manager did a great job of having regular meetings with us, minimum once a week. Along with the meetings he also kept us informed through email and teams chat about the progress of the project.

Digital manager for a municipality about 3 million people. The municipal government has around 45,000 employees total, including seasonal employees. My role is focused on digitization initiatives across city services.

What business challenge were you trying to address with the vendor?

We needed to revamp our community center’s entire system and process to improve the experience of the staff and the vibrant community they serviced. Our current system was outdated and there was lot of manual steps in the process. We needed a complete end-to-end custom digital solution.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Scope of work involved doing the discovery, design and development end to end for the community center platform. This involved doing the user research and utilize the findings to put together a design that works well for the end user as well as the administrative staff. The community center portal had a key focus on the admin functionality as the administrative staff needed to operate the digital product day to day.

Team composition included close to 10 people from their team - designers, developers, analysts, account manager and project manager.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The community center portal has had a very positive impact on the end users (citizen of our municipality). The end users can sign up online for membership and also register their family for programs being offered in the community center. It also had a great impact for the administration staff, with analytics they can understand current state and plan better for future demand.

How did the vendor perform from a project management standpoint?

The project was planned very well. Once the discovery was complete, the focus was on design and then development of the modules.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The complexity of the project was quiet high since the community portal involved being citizen-centric for the front-end experience, and for the backend we needed to consider unique needs for the administration staff. Overall, the experience turned out great for the end user and administrator staff.
