I'm the CEO of a data science platform and product development company.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Evenion Technologies?

We were looking for a partner who could work on web development for our customers.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Evenion provided UI/UX design and web and mobile application development services. We engaged them in two projects.

They used PHP, React JS, and Node.js for web development. Also, they did some backend work for us.

What is the team composition?

For each project, there were 4–5 people. I worked directly with their technical architect, who was the main point of contact. We also worked with the CEO on the commercial side.

How did you come to work with Evenion Technologies?

It was a reference. I'm part of the Startup Leadership Program in Bengaluru, India, and we connected there.

How much have you invested with them?

On average, we spent a total of $25,000 on the two projects.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started the partnership in December 2020. The engagement ended in April 2021.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Our work was more of integration work, so we measured the level of understanding of our customers’ requirements, technology, and business logic. The second thing was the delivery of the work, and they delivered what was assigned.

How did Evenion Technologies perform from a project management standpoint?

Although the deliverable was fine, we weren’t happy with the project management. The developers were able to turn around when we put pressure on them, but they lacked organization.

Communication was typically through email, Slack, Google Meet, and WhatsApp. We didn’t use any project management tools; it was all on Excel.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They were flexible in how they worked with customers. Once the project was done, we asked them to give us one particular developer on a full-time payroll, and they were good with that.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Firstly, project management definitely needs to improve. Secondly, they need to define the scope. They don't get deeper before they start doing the work; they start at a high, superficial level. If they fix up the project management, I think they’d be able to deliver good work.

Any advice for potential customers?

Evenion is good at identifying the right skill set for you. Work with them on a retainer basis rather than giving them the project; that's the best engagement that you can expect from them.
