BACKGROUND

Please describe your company and your position there.

I'm the Head of Marketing at Southern Construction Ltd. Our core business is large scale home improvements, however we also work with private investors on small plot housing developments too.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

For what projects/services did your company hire Crakan?

We always need more customers (leads), because we are trying to grow our business. We've seen areas of the market which are dropping off and areas which are growing. We feel this is to do with the current climate. Therefore we met with the team at Crakan, we started with some consultancy work, then moved on to revamping our website. More specifically we decided on implementing a marketing funnel where by we can generate our own leads via the new website. Crakan was able to get all of this work done in house.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We wanted a local provider, and most importantly we wanted to talk about solutions and options - hash out what was possible. We didn't want to just say what we wanted, we wanted the experts to suggest what they thought would work best. Crakan was able to offer the consultancy we needed and it worked out very well.

Describe the project in detail and walk through the stages of the project.

We started with a consultation meeting. The account manager at Crakan came to our office, we discussed our current digital and marketing landscape, we discussed our needs and ambitions. They suggested a plan which three options, they were all along the same lines, just had different levels of commitment and routs to take. We choose the option which we felt like delivered the most in the shortest amount of time but also allowed us to build for the future. This was a new website, with lead generation landing pages for data capture allowing us to do paid advertising moving forward. After the planning, Crakan did all of the work, we had regular check-ins, but nothing too technical. Then 5 weeks later we had a new website (which we had the chance to refine and suggest changes before going live).

How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

At least two people worked with us, there is the planning and conusltanty side, then I think they had some very techy people work in the background.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

This new website, lead generation plan and activities have worked very well - we've seen a significant increase of web and phone leads. The quality of the lead is also much higher than we were expecting, which is a bonus.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

It was all seamless, they came to us - we discussed everything and they got to work. I had a sense of confidence, because this is clearly something have been doing for years.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The speed and professionalism. They understood our business and what we needed. They were happy to work with us.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

We are working on bringing Crakan in to the fold, to be one of our preferred providers. We are just discussing if this is a possibility.
