Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the project manager for a software company.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with AtomicSkills?

Our company was based on the idea of remotely sending medicines by connecting pharmacies with customers through online portals. Our problem was developing the software to allow customers to connect with a nearby pharmacy where they can order medicine in case of an emergency. We were looking for a software company that could help us build this idea.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

They first worked on the frontend designs of the different applications. After we approved them, we started working on the backend of the software. They provided a demo project that we tested. After that approval, the final phase of the product was to build the final application. They used Adobe XD for designing purposes. The backend was developed on our backend server using Laravel. MySQL database was used as well in the project.

What is the team composition?

We were in direct communication with the project manager. The team consisted of two designers, two frontend developers, and two backend developers.

How did you come to work with AtomicSkills?

They sent a proposal based on our idea and we accepted their proposal. What attracted us to them is that they keep everything documented and that it’s very informative. They openly gave us permission to interview their developers.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent $6,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together from February until March 2020.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

They gave us the results we were expecting and it was spot-on.

How did AtomicSkills perform from a project management standpoint?

Deadlines were a bit delayed because we kept changing the requirements. Other than that, everything was perfect. We were kept in the loop throughout the whole process.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their processes are strong. They’re very easy to understand.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They could keep the complexity down, but that wasn’t much of a worry for us.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Make detailed requirements. Be clear on what you want and it will make things easier.

We are working on an education app with them. They are currently creating iOS and Android applications along with an admin panel.

What was the scope of their involvement?

They’re developing iOS and Android applications along with an admin panel. Features include a news channel, chat option, job posting options, and options to find nearby teachers. They actually shaped my idea. I had no idea how to create an app, but they took care of the process and did the design.

What is the team composition?

There are about 20–25 people working there. I primarily worked with the CEO.

How did you come to work with AtomicSkills?

They contacted me via a Facebook message and showed me their work with other companies. I contacted those companies to get their opinions on AtomicSkills’ work, and I found that they were pretty happy. I decided to work with AtomicSkills, and they shaped my idea into an app and an admin panel.

How much have you invested with them?

We spend about $3,000–$4,000 per month.

What is the status of this engagement?

I’ve been working with them since February 2019 and the engagement is ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The prototypes are ready now and we expect to launch our apps in September.

How did Vendor perform from a project management standpoint?

We mostly communicated over the phone, and we emailed any necessary paperwork.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They’re very good at designing apps. I haven't seen the admin panel yet as they're still working on it, but I expect it to be finished soon.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, I don't think so.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Keep the communication flow going on. If you are missing communication, then you might need to make changes later on. But if you communicate at the time, then you can make those changes right away.
