The app was a success and customers liked it. We have made some additional revisions and enhancements.

I posted about my project on Facebook, and they responded. After communicating with them and receiving quotes, I chose them because they seemed knowledgeable and they fit my budget.

They developed the app for me. They were responsible for everything from the design, the backend, the development, and uploading it on the app store.

There was a point person and several engineers involved.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The results were great: I received a well-designed and functioning app at a quarter of the cost that other companies were offering. Overall, I’m very happy.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

It was good. We communicated over email, and when I had a quick question, I could message the point person on Facebook, and they would get back to me quickly.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

The quality of their work for the cost is extremely impressive.

Are there any areas for improvement?

Not really. The app was a side project for me, so I was not that stressed and demanding about it. It works as requested and they have been helpful with bug fixes and any other issues.

What were your goals for this project?

We wanted a stable, high-performing app with a small memory footprint. The app was supposed to make users more confident consumers and to increase downloads of our larger software system.

How did you select this vendor?

We found them through an online search. We shortlisted several international companies that we then interview. Agicent App Company India best met our vendor criteria and our project needs.

Describe the project in detail.

The overall system—called Location Driven Marketing—consists of two parts: Discount Locator, which faces the consumer; and Location Driven Advertising, which allows advertisers to create messaging and produce campaigns based on geography, product type, and language. Location Driven Advertising delivers content directly to users of Discount Locator when those users are nearby a purchase location. Agicent App Company India built these features into the Discount Locator

What was the team composition?

We worked with a project manager, a business analyst, a database analyst, and a few integration developers.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The app has received tens of thousands of downloads and achieved top rankings in the Google Play store. It has also been bug-free for the past year.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

The project proceeded smoothly; Agicent App Company India never wasted time. Engagement from high-level leadership helped solve critical issues.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Their team is highly knowledgeable and delivered high-quality products on time. We’re genuinely pleased with their work and will continue to collaborate with them.

Are there any areas for improvement?

They stand to improve in communications, but overall, we’re thrilled with our partnership.

I'm the owner and founder of a driveway parking reservation platform. We take privately-owned spaces—whether a single space attached to a house or an entire private downtown parking lot—and allow drivers to rent it on an hourly, daily, or monthly basis.

What challenge were you trying to address with Agicent App Company India?

We hired them to build a web- and iOS-based platform.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

I created the wireframes and gave Agicent App Company India the design mock-ups. These documents outlined every function and location for the buttons. The then programmed the app and obtained approval from the App Store.

What is the team dynamic?

I worked with the co-founder, business director, and a developer. The business director was in charge of acquiring customers and securing signed contracts.

How did you come to work with Agicent App Company India?

I requested recommendations in a Facebook technology group for an inexpensive app development company. Agicent App Company India reached out to outline the project’s processes and stages. I approached a few American vendors, but they cost much more than Agicent App Company India. I hired them after reviewing their website and portfolio over a 4-6-month period.

How much have you invested in them?

I spent $7,000. The original agreement called for $1,500 biweekly payments.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in May 2017 and the partnership ended in April 2018.

How did your relationship with Agicent App Company India evolve?

The team promised a three-month timeline, but the project took nearly a year. This delay prevented me from scheduling the release during a major local convention. Eventually, I ended the contract and requested the source code; I intended to find a new vendor. They were unhappy, but polite and apologetic about the experience.

Describe the impact this engagement has had on your business.

Agicent App Company India released the code, but I couldn’t access or edit my informational website. They requested a $300 monthly maintenance fee to let me make changes. The vendor found several bugs in the code, which surprised me because the solution did look good and functioned most of the time. However, I cannot launch the app until the new developer completes all fixes. In the end, Agicent App Company India did not meet my expectations for professional app development services. The e-commerce component lacked the APIs and payment system features I envisioned. They could only provide a PayPal integration.

How was project management handled?

They didn't provide many updates. I had to contact them constantly to ask how things were going. I went for a month without hearing anything from them, which made me a little nervous. I'm sure they have multiple customers, but every customer is important.

Is there anything that the vendor did well or that you would consider a strength?

I wouldn’t use the team again, but they're nice people. During the engagement, I never felt negativity from them. I was nervous going into the project and did not achieve my goals. However, I don’t feel cheated in any way.

In what specific areas can they improve?

They should be clear and concise about their ability to meet goals. I would rather work with someone who honestly tells me the project will need to take longer. There was a slight communication barrier, but it wasn’t a problem for me.

What advice do you have for clients with similar needs to yours?

Research offshore vendors thoroughly before engaging them. But even with proper research, clients are still taking a chance.

Their company BD rep reached out to me via social media. We exchanged contact information and several emails back and forth before finalizing a contract for services. After our communication I felt confident and comfortable in their abilities.

Our contract has ended and all work was completed as per the agreement.

How did your relationship with the vendor evolve?

Our relationship evolved from slight hesitation on our end to feeling confident and trusting of their company. 

How did Agicent App Company India address the challenges that arose?

Communication from Agicent and their team was prompt and direct. Whenever I had questions, they were always willing be available for Skype calls or emails to answer my concerns. They kept me updated on the development progress by providing notes every 2-3 weeks. 

Describe the impact this engagement has had on your business.

Agicent provided Drivewey Technologies with an inexpensive way to build the early version of our mobile platform. This enabled our company to attract early adopters and pilots. Using Agicent saved our company tens of thousands in early development costs. 

How was project management handled?

PM was handled equally by both company’s to address features and functionality. Communication was the biggest issue but their team members were always available to make sure the code matched the requirements. 

Is there anything that the vendor did well or that you would consider a strength

The vendor’s strength is their in-depth experience in software development. I appreciated the fact that if they didn’t know how to do something they were upfront about it but learned and found a solution to meet requirements. 

In what specific areas can they improve?

A very minor but expected area of improvement was using incorrect grammar in the mobile app and matching company website. I addressed these issues and were fixed immediately. 
 
What advice do you have for clients with similar needs to yours?

Everything has been very professional and honest working with Agicent; they provided receipts with all monetary transactions, answered e-mails quickly, and provided clarity to all of my questions. If you’re looking for a company with solid communication, in-depth software engineers, and want to build a custom-coded mobile app I would choose Agicent App Company India.

At the same time, we hope that you appreciate that the major functionality was well-done and on time. Only the payout functionality dragged the timeline; we had to work around that issue a lot.

The project cost was a fraction of our normal pricing because we always encourage young startups. We request that you kindly appreciate this as well.

Regarding the new developer, you didn’t request a knowledge transfer to that party. Had you done so, we would have made it easier for them to compile the code and use functions. We can still help with anything (happily) if needed.

I’m the owner and founder of Helpknob, an on-demand servicing platform for delivery, personal, and home-based needs.

What challenge were you trying to address with Agicent?

I had the vision and workflow of the app in mind, but I needed a team to take my ideas and write the code for the technology.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Agicent took my workflow concept and both developed and tested the app, which is for both Android and iOS. They also provided design work, UI/UX, and other components.

The app involves a sign-up process for people who want to be the helpers or service providers, and then a separate workflow for the entire app. It has a background admin tool that manages all the information, so a user can manage the incoming requests, review them, and accept them. All of the portions are connected to one another, and Agicent built that system. Other features include a conversation log between helper and customer and secure payment built into the app.

What is the team composition?

I worked with the developers and also the managing directors of the company. My primary contacts were the managers, but I talked with the developers to facilitate my vision being built into the actual work.

How did you come to work with Agicent?

I found a few companies online, reached out to them, and thought Agicent to be the best. I was looking for a company that wasn’t too expensive and that would be willing to work with a startup. I talked to the managing directions and the understood my work, so I hired them.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started in 2015, and the app launched at the end of December 2017.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We went fully live at the end of December, so we don’t have any real user data yet. Before that, we were testing, and we had to make quite a few changes and additions. I’m satisfied with the finished product, and they’ve offered to fix any bugs or do small updates. They stand by their product, and that makes me trust them.

How did Agicent perform from a project management standpoint?

They were good at project management. My initial goal was to launch the product much faster than I actually did. During the process, Agicent was significantly helpful and responsive, and they continue to offer their help or answer questions.

We mainly communicated by email and phone calls, but we sometimes used Skype. We also tested the app in the dev platform together.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Working with a startup requires patience, and Agicent was encouraging and friendly. They motivated us in a way that other companies probably wouldn’t have. They were excited about the product and accommodated my needs and goals.

Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?

It takes a significant amount of effort to coordinate with an offshore team. You need to have effective communication and be willing to accept changes to your plan. If you can, track your goals and targets to better manage them.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Agicent Technologies is developing our iOS app based on our specifications. We created the design ourselves, but Agicent Technologies did work on individual pages.

We mostly interacted with one or two contacts from Agicent Technologies’ team.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with Agicent Technologies two or three years ago. The development time was around one year, going from base development to launch. We have gone through multiple versions of the same basic product, and are still creating iterations of it. The platform was launched, but we took it down for some revisions six months ago, including updated graphics for displaying the nutrients of various foods. Our pricing model has been altered as well.

Could you share any evidence that would demonstrate the productivity, quality of work, or the impact of the engagement?

The app was live and had a user base. Based on the feedback we received, we decided to make some modifications to it. Agicent Technologies responded to our requests.

How did Agicent Technologies perform from a project management standpoint?

We had some Skype meetings, but most of the communication was handled through email, on an as-necessary basis. There have been portions of time with no activity surrounding the app.

We have used one other app developer in the past, for an app which wasn’t ultimately launched. I am satisfied with Agicent Technologies’ work, in comparison. They are a bigger firm and had many more specialists for a variety of fields.

I am at the point of needing more marketing help, but this is not one of Agicent Technologies’ focuses. As far as the technical side goes, I am satisfied with Agicent Technologies.

We are a non-profit organization based in California. We provide early developmental tools for children with autism. Our first product was released to the app store in 2015. We're a relatively young and small, volunteer-based organization. Our product is called Ico and Ivor Animation for Autism. It presents simplified animations, which serve as tools for parents to engage with children, teaching them basic developmental skills. I am a co-founder of the company.

What challenge were you trying to address with Agicent Technologies?

We developed 60 minutes of animated video content over the last 2 years and were looking for an app development partner that could help us take that content and package it into a smartphone and tablet app. We didn't have the tech skills to do it alone or do it at all, really. We relied on them from design to development. 

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Agicent Technologies has built the iPad version of our app. We've continued to work with them past the initial contract for an Android phone and tablet version. The videos are embedded within the app, and there's an option to download locally or stream them. Our app is specific to the population that we serve, children with autism, and presents a couple of ways of watching animations: either full episodes or scenes or in an interactive mode. There are pauses embedded within videos, with instructions which pop up, and facilitate interactions between parent and child. They usually happen after a basic skill is modelled in the video.

Agicent Technologies built a backend admin panel for us, allowing our team to track data like app usage, as well as respond to questions.

We don't have any developers on our team, but a friend worked on the first episode. He had a limited skill set, and created a pilot of the app, showcasing how we wanted it to function. Agicent Technologies took that and found a better internal logic for the app.

We worked closely with a lead engineer from Agicent Technologies. On the development side, I would guess that there are an additional 4-5 people working with him.

How did you come to work with Agicent Technologies?

We went through a lot of upfront research in order to find a partner who really believed in our mission and could offer an affordable rate, as we're a small nonprofit and rely heavily on donations. After a screening process with Agicent Technologies over Skype calls, we came to like what they brought to the table. We also contacted a few references who spoke highly of Agicent Technologies, and checked out a few of their products.

How much have you invested with Agicent Technologies?

The total cost of our project with Agicent Technologies has been between $15,000 and $20,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with Agicent Technologies in August 2015. The iOS version was released at the beginning of December 2015, and the Android one came out in July 2016. Agicent Technologies has many talented developers who can create a wide variety of products, and we hope to continue working with them. We're looking to further develop our app and add additional episodes, which will be available in around a month.

Could you share any evidence that would demonstrate the productivity, quality of work, or the impact of the engagement?

Agicent Technologies allowed us to take our product and bring it to market on the Apple App Store and Google Play. They've supported us throughout the process. We're in the range of around 1,000 downloads and are still trying to build traction. We've gotten great testimonials so far and are excited to bring in additional content.

How did Agicent Technologies perform from a project management standpoint?

The collaboration has been fairly informal. I didn't feel the need to put project tracking tools in place. Agicent Technologies has been very responsive, and we've checked in frequently over email. Every few weeks, we jumped on a Google Hangout in order to provide feedback. Agicent Technologies released test apps for us to try out internally and has been responsive to our inputs.

What did you find most impressive about Agicent Technologies?

This was the first full-fledged app development partner that we've worked with, so I don't have a large comparison point. Agicent Technologies' customer service has been great, which is one of the main reasons for choosing them over other options. Agicent Technologies bought into what we were doing, and was responsive to all of our requests.

Are there any areas Agicent Technologies could improve?

The creativity on Agicent Technologies' end has been great from the start, but there were opportunities in which they could have taken different directions based on our input. We're not experts in the app world, so we'd love to continue having multiple out-of-the-box solutions to solving problems.

We are a student startup with a focus on calculating the probability of a person going to an event, based on their calendar availability and the type of activity. I am a founder of the company.

What challenge were you trying to address with Agicent Technologies?

We needed to quickly build a minimum viable product but didn't have the resources to do so. 

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Agicent Technologies built the first version of our iOS app. In the interest of time, we came to build iOS and Android versions in tandem. At the time, I was a student and wasn't completely aware of everything required in order to successfully outsource a project. Agicent Technologies helped out in this regard, assisting me in creating requirements based on API libraries, a basic understanding of what our app needed to do, as well as designs and graphics. Agicent Technologies provided a working product, which was nice.

It was a large application with over 16 screens and multiple data models which interacted with a number of Google APIs, as well as our backend. The application was essentially built on top of Google Calendar.

We built the Android version in-house and continued to develop the work done by Agicent Technologies.

We worked with a team of 4 developers from Agicent Technologies. I'm not positive in this regard, but we interacted with at least 3 of them, as well as with our project lead.

How did you come to work with Agicent Technologies?

Our company partnered with the University of Pennsylvania, offering a reverse-auctioning site for development projects and outsourcing. We listed our requirements and received replies from a number of top-sourcing agencies, willing to provide the service within a timeframe and budget. We ended up choosing Agicent Technologies because they had good reviews on the site, and presented us with an acceptable offer.

How much have you invested with Agicent Technologies?

We have spent a total of $8,000 on Agicent Technologies' services.

What is the status of this engagement?

Our project was put on pause while updating the backend, in order to stabilize end-points. The total development time was 4 and a half months. Our overall cost did not change over the duration, but we changed installments because of the break in the middle.

Could you share any evidence that would demonstrate the productivity, quality of work, or the impact of the engagement?

Agicent Technologies provided a very stable build, which conformed to my designs. Overall, Agicent Technologies gave me a functional and accessible product.

How did Agicent Technologies perform from a project management standpoint?

Agicent Technologies was very good at time management. We used Trello on our side but didn't implement any tracking tools for Agicent Technologies. I didn't look into their development process very much. Whenever there was a question or concern, we'd talk about it. Agicent Technologies provided new builds with each payment installment.

What did you find most impressive about Agicent Technologies?

Agicent Technologies was easy to work with, from a first-time outsourcing perspective. I know that there are concerns in working with people across other countries, but I found Agicent Technologies to have integrity and to be very reliable and trustworthy.

Are there any areas Agicent Technologies could improve?

The only concern I had was with spelling errors for some methods. The commenting done within the coding wasn't as good as I wanted it to be. I didn't give Agicent Technologies an adequate write-up. They had to come up with much of the specs by themselves, so I can understand these limitations. The language barrier also caused discrepancies in the naming.

‎I am the founder of HASfit, an online fitness platform. Our company transcends multiple verticals, from web to mobile devices to social media. Workout videos are our main draw.

What challenge were you trying to address with Agicent?

I have an extensive development background. ‎HASfit is more of a passion project for me, so I decided to build it through a consultant agency.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

I handled the UX/UI design while Agicent handled development for the iOS and Android versions of my app. Both versions were developed in parallel and launched at the same time. Agicent helped with the publication process. I had some prior experience in this field, but I appreciated Agicent's help. Our web platform is based on the WordPress CMS.

How did you come to work with Agicent?

One of Agicent's founders was a user of our product. He reached out to me at a time when we didn't have a mobile application and started a conversation. I figured that there wouldn't be a better person to make the product than one who is currently using it. At the time, I did some high-level research online. I downloaded several of the applications developed by Agicent and everything seemed to check out. 

What is the status of this engagement?

Our apps were launched in 2014. From beginning up till they were submitted to the stores, the development took 5 months. Agicent worked very fast, considering that we worked on Android and iOS versions in parallel.

Could you share any evidence that would demonstrate the productivity, quality of work, or the impact of the engagement?

I wanted to create an app which would be able to update itself and pull information from our existing database. Agicent came up with a great way to solve our problem. They very cleverly tied into the WordPress API and were able to extract updated information for the app. As a result, I haven't had to update the app in 2 years; it takes care of itself. To this day, the iOS and Android versions have maintained 4.7 and 4.8 ratings. Those ratings are from more than 2,000 reviews.

How did Agicent perform from a project management standpoint?

The budget was never increased throughout the course of the project. The timeline was maintained as well. We didn't use any project management tools at the time since 2 to 3 years ago, this wasn't necessarily the standard. We operated in a more old-fashioned way. I was also the only contact on our end, which made it easy to simply use email. I've interacted with 3 resources from Agicent on a regular basis, but I don't know the exact size of their team.

What did you find most impressive about Agicent?

One of the most noteworthy things about Agicent has been their response time over the last 2 years. There have been little bugs which arose along the way and there will always be an iOS update which catches everyone off-guard. None of this has been Agicent's fault, but they've been very responsive each time. To the best of their ability, they resolved issues within 24 hours. This was all included in the initial budget, so Agicent has held up to the agreement and then some.

Are there any areas Agicent could improve?

I have no negative critiques. Agicent was very professional, everything was delivered on time and within the specifications that I gave.
