We needed to rebuild our website in a new platform as the version of Umbraco we are using is at end-of-life. The new website needs to be created and delivered to live with no impact on Organic positioning and with as few 301 redirects as possible. The brand name and colour palette will remain the same and every piece of the site should be reflecting these 3 key company values:

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Since we went live with our new CMS we've experience no loss in site visibility or a drop in keyword rankings. This is practically unheard of, which is a testament to the hard work Web Bureau put in to migrate our site safely.

Project management team were excellent. They led each meeting we had, followed up after with notes, key actions, deadlines etc and there were multiple call and email check-ins outside of the weekly stand-up. Everything was delivered on time and went above and beyond to deliver what we needed.

They really know their stuff, the dev team delivered some complicated pieces of work, dealing with some historic code that was quite tricky unpick. The site launched with no downtime or loss in performance which again shows how experienced they are.

No, it was a pleasure working with the team. They made, what could have been, a very complicated and stressful project, fairly straightforward and enjoyable. They really went above and beyond and we're looking forward to working on future projects with them.

I am the Project Manager for Mills Fuels based in a rural area of Northern Ireland. We supply our customers with the delivery of Home Heating Oil, Red Diesel for agricultural vehicles, and a range of other fuels such as Coal, Wood, etc .

For what projects/services did your company hire Web Bureau, and what were your goals?

We are a family run business that has been trading for over 50 years. The vast majority of our customer base, consists of elderly farmers living in our rural community. Most orders that we receive are either from customer face to face visits, or via the telephone. We have been increasingly aware that our business needs to modernise by embracing IT, and by doing so, hopefully securing customers outside of our immediate area. We discussed this within the family, and we decided the best way to achieve this was by having an e-commerce website.

We did some market research on suppliers of Web Services within the Oil Industry, and that led us to Web Bureau, in terms of product quality and value for money. Our goals in implementing a website are very clear and objective; we are seeking an increase of our customer base numbers, along with a growing level of financial return by an increase of customer orders. We have set a target on our sales of an increase in year 1 of 10% with similar increases in future years.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We carried out some market research by speaking with others within the oil industry, to see which supplier they used, and how they fared in terms of product quality, cost, and deliverability, eg timescales etc. We also carried out some research on-line to look at sites where IT suppliers had developed web-sites.

This gave us the opportunity to 'get a feel' for the websites on offer. We approached 2 suppliers asking them to provide us with a detailed quotation and specification. Web Bureau was chosen as our preferred supplier following this rigorous process.

We had in-depth discussions with the MD at Web Bureau, and also with the Project Manager that would be assigned to our Project, to clearly list our requirements and the stretching timescales underpinning our project. Web Bureau provided us with an in-depth proposal which covered every area associated with the development of a web-site, and they acted superbly as an 'informed supplier' by listing every step that would be required of us, and the steps that they would take.

The Project was broken down into various stages eg Scoping, Customer Requirements, Development, Interface with existing systems, KPIs, Deliverables, etc. Some of our key deliverables related to Design, Page Content, Userbility, 'Look & Feel', Customer key strokes, Ease of use, Interface with our existing systems and processes eg Payments process, Costs, and timescales.

How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

Our main contact point was the Project Manager appointed to us within Web-Bureau, and he was a constant throughout. His personal support, knowledge, help and advice, was truly noteworthy. There were also a number of developers working in the background designing and developing our web-site, and also working on the interfaces with our current systems.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

The web-site developed by Web Bureau meets or exceeds all of our expectations and targets. All timescales were met, as were costs. The web-site achieves all of our deliverables and KPIs. As the site has only just gone live, and we have not yet carried out a 'hard launch' it is too early to measure the overall detailed project deliverables in terms of Customer Numbers, and Sales Income. We are however confident that these will be achieved.

The style adopted by the PM at Web-Bureau fully met our requirements. Most contacts were by telephone, email, or Zoom Calls. These were always timely, relevant, and output related.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The web-site developed met all of our requirements, and is very Customer friendly and interactive. Web-Bureau provided us with staff training which allows us to make 'day to day' changes to the site as we require eg pricing etc. Web-Bureau were impressive throughout the process, and clearly are 'leaders' in their field. We have no hesitation in highly recommending them.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

All of our requirements were met or surpassed. The speed and quality of their work were tremendous.

Simply Telecom tasked Web Bureau to drive growth into our existing sales strategy. In particular, we wanted to ensure our new offering in VOIP & Business Mobile services were getting traction from major UK and Irish cities (London, Manchester, Birmingham, Glasgow, Dublin, etc) Web Bureau managed to achieve this from PPC, SEO and Social Media Advertising. Mainly Facebook & Instagram.

Given the scale of Web Bureau (team size of circa 40) they were able to deploy a team to suit of campaign. The Digital Marketing Manager worked with us to understand our goals and define the strategy. We also had direct contact with specialists in each field – Paid Search, SEO & Social Media Advertising. Along the way, some of Web Bureau’s Creative team also contributed with campaign artwork and website design.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

• Websites visits increased considerably.
• Incoming leads from each of the digital channels also increased significantly.
• Traffic & enquiries from our target regions all surpassed our expectation.
• We monitor ROI for the campaign and are pleased to say that the investment was greatly outweighed by the return.

Project Management and general comms from Web Bureau were all good. We were appointed with a suitable Digital Marketing Manager along with 2 of his team working on our campaign. As well as the weekly communication, we also got presented with new ideas to help grow our business along the way.

Web Bureau have an impressive breadth of knowledge in all things digital marketing. They were also able to help advise on website improvements in order to help conversion & lead generation.

One factor that helped us settle on selecting Web Bureau was there awareness of the commercial impact of the campaign. Other agencies we have spoken to talk about reach, engagement etc but seemed to miss the most important part – the commercial results. Web Bureau understood this from the get go.

We were experiencing a fair amount of success, noticing high levels of engagement following their work. It’s been tough to judge since the outbreak of COVID-19, but up until then, we could tell Web Bureau’s strategies were quite effective.

Web Bureau performed very well. The team was always available when we needed them, and they gave us great feedback and direction. We mostly communicated through email, and we had a couple of conference calls.
