I’m the director of marketing at Marous Brothers Construction, a multi-generational commercial construction firm. We provide high-quality building services and project delivery systems for significant regional projects, focusing on craftsmanship, integrity, and community impact.

What challenge were you trying to address with thunder::tech?

We needed a new expanded website that would more effectively showcase our company and portfolio of projects.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

thunder::tech redesigned and expanded our WordPress website. The team handled all the design and development and provided CMS training. The team focused mainly on the website design and development.

We worked with 2–5 teammates from thunder::tech.

How did you come to work with thunder::tech?

thunder::tech’s CEO stopped in and met me. We chose them because they had high ratings, were close to my geographic location, and had a great culture fit. Additionally, our company and CEO had done business with them in the past.

What is the status of this engagement?

We collaborated on this project from July 2024 to March 2025.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We received a brand-new, beautiful, modern website with expanded functionality and the ability to manage it completely in-house. Our website traffic has doubled year-over-year from the previous website. In addition, our inbound leads are up, utilizing the new website submission form.

How did thunder::tech perform from a project management standpoint?

Our project management was a little up and down. The project was delivered about three months late due to various circumstances, including changes to their team. The first three months at the design stage were good. Then, during the last three months at the development stage, the project management was very good. However, there was a lull in the middle portion. To be fair, that was also during the holidays. We communicated through virtual meetings, emails, and messaging apps.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The quality of thunder::tech’s website design and development was impressive.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They could have communicated better to manage expectations.

I’m the marketing communications manager of a manufacturing company. We design, manufacture, and distribute clean drinking water systems, including bottle filling stations, drinking fountains, and filtration solutions. We serve global markets with a focus on innovation and sustainability for over 115 years.

We needed a full-service agency to assist with digital updates for our website. We had a complex ask for our outdated web platform.

What was the scope of their involvement?

We have many projects constantly open with thunder::tech across multiple areas. They’ve updated the UX design of our website’s landing pages. They’ve also developed and managed a customer-facing portal for accessing order information, including tracking, purchase orders, and inventory.

Moreover, thunder::tech has managed our paid advertising campaigns for specific markets and messaging. They’ve also provided direction on the messaging, managed the campaigns, and made recommendations for continued adjustments.

In addition, thunder::tech has integrated data sources into our website, managed our SEO optimization, handled videography and photoshoots, and overseen our security and hosting.

We’ve worked with 6–10 teammates from thunder::tech. There are many involved with each project.

How did you come to work with thunder::tech?

I had a referral from someone who was an intern with them a long time ago, as well as a referral from a previous coworker. We knew we would have a complex ask for our outdated web platform and needed a full-service agency to assist with digital updates for our website.

thunder::tech had the expertise to deal with our outdated web platform. The software we use isn’t commonly known, and they were able to address and update all our issues. While they’re on the higher end of the cost, their full-service capabilities were key for finding the right partner to assist our smaller marketing team.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with thunder::tech in September 2023, and our partnership is ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

thunder::tech has completed and launched the ordering portal. They’ve also launched the updated UX designs and features built out on our website. Moreover, they’ve connected data from our CMS and PIM to our website. We’ve seen an increase in clicks, impressions, and engagement from our paid lead generation campaigns.

User feedback has been key for us. We’ve heard that the portal is easy to use and helpful as a sales tool. Like every project there are bumps in the road with many cooks in the kitchen however we were able to navigate with a almost weekly meeting with my team and developers to address and proritize feedback.

How did thunder::tech perform from a project management standpoint?

thunder::tech does a pretty good job with project management. As mentioned before, there have been some challenges with the portal, and the delivery has been delayed. However, this has also been due to changing expectations on my end for that project.

Regarding advertising, the project management is good. However, I’m not seeing as many leads as I thought. Still, we have pretty limited parameters around the campaigns that are being run.

For web development, I’m pleased with the project management and responsiveness from both the support team and individual developers.

What did you find most impressive or unique about them?

thunder::tech’s knowledge base is impressive. It’s nice to work with a professional team that can help in multiple areas of our business. When I was looking into them, that was what first attracted me to thunder::tech: their professionalism.

We had experienced the opposite from a previous developer. thunder::tech came in and shined. I didn’t have any issues introducing them to our corporate company to address issues found from previous developers on the site. thunder::tech had a plan of attack to address all those issues.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I’m happy with thunder::tech’s web development. I would say that paid advertising is still an ongoing learning curve for us personally. We’re not seeing the exact results, but again, it could be due to the limitations in place for the campaigns.

After working through the communication challenges for the portal (again, some of those challenges are on our side), we’ve successfully accomplished the task at hand.

Our company was moving from an underfunded and outdated .net environment to Kentico and needed expertise in developing and building out the website. Thunder::Tech took us from concept to finished project (Phase 1). We are in the process of launching Phase 2.

Development of a custom site on Kentico that allows our development team to take over the reins. Work ranged from discovery and buildout to SEO and guiding us through bringing the site live.

We had to combine 4 existing product brand websites into one new website under a new umbrella brand name. We had to develop a new online look and feel for the brand. We had to introduce industry-based strategies, highlight hundreds of products and an overview of numerous services.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Thundertech met every single deadline including launching on time under a very aggressive schedule. There were no problems with the launch. The lead generation function worked as expected on Day 1.  Reaction to the site has been highly positively from internal and external stakeholders.

Project management was excellent. They were detail-oriented, good communicators, and very thorough.

Great combo of being able to design websites like pros and being able to program the back end as envisioned and promised.  They all worked well together as a team on their end.

The project manager acted, in essence, as an account manager as well, so I am not 100% certain everyone was needed on their end, although there was likely a lot behind the scenes we did not see as clients. So really, it is hard to say where they could improve because the project went so well.
