What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

They were very good at responding to feedback and understanding what I wanted. I’m very satisfied with the finished product. 

How did Techuz perform from a project management standpoint?

They were okay. There were some delays with timing; it certainly took longer than expected, but that tends to happen with coding projects, so it wasn’t a huge surprise. They probably could’ve had a more automated system in place, but otherwise, project management was fine. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

I was very happy with the final product. I’ve also been happy with their follow up; they help me with bugs or minor changes I’ve needed if the site isn’t working as expected.  

Are there any areas they could improve?

I think the biggest criticism would be that it took a lot longer than expected, and there were delays.

Any advice for potential customers?

I would say to have an idea of what you want, but they’re pretty good at working with feedback. Go back and forth; they respond well to feedback and make changes to ensure you get exactly what you want.

We are a newly startup based in Singapore, creating a modern day entertainment profiling & booking platform to allow easier access for the public to browse and engage local entertainment acts and vendors using modern day digital technology advancements.

For what projects/services did your company hire Techuz?

We hired Techuz to create a web development project for our the Antgage platform and are still working together to better the product for our users. We are looking into having them develop our mobile application in the near future.

What were your goals for this project?

The platform had to be very comprehensive but yet user friendly to both our Entertainment Accounts and as well as public accounts. The structural flow had to been in line with each other so that we will not encounter problems with loopholes and abuse.

How did you select this vendor?

We shortlisted a few vendors before the commencement of the project in late 2018. By speaking to them over the phone about our project goals, we flew down to their head office to have a final discussion and agenda meeting before finally decided on engaging them to be our project vendor.

From design, development, QA and testing were all done before going live. Not only that a lot of consultation advises were given to us also based on their experience in the market to help us decide on issues that we needed to know. I would say that from beginning till the end and the after service was handled very well by the team.

Headed by Ankush, the project manager, he handled almost everything for our project. Besides him, we was in contact with their full stack developer on minor issues. The project manager was in full control about our project and we were very satisfied with it.

The project has been launched in our local market with very positive sign up rates and the news about this new platform is on a rise.

We are currently making it a complete platform with our continual developmental changes. We believe that this project will go full bloom in the months to come.

Project management was effective. We never once had a major issue with the team. Every problem was met with a solution.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

The consistency of the project manager handling the project. The service rendered and their willingness to help and assist on any issues that we are facing.

Are there any areas for improvement?

There is very little i could fault them for other than probably the way the design and UX could be quite in different style from where we were from. But with our sketches and ideal, they still are able to execute it with no issues.

Techuz developed the beta and live versions of our web platform. Their team provided resources but also scaled them to meet the project’s demands. They optimized detailed designs and aa schedule of functionality—a user story breakdown. Their team helped with frontend development using a combination of Angular7, Bootstrap, and HTML5. They also helped with backend development using NodeJS and MySQL for the database.

They provided four core resources: a project manager, one frontend developer, and two backend developers.

I searched for developers in our area and read their reviews on Clutch. I contacted Techuz directly.

The project started in May 2019 and we finished the primary development in January 2020.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Their team captured the vision of the product. They took the time to understand and stress test the product before they started the development. That helped to clarify certain aspects of the plan. Had that not happened, we would’ve run over on time and budget.

How did Techuz perform from a project management standpoint?

We had a weekly call throughout the duration of the project, so I was kept well-informed. They kept to the budget and met timelines. Their team was prompt and responded by Skype immediately when I had questions. Largely, they responded immediately but within 24 hours at most. When we needed to scale the team, they were able to do so.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They think through the lens of the customer. They’re business-minded, which reflects on the team well.

Are there any areas they could improve?

It’s a minor point but their team could improve the documentation slightly.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

As with any development agency, come with a clear brief. That’s not unique to Techuz but it meant that our conversations were at the right level to increase the quality of the work. Come with a clear description of what you seek to achieve to make the process smoother.

Techuz helps with web and custom app development. We hand off anything that has to do with development to them. We’ve worked with them on multiple projects. They use technologies like PHP, Laravel, and JavaScript, amongst others.

I communicate with the boss and a couple of project managers, depending on the project size. I sometimes interact with a developer as well.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

They’re pretty fast with development compared to other companies I’ve worked with. For one project involving a complicated website with heavy JavaScript programming, we had an urgent timeline of 15 days; Techuz did a good job and successfully delivered the project.

How did Techuz perform from a project management standpoint?

They’ve been easy to deal with. They send us daily updates. We use Slack, but most of our conversations are via email or WhatsApp.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They’re one of the only dev companies that actually deliver the designs exactly as I create them. Generally speaking, when there’s a handoff from design to dev, a lot of the design aspects get lost in translation. These guys are one of the few companies that give the exact representation of your design.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They could be cheaper. We get good value for our money, though; this doesn’t cause stress.

Establish all timelines early and have a decent scope. Explain whatever you’re trying to get out of your ideas and concepts. They do a good job of catching things that we have probably dropped. It’s better to have things in perspective before you start a project.

We were looking to develop the entire portal from the ground up using Angular in frontend and Node.js in the backend.

What were your goals for this project?

Our goal for this project was to become a one-stop solution in the interior design industry — be it material procurement for designers, new product launches for brands or data about market trends.

How did you select this vendor?

We did some online research and found Techuz had relevant experience and goodwill in the market. I had a few conversations with Vaibhav — he was proactive to address my needs and provide a quick ballpark quote.

Describe the project and the services they provided in detail.

Aqsit is India’s 1st online interior design material library and marketplace. It is a one-stop solution for all interior design material needs starting from laminates, veneers, wallcoverings, flooring, countertops, tiles, glass & mirrors, fabrics and more. It also allows the manufacturers to list their products on the platform. At this point, we have implemented many unique features on our portal for both designers and manufacturers. One example is mood boards. It is a curation feature like Pinterest for interior designers to save materials and designs for inspiration.

What was the team composition?

We worked with one project manager, one designer, two developers Angular and Node.js each, one HTML developer and a QA.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

Currently, Aqsit is successfully operating in Mumbai, Navi Mumbai and Thane with over 2000 materials, 10+ categories and 15+ brands on the platform and is growing rapidly. Techuz was able to implement a user-friendly design with smooth functions and features we were looking for.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

It was a joy collaborating with Techuz. The communication was smooth, they kept us updated throughout the project and were even quick to respond to our calls and emails.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

The team is technically sound and their response time was significantly quick to address our queries.

Are there any areas for improvement?

I’m quite happy with the outcome. They have achieved every task we gave them with the best quality and on time. The team did a great job.

I’m the CEO of a consulting firm. Our primary services deal with independent movie theaters and their marketing.

What challenge were you trying to address with Techuz?

The products we’ve worked on with Techuz have been offshoots of our work with movie theaters. Currently, we’re working on an online ticketing platform. Before that, their team developed an MVP.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

I’m a developer myself but only specialize in certain parts of coding. I gave Techuz free reign to find the best solution for the online ticketing platform. Their team used an Angular frontend and Laravel on the backend. I created a mockup with various screenshots on what I thought the product should be and the best way to get there. From that point, they created their own design files before starting the coding. The MVP is a Node.js app that does live quizzes. There are potential legal issues there, so I can’t elaborate fully.

What is the team composition?

Our team has around five people. I started off working with Vaibhav (CEO, Techuz), and then moved to Ankush (Project Manager, Techuz), and then there are a few developers as well.

How did you come to work with Techuz?

We found Techuz through Upwork. We posted a project and set a budget. After interviewing about five different companies, we found that Vaibhav had experience in Stripe that other companies didn’t have. We knew that would be an integral part of the project.

We’ve spent between $20,000–$30,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

Our engagement began in March 2018.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The MVP is awaiting the next phase, but we’ve launched the online ticketing platform. We’re in the process of adding features. But for the most part, the platform is live, fully-functioning, and earning money.

How did Techuz perform from a project management standpoint?

They’ve done a pretty good job. We communicate about twice a week through phone calls and emails. Sometimes we use Trello to keep track of issues and other things we need to work on.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Typically, when I have a real issue, their team is fast about getting back to me. I’m most impressed with that.

Are there any areas they could improve?

The organization involving project management could improve, but I don’t necessarily need tools for my projects because it’s mainly me involved. What we’re doing is pretty straightforward.

With every project, the more specific you are, the better. While working with developers, you need to be literal about everything you want.

We were introduced through our marketing vendor. I was familiar with Vaibhav’s (CEO, Techuz) work before he founded Techuz because I’d also worked with him when he was a project manager at a previous company. When he founded Techuz, I followed him.

At this point, we’ve built many websites together. For one project, in particular, I had them build a site for Cheap Travel Hunter, a vacation-planning startup that I founded and ran for about five years. With each initiative, I rely on them to deliver a great product for a competitive price.

We first went through a design phase to review what the platform needed to do. Together, we iterated on the design and development, making changes until it met our expectations. Users can seamlessly upload a range of data visualizations from software like Tableau and Power BI. Techuz wrote the site in HTML.

My company, Gravity Payments, provides merchant acquisition services for payment processing (credit cards, ACH, etc.). I am a technical architect responsible for software product architecture and design at the product portfolio level.

For what projects/services did your company hire Techuz?

We needed them to re-implement a gift card processing server backend. The existing implementation is very difficult to operate and maintain.

What were your goals for this project?

We wanted functionality on par with the existing system, tools to migrate data from the existing system, highly available and scalable architecture, API compatibility with existing clients, and re-implementation in TypeScript, a language we have standardized for all new development.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor?

StartupTunnel put me in touch with Truelancer, who in turn introduced me to three vendors. I found the proposal from Techuz to be the most compelling.

They did database schema design for the new system, then migrated data from the existing system to the new. They integrated the backend server software with APIs for existing clients and the WebUI, then ran test scripts and did design documentation.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

The project replaced an existing functionality, so we didn’t expect any immediate benefit. However, it will help us add new features in the long term. The final code quality was excellent and our team has taken no issue.

Techuz handled our project management and gave me weekly updates via video conference.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

I found them open to our feedback on code and documentation quality. I never had to repeat my feedback on one part of the code for other parts of the code.

Their engineer working on this project could do better in written English communication.

I’m the chief executive officer of RightArm Holdings Pte Ltd., a public service website that enables give and take between givers and receivers, servicing the underprivileged and the poor. It’s a crowdsourcing platform.

What challenge were you trying to address with Techuz?

We needed someone to develop our website.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

They developed a custom website from scratch. First, we defined the user requirements at a high level, and then at a detailed level. Techuz used Node.js for the backend and Angular.js for the frontend. They built the graph database with Neo4j.

Techuz worked in 12 sprints and did quality testing; our side did testing as well. We had a development database, testing database, and a live database. Their team deployed the site’s first version in late 2017.

What is the team composition?

We interacted with five programmers, a QA resource, and the founder and CEO.

How did you come to work with Techuz?

We did an online search and considered Techuz along with other vendors. After a few conversations, we met the team in person. They were affordable and proactive.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent $35,000 in payments that corresponded to sprint completions.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in July 2016 and the project ended in November 2017.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We’ve done pilots in Singapore and India. The traffic on the site isn’t necessarily heavy, but that’s partly because we’re looking for additional funding to get more people on board in the company who will be navigators for our company. Until we get the navigators on board, we don’t want to push traffic on the site because we feel we won’t be able to do justice or provide good service. The site has been used, but we haven’t encouraged heavy traffic or marketed it actively.

How did Techuz perform from a project management standpoint?

We used Jira for tracking the requirements and testing. The QA resource was a helpful point person between teams; he set target dates. We had daily calls between teams as well as weekly management calls. Techuz managed everything quite well.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They were willing to learn new things. Our database isn’t commonly used in India. Techuz had never used it before, but they were willing to take on the challenge.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They could improve testing. We caught some bugs that they didn’t find.

I would happily recommend them to anyone. Explain the user requirements very clearly; that will help testing.
