We are a marketing agency but don’t have an in-house team of developers. We needed to outsource a few development projects to Techuz.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Techuz is responsible for developing websites for our end clients. Our internal team designs the sites, and Techuz is responsible for development. Some sites require static UI/UX design, and others have more complex requirements with a WordPress dynamic backend. Techuz has also developed e-commerce sites using WooCommerce and Shopify. We've worked with Techuz on 10–15 projects so far.

We contacted three different development agencies and chose Techuz. We had a parameter checklist to go over when interviewing vendors. My team found Techuz on Clutch and read their reviews. We also requested samples of their recent work and evaluated those websites' performance using inspect elements and speed test pages. We also evaluated the sites' coding standards.

What is the status of this engagement?

We've been working with Techuz since September 2021, and our engagement is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We're happy with Techuz's team. For instance, the global average time users spend on a website was 45 seconds in 2021, and in 2023, I believe it was down to 9 seconds. Every website Techuz has delivered crosses the global average by over a minute. The minimum time users spend on all sites we've built with Techuz is over a minute. Regarding work quality, Techuz delivers pixel-perfect websites, and their development work consistently achieves to match exactly with our designs.

How did Techuz perform from a project management standpoint?

Techuz doesn't meet deadlines at times but stays within reasonable limits. Our team has sometimes been accountable for the delays, and Techuz has been responsible other times. However, the longest time the team has been delayed is two weeks, and always with a good reason.

For project management, we work in Google Workspace. We use Google Spaces and Google Sheets and define the dependencies at the start of each project. We constantly monitor Techuz's project management and communicate via phone calls, Zoom, and email.

I want to highlight Mayank and Ankur's phenomenal work. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

I'm mostly impressed by Techuz's attitude. The team is good at prioritizing the resolution of challenges and providing continuity to grow our business. When the attitude comes from the top-level teammates, it's shared by the entire organization, leading to a long-lasting business relationship. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

Project planning can improve in certain instances, although every engagement is a work in progress. When two teams work together, there are always different understanding levels. There's room for improvement regarding project management, but I don't consider the team to be bad, and it doesn't happen with every project. 

Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?

I recommend communicating clearly your requirements to Techuz and documenting them if needed. I also suggest ensuring expectations are clear on both sides and defining timelines; discuss the project's dependencies with each other and how that'll impact your business to move forward with things.

We hired the Techuz team to revamp our whole website. They helped us in designing and developing the entire website. Our goal was to create a website that meets SaaS standard and increase overall user experience of the visitors with proper structure to the website.

We searched online and got to know about them. We chose them because they had developed a few websites in the SaaS domain.

We had a meeting with them, where we exchanged our requirements and ideas. Post that the team came up with design wireframes for the website, we had few iterations post which the website was built by them. There were few issues at the start, but the team took care of all the issues.

Most of the collaboration was on invision for design and WhatsApp group for any changes on the website or addressing issue. They had video recordings sent to us to train us on how to make edits

They understood our requirements and what we were trying to achieve. The project at times got delayed by us but they were patient enough to understand that we needed time.

There were a few bugs or minor fixes on the website which took time to be resolved due to unavailability of resources.

Techuz has helped us build a custom app for our operations. On it, we’re able to collect order information from our customers and sync the relevant data to our accounting, sales, shipping, and production departments.

Initially, we worked with Techuz’s CEO and another member to find the best developers with the skill set that fit our current system. Then, their developers joined our current developers and started working on our project. Since then, their scope has included software development and design using various languages and technologies, including React, Java, Laravel, PHP, SQL, MongoDB, Ruby, and Microsoft Azure.

The biggest impact of the app that Techuz has helped us build is our order efficiency. Prior to having this app, it took us over 24 hours to process an order. Now, we can process an order within 15 minutes. As with any other software development project, we’ve found bugs in our app. Still, Techuz always solves those issues quickly.

How did Techuz perform from a project management standpoint?

Techuz’s project management has exceeded our expectations; we’ve been very happy with the deliverables, and they’ve been delivered in a timely manner. Techuz’s communication is also great. They provide us with constant feedback, and whenever they need to clarify something, they ask. Additionally, the onboarding process was seamless. We use Microsoft Teams and Azure to collaborate.

Techuz’s communication and speed of delivery are outstanding.

We had an idea that we wanted to conceptualize, but we needed assistance in executing it. They have focused on this project for us while our internal team continues to develop our backend systems.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

They provided software development services to help us develop the client-facing and administrative components of our web application. The app is a user-onboarding solution for Indian government agencies. There were some legal challenges that required us to interface with government APIs. On the administrative side, we used serverless AWS services to implement the APIs. Based on the response the end-user provides within these APIs, the app will proceed to more complex workflows. These were built within the AWS infrastructure as well. We did our frontend work with Angular. We’ve also developed a web portal that supports the application.

I’ve worked directly with four of their engineers, their CEO and founder, and their product manager.

We originally sought out Indian software development companies via Upwork. We liked their work and reached out to them for several rounds of interviews. After speaking with them and talking them through our goals for the engagement, we were confident they would be a good fit. Their frontend development experience with Angular also helped them stand out.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We’ve done extensive testing of their solution. Because the app was so complex, we were sure to take the proper care in conducting QA. Their work has stood up to all our tests. We were also very sensitive about cost, and they delivered a great value. Their team did well with documentation as well.

How did Techuz perform from a project management standpoint?

Their team did well. We had a standard weekly cadence. They always met deadlines and communicated well. Even their CEO was available when needed. We used Github for project management purposes.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their direct communication throughout the process was really important to me. With early-stage startup work, it can take time to define parameters. Their team remained patient and communicative. They did well from both a management and technical perspective.

Are there any areas they could improve?

As far as the actual project, I can’t think of anything. Their prices were a little more expensive than what we had initially had in mind for the work, but they were flexible with their pricing model and delivered what we needed.

Make sure you know what your end goal for the project is. If you spell out your goal to them clearly, they’ll do great in helping you meet that goal.
