The National Anti-Vivisection Society (NAVS) engaged Solid Digital for a full website redesign. Solid Digital conducted a discovery workshop, user research, and technical/SEO audits to understand NAVS’s audience, goals, and website performance. Next, the Solid team focused on building the website’s foundation: developing a sitemap, wireframes, styleboards, content strategy, SEO recommendations, and a comprehensive strategic plan. 
Once the initial strategy was approved, the team designed and developed the new website using WordPress and Elementor, including copywriting for 30 pages, content migration and styling, CRM integration, SEO setup, and ensuring security and ADA compliance. Solid also provided CMS training, implemented GA4 tracking, and launched the site.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The project was completed on time despite a tight schedule on our end. Solid Digital developed a clear project plan that kept the work on track and ultimately delivered the site slightly ahead of schedule.

The finished website has been an outstanding result. The team successfully translated our goals for branding and how we wanted the organization represented online. Staff across the organization have been extremely pleased with the new site, particularly the more professional appearance and the increased credibility it brings to our work. Board members have also responded very positively to the redesign.

We have also received positive feedback from constituents who have commented on the updated look and overall experience. Overall, the project delivered a strong outcome and a website that we are very proud of.

Project management was excellent. The team operates with a structured, well-established process, and that level of organization was evident throughout the project. They provided clear guidance at every stage and gave us the tools and direction we needed to understand our responsibilities and deliver the required materials. They also made it easy for us to submit assets and keep everything moving smoothly.

All deliverables were provided on time, and the overall project was completed ahead of schedule. The team was also very responsive to our needs and questions throughout the process.

Overall, the project ran exceptionally smoothly. Having been involved in several website redesigns, I can say this was one of the best experiences I’ve had, if not the best.

What impressed me most was how well-developed and disciplined their workflow is. I have been involved in several website redesigns, and their process stands out as one of the most organized and effective I’ve experienced. They clearly understand how to manage the many moving parts involved in a project like this—ensuring the right assets, information, and decisions are brought forward at the right time. That structure made the entire process much easier for our team.

In addition to their process, their team is exceptional. Everyone we worked with was professional, approachable, and genuinely enjoyable to collaborate with. There also seems to be strong internal coordination on their side, which contributed to how smoothly the project progressed.

Overall, they are simply a great group to work with. They bring both professionalism and personality to the process, which made the experience very positive. I also appreciated the thoughtful project-closeout items they provided—those were a unique and welcome touch.

Are there any areas for improvement or something Solid Digital could have done differently?

Nothing of note. I do not have any recommendations for improvement. The process was streamlined, the team was highly organized, and the project was completed ahead of schedule. Overall, the work exceeded our expectations, and there is nothing about the process that I would suggest changing.

• Working with our IT department and our previous vendor to coordinate a seamless switch from one to the other

Next, Solid Digital designed responsive templates, styled and inserted content, configured the CMS and forms, optimized for SEO, and ensured quality and security. Revisions were made to meet our needs.

The final phase included CMS training, goal-tracking setup, and a seamless website launch. Throughout the project, strong project management ensured clear communication, timely updates, and thorough testing, resulting in a high-quality, user-friendly website.

What impressed us most about Solid Digital was the genuine investment and care their team showed for the end product. It wasn’t just about crossing the finish line for them. Everyone was fully committed to putting in the time and effort needed to achieve a result that everyone could be proud of. Their dedication was evident in every interaction, as they consistently made themselves available to address our questions and provide support in a timely manner.

Our experience with Solid Digital was top-notch. One area we discussed with the team that could be improved upon was the content writing aspect of the project. As much of this responsibility fell on our team, which we knew was going to be the case, Solid Digital provided excellent guidance and even scheduled meetings to clarify expectations for everyone involved in the copywriting process.

While this collaborative approach was helpful, we believe that providing even more detailed direction could make the process smoother. For example, defining the specific context, grammatical structure, or tone for each section during the early stages of the project could help streamline the writing process and ensure consistency. While prompts and descriptions for each line item were provided, offering additional clarity—such as specifying the tense, format, or style for each piece of content—might be beneficial. Assigning the task of setting these parameters to the project lead or stakeholders could help when it comes time to review and refine the language.

Overall, the content writing process was well-supported, but a bit more structure could further enhance the experience.

There's not really a specific metric, but the redesign was successfully completed, and they've been extremely prompt in responding to any web development or support requests I've had this year. Overall, I've been really pleased working with them.

Project management has been good. I don't love Basecamp (which is what they use as a project management tool) but the team does a great job of keeping it organized which helps a ton. Diana is always extremely prompt in responding to our requests and transparent on timelines. The whole team is also very willing to be flexible in waiting for feedback when the bandwidth on my side is running a little short.

Timeline was key for this one. We needed the project done by April and they exceeded on that date and provided all the deliverables a week in advance. Screen Designs, we were going to get a few dozen screen designs, but we received nearly hundred showing many different aspects of the application. This was critical in helping us evaluate the design properly and iterate on the design.

Yes, they delivered everything on time. Additionally they were very responsive to messages and had a response to most things day of. They were also very upfront about the schedule and if there were any notable aspects that may require additional time.

Solid Digital has a great energy. The team showed genuine interest in design our application and it shows in the design. Throughout the process, the dialogue with their team was great and made what can be a challenging process very straightforward and enjoyable.

Just keep doing what they are doing! Native iOS development is less their focus so they could potentially benefit on more resources on that, but that is a minor concern.

I’m a global website manager for an IT company. Our organization offers testing and certification services to individuals and businesses.

What challenge were you trying to address with Solid Digital?

We had a really outdated website. We needed a rebrand and wanted to move over to an updated platform that could be more user-friendly for our content management team.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We worked with Solid Digital to relaunch our entire website from a minor brand refresh to a complete page overhaul. We initially went through the whole wireframing and design process; then, we worked on new development features on the website.

We wanted to launch a new site with our updated brand guidelines, messaging, and tone of voice. Solid Digital helped us implement the project along the way. We had some compliance requirements to meet. Overall, the most important component was representing our company visually and showcasing ourselves in the marketplace.

They built a WordPress website and used Elementor as our page builder. We had some elements sent in place, like the initial wireframes and some branding. In general, Solid Digital handled the complete website relaunch and facilitated everything for us.

What is the team composition?

Our main point of contact was Mackenzie (Project Manager). She facilitated things and was the point person throughout the project.

How did you come to work with Solid Digital?

We went through an RFP process; I found them through research. When I submitted the RFP, I remembered I had an old colleague who had worked with Solid Digital. They reached out to me, and we started our connection there.

Through the proposal process, Solid Digital listened to us and tried to dive deep to understand our needs. They were able to highlight their specialty skills, so we trusted their team from day one. Overall, Solid Digital was clearly an expert in their field, so they were the best fit to create the website we hoped to see. They blew the other agencies we were talking with out of the water.

How much have you invested in them?

We spent about $150,000 on the project.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked on the project from June 2022–January 2023. However, we’ve continued our relationship with Solid Digital through their support services and their digital growth program. We’re excited to continue working with them, not only on this website but on a few others that our company will relaunch later this year.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We don’t have any specific metrics at this point because our site hasn’t been live for a full month yet. However, Solid Digital successfully relaunched a new interface and combined a few websites into one, delivering on time and staying close to our budget. 

So far, the biggest impact we’ve seen is in our Google Search Console scores, which have improved significantly in the overall lift of our website based on the previous site. We’re getting 100% on our accessibility ratings, which is a humongous feature for us. Moreover, the site has better UI/UX.

We’ll continue to track our analytics and overall traffic conversion post-launch. Also, we’ll implement some heat mapping so we can see how our users interact with our site.

How did Solid Digital perform from a project management standpoint?

Solid Digital was responsive throughout the whole project. We felt we were their only client; they always made us feel heard. Even if they weren’t going to deliver on time, they communicated in advance so nothing ever impacted our timelines. Moreover, they made adjustments when they couldn’t meet a deadline and ensured our team was delivering the content and images they needed so our launch date could remain the same. Overall, Solid Digital was on top of the weekly meetings, ongoing communication, and recaps of everything that happened. We didn’t need to chase down requests or tasks; we felt confident that they’d deliver what was promised.

We communicated virtually. Since our company is based worldwide, all our communication was through Zoom calls. Additionally, Solid Digital used Basecamp as a management tool and had several spreadsheets and trackers to monitor the project.

What did you find most impressive about them?

We were highly pleased with the project overall. Solid Digital felt like an extension of our internal team. We had a small team of people, and they were heavily involved in the project; there was no way we could’ve accomplished this without them.

Communication was also outstanding; we felt we could trust them. They had a wide variety of experts, so if someone didn’t know the answer, they knew who to pull in to do the research we needed. All in all, their people were fantastic. We’d never worked with an agency with such a smooth process. We had very limited hiccups.

Are there any areas they could improve?

We were still ironing out a few pieces in the early stages of our project, and they made some assumptions without having a larger conversation, which caused some delays. However, they were wonderful at resolving those issues as they came up, not only by providing fast solutions but also giving us options to remedy the situation in the form of additional hours or alternative methods.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

I recommend anyone looking to work with Solid Digital to have at least one team member fully dedicated to the project. Also, lean into Solid Digital’s project management resources to make the project go smoothly and ensure everyone is on the same page. If we hadn’t used some of the resources they provided, the project wouldn’t have been as successful.

I’m the VP of marketing and sales operations for Pacific Energy Concepts, an energy efficiency solutions provider. We offer energy efficiency services, such as LED lighting upgrades, easy charging systems, advanced control systems, and energy monitoring for commercial and industrial businesses.

We hired them for web development, SEO, and PPC. For the most part, we do our web development in-house; we had just rebuilt our website in Elementor and WordPress, and Solid Digital came on board to help us with our digital growth.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Solid Digital provides us with a digital growth package. They discuss strategies to build our SEO rankings and work closely with us on keyword research. They've done backend SEO cleanup and tagging on our site's backend. We also plan to work on URL and website structure changes with them regarding SEO. The team provides a monthly digital score to see where we need to improve and create new strategies and tactics to grow our rankings, user numbers, and visibility on the web. 

They also help us build our PPC strategy on Google and Bing and create campaigns, fleshing out our marketing and sales teams. Although we do most of our creative work in-house, Solid Digital helps us with creative writing for the PPC campaigns and serves as a guide and sounding board for our internal team. 

Additionally, we've leaned on them to develop a calculator widget using JavaScript and PHP. They'll upload the tool to our site.

We work with Rachel (Senior Project Manager). Marla (Digital Marketing Strategist) works on SEO and PPC, Jesse (CEO) has provided ideas, and another teammate has done a lot of backend  SEO cleanup.

By the end of 2022, we'll have spent about $40,000.

We started working with them around April 2022, and the engagement is ongoing.

Since we're trying to build our digital growth, we haven't set a KPI yet. Solid Digital gives us a digital growth number based on the content we're building, which considers things like traffic volume. Next year, we'll make target KPIs once we know Solid Digital's impact.

They're great at project management and very communicative, upfront, and transparent. As a result, we understand what we're paying for and get it. We use Basecamp for project management and Zoom and email for communication. Overall, they're a great team to work with.

Solid Digital is very transparent and knows what they're doing. They're a great partner; the team has really learned and understands our business and goals. As a result, they're thoughtful in their recommendations and ideations. They're a nice plug-in for our team, and we can rely on them.

There's nothing they need to improve; they're doing a pretty good job.

Give them as much background about your business as possible. Additionally, provide a framework and context about what you're trying to achieve.
