Our goal was to bring more human elements into our design while keeping the spotlight on our unique product differentiation.New Navigation: We wanted to reorganize our navigation to simplify how we present our product and company. This was achieved by grouping the thematic core of our products functionality into real-world categories and consolidating pages to deliver a more intuitive user journey for both prospects and job seekers. We did this because highlighting our produts growing functionality was becoming constrained under our previous design. This update provides us with more flexibility than ever to showcase value.Pain Point Pages: We recognize that our buyers face different concerns when purchasing our solution based on their experience with technology. To address these concerns, we've created pages with unique messaging tailored to help them overcome these obstacles. Customer Voice: We wanted our customers to tell the story of why we're the #1 rated solution. Creating designs and modules that can bring their voice to the forefront was vital.Increase Engagement & Deliver Better-Informed Prospects: All of these updates are in service of helping our sales team by delivering more knowledgeable and qualified prospects. Given that our industry operates within a highly specialized niche of finance, we weren’t necessarily looking for a firm that had worked with a company like ours before. Instead, we prioritized finding a partner with expertise in B2B SaaS and financial technology firms.Although Solid Digital was initially unfamiliar with our industry and its terminology, they went above and beyond to immerse themselves in our business. They invested significant time and effort to understand our unique concepts and offerings, ensuring they could accurately and authentically represent us. Their dedication paid off, resulting in a vastly improved website that truly reflects our business and vision. Thanks to Solid Digital's strategic approach and creative expertise, we emerged with a website and brand identity that not only honors our history but also positions us for future success. Their dedication was evident in every interaction, as they consistently made themselves available to address our questions and provide support in a timely manner. Are there any areas for improvement or something Solid Digital could have done differently? Our experience with Solid Digital was top-notch. One area we discussed with the team that could be improved upon was the content writing aspect of the project. As much of this responsibility fell on our team, which we knew was going to be the case, Solid Digital provided excellent guidance and even scheduled meetings to clarify expectations for everyone involved in the copywriting process. While this collaborative approach was helpful, we believe that providing even more detailed direction could make the process smoother. For example, defining the specific context, grammatical structure, or tone for each section during the early stages of the project could help streamline the writing process and ensure consistency. While prompts and descriptions for each line item were provided, offering additional clarity—such as specifying the tense, format, or style for each piece of content—might be beneficial. Assigning the task of setting these parameters to the project lead or stakeholders could help when it comes time to review and refine the language.Overall, the content writing process was well-supported, but a bit more structure could further enhance the experience.

The team was highly collaborative, responsive, and experienced; they managed the project seamlessly through Zoom, Basecamp, and tracking spreadsheets.
"“They were heavily involved in the project; there was no way we could’ve accomplished this without them.”"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m a global website manager for an IT company. Our organization offers testing and certification services to individuals and businesses.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Solid Digital?

We had a really outdated website. We needed a rebrand and wanted to move over to an updated platform that could be more user-friendly for our content management team.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

We worked with Solid Digital to relaunch our entire website from a minor brand refresh to a complete page overhaul. We initially went through the whole wireframing and design process; then, we worked on new development features on the website.

We wanted to launch a new site with our updated brand guidelines, messaging, and tone of voice. Solid Digital helped us implement the project along the way. We had some compliance requirements to meet. Overall, the most important component was representing our company visually and showcasing ourselves in the marketplace.

They built a WordPress website and used Elementor as our page builder. We had some elements sent in place, like the initial wireframes and some branding. In general, Solid Digital handled the complete website relaunch and facilitated everything for us.

What is the team composition?

Our main point of contact was Mackenzie (Project Manager). She facilitated things and was the point person throughout the project.

How did you come to work with Solid Digital?

We went through an RFP process; I found them through research. When I submitted the RFP, I remembered I had an old colleague who had worked with Solid Digital. They reached out to me, and we started our connection there.

Through the proposal process, Solid Digital listened to us and tried to dive deep to understand our needs. They were able to highlight their specialty skills, so we trusted their team from day one. Overall, Solid Digital was clearly an expert in their field, so they were the best fit to create the website we hoped to see. They blew the other agencies we were talking with out of the water.

How much have you invested in them?

We spent about $150,000 on the project.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked on the project from June 2022–January 2023. However, we’ve continued our relationship with Solid Digital through their support services and their digital growth program. We’re excited to continue working with them, not only on this website but on a few others that our company will relaunch later this year.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We don’t have any specific metrics at this point because our site hasn’t been live for a full month yet. However, Solid Digital successfully relaunched a new interface and combined a few websites into one, delivering on time and staying close to our budget.

So far, the biggest impact we’ve seen is in our Google Search Console scores, which have improved significantly in the overall lift of our website based on the previous site. We’re getting 100% on our accessibility ratings, which is a humongous feature for us. Moreover, the site has better UI/UX.

We’ll continue to track our analytics and overall traffic conversion post-launch. Also, we’ll implement some heat mapping so we can see how our users interact with our site.

How did Solid Digital perform from a project management standpoint?

Solid Digital was responsive throughout the whole project. We felt we were their only client; they always made us feel heard. Even if they weren’t going to deliver on time, they communicated in advance so nothing ever impacted our timelines. Moreover, they made adjustments when they couldn’t meet a deadline and ensured our team was delivering the content and images they needed so our launch date could remain the same. Overall, Solid Digital was on top of the weekly meetings, ongoing communication, and recaps of everything that happened. We didn’t need to chase down requests or tasks; we felt confident that they’d deliver what was promised.

We communicated virtually. Since our company is based worldwide, all our communication was through Zoom calls. Additionally, Solid Digital used Basecamp as a management tool and had several spreadsheets and trackers to monitor the project.

What did you find most impressive about them?

We were highly pleased with the project overall. Solid Digital felt like an extension of our internal team. We had a small team of people, and they were heavily involved in the project; there was no way we could’ve accomplished this without them.

Communication was also outstanding; we felt we could trust them. They had a wide variety of experts, so if someone didn’t know the answer, they knew who to pull in to do the research we needed. All in all, their people were fantastic. We’d never worked with an agency with such a smooth process. We had very limited hiccups.

Are there any areas they could improve?

We were still ironing out a few pieces in the early stages of our project, and they made some assumptions without having a larger conversation, which caused some delays. However, they were wonderful at resolving those issues as they came up, not only by providing fast solutions but also giving us options to remedy the situation in the form of additional hours or alternative methods.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

I recommend anyone looking to work with Solid Digital to have at least one team member fully dedicated to the project. Also, lean into Solid Digital’s project management resources to make the project go smoothly and ensure everyone is on the same page. If we hadn’t used some of the resources they provided, the project wouldn’t have been as successful.

"“They're a great partner; the team has learned about our business and understands goals.”"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the VP of marketing and sales operations for Pacific Energy Concepts, an energy efficiency solutions provider. We offer energy efficiency services, such as LED lighting upgrades, easy charging systems, advanced control systems, and energy monitoring for commercial and industrial businesses.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Solid Digital?

We hired them for web development, SEO, and PPC. For the most part, we do our web development in-house; we had just rebuilt our website in Elementor and WordPress, and Solid Digital came on board to help us with our digital growth.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

Solid Digital provides us with a digital growth package. They discuss strategies to build our SEO rankings and work closely with us on keyword research. They've done backend SEO cleanup and tagging on our site's backend. We also plan to work on URL and website structure changes with them regarding SEO. The team provides a monthly digital score to see where we need to improve and create new strategies and tactics to grow our rankings, user numbers, and visibility on the web.

They also help us build our PPC strategy on Google and Bing and create campaigns, fleshing out our marketing and sales teams. Although we do most of our creative work in-house, Solid Digital helps us with creative writing for the PPC campaigns and serves as a guide and sounding board for our internal team.

Additionally, we've leaned on them to develop a calculator widget using JavaScript and PHP. They'll upload the tool to our site.

What is the team composition?

We work with Rachel (Senior Project Manager). Marla (Digital Marketing Strategist) works on SEO and PPC, Jesse (CEO) has provided ideas, and another teammate has done a lot of backend  SEO cleanup.

How did you come to work with Solid Digital?

I know Solid Digital's director of production through a leadership group.

How much have you invested with them?

By the end of 2022, we'll have spent about $40,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them around April 2022, and the engagement is ongoing.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Since we're trying to build our digital growth, we haven't set a KPI yet. Solid Digital gives us a digital growth number based on the content we're building, which considers things like traffic volume. Next year, we'll make target KPIs once we know Solid Digital's impact.

How did Solid Digital perform from a project management standpoint?

They're great at project management and very communicative, upfront, and transparent. As a result, we understand what we're paying for and get it. We use Basecamp for project management and Zoom and email for communication. Overall, they're a great team to work with.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Solid Digital is very transparent and knows what they're doing. They're a great partner; the team has really learned and understands our business and goals. As a result, they're thoughtful in their recommendations and ideations. They're a nice plug-in for our team, and we can rely on them.

Are there any areas they could improve?

There's nothing they need to improve; they're doing a pretty good job.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Give them as much background about your business as possible. Additionally, provide a framework and context about what you're trying to achieve. Let Solid Digital know what you're working on outside their purview so that they understand your priorities. They'll consider all that information and help build a strong partnership.

**The Review** — Oct 12, 2022

**Feedback Summary**: The new site received high praise for its accurate reflection of the client's values and creative spirit. Solid Digital led a respectful, professional,  and transparent process that showcased their attention to detail with a great design sense. The team also had a dynamic, lovable group.
""They're this really beautiful blend of design chops, process rigor, and warm personalities.""

**BACKGROUND**
Please describe your company and your position there.

I'm a partner at Catchword, a naming and branding agency founded in 1998 with offices in CA, NY, CO, and Calgary.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
For what projects/services did your company hire Solid Digital, and what were your goals?

For many years, Catchword has been the leader in brand name development. In fact, one of our proudest achievements is having been ranked the #1 naming agency here on Clutch since 2017! However, while naming is still our core capability, since our founding nearly 25 years ago, we've undergone considerable change and growth, including the addition of new services such as brand strategy, positioning, and identity/logo development.

Unfortunately, our website didn't reflect these changes or best represent the sort of agency we've become. While it was rich in content (after all, we are 25 years old), it didn't clearly signal the range of capabilities we now posses, and it wasn't visually/aesthetically consistent with the sort of top-tier creative services and branding agency we've evolved into. For this reason, we engaged Solid Digital to create a completely new website for our agency.

**SOLUTION**
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We went through a formal RFP process. Our original list of potential partners included around 10 digital agencies, though, ultimately, our shortlist for the RFP included 5 agencies. We solicited proposals from each, conducted interviews, and submitted follow-up questions. Right from the start, we felt a strong personal connection to the folks at Solid. Jesse, the agency's co-founder, and Jessica, the agency's Engagement Manager, were both extremely personable, responsive, and eager to answer our questions and ensure we understood their process and way of working, including steps, team composition, deliverables, etc. In addition, they showed a genuine interest in understanding our business, the space in which we compete, and fed the information back to us, to demonstrate an active curiosity about the work we do and who are as people and as a firm. In short, they came across very earnest and very professional, and we felt really confident that they would do a great job on the project.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

Rather than attempt to summarize a six-month long project and the myriad steps involved (which, honestly, would be challenging for me to do at this point), I'll just say that Solid was exceptional at managing the process, and that this is just one of the many ways in which I would say they really shine—that is, taking control of a very complex, multi-phased process and confidently guiding their client through it.

Completely reimagining and redeveloping a site with 25 years of content (not to mention, a degree of repositioning) is so much more than a creative exercise. It requires a tremendous attention to detail, and an organizational ability to track not just innumerable pieces of information, content types, web elements, etc., but the feedback being provided by the client and whether that feedback has been addressed or still needs to be addressed.

While we've redone our website several times since our founding 25 years ago, this project really drove home for me just how important a digital agency's organizational skills are—they're "process"—to the success of a project of this sort, and Solid has these skills in aces.

Now, in terms of specific process steps, but taking an enormously broad stroke to them, they included:

- An initial strategy phase, including multiple work sessions, to understand our agency and goals for the new site, including target clients and the sort of "journey" we want to take them on—i.e., the information we feel will be most important and helpful to them in order to drive their outreach.

This phase also included discussions around general positioning and how to better reflect it on the site, SEO considerations, and the introduction of wireframes mapping out our new site's page and information architecture, as well as style boards to gain insight into our team's stylistic preferences. Overall, a very thorough initial strategy phase!

A "Create" phase during which Solid developed several key page design concepts for our review and reaction. It was during this phase that we all agreed on one visual style that would inform the development of all of our key pages (I believe there were 13 of them) and form the basis for the site's overall look and feel. Naturally, there were multiple rounds to fine tune certain elements and address stylistic preferences.

After we had agreed and perfected the overall look and feel of the site, Solid began to actually develop the pages, building them out using Elementor, their preferred CMS. Again, plenty of work sessions, feedback provided in weekly check-in meetings and via Basecamp and feedback tracking sheets, etc. Throughout, Solid kept the process moving forward smoothly and barely lost track of a single detail.

Once the site, including all key and secondary pages, had been developed, Solid educated us on the use of Elementor (a new CMS for us) and prepared for launch, including developing various graphical assets consistent with our site for use in site announcement email campaigns and on social media. Naturally, there were several rounds of testing to make sure the site was functioning properly and presenting well on all devices and screen sizes—i.e., to make sure it was responsive.

This was a somewhat collaborative exercise, though we understood that Solid had checked, double-checked, and triple-checked everything to make sure there wouldn't be any surprises at launch. Again, a really broad stroke, and I'm happy to speak with prospective clients of Solid looking for greater detail into their process and how it worked out for us. In short, it worked beautifully.

How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

I have to say, I was pretty darn impressed with the number of professionals and resources Solid dedicated to our project! We're a leading agency in our space, but we're not TikTok, or Starbucks, or Volkswagen (coincidentally, a few of our clients). The folks we communicated with the most and with whom we met weekly included:

Mackenzie, Project Manager. Mackenzie was our primary point of contact and truly deft at keeping the project on schedule, humming along. In six months, I don't think she overlooked or mischaracterized a single piece of feedback we provided or failed to communicate something to the creative folk.
Derek, Creative Director. Derek was awesome. A great creative partner in so many ways. Smart, strategic, responsive, directive but open-minded, articulate in explaining the team's reasoning for their creative and other recommendations, just a wonderful creative guide to have on this journey. Also, and like the rest of the Solid team, genuinely interested in delivering the best site possible and making sure we were happy with every element.
Miguel, Web Desiger. Like Derek, a great partner to have on this project. While we don't know exactly how much creative work was developed by Derek versus Miguel (versus others, potentially) we believe Miguel was responsible for an awful lot of the actual design, and, of course, we're thrilled with where we landed. Also, and like the rest of the team, Miguel was super easy to work with, responsive and open-minded to our feedback, and extremely pleasant.
Other folks that were integrally involved in the process—and equally awesome—but whom we didn't see weekly included:

Marla, Strategist and SEO guru. Marla helped us think through the SEO implications of our decisions and, actually, will continue to work with us on other organic and paid-search initiatives (we purchased additional support hours so that Solid can continue to maintain our site going forward, and our SEO initiatives will be a part of that ongoing support). Marla is awesome. Very knowledgeable, helpful, and extremely likable.
Amber, Director of Production. Amber was more behind the scenes and generally only stepped in to address specific requests around process tweaks, and to ensure the core team was exceeding our expectations. Great personality, highly responsive, she seemed to provide general oversight of the project.
Diana, Director of Experiences. Even more so than Amber, Diana's primary role it seemed was to ensure they had a happy on their hands (and they did!), and to help address any concerns our team might've had at any point. To that end, she solicited periodic feedback via online surveys to gain real-time insight into how things were going from the *client* perspective. A smart add-on to their process that would allow their team to pivot mid-project if necessary and based on our input, which we might've felt more comfortable providing via the online form and anonymously, rather than in meetings with the core team. Like everyone else, super friendly, responsive, and client-oriented.
Peter, Director of Technology. Peter probably had a much bigger role throughout the project but we only got to know him toward the end of the project, as go-live drew closer. In addition to dealing with the actual site development, Peter was extremely helpful in resolving a post-launch, somewhat mysterious (!) email issue we were having. In addition to getting to the bottom of it and taking care of the problem, he was extremely pleasant to work with.
Speaking generally, like any good company or agency that's focused on culture, Solid seems to attract like-minded professionals with shared characteristics and values. Everyone on the team is really smart, professional but very personable, expert but collaborative, highly client-centric, and genuinely passionate about their work and the outcomes.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

We just launched our site a week ago and already it's receiving high praise from clients, colleagues, and agency partners. Everyone agrees, it's an enormous step up and step forward for us and our online presence. Solid really did an amazing job of granting all our design wishes. That is, we wanted a site that reflects our creative spirit and acumen (so, a "creative" looking site) but not feel boutique (because our clients are Fortune 100 companies, and "creative" sites can often create the impression of a smaller agency not as suitable as partners for industry leaders, and that's not us).

We wanted it clean, but not sparse. Easily navigable, but journey-drive, so prospective clients with individual needs would be presented with the content in which we know they'll be they're most interested. We wanted it to feel fresh, modern, and distinct from all other agencies in our space, both visually and in terms of sophistication. And, in every way, Solid nailed it. Every box checked. The site is killer, both aesthetically and functionally, and our whole team is extremely excited and proud of what Solid produced for us.

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.

I believe I probably covered this sufficiently in my other responses, but to summarize, Solid is truly one of the most organized, process-oriented, and communicative teams we've ever worked with. Completely on top of their sh*t, always keeping you in the know about next steps and upcoming milestones, nudging when necessary but always in a respectful and professional way, etc. Much of this has to do with their process, how well structured, thought out, and tested it is, and a good deal of it has to do with their PM, Mackenzie, who ensures there are no "blocks" that might impede progress or otherwise delay the project. Oh, and they didn't miss a single deadline in six months (and there were many deadlines).

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

I guess I started this review by acknowledging that, in my experience, this sort of massive website overhaul and complete "rethink" requires a combination of great creative vision, attention to detail, organization, and process rigor. Our site has literally thousands of pages and a degree of complexity that you might not expect from a creative services agency. Having a great design sense, while critical to delivering a knockout-looking website (and certainly something Solid possesses and excels at), is not enough to be successful on a project such as ours.

It requires a high level of strategic thinking, an enormous amount of process and structure, a serious attention to detail, and an appreciation for the importance of customer journeys and the way visitors will and should interact with your site.

It's really hard to put my finger on what impressed me most about Solid. Ultimately, I think it was the combination of all these critical skills, experiences, and agency characteristics.

They're this really beautiful blend of design chops, process rigor, and warm personalities. As a testament to how we feel about the collaboration and the work they did (and as I previously noted), we've already signed on for an additional support plan and will continue to work with them going forward.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Anything would be hyper nitpicky. They're awesome and we'd hire them again for sure.

**The Review** — Sep 30, 2022

**Feedback Summary**: Solid Digital failed to deliver quality outputs and perform migrations. They collaborated primarily on Basecamp and aggressively asked for the project payment, disappointing the client. Above all, their communication skills, promptness, and responsiveness were remarkable. This review includes the vendor’s response.
""I wasn't complaining about the customer service, but the quality of the final delivery.""

**BACKGROUND**
Please describe your company and your position there.

President / CEO of small e-commerce business.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
For what projects/services did your company hire Solid Digital, and what were your goals?

We needed a development partner that was able to help build a custom workflow management system while also maintaining the health + upgrades required for our Magento platform.

**SOLUTION**
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

Met with the owner through same organization at the time. He came recommended.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

SD was in responsible for customizing a backend workflow, hosting, website maintenance, some redesign projects, updates on security patches, other adhoc projects and website migration from 1.9 to 2.3 on Magento.

How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

I had worked and spoken with at least 10 representatives on the team from the owner Jesse to several developers etc... some who are no longer part of the team.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

Generally, the projects were close to on time or within 1-1.5 month of discussed timeline. In terms of quality, the beginning was good when they had talent capable of Magento development. When that person left SD, the quality of their deliverables were below average at best. I was told many of the the features I needed for our website were not possible unless you fully customize xyz; when in fact it wasn't true. Now, after having an agency that specializes in Magento, I realize that these "customizable features" can be plugs in or apps already available in the Magento marketplace such as adjustable shipping charts, showing production timelines in listings etc...

This ,however, wasn't my most disappointing experience. My final migration from 1.9 to 2.3 was complete disaster. Not only was it expensive, it was a requirement from Magento with a sensitive timeline. I was told when we were to migrate from 1.9 to 2.3, we would not lose any assets already customized on our backend. This was expensive and useful for our backend workflow so we needed it. Well, we lost most of our customizations while gaining a few replacement were only "close" to what our custom workflow was. Then was told I must have remembered it incorrectly.

In addition, after we migrated over to 2.3, our site kept freezing and lagging from both the front and backend. It was virtually impossible to add inventory from the backend and you can't even checkout purchases from the frontend without timing out. When confronting the owner Jesse about the issues, I was berated and gaslighted for not being appreciative of his teams efforts. What I was complaining about wasn't the customer service aspect of it, but the quality of the final delivery. Not once did he apologize or take ownership for the mistake.

My website was held hostage because I was hosting through them (a mistake I will never do again). I made my final payment after I move our website to our own AWS hosting (which needed 3 servers to be spun so that it wouldn't crash). I was harassed the entire time by the owner for withholding the payment. I refused to give the final payment until I received all my assets which I found reasonable.

For why he was so aggressive on the payment, I have no idea given I have never been late or missed on a payment in the years I've been with them. And yes, I did make the final payment as promised. I've thought long and hard on whether I should write this review and decided to do it because I don't want anyone else to experience what I have experienced. This experience is for a website on Magento platform. I don't think the team is experienced enough for this platform. With the help of an experienced Magento dev team, I am happy to report, the website runs faster, front and backend, while only spun on 1 server.

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.

Everyone on the team had excellent bedside manners and was very personable. I didn't speak with a single person the team who was rude. If projects were late, they were normally keep me posted on it. We communicated on basecamp regularly and had bi-weekly chimes.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

I would give credit to the teams excellent communication skills and usually being timely with their responses.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Probably not have the owner Jesse address any conflicts. Any feedback or issues raised will turn into finger pointing and gaslighting. I paid for an expensive migration (which didn't need to be) that didn't function afterwards then got berated for it. I'd recommend finding a person for your team who can handle conflict with empathy. Or if you are not capable certain projects, be honest and kindly decline them. After all, honesty is your best policy.

**Company Response**
The vendor responded on October 15, 2022.

Some items in this review are not fully accurate:

1. Our recommendation to upgrade Magento was based on Adobe's decision to stop supporting version 1.  Neglecting to tell them this would have been bad practice, and our team believes this was a responsibility we held to them (and any other client with an outdated/unsupported e-commerce platform).  They understood why it was important, and it was their decision to move forward.  Reference: https://business.adobe.com/blog/basics/support-magento-1-software-ends-…

2. The client was unable to make the final payment in February 2020 for the project and we set up a payment plan to accommodate their finances.  The final monthly payment was due in August 2020.  After finding a new vendor, they canceled this payment and did not communicate with us about why or when they would process it.  We made many attempts (email, voicemail, Basecamp) to reach them for an explanation. They did not respond until November, 2020 when we were finally able to schedule a discussion.   Only after this conversation was the final payment made.

**The Review** — Feb 25, 2022

**Feedback Summary**: By getting to know the client’s company, positioning, and competitors in-depth, Solid Digital was able to execute a strategic and creative website redesign. The team hosted several brainstorming sessions to evolve the client’s UI and responded quickly to issues and requests to ensure a timely launch.
""Everyone on their team was so sweet and nice, just willing to help us wherever they could.""

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

Hireology is a SaaS-based company in Chicago. We provide hiring managers with the ability to attract, hire, onboard, and manage candidates through an intuitive, all-in-one platform. I am the director of marketing communications and I oversee our content, design, brand, and campaign teams.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Solid Digital?

Our current website didn’t have a cohesive look and feel to it. We had approached different designers in the past, but it still appeared as though there were five different brands on our website. We really needed the site to reflect the new positioning of our platform, so we sought Solid Digital’s help.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

Solid Digital helped us restrategize the branding and build of our website. They conducted a technical analysis and SEO analysis of the site and looked into what our competitors in the space were doing. It provided us with a lot of insight into what our strengths and weaknesses were compared to similar companies.

Once we identified those factors, their team worked closely with our in-house designer to create a visual identity that aligned with our new positioning. This involved redoing our website’s architecture, rebuilding the wireframes, and eventually developing all the technical components in the backend. They recommended that we use WordPress, which was opportune since our site was already built on it and we already had some background with the technology.

What is the team composition?

I initially talked to Jesse (CEO & Partner) to get to know the team and their offerings. After seeing the proposal, I then interfaced with a project manager to get the process started. I met around eight different people during the course of the project, and that included a creative director, Marla (Digital Marketing Strategist), and a team of web migration specialists.

How did you come to work with Solid Digital?

When we were looking for an agency to work with, one of our contacts — a company we’d previously worked with on video projects  — recommended Solid Digital. We included them in our proposal process, vetted them along with different agencies, and ultimately decided to hire them for this project.

How much have you invested with them?

We invested around $95,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

The project began in August 2021, and the website was launched in February 2022. Their team is still working with us to make sure that everything is running smoothly post-launch.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Our website was launched less than ten days ago, so we have yet to get ahold of any metrics. For the most part, however, Solid Digital has helped redesign our website in a way that will help us attract, keep, and convert people online.

How did Solid Digital perform from a project management standpoint?

They were great and fun to work with. Their team was very responsive and quick to help us with any issue. We had weekly meetings, regular communications, and a good project management system. We also used Basecamp but relied on email and Zoom while we were getting that set up.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I appreciate that their team got to know our brand and our company in-depth. They really looked into what sets us apart from other companies, and the fact that they had used our platform in the past was also of big help. Apart from that, everyone on their team was so sweet and nice, just willing to help us wherever they could. Those were the things that really stood out to me.

Are there any areas they could improve?

There was a bit of a hiccup where we were going back and forth on different illustrations, and I think this was due to the team not having a clear understanding of the creative direction we wanted to take. We ended up having our designer build the illustrations rather than relying on Solid Digital. Nevertheless, it was such a collaborative process and they felt like an extension to our team.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Know exactly what your team is looking for, what your goals are, and articulate that well to Solid Digital. Be willing to bound ideas off of each other through and sit through however many brainstorming sessions because that’s what made our partnership work so well.

**Feedback Summary**: The client is pleased with the result and the process of the development. Solid Digital has been highly responsive and successfully replicated the client's value proposition in their new website. Their team is personable and invested, making them an ideal partner for smaller companies.
""Their people stand out as very focused on satisfying their customers and clients." "

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the director of marketing and sales operations for a global distribution organization that provides supply management solutions to various industries, including healthcare, commercial real estate management, food service, grocery, and packaging organizations. Product categories include janitorial supplies, food-service disposables, and printing materials.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Solid Digital?

We were in the position where our website hadn’t been significantly updated for about 10 years. The technology supporting it was beyond antiquated – really, really, really old. 10 years in terms of technology and you may as well be chiseling rock. Also, our messaging was very outdated.

Our two main goals in working with a web design company were to update our technology and messaging (around the value we provide to customers).

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

They completely redesigned our website to improve customer experience, customer engagement, SEO.

We started by walking through an in-depth onboarding and discovery phase where several people from Solid Digital learned about what we needed from the engagement. Our business model is complicated, and they took time to understand how we go to market and what our value proposition is. This ensured that our website would represent who we are and how we function.

Then, they strategized about the approach, shared it to us in a presentation, and began building wireframes. We worked with their creative group here, sharing assets and key page content and collaborating on how we would make those objects accessible on the site.

The website is built on WordPress, which allows us to go into the backend and update things as necessary. Our old system required us to talk to our IT team to make changes. Now, we have complete ownership over the assets and how they appear on the website.

We’re not cutting edge when it comes to technology, so the functionality of the site is fairly standard. There are 1-2 plugins on the site, including for a database of information that we maintain. It’s variable based on location.

What is the team composition?

We’ve worked with a number of people including Haley (Project Manager), Peter (Director of Technology), Derrick (VP and Creative Director), Marla (Digital Marketing Strategist), and Jesse (CEO).

How did you come to work with Solid Digital?

When I was looking for an agency, it was important to me to work with a smaller company that was local. It’s valuable to have someone in your marketplace that understands you as a company.

I first found Solid Digital on Clutch. There were great reviews there from others who’d engaged with Solid Digital, so I knew they would fit my parameters. Additionally, I came across Derrick’s Q&A featured on their website. What spoke to me was when he said he wants to be known for being the creative guy who gives a s***. I knew I needed to work with him then and there.

My personal interactions with them set them apart. A lot of people could have developed our website from a technical perspective, but Solid Digital was able to hold our hand through the entire process, which was needed, as we’d last redeveloped the site about 10 years ago. It was clear from our first phone call that they had the right personalities to do this.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent around $90,000 with them.

What is the status of this engagement?

We’ve been working with them since March 2021, and we launched site in October 2021. There’s now an annual service agreement in place.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Users time on site has significantly increased, as has the depth to which people navigate into our site.

How did Solid Digital perform from a project management standpoint?

Solid Digital’s team is on it all the time. They have a portal they use to manage interactions with our team where we can submit questions, suggestions or directions. We receive nearly immediate responses and acknowledgments that they are working toward an answer.

Management is really tight. We never have to wonder where we stand or if we will meet a deadline. There have been weekly meetings throughout almost the entire project.

Basecamp serves as our connection and collaboration tool. Solid Digital is Quick to schedule a meeting any time we put out an item on Basecamp that they think will be better handled by a conversation.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their people stand out as very focused on satisfying their customers and clients and understanding the personality of our organization. Solid Digital’s team wove that information into our new site.

Are there any areas they could improve?

From our perspective, the whole experience was done really well.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

It’s important for the person at the top to be as engaged as possible with Solid Digital’s team, as well as your own team. This will ensure the work is staying on task and that there aren’t any unanswered questions floating around. You can hand off some responsibilities, but just ensure everything is being actioned across both organizations.

It was clearly designed with the client's brand and buyer in mind. New style elements from the site were also integrated into the client's brand standards to be adopted company-wide. Solid Digital’s team was communicative, organized, and lifted the internal team.
""Solid Digital continues to be a solid partner and has become a true extension of our team.""

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the Marketing Director of Brandtrust, a research and brand strategy firm that applies methodologies grounded in the applied social and behavioral sciences to unleash the power of Human Truth and drive positive change for brands and businesses.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Solid Digital?

We were looking to refresh our website, not only with a brand refresh but also by creating a better UX for our clients, employees, and other partners.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

One of Solid digital’s many strengths is their onboarding and discovery phases. Solid Digital didn’t disappear into a black box and return with a completed website. Their standard practice is to have a few key meetings to clarify goals, learn their clients’ business extensively, understand the audience who they are designing for, and beyond. They invited not only the core client team but also a larger cross-functional stakeholder group to make sure that all goals and expectations were aligned—facilitating these meetings like consulting pros and asking the sometimes hard questions. They did all this work before they designed a single wireframe.

Following the completion of the “Learn” phase, we dove into the strategy and creation phases where all the visual fun began. I found the weekly meetings with my project manager and lead designer incredibly helpful, especially clarifying what was needed on our end so that I could meet due dates. I cannot emphasize enough how much I appreciated my project manager during the entire engagement. She was organized, candid, and communicative to where I never had to nudge her for a single thing. She was always 10 steps ahead of me.

When it came time to launch, the Solid Digital team did a great job making sure the work and the client team were celebrated—something we usually overlook once a project is completed before moving onto the next. Although they tested the site extensively prior to launch, the entire Solid team was at the ready during launch day to make sure all went smoothly. I felt very supported.

Additionally, Solid Digital trained us on the backend of the site to be able to problem solve and change things as needed, as well as a full SEO training.

What is the team composition?

Our main points of contact and project leaders were Hayley (Project Manager) and Pete (UX/UI Designer). Our interactions with everyone — from Jesse (Partner & CEO), Marla (Digital Marketing Strategist), Derek (VP & Creative Director),  and Diana (Experience Director) — were wonderful. Moreover, we always felt the support of the large team behind the handful of people that we were working directly with.

How did you come to work with Solid Digital?

I was searching in early 2020 for an agency based in Chicago so we’d support our local economy and have an opportunity to meet in-person for the key upfront meetings. Then, COVID-19 happened, and when we finally got around interviewing for our selection process, I’d found Solid Digital through a Google search. Our defining factors were that they had some sort of home base in Chicago and expertise in UX and user journey.

What is the status of this engagement?

We officially engaged with Solid Digital in October 2020. The project would’ve been completed in April but we needed a couple of longer extensions, so the website was launched in early June 2021.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The website has been live for 4 months, and we’ve seen a slight uptick traffic and inbound requests so far. We’ve received compliments from clients and internally at Brandtrust regarding the ease of use and available information. Overall, Solid Digital gave us a bit of a brand refresh channeled through website design. They created a style board from the elements on the website, and we’ve implemented them into our brand style guidelines. Everything they did has been adopted company-wide.

In summary, Solid Digital put together exactly what we were looking for, a modern and brighter updated version of our website with the tools to collect the user journey analytics we desire. It has positively impacted the user journey, leading our users from one step to the next based on their needs and interests.

How did Solid Digital perform from a project management standpoint?

The team was incredibly communicative and stuck to an established timeline. We had weekly meetings with the project manager who oversaw where we stood along the journey, and they were incredibly helpful and guided us through the process.

Also, they were great at setting expectations and asking for what they needed from us. Solid Digital went out of their way to make things as easy as possible — they took much of the heavyweight. Overall, they felt like an extension of our team, which was ideal for this project. I honestly can’t stress enough how communicative and organized they were.

What did you find most impressive about them?

We really enjoyed how candid and collaborative the entire team was to work with. It was an all-hands-on-deck project between Solid Digital and our stakeholders and we felt that our opinions and desires were heard all along the way. The trust they established with us enabled a very productive project and partnership.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I don’t have anything.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Make sure you’re internally prepared to put in the time and work on your end. A project like this isn’t something that you should put into a black box. The best experience is a collaborative one and Solid Digital can take you on that journey.

I’m the marketing director of Therapeutic Associates Physical Therapy, a private practice physical therapy organization on the West Coast. We’re one of the largest practices in the US.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Solid Digital?

We hadn’t updated our website in over four years, so our goal was to have a complete overhaul website rebuild. We also wanted to achieve more growth through our digital marketing efforts and an improved strategy.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

The first phase of our engagement was a learning phase. We had the opportunity to meet with Solid Digital and share our story, business model, and growth goals. They asked us a lot of questions that allowed them to dig deeper into our digital presence.

Then, we entered a phase where Solid Digital worked closely with us to present ideas, models, and designs for the website. From there, we went into the build phase. They built our site on WordPress because it made sense to us to keep working on the same platform as our previous website was.

Subsequently, we entered the launch phase, and now, we’re in the post-launch phase, where they’re working on bugs and adjusting details. We hope to continue our partnership with Solid Digital on a digital growth phase.

We intend to optimize our digital footprint through SEO, so we will be working with them to identify a content strategy. We also want to get more opportunities with paid advertising and other efforts of that nature to support our growth as we move forward.

What is the team composition?

We work with a core group of five people from Solid Digital, but we’ve worked with other team members throughout the various phases. In total, we’ve worked directly with 5–8 people, and I assume that more people are working on our project in the background.

How did you come to work with Solid Digital?

We went through an RFP process, and Solid Digital was one of the companies that we looked at. We were trying to find someone local to us, and we saw that they had offices in Portland and Chicago, so we reached out to them.

Then, we went through an interview process. We really liked what they shared, their core values, and how they present themselves. They seemed like a fun group to work with.

We shared very similar core values, and their vision aligned to where we wanted to go, so we partnered with them. One of the key factors in our decision was working with someone who was really engaged and enthusiastic about our project, and Solid Digital came forward right out of the gates showing that presence.

We also wanted to ensure that the group that we were working with was very open to ongoing communication, and they shared that early in the process.

How much have you invested with them?

The website development cost less than $80,000, but we plan to continue working with them on an ongoing basis, and the cost is still to be defined.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in November 2020, and they launched the site in June 2021. We continue working with them to support our website, and we’re partnering with them on their digital growth program as well.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We’ve seen an increase in form submissions and conversion rates, which we can generate more clearly now — that was something that we couldn’t do before.

We didn’t have a good platform before, so if a lead came through our site, we couldn’t see if it became a patient or not. Now, we have a better way to measure the success of our campaigns because we can see the traffic on the site and the conversion rate, and in the back end, we can see if the leads become actual patients.

Compared to our previous website, our new one is significantly different and better.

How did Solid Digital perform from a project management standpoint?

Solid Digital’s project management is very solid, and they offer great communication to ensure that everything is moving forward smoothly. They perform really well and have good systems in place.

They also seem to communicate very well within their team. It is very rare to have someone come to a meeting without being up to speed on a discussion that we had in a previous meeting where they were not present.

Additionally, they’re very good at keeping us up to speed about where we are in each project phase. If something comes up or we have a question, they’re very quick to respond, and we don’t have to wait until the next meeting.

We mainly use Basecamp for project management, where we have ongoing communication and regular updates. We also have a standing meeting where we call the project manager assigned to us and various other meetings where we discuss specific parts of the project or attend to issues.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Solid Digital’s ability to collaborate is impressive. They weren’t on this project because they needed to launch our website but because they wanted.

Additionally, they’re very open to input, feedback, and ideas, and they don’t just push their agenda upon us. Certainly, they’ve provided their feedback, input, and expertise, but they’ve also wanted to hear from us throughout every project phase to ensure that we are satisfied with the result.

Aside from the great things that Solid Digital has done and the product itself, their collaboration is great. Although they had some background working with healthcare companies, they went through a learning process, and they’ve stated throughout various phases that they enjoy working with us because they’re learning a lot. Now, they’ll strengthen their business and will be able to work with other healthcare companies.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No areas of improvement for Solid Digital come to my mind; they have a really well-oiled machine going on. They’re very transparent and clear with agendas and goals, and they ensure that we align with that.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Come into the project with an open mind and be willing to collaborate. Our success came from our willingness to collaborate and provide input, so don’t assume that they will do what you want without your direction.

They’ve become an integral part of the development process for upcoming launches, and their designs are great. The team excels at communication, and they’re very responsive. Clients can expect an easygoing partner.
"“I would put Solid Digital on the top of agencies I’ve worked with.”
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I work for Vevo, a music company and joint venture of Sony and Universal. I’m part of the product and engineering team, so we’re in charge of the applications for Vevo.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Solid Digital?

We engaged with Solid Digital to increase our velocity and improve the way we scaled. We have a bunch of partnerships with other smart-TV-connected device platforms in the marketplace, and we were trying to launch faster, but we were limited on people. We wanted to use the experience Solid Digital had working across different platforms.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

We assign high-level tasks to Solid Digital. One of these tasks is, for example, getting us GDPR compliant for our app experience in the UK and EU territories. This way, users can opt into certain privacy and data collection choices that are not visible here in the US.

Solid Digital also helps us roadmap items. We have them creating designs to see how our new live page will look like, how the home page is going to be, and how it will function and respond.

Their team is also tasked with the actual implementation. They develop, test, and roll out the different assets to our different partners. We work together on a weekly format, which means we meet with them once a week to go over the deliverables and see where we are at progress-wise.

What is the team composition?

Mackenzie (Digital Project Manager) is the person I work the closest with, but we also work with Cooper (Senior Software Developer) on the weekly meetings. I’ve also met with Amber (Director of Production) and some of the designers on their team.

How did you come to work with Solid Digital?

We chose Solid Digital over a couple of other agencies that we got pitches from. Their knowledge of smart TVs and connected devices is what attracted us to them.

What is the status of this engagement?

We onboarded Solid Digital in January 2021, and the engagement is ongoing.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Solid Digital is working on an integration piece for one of our partners, and they’re an integral part of getting that partnership out of the door. They’ve also been creating some designs, and the internal stakeholders are happy with how the things look. Their work has been good so far.

However, there hasn’t been any measurable impact of their work on our business. During the time Solid Digital has been here, we’ve only launched on one partner, but they didn’t have anything to do with the integration and just helped us with the testing.

How did Solid Digital perform from a project management standpoint?

For project management, I would put Solid Digital on the top of agencies I’ve worked with. They’re pretty good and responsive, and our processes and communication are pretty buttoned up.

We communicate using Basecamp, and we also have Slack channels set up. Their work is code-based, and some of our engineers review their code. We use GitHub and Jira to keep track of any open tickets.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Solid Digital’s communication is what separates them from the rest. Every member of their team is located in the same time zone, which makes communication easier. I would work with them again if I went somewhere else.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I haven’t experienced any issues so far — they’ve been great.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Know what you want to do overall and see how fast you want to hit the ground with an agency. We took our time because we originally wanted to use them for one purpose, and our engagement shifted towards a more complete engagement.

"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the marketing and brand manager for a global transportation and logistics company.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Solid Digital?

We wanted someone to design and develop a new website for us, as our previous site was about eight years old.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

Since our old site’s platform was outdated, they built the new WordPress site from scratch. The nature of our business doesn’t lend itself towards any online sales, so the main goal for the project was to attract potential customers to our service offerings and set ourselves apart from our competitors. We also wanted to increase our digital functionalities, mainly being able to collect inquiries and provide quotes electronically. We provided them with the content and images for the site, but they handled all front- and backend development. Having the new site encouraged us to get set up on several social media platforms as well.

What is the team composition?

We worked with at least six to eight people from their team at any given time. They provided us with developers, design experts, SEO professionals, and a project manager.

How did you come to work with Solid Digital?

I found them through an Internet search. Their team seemed to be a good size, not too big or too small. We also like that they were based in Chicago, and they were quick in responding to our inquiry. Jesse (Partner & CEO) made the engagement feel warm from our first interaction.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent about $40,000 with them on the site development project.

What is the status of this engagement?

We’ve worked together since April 2020. Since the proposed launch, October 2020, Solid Digital continues to provide us with maintenance and hosting services. We’re hoping to work with them on another project later this year.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

I don’t have exact numbers, but every relevant metric has gone up since our new site launched. Between the updated feel of the site and our expanded online presence due to our new social media pages, site traffic has steadily increased over the past several months. They’ve also taught us how to update and add content to the site, which has been really helpful.

How did Solid Digital perform from a project management standpoint?

Our assigned project manager checked in with us at least once a week. We communicated frequently via Basecamp, keeping the engagement very transparent and accessible. If our project manager couldn’t answer a question, she would find out and get back to us quickly. We also collaborated via G-Suite tools.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their people make them stand out from the competition. In looking for a partner for this project, we wanted to make sure our company’s ideals, goals, and personality matched up well with the vendor we chose to work with. Their team was very caring and worked to understand why we wanted certain site aspects to be a certain way. They conducted extensive research into what our top competitors were doing as well. The other vendors we looked into working with seemed like they would provide us with a less personal solution.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I can’t think of anything. They worked tirelessly to make our project successful.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Talk to them. Their communication skills made a project manager shift during our engagement seamless. They’ll be open, honest, and happy to work with you on any concerns.

The team created an accurate project outline and produced deliverables on time. Responsiveness and friendliness were two notable qualities of theirs.
""We’re impressed and looking to give Solid Digital more work."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m a data analyst and project manager for the Foundation for a Smoke-Free World. The foundation researches harm reduction and cessation opportunities for smokers. We’re a nonprofit public health organization.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Solid Digital?

We wanted to build a website that addressed nicotine-related data throughout the world. It’s difficult for many researchers to get nicotine- and smoking-related data in general, and our aim was to help researchers and public health experts with their research by leveraging consumer data collected from vendors.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

As we had little background in web design, Solid Digital took us through each step. Their team explained all the project’s technicalities. A major challenge involved the data’s presentation because it needed to be understood by anyone, not just experts. Our main concern was the data although we hadn’t thought much about the website’s design. Solid Digital bridged that gap for us. Their team built the site in PHP and Java, with a MySQL database.

What is the team composition?

We worked with project managers and developers. The project managers lead meetings with the developers present in most of them.

How did you come to work with Solid Digital?

The foundation requires that we initiate an RFP process for all projects. We shortlisted eight of the companies that responded to our request, and Solid Digital was one of two candidates that had built data-centric websites. We chose Solid Digital because their proposal best fit us.

How much have you invested with them?

The project cost $90,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with Solid Digital around August 2019 and launched the site in January 2021. We also had a one-month service agreement with them to troubleshoot any website challenges.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Solid Digital had several experts present during every meeting, which was one of their best qualities. Their design, development, and content experts gave us firsthand accounts of what would be best for us. Their developers were friendly and willing to go the distance for us. Their entire team was highly professional. Solid Digital met timelines, and any issues came from additional requests that we brought.

How did Solid Digital perform from a project management standpoint?

For project management, they used Basecamp. The platform enabled us to directly contact the developers who quickly responded to us. Their Gantt charts were spot on. Although they had 1–2 days slack times, they didn’t need it.  We had a good information flow coming back and forth, so nothing was ever hidden from us.

What did you find most impressive about them?

This was my first experience working with web developers, but I was impressed by the work. The foundation has multiple websites, and I’ve heard about issues with other vendors. Fortunately, I didn’t face any issues with Solid Digital. We’re impressed and looking to give Solid Digital more work.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Solid Digital built graphic visualization components with limitations. The visualizations weren’t as good as the BI tools we normally used. Solid Digital could gain a bit more expertise in that area.

Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?

Clients should be certain about their functional requirements. At times, we couldn’t provide answers about certain functionalities and Solid Digital helped us. Having all the information upfront will reduce the time needed to build the product.

**Feedback Summary**: Solid Digital was able to finish all its assigned deliverables with minimal inaccuracies. Their knowledge and listening skills impressed the client. The collaboration was a success thanks to the team's timeliness and professionalism.
""Their project management was really top-notch."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Please describe your company and your position there.

We provide a clinical collaboration and communication platform for healthcare organizations from large enterprise acute care to ambulatory physician practices to long-term care facilities. I am the Chief Design Officer.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
For what projects/services did your company hire Solid Digital, and what were your goals?

We hired Solid Digital (SD) to provide support and guidance for the more technical issues we were having with our website that was in WordPress using Beaver Builder.

**SOLUTION**
How did you select Solid Digital and what were the deciding factors?

We heard about Solid Digital from an acquaintance so we interviewed them. Jesse, Derek, and Jessica jumped on a call with us and we loved their attitude and knowledge - they understood the needs and got everything that was important to me. Jesse got what was important to talk about. I loved how Derek jumped into the weeds on tools (such as Elementor) and got into details of strategy, etc. on early calls. This is what sold us on them.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

The scope of work was basically a support contract with us because we weren't ready to redesign the site yet and they were a bit pricey to do that, so we just hired them to be there when we needed help. We also had some specific needs right away such as fixing backend issues and conflicts with custom code from a previous developer.

How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

Here's a rundown of who worked with us. Amber, a great project manager (replaced eventually by Mackenzie). Derek early on as Creative Director for strategy things. Chelsea early on. Jessica set things up and passing us off to Amber. Peter and Michael helped with code things.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

They did a very good job in project management (something I see lacking in some of our other vendors who tend to be less expensive and use up fewer hours, but don't list things out well and therefore miss things - gets haphazard). PM was great for the most part. The work was usually what we expected and done well. There were a couple of little things that we had to go back to them on that weren't right, but that was minimal.

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timelines.

Basecamp was great. Their project management was really top-notch. I always felt we communicated well and the process was good. They hit timelines.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The knowledge, attitude, and listening skills of Jesse and Derek along with their aesthetic sensibilities and ability to understand what was needed and how to address that is what was most impressive at the start and what sold us on Solid Digital. Amber's project management, professionalism, attitude, and hitting deadlines were unique and impressive as well.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Their price was a bit high. They also seemed to really blow through hours too quickly for projects that seemed not to need that much time. We planned on them maintaining the site (which might have been a communication breakdown between us), but we had to ask them to update plugins, etc.

Understandable miscommunication because they thought they were just doing things when we requested things. But, we are used to maintenance from website vendors where as part of $150 or $200 per month, they keep everything updated and give an hour of support, etc.

When we asked them to update plugins, I think it was about 8 hours of work (at $150 per hour). I might be wrong on the details, but something like that. It was surprising and gave insight into how we were burning through hours so quickly. We ended up moving to another vendor with who we have a relationship for other stuff so it made sense and costs less and uses fewer hours to do things like that. So I think it played into our decision some. Though I would definitely consider using Solid Digital again.

Overall, I was happy with them. Also, towards the end of our support hours, I think they had kind of forgotten about us. Amber was getting busy on other things and passed us to Mackenzie who didn't check in much, but we were on support hours, so understandable. Might wanna check-in with customers more often though just to keep that relationship going.

**The Review** — Jan 28, 2021

**Feedback Summary**: Solid Digital has not only delivered two functional websites but also provided the distributor with a new way to track marketing qualified leads. Their Digital Growth program adds significant value to the partnership, as does their commitment to fulfilling customer needs. The team communicates well.
"“Solid Digital is in a sweet spot of not being too expensive but also being very professional and doing a great job.”
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m a senior marketing manager at a B2B wholesale food products distributor. We don’t sell finished food products; rather, we sell the ingredients that manufacturers use to make consumer food products.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Solid Digital?

Before I even joined the team at St. Charles Trading, it was immediately apparent to me that the website wasn’t functioning the way it should’ve been. While interviewing for my current position, I had trouble learning about the company online.

As I got more involved in marketing, I wanted to take that experience and use it as an opportunity to help the organization communicate our brand and core values to customers. I knew that if I — as someone with a vested interest — had trouble getting in touch with the organization, people less invested never stood a chance.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

We’ve launched two websites with Solid Digital within the last year. We had a preexisting relationship with them, so the most recent project was quick and easy. Every project we do with them starts with a discovery phase. They have a concise set of questions that cut to the heart of whatever we want to get to. Following that, they do their own research and deep dive.

Their deliverables vary job-by-job, but generally speaking, they deliver a fully functioning, published website. For our most recent website, that happened in a matter of seven weeks. They built our website using WordPress and an Elementor plug-in. Elementor is a UI overlay that takes WordPress and turns it into a drag-and-drop platform, making it that much easier to edit.

At the end of every project, Solid Digital leads a CMS training. They show us how to use the page-builder and continue to maintain our site. Being able to have somebody on our team dedicated to updating the website, rather than having to constantly reach back out to a developer, has been a big value for us.

The initial projects are completed, and the sites are available to the public. We now have a service and support agreement with Solid Digital, so they help maintain our sites and hosting. They send pretty detailed reporting about up-time and WordPress updates, amongst other things.

If a website is static and unchanging, it can only do so much. For that reason, we’re constantly in talks with Solid Digital to make additions and changes to the site. We’re also participating in Solid Digital’s Digital Growth program, which has been a huge asset to us as an organization.

What is the team composition?

We have worked with Rachel (Project Manager), and she’s an incredible project manager. For our most recent project, she kept us on track the whole time; in fact, she did such a good job managing the project that we were able to do a soft launch ahead of schedule, despite a really expedited timeline to begin with.

I had close contact with everybody on the team — they were all willing to help out and answer questions. Rachel kept everybody on the same page and made sure we were on the right track to launching on time.

How did you come to work with Solid Digital?

I spent 2–3 months researching and trying to find the right developer. I previously did a lot of digital work, so I knew the value of a good partner in the web design and development arena. First, we did an internal discovery and spent some time putting together an extensive list of websites that impressed us. Then, we figured out who developed those websites. We ended up considering three companies, and the conversations quickly turned to the kind of relationship we expected to have with the people in the organization — that was a big factor for us.

We had a meeting with Jesse (Partner & CEO) and Derek (VP & Creative Director), and it was immediately apparent that Jesse ran a tight ship, and that he wasn’t going to sell anything that he didn’t believe in or that wouldn’t help us. In that first meeting, I brought up a few ideas that I was excited about, such as track functionality. He recommended that we get the website published and then start building a case for implementing other tools. I respected that — it would’ve been an easy opportunity for him to sell more services and really expand the project. I know a lot of other companies would’ve jumped at that opportunity, so Jesse’s careful and methodical approach has been really valuable to us.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent between $90,000–$120,000. The second project was smaller, so it cost a little over half the price of the first one.

What is the status of this engagement?

Our first conversation with them was in February 2020, and we started working on our first project together in late March. We did our second project in less than half the time of the first one.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

On our old website, the only way for us to get leads was if people chose to email or call us. Our new website has several contact forms. We’re able to track who’s reaching out and why because copies of those contact forms are sent to our marketing email. Then, we can process that data.

Being able to track marketing qualified leads — people who were previously customers who have now inquired about a product — has been a huge asset. I’m sure there are other ways to build out that functionality within an organization, but it’s so simple to have a copy of the email sent to our marketing team. I wouldn’t have thought to ask for that, but Solid Digital offered it. The little touches like that have been incredibly valuable.

How did Solid Digital perform from a project management standpoint?

They’re great communicators. Rachel in particular is great about keeping things on track. We ended up pushing back the deadline a little bit on our first project, part of which was due to having such a small internal marketing team. We developed all of the content in-house, including the copywriting and photography, save a few stock images. Since we’d never tackled that as a team before, developing the content was a huge task for our first website. The first project had a few delays, but Rachel was always very clear about how delays would affect the overall deadline for launch.

Then, our second project was ahead of schedule, and Rachel helped facilitate that. We went right from our first project to the second one. My team had three weeks to create and upload content. We got that done on time, and Rachel found time in the review process to accelerate their QA and crosschecking of the website's functionality. We were able to soft launch the website almost a week ahead of time.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their organizational mentality sets them apart from other companies. Jesse cares more about the business relationship than the sale, and that’s been very clear throughout the process. I’ve worked closely with Jesse at the start of both projects, and we’re in conversations now about a third project. The way that he structures their organization to focus on customer service and addressing unique customer needs without getting out of hand in regard to sales has really set them apart.

Beyond that, their Digital Growth program is very valuable, and I wouldn’t expect any other web developer to provide services like it. One of the things that makes Solid Digital unique is that they’ve done a lot of websites in different industries, but they always produce good work. I’ve come across a lot of companies that do web design en masse, and that’s how they make a dollar. Solid Digital is in a sweet spot of not being too expensive but also being very professional and doing a great job.

Are there any areas they could improve?

One challenging area has been trying to work with some of their more technically knowledgeable people for implementation with separate systems. For instance, I had to have several conversations with some of their technical staff and developers to configure domain name system (DNS) settings properly. That ballooned to involving our IT contractor.

It would be helpful if they had some kind of cheat sheet that explains common problems or changes that need to be made so that people with less experience in the technical realm can quickly and easily understand what needs to change and why.

Any advice for potential customers?

The most important thing for any future clients of Solid Digital is to be very honest about what they need. Solid Digital can get it done. Also, don’t be afraid to challenge your own assumptions about what you need to get the results you want. Trust that the team at Solid digital will provide sound counsel regarding a lot of the ideas people have for their own websites. They could even step back the scope of the project and get the same results that you expected.

**Feedback Summary**: Solid Digital is a responsive, capable group that can tackle technical issues as they come up. More than that, the team actively listens to their clients and works to better understand their needs so that they can prioritize them. They’re now on retainer and are well-positioned for expanded work.
"“They were thoughtful, generous, and all-encompassing good listeners.”
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

We’re a membership-based nonprofit that focuses on R&D for developing manufacturing technologies. Much like a consortium, we bring together smaller manufacturers, pair them with multi-billion-dollar companies, and help them develop projects that digitize and streamline their manufacturing processes.

I’m a communications and design associate at the organization. I also serve as the main point of contact for managing our relationship with Solid Digital.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Solid Digital?

We recently went through a heavy rebranding process in 2019. The vendor that was referred to us did it in two parts: first the rebrand and then the website.

The rebrand went well, however, the website was a little more challenging. We faced missed deadlines that pushed back the launch date twice, and there were a lot of turnovers. They also couldn’t provide the level of security that we required.

Eventually, we turned to Solid Digital to redo our site on WordPress.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

Solid Digital was tasked with completing our WordPress website, helping to build out our security infrastructure and providing hosting services on AWS. They did a great job adapting our original site considering that they didn’t write the initial code.

Now, they stay on for general maintenance. If there’s a bug, we just send them a quick message, and they help us figure it out. We’re also open to building out the relationship for future design work and more.

What is the team composition?

During the coding process, I got to speak to the COO a couple of times, which I thought was pretty impressive. From there, we’ve had a couple of different points of contact. There’s an engagement manager who handles our month-to-month invoicing, a project manager who is the point person for everything, and the director of technology.

Touching base with the tech director helps us make sure that everything is working smoothly. If there are any high-level questions, they’ll address them.

How did you come to work with Solid Digital?

When it came time to start researching different vendors, we tried to keep it local. I found Solid Digital and scheduled calls with them along with some other vendors.

In the end, we went with them after speaking to several people on their team. I liked that we weren’t siloed to one spokesperson and were given opportunities to really flesh out what we needed from their services. At the end of each call, our engagement manager would have an action plan to schedule meetings with the COO to get a better feel of their offerings, or I could speak with their developers.

How much have you invested with them?

So far, we’ve paid just under $30,000. They work on a bank of hours, meaning we buy a certain amount of time per month that’s dedicated to servicing the website.

What is the status of this engagement?

We first spoke with them in March 2020, and we’ve hired them full-time as our web developer and hosting service.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

It goes back to how personable they are. Before one of our meetings, I’d mentioned to our engagement manager that I’d just gotten engaged, and then out of nowhere, I received a package from Solid Digital congratulating me! It had little trinkets like candles and a board that counted down the days to the wedding.

That gesture was really telling of their service overall. It showed that they were thoughtful, generous, and all-encompassing good listeners.

How did Solid Digital perform from a project management standpoint?

It’s been good, so far. We have standing monthly meetings where we discuss whatever projects are going on at the time. They’re also always available via Basecamp and are pretty responsive, especially when it comes to addressing a bug. If there’s anything urgent, they handle it right away.

One thing that I want to emphasize is their level of expertise. There’s a lot of comfort, at least with me, in knowing that they know what they’re doing. With our last agency, they only supplied the bare minimum. We were often met with an “I don’t know” when we had questions about security bugs.

But that’s not the case with Solid Digital. No matter the issue, we can bring something to them and not only know that they’ll handle it, but also that they’ll do so in an appropriate amount of time.

What did you find most impressive about them?

As I mentioned before, they’re really good listeners. I remember during all of our meetings before we signed our contract, it was very easy to feel like they knew exactly what we needed and where we were coming from.

The COO was very attentive, as was the rest of his team. They didn’t act like we didn’t know what we needed and instead helped us define our requirements and how they could fit into that. That was really beneficial because it meant that our priorities became their priorities.

Are there any areas they could improve?

The communication between us and their project managers could be improved just a bit. For example, in our first month, we bought 40 hours of bug fixes. They handled it, but about two weeks later, they told us that they went through all 40 hours. If I had a warning that we were nearing the end of our monthly bank, I would’ve probably prioritized things a bit differently.

We’ve since straightened out that communication, so we’re extremely happy with them.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Be honest about what you need with Solid Digital because they’re more than accommodating. If there’s anything that they can’t provide, they’ll tell you. It’s also clear that they just want what’s best for their clients. I don’t feel like just another number because they put in the effort to understand us and our needs.

**Feedback Summary**: Solid Digital provided expert advice that helped the client make informed decisions. As a result, the website is well-designed and is functional. Easy to work with, the team was communicative and friendly. They managed the project well and delivered on time.
"“They stuck to our timelines and provided accurate estimations to when we could expect deliverables.”
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the research administrator for a research development and deployment startup company dedicated to improving the internet.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Solid Digital?

We needed a web presence dedicated to highlighting the research aspect of our business. We hired Solid Digital to design a website with a strong aesthetic appeal and roll it out for us.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

They used JavaScript and CSS to build the site completely from scratch. Focusing on the site’s architecture, they ensured that the site was easy to navigate. When we upload a publication, we can tag the researchers who participated in that publication. Then users will be able to find those publications when they visit each researcher’s profile.

They worked on the design and layout of the platform. For example, they prevented clutter by determining how many categories to have in the top scroll bar. Then they implemented drop-down menus when a user’s mouse hovers over different categories.

What is the team composition?

We worked with a manager and two people who managed the technical content.

How did you come to work with Solid Digital?

One of our design leads found them. Based on their portfolio and our conversations, we felt confident that they would be able to deliver a top-notch product in a short time frame.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started the project in November 2019 and wrapped it up about a month later in December.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

They were very pleasant to work with. They let us make the decisions on the project, but they used their expertise to guide us. They were good at articulating what they thought about certain aspects of the project. As a result, we were able to carefully consider their input and determine if there could be a better way to do things.

How did Solid Digital perform from a project management standpoint?

They were great. We used email and messaging platforms to communicate regularly and held calls on Zoom and Google Meets. The entire team was enjoyable to work with. They were accessible and responsive.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They stuck to our timelines and provided accurate estimations of when we could expect deliverables. They also communicated well. I doubt another company could do better.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I don’t think there was anything they needed to improve. We’ve added new features and made a few changes here and there, but we were focused on rolling out an MVP quickly when we were working on the project. In that regard, they delivered as well as we could have expected.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Be clear about what you want and what you’re willing to have their input on. It’s also important for your in-house team to involved with the process. You’ll need people who understand the technical and design aspects of the project to ensure you get the product you want. Finally, whoever will maintain the website after the project ends should be a part of the development. process.

**Feedback Summary**: Solid Digital takes the partnership to the next level and produces tangible results by not only implementing the client’s requests but also providing feedback and insights. Their proprietary Digital Growth Program has been key to growing the client’s web presence. The team is responsive and skilled.
"“Solid Digital looks at the big picture and how it’s ultimately going to drive results.”
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the VP of marketing strategy at Intelligent Medical Objects (IMO). I’ve been here for coming up on two years. My team runs all things performance marketing: events, campaigns, digital advertising, webinars, and performance reporting.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Solid Digital?

When we first engaged Solid, I was new to IMO, and the company was in desperate need of not only a website overhaul but also a complete rebrand. We set out to find an agency that could meet our needs in a very fast timeline.

While we were looking to rebrand and launch that brand via a new website, we were rationalizing what was an excessively large product portfolio at the same time. There were a lot of work streams moving simultaneously when we first engaged Solid Digital.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

Initially, our primary focus was to rebrand the company and apply that brand to the website. The company name wasn’t changing. In working with Solid Digital, we also determined that we weren’t going to change the logo. The scope became new fonts, color palettes, image directions, and things like that. We worked with Solid to identify what that looked like.

We came in thinking that we really wanted a Drupal site, but Solid pushed back on that based on what our needs were, how we were going to manage content on the site, and how big we envisioned the site getting. They proposed WordPress as being a better solution for our needs, and it has worked out really well. Solid built a WordPress website that uses the Elementor plug-in.

We now use them for Digital Growth, their proprietary program that supports SEO. We have a monthly engagement on that end of things to ensure that we’re continuing to drive people to the website and keep them engaged. They’re helping us prioritize objectives and create key milestones and tasks to help us achieve those objectives.

What is the team composition?

We’ve had a project manager on Solid Digital’s side from the beginning who helps wrangle all of the troops on both our sides. We essentially have access to their whole team, up to the CEO, who’s on some of the projects. Depending on where we are in the engagement, their creative director may get involved. We have calls with technical people from top to bottom. I and one of my counterparts are the main points of contact from IMO.

How did you come to work with Solid Digital?

When we started out the search, our best-case scenario was to get a local agency in Chicago —someone whom we could meet in-person. This isn’t always important, but it was this time. I believe we found Solid Digital on a list of top-rated agencies in Chicago.

We reached out to a lot of agencies, and Solid Digital was super responsive. They were quick to get on a call to assess what our needs were and understand the urgency in our timeline. They put together what was by far the most thoughtful proposal that we received, and it was also cost-effective and right within our budget. Solid is a smaller agency, but they definitely have the capabilities and brainpower. They had the cultural fit that we were looking for.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve invested at least $150,000 with them so far.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with Solid Digital in June 2019, and we launched the website in mid-August of that year. There was ongoing work and optimization on the website after that, and we continue to work with Solid Digital on SEO. The engagement will continue through 2021.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Solid Digital is bright and talented. They’re good designers and really thoughtful about the products they provide us and the ways that they approach our requests. They don’t stop thinking there, though. Solid Digital looks at the big picture and how it’s ultimately going to drive results — not just vanity metrics, but real results that are important to us and our business.

They recognize that every business is unique in what they look at and what’s important to them. The Solid team spends time getting to know us and our personalities, and they want us to have a meaningful partnership. Solid Digital has been a fabulous partner for us.

How did Solid Digital perform from a project management standpoint?

They do a good job. I’m probably more flexible on this part in that I recognize that we’re not their only client, so they won’t drop everything at our request. Solid Digital is responsive and accommodating, and the project management team that they have on our account has been lovely and really great to work with. There’s been a bit of turnover there, but the people we’ve had have always been delightful and good at their jobs. They keep us on task and on deadline, and I’m super appreciative of that on our end. We use Basecamp to track the project, submit requests, and receive updates.

We initially looked at our relationship with Solid as a partnership that was going to move forward into the future, well beyond the launch of the new brand and website. They’ve really been a solid partner in that regard. They don’t just take our requests and ideas and implement them directly; rather, they provide feedback, challenge us appropriately, and provide guidance and insights where needed. This ensures that not only are we getting what we want, but that we’re also going to end up with a product that drives results.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their Digital Growth Program is somewhat unique to them. They have a proprietary formula and approach to quantifying a web presence, which they coined and built out for their clients. They apply it to their own business as well, so it’s not just something they’re selling us. They’re continuously making tweaks and modifications to the process, so we benefit from what they’re learning while going through the same process as us.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They could stand to push us a little harder on some things, to do more and be better. I think that we could stand a bit more pressure.

Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?

The advice I’d give to any agency is for the client to be honest and direct and share what’s going on in their business, to the extent that they can and that’s appropriate. The more information Solid Digital has, and the better understanding they have on what our goals are for the year or longer, the better able they’ll be to build out a plan and ultimately results in direct support of those business goals. Clients should look at Solid Digital as a partner, and, in that partnership, each party should be equally informed.

Solid Digital has been our business partner for 5–6 years. We initially hired them for their development services.

Our partnership with them has a large scope that includes small web projects such as startup websites and larger projects. Their leadership team is one of the reasons that we’ve maintained our partnership throughout the past ten years. They’ve grown with the times and been flexible with us. We’ve had a range of projects with them over the years, so they don’t do just one thing. Their team’s always looking for new ventures and opportunities with us.

How did Solid Digital perform from a project management standpoint?

Our project manager is great, and their team’s well organized. They have a great system in place for delivering and meeting expectations. Their team provides environments for testing and specifying projects. They’re open to setting up systems for us to have the freedom that we want with feature development and product releases.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Solid Digital is flexible and open. They’re not a singularly focused shop. Their team’s been able to keep up with all of the different requirements that we’ve needed over the years.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They do a great job and match well with us.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Understand that they’re flexible and adaptable. Know what you want and communicate that to them. If you can do that, you’ll get great work out of Solid Digital.

"“They really took care of our needs.”
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the office manager of a law firm.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Solid Digital?

We brought them on for SEO services and to maintain our website.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

They created landing pages as well as posted content on our website. If something didn’t work on our end, they assisted us with updating the website, pages, and plug-ins. Our platform is on WordPress.

What is the team composition?

We worked with numerous people over the years. As people moved on, they assigned new individuals to us.

How did you come to work with Solid Digital?

We were with another company that merged with Solid Digital.

How much have you invested with them?

We invested about $35,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

Our engagement was from January 2015–April 2020.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

They completed the landing pages in about a month's timeframe. We worked well together, and they were receptive to feedback.

How did Solid Digital perform from a project management standpoint?

They utilized a project management tool to communicate with us and tell us how soon a task would be done. We always knew the status of the project as well as who was working on what. They really took care of our needs. We communicated through a portal, and our rep would correspond with us.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They were always willing to work with our partners who were very specific about what they wanted. Solid Digital tried to figure out a better way to help us and give us feedback on how certain things may look or fit. Likewise, they were receptive to our feedback and it was always professionally handled. If something wasn’t to our satisfaction, they made sure we were happy with the product.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Part of the reason we’re no longer with them is that we were looking to get more information on updating and possibly revamping our website. Our firm partners weren’t satisfied with the response to our questions directed at Solid Digital. Additionally, there was a lack of knowledge about law firms. We wanted a website that met our vision. Our partners were looking for something different. It wasn’t anything Solid Digital did wrong.

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I work in sales and marketing for a company that creates SQL management software to help people query their data platforms and manages their SQL.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Solid Digital?

We were doing a new product launch. That required that their team assisted with product design, a complete website redesign, and copywriting to accompany that.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

They ended up designing two products for us. First, we met together as a team to discuss our plans for taking our new product to market. They worked with us to quickly determine the status of our current product, taking in our feedback and requests for a modernized redesign. We wanted to make the product clean and easier to use.

From there, they guided the product through an in-house improvement framework before returning to us with recommendations on how to elevate the product. They also sat in during product review sessions, where were began showing their designs to users in the field. Having them hear user feedback directly streamlined the process and allowed them to quickly implement changes into the design to benefit user web flow.

For the website refresh project, we provided them with design direction and a few brands that we were inspired by. We came together collaboratively to make the website personable and showcase the real people behind the company. Branding ourselves as a company with people to support and listen to customers in addition to a great product became key to our design plan.

They asked for deliverables and documentation from us before implementing necessary information into the site design. There, they married our work with product design with our bold aims for the site design.

We used Invision, Sketch, and WordPress for our work with them, but they were open to using any of our preferred technologies. It was important to us that they were able to provide a WordPress framework that would be sustainable for the long-term. They even set up some additional backend processes to further support.

What is the team composition?

We worked with 2–3 developers, a lead designer, and a project manager. Additionally, an executive would check in on us every once in a while to make sure the project was running smoothly. Their CEO took a pretty active role in each of our projects. There was a project coordinator that helped move tasks forward as well.

How did you come to work with Solid Digital?

We were looking for a team was local to the majority of our team. As a Chicago-based firm, we thought they could be a good fit. Our company cultures really lined up. In the interview process, they made a point to inform us of their interest in our project. They were also brutally honest with us, even in our early meetings. Their up-front nature was encouraging.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together from about May 2018–November 2019. The project lasted about 18 months.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We’re still using their designs and products today. We often return to work they created for us several years ago. They always came up with fresh ideas and remained open to iterations and feedback from our team. Having design options along the way was hugely helpful for us.

We get great feedback on the product from our customers and users. Anecdotally, they praise the clean design and our implementation work.

They completed the work on time and gave us great recommendations, encouraging us to think critically about the metrics we wished to track once the product went to market. Soon after we launched, we were impressed and encouraged by the number of downloads we were receiving from customers. As they used the product, customers were also able to provide continuous feedback on the product, which was helpful.

How did Solid Digital perform from a project management standpoint?

They’re brilliant communicators, always sharing the next steps and warning us about potential delays in advance. If there were delays, they always had a reason as to why. We gave them some challenging deadlines, and I can’t recall a major deadline that they missed. They manage their team well and deliver on expectations.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They excel in thought leadership, applying it with care to our brand. It felt like they were an internal part of our team. They provide great reasoning for their processes and decision-making. Their honesty, cohesiveness, and commitment pushed us in the right direction.

While they didn’t have a ton of experience in our space, they were clear and committed to our success in taking our product to market. I’d love to work with them again and would recommend them to anyone looking for similar work.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I’d work with them again any day and can’t think of anything for them to improve upon.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Trust their knowledge and ask questions for context on why they’re making certain design choices. I’d recommend allowing them to be a thought leader. Once they get up to speed on your industry, they operationalize very fast.

Be open to letting them speak to your end-users as well. That helped us move quickly and iterate fast.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Solid Digital, LLC?

They helped us build a new website. Our marketing team wasn’t able to make any edits to our existing website without going through the development team, so we needed a complete CMS platform to manage our website.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

Solid Digital designed our website and helped us put together a look and feel that was easy for an older audience to read and take in information from. We tore down our old website, so they were basically starting from scratch. They helped us get onto WordPress so that we can easily make updates and changes ourselves.

They built out every page and form on our site. They also helped with tracking and reporting, and just the overall site architecture and page layout. They matched our brand to the website.

As a marketplace with a dual audience, we have to talk to two people at once, and Solid Digital helped us strategize what actually went on the website and how that customer journey would go. Also, as a startup, it’s important that we continue to build new web pages and offer new opportunities, so they implemented a drag-and-drop page builder called Elementor. They taught us how to use it.

What is the team composition?

We worked with about seven people in total. We had a project manager, account manager, creative director, junior art director, and then programmers who helped build the forms.

How did you come to work with Solid Digital, LLC?

A friend recommended them.

How much have you invested with them?

It was around $50,000–$60,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

Our work together began in May 2019, and we’re still on a maintenance plan with them. They delivered the website within 2–3 months in August 2019, which was a month ahead of schedule.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Our page speed is much better. We saw 50% more website traffic. We were also able to do A/B testing on the website and capture more leads. We went from 40 to 200 leads a month, which is probably more directly tied to advertising.

How did Solid Digital, LLC perform from a project management standpoint?

They’re excellent. We were on a very strict schedule, and we got everything done a month before we were scheduled to. They went out of their way to make sure that we got everything on time and that we were happy.

They used Basecamp to provide us with updates on the design direction and everything like that. Now that we’re on the maintenance plan, they’re quick to answer any requests that we have.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their creative work sets them apart. They really got a feel for who we were, and they were able to make a website that reflects our brand. We get tons of compliments on the way our website looks, especially in the somewhat antiquated industry of agriculture. We were able to make a nice, clean website that is running very smoothly.

In my previous job, I built websites, and I never got a website finished on time. Solid Digital was able to work quickly and exceed expectations for deliverability, which almost never happens.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No.

Any advice for potential customers?

You’re in good hands, so go with their advice on web trends. Definitely do the Elementor training so that you can make edits yourself after they’ve built the website. Just trust their creative instincts.

**The Review** — Sep 22, 2020

**Feedback Summary**: The project brought in new customers and increased engagement on social media. Solid Digital, LLC provides high-quality work and their growth strategy sets them apart from other marketing agencies. They managed the project effectively by dividing up each role and assigning each task to a specialist.
""It’s a perfect blend of strategy, intellect, and laughter."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the president of Municipal Marking Distributors (MMD) and Flat Can Recycling. MMD is a construction supply company and we specialize in the paint that marks underground utilities and also the little sticks of wood that land surveyors and excavators pound into the ground for infrastructure development. Flat Can Recycling recycles spray paint.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Solid Digital, LLC?

We’re a very small group of companies and we knew that we wouldn’t be good at marketing because it's not our area of expertise. We were looking for a marketing company that could teach and guide us on the best way to achieve our marketing goals.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

We brought them on as consultants for both of my companies. They also helped us with design work, direct mail, and SEO.

We’ve done a lot of paid advertising together. After our first paid advertising project wasn't very successful, we've identified new markets and have made changes. Since then, we've continued to work on paid advertising for niche products.

They thrust me into the world of social media. We’ve written a ton of blogs and things like that. They pushed me into writing blogs and I wrote about the company and the culture that we have here. We put it on our website and on LinkedIn.

What is the team composition?

I got really lucky because the president of Solid Digital, LLC was able to come to my office to meet with me the first time. I felt that was really special. It was also nice, at the time, pre-pandemic, that he could come and see our space, our warehouse, and get a vibe about who we are and what we do.

I also worked with Jessica (Engagement Manager), Marla (Digital Marketing Strategist),  and Diana (Director of Experiences).

How did you come to work with Solid Digital, LLC?

I was hesitant to work with a marketing agency because they’re often really expensive. I found them through a small business owner, who referred them to me.

We wanted somebody who would be with us for the long haul. We like to create long-lasting relationships and were also looking for a good culture fit. I also wanted to make sure that all of our work was measurable. We would give them the problem and they’d come up with a solution. Solid Digital, LLC proved that they could do that for us.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent $20,000–$25,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in July 2019 and the work is ongoing.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We've met several success metrics. Solid Digital, LLC helped portray our brand in a way that matches who we are internally. There are no blurred lines between what we do within the office, our attitude towards each other, and how we represent ourselves to customers, vendors, and the outside world.

When I met with them, our sister company, Flat Can Recycling, was just like a pipedream, but they were able to help us turn it into an actual corporation. That’s huge.

We do get new customers from it and get conversations going. That is a huge success in my mind. It’s opening the door. As a small company, having over 300 views of our blog is big.

Getting the conversation going on social media has been a huge success. They formed a system of how we track of different types of customers and how engaged they are. I’m really not doing them justice; they’ve done so much for us.

How did Solid Digital, LLC perform from a project management standpoint?

Our process involves outlining an action together that covers about a three month time period. Then we each have action steps to ensure it gets done. Overall, the system works very well for us.

They have a dedicated group of people managing the project and they lead a team of people. It’s almost like they made our project the center of everything and they work around that.

Jessica managed all of our digital growth reporting and she facilitated between my questions and the rest of the group. She kept things moving and organized, but I still had a lot of interaction with the rest of the team. They all have very specific roles, but they’re all informed on what's going on, which is really amazing. They clearly communicate well internally.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The quality of everything they do — from how they contact you to the strategy and digital measurements they conduct — is really impressive. Their whole digital growth program, which is how they measure the marketing strategies that they provide, totally sets them apart. I’ve talked to other people and nobody has even heard of it.

The other part of it is they’re such a humble company. They’re so professional but they laugh and joke and roll with the punches. It’s a perfect blend of strategy, intellect, and laughter.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I don’t know their trajectory. I don’t know if they want more small businesses like mine. I don’t know where they’re headed.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Sit down and have a conversation with them. I’d think a new customer would need to know the direction they’re heading. They don’t need to know all the details, but they should have an idea about the kind of goals they want to set for their business. Be prepared to talk about that and be open-minded.

**The Review** — Jun 16, 2020

**Feedback Summary**: The team delivered an intuitive website with valuable search capabilities that generated positive feedback from stakeholders. Solid Digital, LLC established a notable social media presence, helping to secure thousands of followers. Their impressive industry expertise ensures future engagement.
""They’re a forward-looking design team that wants products to not only look beautiful but also be functional."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the executive vice president and director of marketing for Pine Tree. We’re a real estate company that manages shopping centers all around the country.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Solid Digital, LLC?

Our company expanded from 30 employees to well over 100 and grew our portfolio from 30 properties to nearly 130. The growth occurred overnight as a peer joined the Pine Tree ranks.

In anticipation of that growth, we wanted to refresh our website. One of our biggest challenges was figuring out a way to import all of the new property data into a platform and make that information searchable.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

Solid Digital helped us redesign and launch a revitalized website. To help us nail down the initial design, their team used InVision. In the end, all of their work was done in WordPress. They built a system from the ground up that allows users to filter their searches and find the properties that fit those constraints.

Their team also helped to grow the social media presence of individual shopping centers. They managed Facebook pages, reached out to the stores to help them promote their own businesses, and communicate with our communities. Their team not only managed the content but also the ad spend.

What is the team composition?

In terms of the social media project, there were usually 3 people involved. We had an account manager, a social media manager, and a content creator on the team. On the website project, we worked with their creative director, CEO, web developers, and marketing managers.

How did you come to work with Solid Digital, LLC?

We initially worked with a company that eventually merged with Solid Digital. We’ve worked with them off and on ever since.

How much have you invested with them?

The website redesign cost $30,000. We spent about $70,000 annually on their social media services.

What is the status of this engagement?

With Solid Digital proper, our engagement started around April 2017. We just wrapped up a project in May 2020. We don’t an active engagement, but I certainly hope to work together again in the future.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We always wanted to have a property search function, which made our website more usable. They spotlighted our brand when our portfolio expanded. The expansion happened during an industry lull, but we got positive feedback about our growth, our website, and its new functions.

We have to give their social media team credit for being data-driven and analytical. Their team helped us start Facebook pages from scratch. Each page now has thousands of followers. The pages continue to be our primary method of marketing on behalf of our shopping centers. Their team was essential in spearheading these campaigns and implementing best practices.

How did Solid Digital, LLC perform from a project management standpoint?

Solid Digital was always in control. Their team pushed the website development, which had a tight deadline. We came to them in November and rolled out the new site just after the new year. That’s a testament to their project and time management skills.

On the social media side, we always felt like their favorite client. Likewise, they’re one of our favorite vendors. It was easy to get in touch with them.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their team is expert at what they do. They’re a forward-looking design team that wants products to not only look beautiful but also be functional. They combine that perspective with heavy data analytics, which we emphasized in both projects. On our social media profiles, their team dove into demographics and ran different A/B tests for ads. I really appreciated their combination of left and right brain capabilities.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, I always found them to be personable.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

It’s helpful to be honest and share your initial vision. They excel at creating a vision if you allow them to do that. If you can formulate an opinion, their team will help to achieve your goals.

**The Review** — Jun 15, 2020

**Feedback Summary**: Solid Digital, LLC successfully delivered the module, which better meets the needs of online learners. The team dedicated expert project management resources, streamlining communication and encouraging progress. Their professionalism and responsiveness to feedback led to a satisfying final product.
""Their team was able to answer my questions."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m vice president of an association for the metals trade.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Solid Digital, LLC?

We originally asked their team to put together new curriculum for today’s learner.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

Their team worked on our online product training. One of our experts developed the content and created the curriculum through voice over with text. After receiving that layout, I formatted the curriculum to suit Solid.

They created mockups and wireframes, eventually building the online learning module and implementing the curriculum. Their team collected information through Google Docs where our team posted content such as pictures, which Solid adapted.

Now, they work on web development projects. Their team updates our company website.

What is the team composition?

In the beginning, I met with 3–4 people. Once the project started, one person from their team led it. Amber (Director of Production) was my main point of contact.

How did you come to work with Solid Digital, LLC?

My colleague started our relationship with Solid.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started our relationship in 2018, and we’re still working together.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Amber let us know exactly what their team needed from our expert. She constantly gave us timelines, so it was helpful to have her as my main point of contact. We were able to keep the project moving forward.

How did Solid Digital, LLC perform from a project management standpoint?

We collaborated through Basecamp and communicated easily. We told them which slides needed which pictures. If we went too long without talking, Amber checked-in, which was helpful. She ensured that the project moved forward. The project was done extremely professionally. When we provided feedback, they fixed the issues.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Amber was fantastic. Their team was able to answer my questions.

Are there any areas they could improve?

We completed our full contract with them but moved forward with our expert because they understood our industry. This reduces the chance that we'll have to re-start tasks due to misunderstandings. Solid needed a greater amount of information than we anticipated. Their team had the intent to improve, so the intent was fantastic. But the result wasn’t there.

We also used Google Docs, which was cumbersome for our team. We had to take extra time to create the content in the format that Solid preferred. There would’ve been a happier relationship between our teams if there was more leeway with the platforms.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Work with Amber. She was amazing.

**Feedback Summary**: Solid Digital, LLC ensured a smooth transition and continues to provide ongoing maintenance. As a result, the sites never experience sustained downtime. The team worked quickly on urgent issues to ensure a smooth process. Partners can expect to work with a team dedicated to customer satisfaction.
"“They’re good at keeping track of the broader picture, striving to maintain the timeline despite delays.”
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the digital lead for a philanthropic foundation.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Solid Digital, LLC?

We migrated from Legacy software to a WordPress CMS on our website platforms. We were looking for a company to provide support for all of those platforms.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

They provide on-demand support, including troubleshooting, adding functionality, and upgrading four websites.
They are currently working on a redesign of the main website for the foundation. Their creative team is putting together a whole new look and feel for the site. They are creating a clean aesthetic with a mobile-first design scheme that looks great across all platforms, including desktop.
The website is straightforward and content-oriented. They are helping us add a blog, making it a bit more editorial focused while threading related content around the site in relation to various initiatives and grant-making programs of ours.
They did initial concepts; flat wireframes and well-designed examples of different templates. We are working collaboratively, in real-time, on visual design.
They’ve also been helping us with Elementor WordPress; it allows for designing templates in a forward-looking way. They are helping us stitch together the modules within templates.

What is the team composition?

Depending on the support workload, there are 5-6 people we interact with. For the redesign, it has mostly been their creative lead working with our account lead.

How did you come to work with Solid Digital, LLC?

I have known Jesse (CEO & Partner) and Travis (COO & Partner) for a long while, and have worked with them on projects in the past. I knew they were dependable and scalable, and I wanted to work with them.

What is the status of this engagement?

We began working together around June 2018, and it’s ongoing.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We’ve never suffered any kind of sustained downtime; we’ve been able to solve every problem that has arisen. Even though they didn’t build or design it, they’ve helped us clean the build after we had migrated from Drupal to WordPress CMS.

They work quickly on urgent issues. For example, we launched a project slightly early and, due to stringent security systems in place, we had to maneuver through a lot of unexpected security hoops. They worked late, and over the weekend, to get us visible.

How did Solid Digital, LLC perform from a project management standpoint?

There aren’t a lot of “projects” in the support realm; it’s more solving issues or publishing code, testing QA, pushing to production, etc. With the redesign, they set up a solid project plan, and are flexible in dealing with the unexpected modifications we encounter on a weekly basis. They’re good at keeping track of the broader picture, striving to maintain the timeline despite delays.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They are well-resourced with a priority for client satisfaction. For example, they have regular assessments for clients to fill out regarding how they feel about the way things are going. If I had an issue, I’m confident it would be addressed quickly and thoroughly.  They have shown that they expect internal accountability and the leadership is visible in client relationships. They also offer different tiers of service, allowing clients to customize the level of involvement they require.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I can’t think of anything.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

They are an established firm with great expertise, without giant administrative overhead.

**The Review** — May 29, 2020

**Feedback Summary**: In addition to producing high-quality work, Solid Digital, LLC is an extremely professional partner. They continue to invest both in the product they are creating as well as their working relationship. The team is punctual, accessible, and willing to immediately address any challenges that arise.
""The amount of energy, time, and focus that Solid Digital invests in each project shows that they care."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the VP of Bliss Car Wash, an express carwash company located in Southern California. Our machines do all the work; we only do exterior washes with the option of self-serve vacuuming around the property.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Solid Digital?

The carwash industry is very old-fashioned and stuck in its ways. It’s very rare to make technological advancements in the industry. We wanted Solid Digital to advance our technology in many different ways.

First, we wanted them to help us with our online presence and with signing up members through our website. This also led to us wanting to create our own app that will give members access to their vacuum codes.

At some properties, we have limited-time vacuums, which require a code. To make it easier, we wanted members to have a continuous code that they could pull up on their apps so that we wouldn't need to keep refreshing their code.

Additionally, we wanted to reward our members and non-members by allowing them to create accounts. This would allow us to reward them for continuously working with us.

Before we met Solid Digital, we were working with another company that wasn't doing very well.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

Solid Digital is currently building our app. They’re adding functionality that will allow members to pull up their vacuum codes. The team also revamped our website, taking it to a more technologically advanced level.

What is the team composition?

We work with a project manager, an app developer, and two designers. We’re very friendly with the CEO who sometimes oversees the project as well.

How did you come to work with Solid Digital?

Our head of IT had done some work with Solid Digital’s CEO previously, and he mentioned that they were a good candidate for building out our app. We got bids from other companies, but this team showed unmatched professionalism right off the bat.

Solid Digital is based in Chicago and Portland, but hey flew their CEO, COO, and web designer down to our offices to meet with us. This professionalism was great. With the other company we worked with, we only saw them once every quarter.

How much have you invested with them?

So far, we’ve spent $200,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

In May 2019, we gave them a small project which involved building out our e-commerce platform. We’re still working with them, and we’re in the final stages of the app development.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Solid Digital’s quality is above standard. You would think you were paying millions of dollars for what they’re doing. I honestly couldn’t be happier.

Our entire team is extremely happy with the work that the team is producing. They are always on time and very appropriately-priced for the work they do and the time and energy they’re putting in.

How did Solid Digital perform from a project management standpoint?

Their structure is refreshing and on point. It’s very easy to reach out to them when needed. We’ve only had one delay because of COVID-19. As a whole, everything that they do is extremely professional and on time.

We look forward to having our bi-weekly meetings because they bring the type of energy, experience, and knowledge that makes us feel comfortable in their work. Everyone in their corporate structure is always there to help and lend a hand.

Even when they’re pressed for time, there’s always someone available to speak to us when the rest of the team might be busy working on another project. There’s never a time when we can’t get a hold of them. We use Basecamp.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The amount of energy, time, and focus that Solid Digital invests in each project shows that they care. We don’t know if we’re on the smaller or bigger side of their client base, but it doesn’t matter because they put in the same energy across the board.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, I honestly don’t have suggestions. Every time we’ve had an issue, it’s been addressed immediately. They communicate constantly with us, and we’re able to communicate easily when we’re disappointed about something.

The team always takes our issues and handles them. Nothing is ever going to be perfect when working with another company, but Solid Digital makes the process easy. When we have a problem, they encourage us to communicate it as soon as possible.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Be open and honest with them, and set your expectations from the get-go. They will rarely set the bar lower than you do. As I mentioned before, I was truly impressed when they showed up to our offices from two different states just for a couple of hours.

Our CEO, who has been in the carwash for a long time, was beyond impressed with Solid Digital’s professionalism.

What challenge were you trying to address with Solid Digital, LLC?

Our websites were very outdated so we wanted to find a vendor to help us with the design and development of new sites.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

The team took care of the development, design, and SEM for both sites. They helped us choose what platform to develop our sites on. We went over wireframes and branding with their team at the beginning stages of the project. They helped us refine our image and consulted us on how to manage our digital media presence.

My main point of contact was Jessica (Engagement Manager, Solid Digital, LLC). I also worked with a developer and Derek (Creative Director, Solid Digital, LLC) who worked on the creative aspects of the sites.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, it was a really good experience.

Do you have advice for potential customers?

I highly recommend working with them.

For what projects/services did your company hire Solid Digital, LLC?

We hired Solid Digital to create a new website for our company.

What were your goals for this project?

We wanted our website to rival those of our competitors but also be more creative. The main purpose of our website isn't necessarily to secure future jobs, but more so it's focused on recruiting the best talent. We wanted the website to be easy to use, creative and photo-centric.

**SOLUTION**
How did you select this vendor?

Solid Digital had the best of everything! Not only is their team great, but their portfolio is incredible, and their professionalism is unmatched. Plus, their price point was right where we wanted to be.

Describe the project and the services they provided in detail.

Created a new website for us Did market research Created two options for us to choose from Meeting coordination Graphic creation Photo editing Copy writing Project Management

What was the team composition?

They had three people we worked with consistently, and a few others who would come in for different things. One designer/developer, one project manager, and one creative director.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

Our clients and employees really like the website and it's been attracting more recruits!

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

So well! They arranged weekly meetings to stay on top of tasks and used Google drive and Basecamp which made everything pretty easy to manage.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Working with the Solid Digital team is an absolute joy. By far the best vendor group I've ever had the pleasure of working with-- which is saying a lot because I have worked with some incredible and creative vendors in the past. Their professionalism combined with their expertise, organization and creativity is unmatched.

Plus-- they're just a fun group to work with! Solid Digital hires the types of people you'd grab a beer with after work after accomplishing all the things. They were exactly what we were looking for in a vendor-- experts who are willing to manage the project from start to finish. We didn't have to micromanage them or ask for updates-- they were always on the ball and one step ahead of us. 10/10 would hire again.

Are there any areas for improvement?

Nope.

**The Review** — Jan 3, 2020

**Feedback Summary**: Solid Digitial, LLC took a complex premise and provided effective workarounds to meet the client's needs. Their solution offered different ways for users to participate in the auction, even if they weren't physically there. During the event, bid numbers also increased notably.
""They evolved with us as we went through, and the result was more than we could have hoped for!"
"

**BACKGROUND**
Please describe your company and your position there.

¡Salud! The Oregon Pinot Noir Auction is an annual auction in Oregon's wine country, put on by the Tuality Healthcare Foundation. Proceeds from this two-day event fund healthcare and outreach to Oregon's vineyard workers and their families.

As the Event Coordinator, I work with the community to develop support for the events, coordinate all logistics and public relations, and manage volunteer committees.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
For what projects/services did your company hire Solid Digital, LLC?

One of our events, the Big Board Auction, relies on a custom software to track and display guest's bids.

The software we had been using for 10+ years had been developed by a volunteer team, and was being maintained by volunteers who flew in once a year for the event.

The front-end design was in need of a major face lift, but the current team could not support this. Also, the risk to fundraising was considerable if the volunteer team was unable to attend for some reason.

We were looking to transition the software to a local contact, and explore ways to improve the user experience and expand our capacity in the process. We needed a team with an understanding of both front and back end design and a way to integrate cell phone bidding into the new design.

What were your goals for this project?

Our goals were to transition the project to a local contact, to dramatically improve the front-end design, and to look for ways to increase capacity by adding mobile bidding capacities. We anticipated that project would aid us in raising funds to support our non-profit.

**SOLUTION**
How did you select this vendor?

Starting with our steering committee, we circulated an RFP and asked for recommendations of local vendors. After discussing a few vendors, we began the process with Solid Digital.

One of our key committee members and staff were involved in moving the decision forward, and the budget and scope was brought to the committee before the project moved forward.

It was important that we were working with someone who could complete the project under the timeline, and that would be available to support the product during the event.

Describe the project and the services they provided in detail.

Using an existing bidding database, they developed a new bidding display, created a brand new mobile bidding experience giving guests the option to bid from their phone and receive text message notifications, and created a bidder registration process. They needed to take into consideration the many ways bidder information enters the system and created solutions based on the nuances.

What was the team composition?

We worked with a central project manager throughout. We began with design and transitioned to back-end, function design. We worked with about five central people over the course of the project.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

One of our goals was adding bidders to the event who were not physically at the event. We saw about 50 bidders register who were not attendees, and two of those bidders were successful during the event.

We saw many more bid during the event as well. With limited capacity in our venues, being able to add potential supporters to this event through mobile bidding is a great investment for our future.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

Project management was very effective. We used regular video calls to review design, and used Basecamp to track conversations and files.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

We were most impressed by their patience and ability to distill what seemed like a complex issue into workable solutions. Our team was not very technically versed, so having an expert who could dream up solutions was such a gift. They evolved with us as we went through, and the result was more than we could have hoped for!

Are there any areas for improvement?

Nope.

**The Review** — Oct 15, 2019

**Feedback Summary**: All performance indicators improved within a month of the launch, and Solid Digital, LLC continues to help the brand evolve. They are dedicated to the site’s success, and they worked hard to deliver the finished product ahead of schedule.
"“They offered a lot of solutions, and they had a great understanding of WordPress.”
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.
We're an online marketplace for farmland rental. I'm the vice president of marketing.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Solid Digital, LLC?
Our first website was made in a hurry and had outlived its usefulness. We faced technical issues, and the site wasn't working the way we needed it to. We wanted to integrate our CRM, improve opportunities for lead capture, and create a better site structure overall.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?
They've worked with us on website strategy, design, and development. The new site was built from scratch in WordPress, and Solid helped us better facilitate lead capture from the site and get data into our CRM in a smooth and easy way. Solid helped us build Gravity Forms to facilitate data capture from the site and get data into our CRM in a smooth and easy way. We started with a strategic kickoff meeting, then they came back with some wireframes. We iterated on those wireframes, then they managed all the design.
What is the team composition?
Our main point of contact throughout the project was our project manager. We also worked with a creative director and a number of developers.
How did you come to work with Solid Digital, LLC?
We evaluated several agencies to help us build a new site. I knew about Solid Digital from my experience at another agency. A client of mine used them, so I knew how they worked and had a good idea of their capabilities. We ultimately chose them for their proximity and their understanding of our business and how we needed the website to play into our marketing efforts. They had great examples, and we had a good rapport with them right away.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working together in May 2019, and we launched in August 2019. Now, we have a support agreement with them for ongoing maintenance.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Within a month of our launch, traffic, time on site, conversions, and page views all went up. People engage with our content, and all the analytics are positive. They beat all our previous performance indicators by a wide margin, and they continue to help us evolve. Overall, we were really happy with Solid Digital's level of dedication. We always felt like a priority, even though I know they had other clients. They sped up the timeline and made sure we met all our deadlines. From the beginning, they were willing to do whatever it took to make sure we were successful.
How did Solid Digital, LLC perform from a project management standpoint?
We were really happy with their project management. I have an agency background, and I've launched several websites in my career. This was the first site I've ever worked on that launched early. We worked very well together, and they were extremely responsive and proactive. They took the challenge seriously, and they made sure the quality met our standards. We used Basecamp to manage the project, and we also had a dedicated Slack channel.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They really focus on digital deliverables, and they had a deep knowledge in specific areas. They offered a lot of solutions, and they had a great understanding of WordPress. They were very smart, and they're good people to work with. They care for their clients, and they make sure everything works.
Are there any areas they could improve?
There were a couple of last-minute fixes that took a little while, but we did push for an early launch. I understand why those little issues came up, and I don't have any complaints for their work overall.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Communicate with them. They make themselves very available and are very good about checking in. If you follow their process, your project will run smoothly and your site will launch on time.

Executive Director, NetJets Association of Shared Aircraft Pilots

- Client size: 1-10 Employees
- Review Type: Online Review

**The Review** — Sep 26, 2017

**Feedback Summary**: The completed web-based resource performed impeccably and proved tremendously popular with leadership, members, and staff alike. Solid Digital’s exceptional project management, flexible assistance, and constant communication contributed to a rewarding partnership.
""They took the time to understand our vision and were open-minded." "

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

The NetJets Association of Shared Aircraft Pilots (NJASAP) represents the professional interests of over 2,700 pilots who fly in the service of NetJets Aviation, Inc., a Berkshire Hathaway subsidiary. Established in 2008, NJASAP is governed by a five-member democratically elected Executive Board and supported by a professional staff and over 125 dedicated pilot volunteers. As an independent labor advocate focused exclusively on representing the NetJets pilots, the union maintains robust services and resources as well as a vital industry affairs program that seeks to advance aviation, the piloting profession, and organized labor aviation on Capitol Hill. NJASAP is based in Columbus, Ohio.

As the executive director, I am responsible for providing strategy guidance for and supporting the Association's elected leaders, directing all intra- and extra-organizational communication and managing the NJASAP professional staff as well as our relationships with vendors and consultants.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Solid Digital?
We wanted to consolidate access to our three online resources—the website, message board, and member database—by making them available via single credential set within a completely redesigned online community. Previously, the end user had to enter a unique credential set to access each resource. The project demanded the creation of a single sign‐on (SSO) protocol that granted access to end users based on their status in the member database. Once access was granted, the user could seamlessly navigate all three resources.
To measure the success of this effort, we developed five metrics based on giving our 2,700-plus members access to the following:
a website that was incredibly robust and user-friendly with sharp, clean lines,
a web resource that put necessary information into their hands quickly and with ease,
a single login point for members‐only sections,
a dashboard that integrated with all existing and new web applications, and
an intuitive user interface that looked consistent across all applications.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

They provided a full range of services, beginning with strategy and ending with continued support. They had a good feel for what we wanted. We had maybe two follow-up, in-person meetings where we got into the nitty-gritty of what we wanted. From there, the project really took off.

Because web design and the associated technology fell squarely within Solid's expertise, we let them take the lead. Of course, we felt more than comfortable requesting changes throughout the process. However, our strategy sessions were exceptionally productive, allowing designers and programmers to get a true feel for NJASAP's vision and run with it.

They completed an SSO with vBulletin as a component. The underlying CMS written in JS was developed by Solid and functioned like an API and database. We appreciated that they’d written this forward-facing technology in a language known to most developers.

What is the team dynamic?

Numerous people were involved, and they brought in whoever’s competency matched the project need at that time. I assume they engaged every person on their team at some point. They handled a lot of that internally, which I appreciate because our project was so massive. We were bringing together three completely unique web properties and asking them to communicate with each other seamlessly. Now, it works like a charm.

Jesse [CEO & Partner, Solid Digital], our technical lead, enthusiastically communicated a vision for the project, and his quiet confidence made me believe that he and his team could deliver what we needed.

How did you come to work with Solid Digital?

I found them online. We met with Naveed [CRO & Partner, Solid Digital] and Jesse in February 2015 in Dallas for a session of planning. I don’t think that our organization really knew what we needed at the time. That planning session gave us enough information to develop the RFP. Once we had the RFP in place, we talked to four different groups, including Solid. In 72 hours, we went to Portland, Chicago, and New York. We ultimately selected Solid because they seemed aware of our technical and creative requirements.

What is the status of this engagement?

We began the selection process in February 2015 and officially entered into an agreement with Solid in May 2016.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We couldn’t be more pleased with our redeveloped community. The SSO protocol works without fail to the delight of our leadership, members, volunteers, and staff. The NJASAP online community has been tremendously popular, drawing more members. Since our membership is geographically disbursed, a dynamic online community that features timely, relevant resources is a requirement and now a major asset.

How did Solid Digital perform from a project management standpoint?

They excelled at developing timelines and providing prompt updates. We communicated via web conference or teleconference, depending on what was most appropriate. I was pleased with how they handled such a massive project. Any delays were totally due to our organization trying to acclimate to everything that was going on. We used Basecamp to provide feedback to each other and talk about tasks. We used a different online tool when we were talking in person.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I appreciated that they took the time to talk to us and remained flexible. They offer exceptional flexibility, accessibility, and expertise. They took the time to understand our vision and were open-minded. They understood that they didn’t know my audience like I did. They weren’t trying to force something on me that they’d done before because it would be easier or faster.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I don’t think that they could have done anything differently. Toward the end stages, I would’ve felt more comfortable with having more in-person meetings. I actually want to feel and see people in the room. I’m sure if I’d asked for that, they would have honored my request. If I had the opportunity to do this project again, I would’ve made all the same choices that we did previously.

**The Review** — Nov 4, 2014

**Feedback Summary**: The project was successful, even given the tight deadlines. Solid Interactive showed great attention to detail and communication throughout the project. The team used a progress tracker in order to show what part of the project was being worked on at what time, which helped in collaboration.
""Their attention to detail, their tenacity, and their overall coding skills from the development side were on point.""

**BACKGROUND**
Please describe your company.

MPI Medical is a global leader in PTP, which is prototype to production. We specialize in medical device manufacturing for low-value products. We have engineers in house. Our facility is 66,000 square feet. We do all the tooling and all the design up until full production when it goes to market.

We’re a contract manufacturer specifically for the medical device market. As of last year, we spun off from our company, Spectrum Plastics Group. It’s private equity so we did an official spinoff from them and now we’re a standalone company focused solely on medical. Our niche market is medical device manufacturing with components like bio-injectables. We do DNA testing kits and that sort of thing.

What are your role and responsibilities?

I am the sales and marketing coordinator. I update our website as far as news posts. We have a blog. I get advertisements for us in trade show magazines. I organize trade shows.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What was your goal for working with Solid Interactive?

The purpose of the website was that we needed to rebrand, we needed something fresh to set us apart from Spectrum. We’re a brand new company and we celebrated our one year anniversary in September.

**SOLUTION**
Please describe the scope of their work.

The work is completed. We now have a monthly maintenance agreement in case there are any maintenance issues that need to be tackled. They’ll handle that.

What was your process for selecting Solid Interactive with which to work?

We worked with a woman, Dawn Brucali. She is part of the chamber of commerce here in the Valley in Connecticut. We knew she was a highly reputable source and she gave us solid information. She had worked with them previously on another company in Connecticut, Inline Plastics, so she gave us that reference. I’ve worked with Dawn before so I trusted her and that’s how we met Jesse [McCabe, founder and CEO of Solid Interactive] and his team.

Can you provide a ballpark dollar figure for the size of the work that they’ve done for you?

The cost range total was $20,000. The amount of hours differed. I think it was $100 per hour.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What were the results of the project?

The project was quite successful. We had very tight deadlines. We started in mid-February and we finished the entire site in June. They said it could take a year plus, but we had really tight deadlines. We needed to get this website out for our tradeshow that we were exhibiting at in New York City.

We needed to have new branding out there on the Web for our customers to see. I thought their attention to detail and accuracy was really on point. We had weekly scheduled conference calls where I spoke with the project manager, Shuba. I also dealt with Jessica Troop as well, who as another employee, along with Jesse, too, managed the entire project. I especially liked their system called “Atlassian.” It was a JIRA system essentially where I would go and login and I could track their progress visually via seeing what was inputted for the tickets.

It was a backlog of all the work conducted and what progress they were doing. It had visuals as well. It was a concrete way of seeing what they’re doing on their end to see how they develop the site.

Anytime, we had questions or wanted to make simple design changes or copy changes, they were very forward. I know the actual developer who did all the coding, he was great. There were minimal mistakes, if anything. They built this site from the bottom up. It was a custom platform CSS [Cascading Style Sheets], completely brand new design and concept. It was not bought off the shelf from WordPress at all. It was completely custom to what we wanted.

Do you have any statistics or metrics to track improvement from the project?

No.

Is there anything unique about them that really makes them stand out, compared to other companies?

They are process driven and their team is organized. They collaborate really well together. We had this deadline and they were able to deliver. They are extremely talented. This was a website built from the bottom up. These people know what they’re doing and they succeeded. Their attention to detail, their tenacity, and their overall coding skills from the development side were on point.

Looking back on the work so far, is there any area that you think they could improve upon or something that you might do differently?

No. I wouldn’t say anything to improve on. Their transparency was huge with this project.

## Portfolio & Awards

### OnBoard: Website Design and UX
OnBoard, a board management software company, needed a partner to solve a particular challenge: A clearer brand story, a better value showcase, and improved qualified conversions—all through a modernized website design.
OnBoard’s site needed to be part of a more relevant and simplified digital presence—one that communicated their brand story, clearly showcasing their value to improve the conversion rate of qualified buyers. They sought to future-proof and evolve the brand image through the design. Additionally, they wanted the ability to test various user journeys with internal A/B testing as they grew.
They marked out these specific goals with the new website:

Obtain more leads per month
Provide the best service at the middle and bottom of the funnel
Show value, outcomes and experience
Modernize the design, making it relevant
Increase organic visitors to avoid dependence on paid-channels

The Results
Solid Digital involved OnBoard’s team heavily in the project with added check-ins and more working sessions, eliminating any big reveals. The client was engaged throughout: Ashley, OnBoard’s designer, gave helpful feedback during the design portion, and their Senior Digital Experience Manager, Nick, was in the know, advocating for Solid Digital’s recommendations at each step to keep the project seamless.

### LumenVox: Rebranding & Web Design
LumenVox came to Solid Digital as a brand new client in 2021, looking for a way to elevate their brand and create a forward-thinking, future-minded website that could drive top-funnel leads and establish a strategic journey with high-value CTAs.
Their smaller marketing team was looking for a web design agency and needed Solid Digital to take the lead with project management for a comprehensive, full-service rebrand and new website. By elevating their brand through a renewed visual identity, specialized copywriting, and a complete website overhaul, Solid Digital partnered with LumenVox to align their marketing and digital presence with their top-of-the-line technology.
In general, beyond a full rebrand, a big pain point was that the website was not user-centric. During the time of wireframe design, the branding exercises also informed the new copy provided by Solid Digital. The copy on the old website was too technical, the website pages were difficult to scan and users couldn’t find information. Solid Digital created the wireframes and the main navigation (that showed the most important things for users) and wrote copy that was friendly, approachable, and just complex enough to convey the intricacies of AI speech technology. After a handful of revisions, the copy reached the perfect blend of both intelligent and intelligible.
LumenVox’s new branding and website show a picture of the company’s future: bright, moving, and engaging.
Handling a total rebrand and a fully new website was an epic before-and-after success. Both LumenVox and Solid Digital were happy to collaborate in creating a fresh start for an already-accomplished company.

### Hireology: Website Redesign
With a unique SaaS that put recruiting and hiring all in one platform, Hireology needed a new website to tell the story of their transition, with an extra emphasis on their product features. The goals Hireology set out to accomplish with a new website were five-fold:

Elevate the design and evolve the brand.
Build a more powerful lead generation tool with a clear strategic user journey.
Convey the right story, showcasing Hireology as an industry leader, with clarified, value-added key differentiators.
Create a website that represents Hireology well, and makes them proud.
Enable the website for future iterations or to quickly pivot to create the ultimate marketing tool.

### Therapeutic Associates: Website Redesign
Therapeutic Associates was looking to redesign and redevelop its website to achieve an engaging user experience that was both easy to navigate and educational.

### LivCor: Website Design & Development
A premier multi-family real estate company in the United States, LivCor needed a strategic web design agency to redesign their website that will allow for a better content management system to would be easier to use and help streamlined updates.

### Ajinomoto: Website, Portal, and Consolidation
“Eat Well, Live Well.” -Ajinomoto
For global company Ajinomoto Health & Nutrition North America (AHN), the best way to change the world is to harness the power of amino acids and create opportunities to improve the world through them. AHN, located in Eddyville, IA, is a leading health and food technology solution provider, contributing innovation to nine primary industries: biopharmaceutical, food & beverage, sports & wellness nutrition, food service, animal nutrition, nutraceuticals, specialty & personal care, regenerative medicine, and medical food.
As part of Ajinomoto, AHN has a pioneering spirit and is driven by contributing significant advances in nutrition and health to create a better life for everyone in the world. They started with the discovery of umami, which led to monosodium glutamate, the world’s first umami seasoning, and have been harnessing the power of amino acids to better the world ever since.
A Focus on ROI
Ajinomoto engaged Solid Digital to help with several pain points in their online presence:

lack of brand awareness,
isolated and inconsistent customer experience,
lack of digital lead generation funnel use,
low web traffic, poor keyword equity, and missing SEO best practices

AHN sought to digitally transform and unite their brands under one platform with an experience that showcased AHN as the leading food and health technology solution provider. Unifying the brands and engaging customers in a consistent way would require a total consolidation and content overhaul of AHN’s 26 websites. Additionally, a bespoke customer portal would improve ROI and guide the customer experience towards consistency.

Brandtrust seeks to fundamentally transform brands and businesses by pursuing a deep level of inquiry to unleash the hidden potential that is rooted in emotion and has a powerful impact on how consumers build relationships with brands.

Digital Foundation for Next Growth Phase
Among first brand-building pioneers to address the “say/do” gap and delve into social and behavioral sciences,  Brandtrust has evolved significantly over the past 20 years. Now that many other branding and market research firms have begun to make similar claims, messaging on the new website needed to definitively showcase Brandtrust’s thought leadership and the specific factors which set it apart. Key among them is the fact that Brandtrust conducts independent market research and pursues a distinctly consultative approach to taking brands and companies to the next level.

The ability to support different language functionality,

### Gerber Plumbing: New Branding, Web Design & Develo
Gerber Plumbing needed to develop a new branding that incorporated both Gerber and Danze, while enabling all audience types to easily navigate the site and find the information they needed.
Solid Foundation for a Stellar Future
Gerber Plumbing  is a nearly 90-year old plumbing products company whose reputation for manufacturing some of the highest performing, most reliable plumbing products on the market has earned it considerable clout and weight within the plumbing trade.
Following its acquisition of the decorative, consumer-focused product line of Danze Plumbing Fixtures, Gerber became positioned for a new growth trajectory.
For a stint, the company continued to manage the two brands under separate websites, and then reached out to Solid Digital for the design and development of a new, consolidated site. The new site needed to define and fuel the next era of growth for Gerber, as the company pursued a leap forward into the decorative, consumer-facing market while solidifying its commitment to wholesale distributors and the trade.

There is no substitute for the excellent working relationship that was led by an informed, engaged client with a collaborative energy that drove productivity throughout every phase of the process.

### Madden Communications: App Design
Madden Communications needed an updated user experience and new design for its merchandising web application that was intuitive and easy to use.
Inspire confidence and drive excitement
In our initial meetings with Madden Communications, we came to a consensus that their users had difficulty with order entry, and there were also opportunities to improve product discovery.
We had several interviews with stakeholders, and their IT team focused on catalog browsing and extra functionality. We knew that improving the look and feel will inspire confidence and drive excitement for the customer sales representatives, distributors, and decision-makers to use this tool.
Our discovery about the user’s journey informed our solution for improving the user experience:

Design a space for users to see their progress when pre-ordering
Introduce a way for users to set updates to the status of an order’s process
Simplify the process in the pre-ordering workflow
Create pathways for users to navigate contextually throughout the application
