Risely Digital first conducted an end-to-end technical audit of our e-commerce measurement setup. They reviewed Shopify integrations, web- and server-side Google Tag Manager, GA4 e-commerce tracking, Google Ads conversions, Meta Pixel and Conversions API, Snapchat tracking, cookie consent and Google Consent Mode.

Their work included live checkout testing, two real test purchases, browser-side and server-side event validation, and an order-by-order comparison with Shopify data.

The audit uncovered several important issues. GA4 was missing around 28% of paid revenue during the analyzed period, including our two largest orders. Meta reported about 58% more purchases than actually occurred because browser-side and server-side events weren't being correctly deduplicated. 

They also identified an additional GTM container hard-coded into the Shopify theme, duplicate page views, approximately 4,900 unnecessary waitlist events, fragmented data across multiple GA4 properties, and two Google Ads primary conversion actions recording the same purchases.

On Snapchat, one checkout event was being sent three times per order, while the consent audit showed that some tracking could begin before EU visitors responded to the cookie banner.

Following the audit, Risely Digital worked on consolidating and cleaning up the tracking architecture, improving GA4 ecommerce measurement, correcting Google Ads conversions, optimizing Meta Pixel and Conversions API deduplication, fixing Snapchat tracking and implementing Google Consent Mode. They then validated the setup through controlled purchases and comparisons with Shopify order data.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The audit gave us a clear, evidence-based understanding of why the numbers across Shopify, GA4, and the advertising platforms didn't match. 

Risely Digital identified missing revenue in GA4, overreported purchases in Meta, duplicate conversions in Google Ads, repeated checkout events in Snapchat, and several structural issues within our GTM and GA4 setup. These problems were difficult for us to diagnose internally because they spanned several connected platforms and involved both browser-side and server-side tracking. 

The project resulted in a cleaner, more consistent measurement architecture. We now have a stronger foundation for evaluating ecommerce performance and providing the advertising platforms with higher-quality conversion data.

As the implementation was only recently completed, it is too early to quantify its full impact on campaign performance, but we have significantly greater confidence in the structure and quality of our tracking.

Year-over-year performance delivered: Revenue growth of 87.65% ROAS increase of 42% Purchase growth of 19.6% Session growth of 7.44% Advertising spend increase of only 9.44% Additionally, organic performance improved substantially during the same period: Organic revenue growth of 74.32% Organic purchases growth of 14.34% Organic sessions growth of 18.57% One of the most valuable outcomes was that paid media growth supported overall demand generation rather than cannibalizing organic traffic. Revenue increased dramatically faster than both traffic and advertising spend, demonstrating significantly improved efficiency across the entire acquisition strategy.

 They set up full tracking of reservations (by implementing advanced tracking to connect Phobs booking data with Google Analytics and Google Ads) so we could clearly see which marketing activities resulted in actual bookings and revenue.
 They managed Google Ads campaigns, continuously optimized them based on real booking results, and provided regular, easy-to-understand reports that supported management decisions.
