Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the co-founder and CMO of Find My Crew, an Australian agriculture app connecting farmers and agricultural businesses with workers and contractors looking for job opportunities across Australia.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Ostride Labs?

We were two non-technical founders who wanted to launch an app on a fixed timeline but didn’t have an in-house product or engineering team. We needed one team to take the product from concept through design, build, testing, and store launch.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Ostride Labs has taken our product from concept through design, build, testing, and launch. The team has completed five weeks of discovery and product design, including product definition, UX/UI design, and an interactive prototype. Ostride Labs has then completed a 12-week cross-platform build for iOS and Android. A key design decision has been progressive role access. Users start as contractors and unlock farm-owner tools by adding an ABN and farm details, choosing which role to display. Business verification and phone validation have been built into onboarding.

Ostride Labs has completed a closed beta with Australian farmers and contractors, with refinements shipped before the public release. The team has launched the app on the App Store and Google Play. Ostride Labs has set up analytics at launch and continues to maintain and develop the app. The team has built the app in React Native with Firebase for real-time data and cloud functions on Google Cloud with third-party verification APIs.

How did you come to work with Ostride Labs?

We found Ostride Labs through an online search. We chose them over other options because they had high ratings, good value for cost, and company values aligned with ours.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with Ostride Labs in October 2025, and our engagement is ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Ostride Labs has taken our product from discovery to a live cross-platform build in 17 weeks, with the closed beta reached on schedule. Beta testers have rated the app highly on usability, and their feedback has driven refinements that have shipped before the public release. The app is live on the iOS App Store and Google Play, and we have 500+ registered users within four weeks of the public launch.

Since launching just seven weeks ago, Find My Crew has grown to over 600 registered users. We’re seeing users actively posting jobs, creating worker and contractor profiles, browsing opportunities, and connecting directly through the app. We’re continuing to collect engagement and retention data through Mixpanel to better understand repeat usage and user behavior over time.

Our Mixpanel reports have shown a consistent increase in returning users. During our first four weeks of tracking, next-day return has increased from 12% to 19%, while seven-day return has increased from 7% to 17%. Distinct listings viewed per day has also risen by 60%, and applications have been spread across 17 listings compared with nine in the earlier period. Each report since has continued to show growth in returning users and engagement across the app.

How did Ostride Labs perform from a project management standpoint?

Ostride Labs’ project management has been organized, transparent, and reliable throughout the entire build. Communication via virtual meetings, email, and messages has been consistent through Slack, weekly calls, and regular demos, so we always know where the project is and what the team is working on. Ostride Labs’ product manager has managed the backlog and priorities across six two-week sprints, which has made the process easy for us to follow.

Most importantly, Ostride Labs has delivered on what they’ve promised and met every deadline, including our closed beta at week 12 and public launch at week 17.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Ostride Labs’ careful and proficient product approach, commitment to building the product as if it were their own, transparency in pricing, and predictability have been impressive. The team has met every deadline.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, we’re really happy with the entire process and wouldn’t change anything about how the project has been handled.
