We are building an online marketplace and needed an agency to help with that.

How did you come to work with OpenSource Technologies?
We were on a community forum for one of the products that we're using in this online marketplace, and they were as well. We began talking with them and asking questions. After a few conversations, we decided they were a good fit.
OpenSource Technologies was the only agency we found that could demonstrate a real track record of execution with the product that we were looking at. They're very much part of our team now and have settled in very nicely.
Could you provide a sense of the size of this initiative in financial terms?
Our initiative is between $50,000 and $200,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
It's an ongoing engagement.

How did OpenSource Technologies perform from a project management standpoint?
They've been good. I meet with them every morning at 10:30 a.m. my time, to keep an eye on where they're going. There are no problems, and they deliver on time.
What distinguishes OpenSource Technologies from other providers?
One of the things I like about OpenSource Technologies is the quality of the project manager and lead person [Manish Mittal]. This is a proactive organization with quite a lot of depth. They've got a good eye for detail, and they're not frightened to tell me when I've got it wrong. We wouldn't still be working with OpenSource if we weren't happy. We have had a great relationship working with them and intend to continue to do so.

Communication could have been a bit better but, overall, we were happy.

Our client wanted to build a custom e-commerce platform to sell their product. We needed to customize the wording, check-out process, and several other things to fit their business needs. OpenSource Technologies helped us customize OpenCart.

They programmed for us with PHP, Joomla development, OpenCart development, and everything that's involved with the CMS [content management system]. They did quite a lot of custom coding.
How did you come to work with OpenSource Technologies?
We were looking for a company that could give us a hand. We found them through a peer who referred them to us. It was a great fit right away. Manish [CEO] and his team are easygoing, organized, and they gave me updates often.
Could you provide a sense of the size of this initiative in financial terms?
The project was between $18,000 to $20,000.

The project is completed.

Could you share any statistics or metrics from this engagement?
The customer and their client are happy. They've been using the system for about two and a half years. Even though there are other solutions out there, they've kept using it.
How did OpenSource Technologies perform from a project management standpoint?
OpenSource Technologies updated me often. During the whole project, they were really on top of the progress and in making sure I knew where we stood so I could communicate that to the client as well. I'm the middle man, so that level of communication is very important to me.
What distinguishes OpenSource Technologies from other providers?
OpenSource Technologies gave us a sense of security. I was able to meet them face to face because Manish [Founder] was here in the US. I don’t hear of third-party providers meeting their clients in the US, so that meant a lot to me. They really went the extra mile.
Is there anything OpenSource Technologies could have improved or done differently?
I wish I had the ability to work in my time zone. They only assigned people to my time zone when we were under heavy development, but later on, I had to wait a little longer to get a response because of the time difference. It worked out but it would have run smoother if we were working in the same time zone.
