The application was also required to handle Amazon's opaque throttling rules which complicated things. This latter issue is a limitation for many other commercial out of the box solutions, and the former issue is simply not offerred by many other such service providers. When issues came up, they were very prompt in responding, offering a direct line of communication, full transparency throughout, and a rapid response and even offerred temporary workarounds in the event of an urgent issue which needed proper investigation to resolve. I am unaware of the internal composition of The One Techologies team but at various stages I communicated with at least 3 people, 2 or which I was given direct communication lines with via Skype to facilitate quicker support and adjustments to the project as needed. **RESULTS & FEEDBACK** Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business? This project has had a massive impact on our business by completely taking out of our hands the processing of incoming orders into our internal legacy systems for further processing by our own staff. To become familiar enough working with Amazon's MWS API ourselves, or to continue to use hacky and limited legacy solutions would add a significant and ongoing workload and time drain which would take time away from the ability of our staff to focus on quality control, fast dispatch, and quality customer service, so the impact cannot be overstated. How was project management arranged and how effective was it? Project management was impressive from the beginning. I would provide a spec, they would review it, clarify the main points, begin work, update me, and deliver a result. Where the result was not as expected or unexpected extra issues occurred, they understood the problems perfectly, gave clear ETAs on resolution, and delivered these promptly and efficiently as well. In many cases the bottleneck in time from conceptualisation of the requirements to delivery was in fact my own ability to compile the necessary information and communicate with The One Technologies team rather than any slowness on their own end. Their ability to consistently deliver results, consistently respond promptly (even when certain team members have been unavailable, out of office, or on holiday, it is worth noting) - they will always find a way to make it work, and I have never felt that they did not understand what I was asking for or that they would not eventually be able to resolve a given issue - even when this issue was a persistent one with an unclear solution (such as those resulting from the unclear and opaque setup of Amazon's own call throttling rules, as well as a few other minor things which seem to be related to inconsistency in the way the API issues responses. The Amazon MWS API from my own understanding is not perfect but this was not a barrier to this company delivering the exact result we wanted. Are there any areas for improvement? Right now I am hard pressed to suggest any - if I was pressed I would suggest that a greater focus on GUI-mediated control of the application and a human-readable logging system might be a helpful addition as standard, but this is a very specific aspect which really relates only to the app at hand, so I cannot really fault them in not including this.
