At the beginning of the development project, we provided The One Technologies with specifications through user stories and UX screen designs. We provided a lot of information about the business application and rules. Then, They  developed the software using .NET, a Microsoft SQL database, and Blazor for the frontend.

They completed the assignment satisfactorily and is continuing on retainer for additional assistance. The product has been highly accepted by our clientele since its launch. Previously, all of our apps were created manually; now, 25% are done so via software.

We had regular meetings with The One Technology and frequent communication with him via Microsoft Teams. They were prompt in explaining the criteria to us in case there was any mistake or misunderstanding. They made function demonstrations available to us when we needed them. Following our specified criteria, their team worked in two- to three-week sprints.

The One Technologies had really good coding skills. Our sprint-based delivery plan included frequent software releases, and the product was well-written and refined over several revisions.

Honestly, we’ve had a great experience with them. Although they didn’t offer the cheapest services, we’ve been very happy with their results.

We did an extensive research to find a suitable partner for that service execution.  The One Technologies provided a detailed service execution outline, competitive rate, and excellent communication. Hence we started the partnership with them.

I’m a director at a company that provides software development solutions for various clients.

We hired them for help with software development.

What was the scope of their involvement?

The One Technologies is our outsourcing solution. We outsource development on skillsets for which we don’t have subcontractors. If there’s something we can’t do in-house, we approach them, and they pick up the project. They’ve used GitHub for some of the codes.

For example, we needed to build an iOS proof of concept with voice recognition. We reached out to our contact at The One Technologies, gave them the project synopsis, and they came back with a quick estimate, including lead time, effort, and costs. From there, they developed and delivered the proof of concept.

We mostly work with a project manager.

We found them on Upwork.

So far, we’ve spent at least £30,000–£40,000 (approximately $39,000–$52,000 USD).

We started working with them in 2015, and the engagement is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

The One Technologies is great — I have no complaints. They’ve been able to do everything I’ve asked of them and do it well. I always go back to them, and I’ll continue to do so for as long as it’s feasible for us.

How did The One Technologies perform from a project management standpoint?

They’re great at communicating and sticking to schedule and budget; they don’t mess around. We communicate through a mixture of emails and Zoom calls. I asked them not to use project management tools because we don’t have the capacity to deal with many platforms. Even though they have their procedures and principles, they’re flexible and adapt to our approach. Overall, I’ve never had any cause for concern with The One Technologies in any shape or form regarding project management. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

I’m impressed by how The One Technologies does everything I ask. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

Although everything has room for improvement, they always meet my needs, so I don’t have constructive feedback.

My advice is to work with The One Technologies — there’s nothing more to it than that!

They created a webservice with webhooks for us. This was built using ASP.NET

More than happy with the results, they were quick to solve any issues during the project when they came up and solve promptly. They have always been available for any follow up questions or issues and would be more than happy to use them again for future projects without any question. We were able to reuse the web service for other projects.

Much of our communication was over skype to manage the project and communicate updates, video calls were also used when needed. We discussed the project up front, then a quote was presented and once agreed we moved forward and I was given timescales that they stuck to and delivered the project

Their prompt response and willingness to solve problems impressed us.

Only if they could be in the UK to save the time difference for questions - But on the up side this also meant while I was sleeping work was being done ready for me when I got back to the office the next day

I’m a solutions architect who works with several companies. I was hiring the One Technologies for a personal project regarding a nonprofit organization.

I needed support migrating my website from .NET Core 2.0 to .NET Core 3.0. I gave clear guidance for what was needed and they provided web development services.

We began working together in November 2019, and I work with them on an as-needed basis.

They were patient in explaining their process to me. It was easy to see that the work was successful because they created a solution that was self-documenting and easy to use. 

How did the One Technologies perform from a project management standpoint?

They had a good turnaround time and delivered pieces of the project frequently, so I could see their progress. I mostly communicated with them via email and through the PeoplePerHour app. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their customer relationship was smooth, even though they were working on this project part-time. They also kept me informed about what they were doing. 

Are there any areas they could improve? 

It would’ve been useful if we had a Slack channel that we could’ve communicated over.

Make sure you define clearly what needs to be done and what the success criteria are. It’s also helpful to test that they have the skills to complete your project.

We manufacture a wide range of personalised goods as well as novelty gift items, operating across multiple online marketplaces as well as our own sites.

We use a range of internal software processing applications to improve order processing efficiency by facilitating the automatic retrieval of all relevant order data for insertion into our own internal database for processing and dispatch.

What were your goals for this project?

To interface with the Amazon Marketplace web services API and our own internal legacy systems to retrieve all relevant order data for incoming orders, in a specific data structure which would interface seamlessly with our legacy app and replace our own previous legacy application for performing this function was lacking in several key areas and did not make use of the MWS API and thus was highly vulnerable to unannounced updates from Amazon.which would change the layout of their web interface.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor?

I discovered them via PeoplePerHour and elected them based on their reviews and my initial communication with the company representatives.

Describe the project and the services they provided in detail.

They followed the brief perfectly, including the very bespoke data organisation required. We also needed the application to handle marking orders as dispatched on Amazon, correctly identify custom and non custom orders, operate across multiple Amazon locales (as Amazon organises orders separately for a given national domain, ie, .co.uk versus .com) as well as reprocess Amazon's custom JSON data into a single consolidated JSON object to be inserted and read by our own systems. The application was also required to handle Amazon's opaque throttling rules which complicated things. This latter issue is a limitation for many other commercial out of the box solutions, and the former issue is simply not offerred by many other such service providers. When issues came up, they were very prompt in responding, offering a direct line of communication, full transparency throughout, and a rapid response and even offerred temporary workarounds in the event of an urgent issue which needed proper investigation to resolve.

What was the team composition?

I am unaware of the internal composition of The One Techologies team but at various stages I communicated with at least 3 people, 2 or which I was given direct communication lines with via Skype to facilitate quicker support and adjustments to the project as needed.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

This project has had a massive impact on our business by completely taking out of our hands the processing of incoming orders into our internal legacy systems for further processing by our own staff. To become familiar enough working with Amazon's MWS API ourselves, or to continue to use hacky and limited legacy solutions would add a significant and ongoing workload and time drain which would take time away from the ability of our staff to focus on quality control, fast dispatch, and quality customer service, so the impact cannot be overstated.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

Project management was impressive from the beginning. I would provide a spec, they would review it, clarify the main points, begin work, update me, and deliver a result. Where the result was not as expected or unexpected extra issues occurred, they understood the problems perfectly, gave clear ETAs on resolution, and delivered these promptly and efficiently as well. In many cases the bottleneck in time from conceptualisation of the requirements to delivery was in fact my own ability to compile the necessary information and communicate with The One Technologies team rather than any slowness on their own end.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Their ability to consistently deliver results, consistently respond promptly (even when certain team members have been unavailable, out of office, or on holiday, it is worth noting) - they will always find a way to make it work, and I have never felt that they did not understand what I was asking for or that they would not eventually be able to resolve a given issue - even when this issue was a persistent one with an unclear solution (such as those resulting from the unclear and opaque setup of Amazon's own call throttling rules, as well as a few other minor things which seem to be related to inconsistency in the way the API issues responses. The Amazon MWS API from my own understanding is not perfect but this was not a barrier to this company delivering the exact result we wanted.

Are there any areas for improvement?

Right now I am hard pressed to suggest any - if I was pressed I would suggest that a greater focus on GUI-mediated control of the application and a human-readable logging system might be a helpful addition as standard, but this is a very specific aspect which really relates only to the app at hand, so I cannot really fault them in not including this. I will note that they did add a few extras not originally specced for when requested and initially as temporary workarounds for us to continue using the app for system-critical purposes while they worked on a more permanent solution - so it is very hard for me to criticise their work here in any way, as in actual fact this may be down to myself simply overlooking certain edge case scenarios that might have come up when writing the original specification document.

Our teams have also collaborated on work that involved US state government regulatory compliance and import/export classification using the US Commerce Control List.

For each project, The One Technologies will assign us a team of experts based on our chosen technology. At any time, I can request help for any other disciplines, and they usually source more resources the same day. 

The One Technologies has provided me with UI/UX designers, web designers, developers, network administrators. The team has expertise in every part of the development flow from concept to delivery.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

The One Technologies has been an essential part of our team for many years. They have delivered on our specifications within the budget and on time several times over. 

The success of our business has been largely dependent on our partnership with The One Technologies. I don't think we could have stayed as lean and competitive as we've been without them. I have enjoyed this partnership over the past several years. We plan to extend and grow our working relationship.

Project management has always been exceptional. We communicate daily about progress on the project using Google Hangouts and GitHub. 

I've used other vendors before, and have never found one as professional and proficient as The One Technologies. 

What did you find most impressive about this company?

The team's responsiveness is exceptional. I have never found the same level of skill at any other company. Equally impressive is their in-depth technical knowledge. There is no challenge that they cannot handle.

I've worked with The One Technologies for a long time and have total confidence in their abilities. I think that they are doing everything right. They thoughtfully keep their clients the foremost priority as they plan their growth.
