I am the CEO and director of Rod Edwards Photography and VR Tour Bus London. My company produce content for websites, advertsing and PR campaigns, publishing and design industries. We are based in UK but work worldwide and have been trading for over 25 years.

For what projects/services did your company hire Next Big Technology?

We wanted to develop a new Virtual Reality (VR) app for use with Google Cardboard and smartphones. The apps were required for both iOS and Android. We also required customisation of Wordpress template for the product website.

What were your goals for this project?

We wanted to generate global app downloads and develop the VR Tour Bus app for Google Cardboard VR viewer and retail in London.

After spending a considerable amount of time searching the web, we stumbled across NBT and several other agencies in UK and India. We received quotes from several other agencies and some agencies didn't even respond. App development can be very expensive, making a profit impossible for all but the biggest companies. Next Big Technology won the tender on quality of service, knowledge and price.

We first approached NBT (and other agencies) with a Virtual Reality (VR) idea and requested a quote. Having asked numerous questions, the project appeared possible for a reasonable price - so we progressed. We worked on the project in three stages and the project is now under constant improvement and maintenance.

What was the team composition?

We worked closely with Amit Shukla who is the director of NBT. He managed the whole project from start to finish. The NBT team of experts have knowledge in many specialist areas which is one great benefit to working with an agency rather than individuals.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The new VR Tour Bus app is out in January 2021 along with launch of new website www.vrtourbus.co.uk.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

It was very effective as i dealt directly with Amit who briefed his development team at NBT.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Efficiency, knowledge, courtesy, professionalism and cost.

Are there any areas for improvement?

None that I can think of. It's always good to visit and speak with the team in person, but in this day and age it's not necessary. Everything that was required could be achieved remotely.

NBT is easy to get a hold of and get prompt responses from. Work quality is excellent and the cost is very reasonable. Good communication too. We have been working with them for over 5 years now and feel very happy to have our Website in great hands!

We communicate on WhatsApp as needed. Their responses are prompt and work is done in a timely manner with updates as it gets done.

Excellent work at a reasonable cost

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

It would be great if they could start communicating using screen shares so it is easier to explain what changes are needed. Though they are extremely good at understanding verbal or written requests.

What were your goals for this project?

The primary objective was to provide a face-lift to the old website, enhance the UI with a modern theme and layout. Secondly, and more importantly, there was a dire need for an easy, simple and robust CMS through which, even the ones without technical knowledge, could still maintain the website.

Everything went great.

The project management could use some improvement. We took initiative to list out the action items, maintain a collaboration sheet, request for regular task updates over multiple channels etc.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Their technical skill and knowledge of Drupal set them apart.

Are there any areas for improvement?

The team can improve upon the web server related technicalities such as set-up of web servers, deployment of code, version control. They could also do with a QA team that tests and validates each deliverable

I selected them based on their relevant portfolio and skilled team. The communication is great and I am happy with the decision.

The team that worked on my project consisted of UX designer, visual designer and Magento developers. In the end a QA did the testing of the whole website.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

The process to sign up designers has been automated so I was able to get rid of a lot of manual work. The solution allowed me to focus more on marketing.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

Trello was used to keep a track of all the tasks and milestone. It was quite effective way to manage updates in my opinion.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Their skills are unmatched and they are very prompt in their communication.

Are there any areas for improvement?

I cannot point out any issue with the team. There are some problems like understanding requirements considering the task is done remotely but that cannot be avoided. The good thing is that the team was available to clarify and sort it out.

Contact was established via the Internet. After some discussions and test pages, we have decided for this company. Basically we liked 3 things:

1. the professional approach
2. the test pages
3. the fast implementation and communication skills

We found it unique with how much passion our requirements were implemented. In addition, the calm that was maintained (we are unfortunately not easy customers) testified to professionalism
