• Replace manual gate recording with something dependable. The register at the gate was filled by hand, and on a busy day entries were missed or written down wrong. The aim was a record that does not depend on who happens to be on duty.
• Get an honest trip count for every vehicle. Dispatch planning and billing both run off how many trips a tipper actually made, and that number was always open to argument. A system that counts on its own settles the question.

A camera setup at the mine entry and exit gate was the starting point. Mindrops built a vision model that classifies each vehicle crossing as loaded or unloaded, reads the registration number off the plate, and records the exact date and time of the movement.
On top of that sits a counter tracking how many times the same vehicle passes through in a day, which is what produces the trip count. Reporting screens were added so a day's movement can be pulled up by vehicle or by time window. Two rounds of revision went into detection accuracy after the first site trial.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Gate movements are now captured automatically for every vehicle that crosses, instead of being written into a register. Disputes over how many trips a vehicle made in a day have largely stopped, because each movement carries a plate number and a time stamp against it.
Reporting that used to be compiled at the end of the day is now available as the day runs. No formal measurement study was done, so the honest answer is that the gain sits in accuracy and time saved rather than a percentage anyone has calculated.

Communication ran mostly over calls and WhatsApp, with a written summary after anything significant changed. Their project lead tracked what was pending and did not need chasing for updates. One small thing worth noting is that early on there was no single shared tracker, so a couple of change requests ended up repeated across different conversations. That was fixed once a proper list was put in place, and it has been tidy since.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Willingness to sit at the gate and watch the system work in real conditions. The team came to site, saw how tippers actually approach the gate, how much dust hangs in the air and what a plate looks like after a run on a riverbed, then rebuilt parts of the detection around that instead of assuming lab conditions.

Are there any areas for improvement or something Mindrops could have done differently?

Night accuracy was a genuine problem in the first few weeks. Plate reads dropped once the light went, and it took a change in camera position plus additional lighting at the gate before results held up. Handover material for site supervisors was also thin at the start, so the people actually using the screens had to be walked through it more than once. Both were sorted, but more planning for the non-technical end would have saved time.

Nothing was copied from any template, everything was built fresh according to our business.

Website went live on time and now it is our main source for new enquiries. Since launch, many clients have checked our website first before calling us, which wasn't happening earlier at all.

Mostly we talked over calls and email, and they used to send screenshots as pages got ready. One small observation, in the starting two weeks there was some confusion on who will give what content, our side or theirs. After that it got sorted and process was smooth.

Content part for compliance and data privacy took two extra rounds since financial wording needs to be correct, cannot write anything casually there. If there was a proper checklist from day one for what content we need to give, it would have saved some time.

The core deliverable was a fully functional Android rider application built specifically around RocketZone's delivery workflow. The app includes secure rider login and authentication, real-time order assignment, live delivery status updates, integrated Google Maps navigation, a one-tap customer calling feature, COD collection tracking, delivery confirmation and proof collection, return and exchange pickup management, push notifications for new deliveries, and a rider activity log for performance monitoring. 

Beyond the app itself, Mindrops also handled the full requirement analysis and workflow planning at the start of the project, which helped avoid a lot of back and forth later in the build. The project ran from 5th January 2026 to 1st June 2026 and covered everything from initial planning through to deployment and support assistance.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The rider application is now live and being used by our delivery team across Delhi. Real-time order assignments have replaced the manual coordination process we were using before, which has reduced response time between order placement and rider pickup. 

Our operations team now has full visibility into delivery status at every stage without needing to call riders for updates. Return and exchange pickups are also being managed through the app, which was previously handled over WhatsApp and phone calls. The overall coordination between riders and management has improved noticeably since the app went live.

Project management was generally well handled. The team followed a structured process from the start, beginning with a detailed requirement discussion before moving into design and development. Feedback and change requests were addressed without major delays, and the team stayed communicative throughout most of the project. 

The delivery timeline from January to June was met without any significant slippage. Response time on queries was reasonable and we did not feel out of the loop at any point during the build.

What stood out was how well they understood the operational side of a delivery business before starting the build. A lot of development teams focus on the features list and miss the workflow logic behind it. 

Mindrops asked the right questions early on about how our riders actually function during a shift, which meant the app design made sense for real on-ground usage. The one-tap calling feature and the way order status updates were structured showed that someone on their team had genuinely thought about the rider experience and not just the admin view.
