Yulia (Lead Generation Manager) handles our weekly catch-ups; she oversees everything and ensures everything runs smoothly. We’ve also worked with Olena (Business Development Manager). We found LLC Luxinten on Google. From there, I reviewed their proposal and brought them on board.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

We’ve seen a significant improvement in our website’s stability. We’ve had a lot of downtimes and issues before. Since LLC Luxinten came on board, we’ve had an uptime of 99%. Our frontend has also been less buggy and works better, which has helped us convert sales. 

Overall, LLC Luxinten’s work has been incredible. They’ve fixed a lot of issues, and I have no complaints about that. 

How did LLC Luxinten perform from a project management standpoint?

LLC Luxinten has been highly punctual. They show flexibility when we approach large projects. For instance, if a project extends beyond the target, they’ve allowed us to use the budget for the upcoming months. A lot of other development companies don’t do that. Meanwhile, the LLC Luxinten team has been truly supportive. 

For communication, we have a dashboard and ticketing system. They also communicate with us via email. We have a Slack channel where I can contact them for emergencies. Our teams have monthly calls to catch up and discuss plans for the month and how we’re using the budget. 

Are there any employees from the service provider's team that you would like to give a shout-out to in this review?

Irene and the development team have been brilliant.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They’ve been so good that it’s hard to pick one distinctive quality that stands out. We’ve had such a positive experience with them that I’d recommend them to anyone. In fact, I’ve recommended them to some of my colleagues and other professionals. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, there aren’t any. We haven’t had any frustrating experiences with them.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Trust LLC Luxinten, and let them do their job. They’re great and efficient — the best thing to do is to give them the freedom to operate independently and report back to you. You can delegate or reprioritize when needed.

What was the scope of their involvement?

LLC Luxinten has helped us develop new software features for our Magento-based e-commerce platform. Initially, I provided them with a list of features that we needed, along with their use cases and specifications, and we worked together to scope them out. As for the technology stack, in addition to Magento, we've used AWS to build the backend infrastructure.

At any point in time, there have been about four teammates from LLC Luxinten working on the project. However, their team has been rotating throughout our engagement, which has been a challenge. Altogether, we've worked with 16–20 resources from LLX Luxinten on this project.

How did you come to work with LLC Luxinten?

I was looking for and calling potential partners on LinkedIn; that's were I found LLC Luxinten. Based on some of their past projects, I found out that they had expertise in handling Magento. After vetting them, we decided to hire them for this project.

We've spent around $140,000–$150,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

Our project started in December 2020, and the engagement is ongoing. We are currently focused on hardening the design issues and will launch our marketplace soon. We intend to engage with LLC Luxinten more for maintenance and support of our services and infrastructure, performance tuning, as well as driving marketing outreach through campaigns.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

LLC Luxinten's backend development is very strong. the backend features they've developed are pretty well done, so the quality of their delivery has been very good.

However, we've been struggling a little bit on the frontend, especially regarding the design aspect of it. We have an art marketplace, so design is extremely important for us. We've done a soft launch but pulled it back as we're trying to fix the designs. Still, we're planning to launch anytime soon.

How did LLC Luxinten perform from a project management standpoint?

We've had some challenges with project management as well; our expectations have slid for both budgets and deliverables. Initially, we scoped the project as a fixed project, and although we provided them with the requirements, there was not enough clarity about what the deliverables would be, when those assets would be delivered, and what the budget expectations were. As a startup founder, the rate has been a bit excessive for me, so we've had some challenges in that regard.

Are there any employees from the service provider's team that you would like to give a shout-out to in this review?

I've been very impressed with Irene (CCO & Co-Founder). I've found her to be trustworthy, inspirational, and visionary.

What did you find most impressive about them?

LLC Luxinten has expertise in Magento, and their backend development work is very good. Their code is clean, and their backend engineering work is very solid.

Are there any areas they could improve?

LLC Luxinten is a very good third-party development partner. If a project is well scoped out, they're very good at delivering it. However, one area in which they could improve is being a good business partner. As a founder, I have a lot of business use cases for my product, so it would be good if LLC Luxinten translated those use cases into technical requirements and worked as my technical partner. Still, there have been some gaps there.

Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?

I can strongly vouch for LLC Luxinten's technical expertise in Magento. Their QA team is very good as well. From the top down, the entire team is very professional, friendly, and responsive. Additionally, you may want to account for and anticipate delivery delays.

The focus of the website was to have multi views from different geo locations. This involved creating an ecommerce store which was only visible to select European countries. Another which was only accessible in North America, and a B2B site for the rest of the world where products could not be purchased. The product pages had the ability to display several formats of content such as 360 imagery, video, multi-image. 

Each store had separate stock management requirements and each store front//homepage required a different look. The site was also available in multiple languages and currencies. In addition to the site build continuing support was required for any site developments, security updates, ongoing management, and maintenance.

The company is very professional and always improving and progressing. The projects are managed in a timely and methodical way and are always realistic. More stable website with fewer downtimes. New features they added have ever let us down.

Describe their project management. Did they deliver items on time? How did they respond to your needs?

I almost exclusively have contact with our project manager, be it via video calls, emails or Slack. In the meantime we already have a good, confidential relationship. We meet twice a month to go over the project and determine priorities for the coming period, but I also often hear him via chat during the week. Luxinten is very flexible when I ask to shift priorities. 

On very urgent matters they will respond quickly, although in the early hours it can sometimes take a while for them to reply right away, but I never have to wait for hours. If we agree on a deadline, they will almost always meet it. Estimates for tasks are often exceeded, but within limits. The project manager has a lot of work to allocate tickets etc, so that takes up a significant part of the monthly budget.

LLC Luxinten was highly proactive and always takes initiative. If they see something is wrong, they will for sure notify us. When we propose improvements ourselves, they will always think along whether there are better alternatives, which we greatly appreciate. 

They give us the feeling of being an important customer and running our project with the utmost care. If they make an improvement, you can be sure that the quality is very good.

Are there any areas for improvement or something LLC Luxinten could have done differently?

Sometimes they are a little too enthusiastic to promote improvements when we already have a large ticket list. Estimates for tickets are sometimes not met, but remains within limits.They work with a quality checker, which means that even the smallest tasks take a little more time than sometimes necessary. 

The advantage of this of course is that the quality is always very good. I sometimes have my doubts about the knowledge of the English language of some of the developers, even though I have little or no contact with them.

Describe their project management. Did they deliver items on time? How did they respond to your needs?

The team of 3 (BE dev., FE dev., QA) managed by 1 PM. Our team communicates with the PM (via email, Slack, WhatsApp, and virtual calls). Every week on virtual call, we summarise project progress and plan priorities for the next week. But Luxinten is always happy to accommodate if our needs change and something new needs to be planned into an existing development cycle.

Project progress can be seen via JIRA where all projects and tasks are managed and communicated in detail. Most projects are delivered within the agreed time frame and budget, with occasional slight budget overspent or overtime. We can see that budget overspent is mostly due to Luxinten offering as close to reality as possible estimates, without adding excessive cushions to their estimates.

Later delivery than expected is in most cases caused by our own internal re-prioritization of the tasks. Naturally, there were a couple more projects which grew over budget and time expectations more than we enjoyed, often due to changed requirements or external conditions changing in the middle of the projects, and in some cases due to the project bringing unexpected issues which we had to deal with step by step to progress further.

In all those cases Luxinten was a good partner to have an honest conversation with, willing to admit their mistake if there was any (and learn from it). They come up with their own ideas of what we could improve as well as offering alternative ideas to our requests, when suitable. Generally, it feels they always care to meet our needs and have our best interest in mind.

I’m one of the directors at The French Bedroom Company, an online retailer of bedroom furniture, furnishings and lighting products.

What challenge were you trying to address with LLC Luxinten?

Our previous website was running on Magento 1, which had reached the end of its life, so we decided to rebuild our site and back up systems on Magento 2. We were looking for a company that is skilled and experienced in the Magento platform.

Our goal was to build a website that is fully transactional, integrable with different payment providers, and has a seamless checkout experience. We wanted to be able to display product categories in an attractive and innovative way so we can maximize conversion opportunities. We also wanted to easily make stock adjustments and allocation through the site.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

LLC Luxinten developed a Magento 2 website. They built 99% of what users would see and interact with on the site. They also worked on our backend systems, which they developed to support our order management system. They were tasked with testing the site and making sure that its entire technical build functioned as it should. We didn’t focus too much on the site’s alignment with our design, part of which was because we recently went through a small design refresh already.

The website went live in November 2020, but we’ve recently entered another 12-month contract with LLC Luxinten for ongoing maintenance and further development of the site as we’re still planning on adding new functionalities to it.

What is the team composition?

I primarily work and interact with their project manager, who is in charge of managing everything between our company and their internal resources. Their development team is composed of front- and backend developers, a few designers, and database experts.

How did you come to work with LLC Luxinten?

We talked to a lot of UK-based agencies when we were searching the market for Magento developers. It was quite hard for us to build a strong business case and profit sense for making the switch to Magento 2, but it was a business necessity. It was really important for us to try and keep our costs down, and we couldn’t find any UK agencies that fit our price ballpark. So, we decided to look at overseas developers that fit our requirements.

We looked at LLC Luxinten and understood that they had the right level of qualifications and experience that we wanted. We reached out to them, and they took the time to discuss the project with us and respond to our functional requirements document. We had a lot of back and forth, in which afterward they came up with a quote. We did our due diligence and they were ultimately selected as our new Magento development partner.

We started working together in September 2019, and the engagement is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We’ve won some awards for the site. In fact, we’ve recently been ranked as one of the top 20 UK e-commerce sites in terms of web technology. 

Another great impact of this engagement is that the products that LLC Luxinten has built for us have really held up well throughout the business challenges we’ve encountered during the pandemic. Thanks to their work, we’ve been able to scale the site and our business along with it.

Overall, we’re really pleased with the site that LLC Luxinten has built — it’s scalable, well-performing, and is able to handle anything that’s thrown at it. I think anyone who has a look at our website would come to the conclusion that it’s of great quality.

How did LLC Luxinten perform from a project management standpoint?

We use Jira as a task management tool. We use it to share notes and information and raise support tickets, which go immediately to LLC Luxinten’s project manager for assessment, prioritization, and then delegation to appropriate developers.

We mainly communicate through email and video conferencing. We use Google Hangouts to meet for our weekly project management calls, wherein they provide progress reports and discuss our priorities and next steps.

What did you find most impressive about them?

LLC Luxinten has capable developers who have done excellent work, and they’re especially good at testing. They’ve got great QA people — certainly much better than the other agencies we’ve worked with before. 

I was quite used to having work passed to me for review and I would spot a lot of bugs in it, but that has not been the case with LLC Luxinten. Their QA people tend to spot and fix bugs and issues before they deliver their work to me, so I’d say that they really do provide high-quality work.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I think that design is an area that LLC Luxinten doesn’t have much experience in. Sometimes, their developers would build something that is functionally correct but doesn’t look great. Throughout our engagement with them, there were times when we needed a lot of back and forth with their work in terms of design.

Another thing is that they take a lot longer than local firms to deliver projects. They’re cheaper, but at the same time less efficient in the way that they handle projects. Quite often they would provide time estimates for projects and then take longer than expected to finish. I’d say they need to work more on managing our expectations in terms of providing timelines and estimates.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

My advice for anyone who’s interested in hiring them is to bear in mind the ongoing time estimates for your project and allot more time than you’d expect. It’s also worth considering using an external design company to compensate for the fact that they don’t really have great in-house design strength.

I’m the managing director of  VivaMK Network Ltd, a wholesaler of fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG).

We needed to develop an e-commerce platform that allowed our vendors to have their individual, white-labeled websites so that they could feed into the backend of our site. We required this site to support around 1,000 affiliate websites.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Luxinten has helped us develop our entire e-commerce site on Magento 2, including the backend administrative side, which allows us to manage our accounts and affiliate websites. Initially, we had a project management meeting to define exactly what we wanted. They also sent a thorough questionnaire for us to fill out. After completing the questionnaire, we created a detailed project plan.

As part of this plan, Luxinten was also in charge of designing the site's frontend. On this stage, they gave us some design options to choose from, depending on which extension we were buying to plug into Magento 2.

Currently, Luxinten helps us with our ongoing needs. They’re in charge of managing our system and making changes according to the needs we discover along the way. Additionally, they help us develop the affiliate sites ongoingly. In addition to design and development, they’ve also offered us to handle our SEO, but our site doesn’t need comprehensive SEO work, so we don’t use them for that.

We’ve worked directly with a project manager from Luxinten, although this person has changed along the way, depending on the project’s stage. We’ve also communicated constantly with their CEO and a business development manager.

How did you come to work with LLC Luxinten?

Their CEO reached out to me on LinkedIn. Although hundreds of vendors usually contact us via Facebook and LinkedIn all the time, I paid particular attention to Luxinten because their wording seemed better than others. Moreover, they messaged me at the right time because I was already negotiating with three other companies to start this project. Out of the four vendors I ultimately dealt with, Luxinten came on top because they were more responsive and had a better understanding of the project.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent around $100,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

Our initial contact with Luxinten was in December 2019. However, as the COVID-19 pandemic started, we realized that we didn’t require the website to be completed as quickly as we thought. Thus, we took the project slowly and launched the site in April 2022. Still, our engagement is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

For years, our affiliates wanted a fully functional and fast platform. Since launching it, the feedback from those affiliates has been phenomenal because they now have what they want. Now, we rarely have negative feedback on our site, demonstrating that Luxinten developed its functionality to suit their needs.

As for specific metrics, we now have more people on board than we ever had. Although we can’t link that result directly to Luxinten, our affiliates have been using the site as a huge marketing tool to promote their businesses, resulting in a 10% increase in our recruiting numbers.

How did LLC Luxinten perform from a project management standpoint?

Luxinten is very clear about how many hours each project will take, and they provide us with the cost tied to those hours. Sometimes, those estimations go over, and others, they go under. However, whenever a project has overages, they let us know in advance.

Regarding time management, Luxinten has occasionally been ahead of schedule, but other times we’ve missed the deadlines. However, some projects have been challenging because we ask for things outside regular e-commerce development work.

Although we’ve had a few crashes related to server issues, Luxinten has dealt with those very quickly. Additionally, they quickly fix bugs whenever they find them. We communicate via Zoom and Microsoft Teams and manage the project on Jira.

What did you find most impressive about them?

We’ve worked with four e-commerce development companies in five years, and Luxinten’s understanding of the project has been far better than anyone else’s — that’s why we’ve kept working with them. The way they understand our needs, even though we don’t speak the technical language, is impressive. Thanks to this, they’ve been able to hit the nail on the head almost every time. We’ve still had some miscommunication issues, but those are normal between technical and non-technical speakers.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, not really. One of the most challenging parts of our engagement happened when the Russian Invasion of Ukraine started. Luxinten is a Ukrainian-based company, and they were completing the bulk of the development work right when the Russian Invasion started. This caused some project manager turnovers due to the circumstances. We know that external factors have caused these challenges, so if circumstances had been normal, we would have been assigned a consistent project management team.

Communication is key. If you want to avoid wasting time and money and be successful, have a crystal-clear idea of what you want.

I'm the E-Commerce Director of a lighting retailer. We sell light fittings, light bulbs, as well as lighting accessories, and home decor.

We have worked with different web developers in the past, but after researching online, we chose Luxinten based on past projects, costings and reviews from existing customer base.

As we are ongoing working with them, the main projects they have handed was the migration to Magento 2, including all estimations and steps that will be taken, timescales for each part, and design ideas that we were able to work on together. The team are ongoing in working on performance optimisation and UX for the site.

We have a project manager that runs both accounts as our main point of contact. We also have an account manager that oversees the project work and manager.

After the site re-launch, we have seen an increase in revenue and the site is easier to navigate.

What challenge were you trying to address with LLC Luxinten?

The initial purpose of the engagement was to migrate our website from WooCommerce to Magento.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

When we started with them, there was a long period where we explained how our entire business works, what our goals are, and what we want out of our new system. In each task or project that we give them, there is a discovery process to ensure they understand exactly what we require and how the product will work with our Magento system. They also advise us on where and how our requirements might not be possible within the structure of Magento.

There have been updates to the platform, and there are lots of conflicts that arise in the software with each update. It isn’t a straightforward process to do version updates. During the period since my last review, we’ve developed fraud management as well.

The work varies, and it is ongoing rather than having one specific project goal. LLC Luxinten has been doing ongoing work on our Magento platform since the initial engagement, creating new features that we want developed. This includes both front- and backend work. In terms of the backend, they’re implementing off-the-shelf extensions from other suppliers and developing customized features. On the frontend, there is a lot of menu, feature, and interactive functionality customization for the end-user.

Currently, we’re working on performance integration of other third-party extensions. Luxinten has been going through the entire website and improving page speed and scores on Lighthouse and Google PageSpeed Insights.

I work with an account manager, and the majority of my communication goes through him. Anything to do with the financial side goes through the CEO of the company.

How did you come to work with LLC Luxinten?

They were recommended to us by someone who’d worked with them previously. Speaking to them and understanding their knowledge of the software and their team makeup convinced us to go ahead with them.

We’ve spent over $100,000 with them now.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them in March 2018, and it is still ongoing. As the site is constantly being developed, we’ll continue to be work with them to add new features and functionalities.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

I don’t have actual statistics or metrics, but in terms of trends going forward, we’re measuring site performance. We have just started that work and it is definitely something we want to improve upon going forward.

Before we hired them, I was the main developer on the website, and my anecdotal feedback is very good. I’ve been able to completely hand off the work to them and let them take care of it for me. Once we’ve clarified the expectations and specifications of the project, I can trust them to get the work done in the way we want the vast majority of the time. They’ve taken a huge load off.

There will always be a certain number of bugs or issues, but they’re never so much that I’m shocked. It is all typical, understandable, and manageable.

How did LLC Luxinten perform from a project management standpoint?

In terms of timeframe and budget, it can vary. I think this is partially the nature of Magento in that you can get an initial estimate, but until the work actually starts, you don’t completely know how it will impact your system. That can cause tasks to take more time than estimated.

Generally, project management is pretty good. The only issue I have had is that the number of project managers has changed quite a lot in the time period. My recent project manager has been consistent for a while and hopefully, it was just a minor thing. In terms of the actual project management, I would say I am pretty happy with it. I have worked with other agencies in the past on other software where we have had to do a lot of the project management ourselves because we couldn’t rely on the other party. With Luxinten, it seems fine and I can rely on them to manage it.

They use Slack and Jira for project management. We use Slack for our informal daily communication, and Jira is used for task-specific communication and questions, and it has worked quite well.

What did you find most impressive about them?

We haven’t used other Magento providers, but compared to other general software providers, Luxinten is very well organized and structured regarding how they break down tasks, estimate processes, and how all the different individual tasks affect the project as a whole. Possessing the in-depth understanding of our business is highly useful compared to other agencies that don’t break down tasks into individual estimates. Instead of 10 separate tasks, they would put it down as one and it is difficult to understand what is needed and involved in it.

Are there any areas they could improve?

It’s always difficult to understand what issues stem from the platform itself and which parts stem from their side. Going back to the estimates for the work, I understand that you have to make an initial estimate and then revise it, but if it were possible, it would be good to have a complete understanding from the beginning. I feel like this is more a limitation of the platform rather than Luxinten’s ability.

Recently, scheduling has been a bit of an issue where I am not sure when exactly they will complete my work. This could be improved upon so that I could get a clearer indication of when they are planning finish the work.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

I think my main advice would be to have a lot of communication and clarify all expectations, especially around scheduling tasks for completion. As long as you can communicate clearly what you require, they’re generally good at delivering on that.

Most of the time when we use them we specific the work for them. I think you can work with them based on an audit they complete, but most of the time we give them the work.

It’s quite difficult to quantify the work that Luxinten does. The one thing I could share, though, is how they have significantly optimized the speed of our website and are still constantly improving it. Our customers have had a very positive shopping experience because of it. 

How did LLC Luxinten perform from a project management standpoint?

Luxinten reacts very quickly, especially when we face urgent issues. If our website is down, for example, it only takes around 15 minutes to get ahold of their project manager. They fix the problem right away and will even work on the weekends to set everything straight. 

They are usually on time and on budget as well. We use Jira for project management and communicate through Zoom, Messenger, and email.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I am most impressed by Luxinten’s attitude in general and their attitude towards their responsibilities. For instance, when we considered migrating from Magento 1 to Magento 2 and found that it would be a costly project, they helped us find a program that could finance our small business. They connected us with the right people who could walk us through the financing process. I really appreciate that they went far beyond just providing us with programming services even though they didn’t have to.

Are there any areas they could improve?

There were some aspects of the project that didn’t go as expected, but we discussed that with them and they were able to resolve it. In general, there is nothing for them to improve.
