What challenge were you trying to address with the vendor?

We wanted to find out if a platform of this magnitude would survive locally here in Malaysia.

What was the scope of their involvement? 

Lizard Global helped us with one of their digital workshops, in which they expanded and escalated thoughts into concrete ideas, which has resulted in a better overall view of the project from a business perspective.

What is the team composition? 

We worked together with a small group of experts: Simonas (PO), Crystal (UI/UX), Terence (CEO Asia), and Eric (UI/UX). Each of them had their own qualities and they were outstanding during the workshop hours.

I found Lizard Global on Google.

How much have you invested with them?

Around 45.000 MYR, or 10.700 USD.

What is the status of this engagement?

We finalized the workshop successfully with a lot of new ideas and perspectives.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The brief idea that we created by the end of the workshop. It was a fully developed idea that now can be pursued.

They were outstanding. The workshops were very organized and helped me scope the right direction for the business.

The communication between the team members and the overall planning and organization of the workshops were great.

(The Globiz mobile application allows users to design, customize and share their
 own digital business card with the world, and securely collect and store the business
 cards of others, all within one single application.)

What challenge were you trying to address with the vendor?

We’ve noticed an unsolved issue regarding the exchange of physical business cards.

The global COVID-19 pandemic canceled out real life network events all over the world, which caused the exchange of business cards to come to a halt. Besides that, physical business cards are likely to get lost or get scattered around after a while.

These issues are easily solved with a switch to digital business cards in one single application.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We came up with the idea of Globiz digital business cards and asked Lizard Global
 for help in the conceptualization and development of a mobile application. Lizard
 Global provided the following services in our partnership:

- Technical Business Research
 - UI/UX Design
 - Custom Software Development
 - Digital Marketing Strategy

What is the team composition?

We started our partnership with Lizard Global by an introductory meeting with
 Terence (Sales). We then got in touch with Simonas, the Product Owner of the
 Globiz Project.

Together with him, we discussed the possibilities and precise functionalities of the Globiz app. After that, YoYo helped us with the UI/UX design, and the development team picked up the technical part of the application. Markus and Lotte (Marketing) helped us with commercial aspects of Globiz and our partnership in general.

How did you come to work with the vendor?

We heard about Lizard Global’s experience with app development and got in touch
 with Terence, and had our first meeting back in September 2020. We flew over from
 Saba to Kuala Lumpur for lunch and to discuss our ideas.

After that, we started off the project with Product Owner Simonas and the rest of the team involved in the process.

How much have you invested with them?

We have been keeping in touch with Lizard Global via WhatsApp and frequent
 meetings over video calls. Luckily, we were able to pick up and continue our journey
 towards the creation of our app, even in times of a global pandemic, thanks to these
 frequent digital meetings with the PO.

What is the status of this engagement?

We’re planning to go live in February/March, and we’re in the process of creating an
 additional website for Globiz, next to the application.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We have frequent calls with the team to stay updated about the agile sprints for a
 continuous flow of transparency, which we really appreciate. The commercial team
 is creating a business case for our project, as well as an interview for the blog page.

How did the vendor perform from a project management standpoint?

Communication and transparency are key in our partnership. By keeping in touch
 often we can continuously add value to the project. Our digital consultancy sessions support this streamlining and feeling of transparency.

Lizard Global doesn’t just develop apps, but they go through the entire development process together to make sure we’re on the same page at all times.

What did you find most impressive about them?

We were impressed by the introduction to new technologies and guidance along the process towards a digital transformation of our business. Questions are always
 welcome, and Lizard Global is always ready to answer them and share their
 knowledge to provide clarity and transparency in the process of app development.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Everything went smoothly, especially in times of Covid-19 most of the times per
 video-call. The application became bigger than initially suggested, which is not a
 bad thing and is according to the agile ways of working.

It’s good to take this into consideration in an early stage. We are really happy with the result.

We asked 3 companies to come up with an offer. They had a good price and from the beginning they were very thinking along.

We designed the project and they were parallel developing it in a workflow. So we could see the progress and adjust the app where needed.

We had a project manager as well as they did have one. They were in charge of planning and quality.

The app was downloaded many times. Even though the marketing was not very good.

It was quit good. We worked with sprints. Every week we discussed the progression.

They did a great job by implementing a new technique. The most impressive is the combination of working here and in foreign countries.

I think they could be more clear about the SLA.

We are in the phase of completion on the Salesforce configuration. At this point, we can see clearer pictures of our clients, our goals and steps to take in order to reach company's vision and mission.

We have a weekly update meeting , whereby we will run through changes, progress and improvements that were done from previous weeks. There was open communication between our company and Terence to allow follow up and instant updates.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They are flexible, accommodating, and always aims to understand the core of our business. They are always finding solutions for the bigger goals not leaving out the tedious daily activities that would require record, tracking and updating.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Salesforce seemed to have handed everything over to Lizard Global, once we have signed the contract and there was no follow up from their end on client's progress or even just to check in.

Initially, we needed to design the digital product, develop the software, and launch it.

The goals for the project were to develop a job platform, that should be working across several locations. The platform would allow companies to add job openings, and talents to search & filter for job opportunities. As a company working with many startups/scale-ups and corporates, this would allow us to showcase the existing market opportunities for jobs in different regions and help our community to find each other using this platform.

Lizard Global designed, developed, and launched a new job platform in addition to our existing services. The project started with the initial meeting to understand our problem/solution, our goals & challenges within the project. Once we agreed on all deliverables and goals, the production started with sprints of 2 weeks each. After each sprint, we would discuss the development of the platform, add feedback & suggestions for the next sprint.

The size of the team was considerably large, consisting of a project manager, product owner, design team & team of developers. The size of the team was changing over time depending on what skills were needed to successfully complete the project.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

Once developed and launched, Talent Portal has had a significant positive reaction from our innovation community. Now, companies in our network can freely access a new job platform and find relevant talents, while talents can search for innovative job opportunities.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

Project management was great and smooth during the whole project timeline. Deadlines were met within the 2-week sprints, feedback incorporated in the following sprints. Even though the development team is in different time zone, however, product managers and product owners made everything work effortlessly. Tools used for the communication: Google Docs, Hangouts, Skype.

The ease of communication with the team, flexibility, and professional work environment. Relevant business suggestions and on-time delivery were impressive.

There is little or even nothing to improve as the service was delivered within the agreed timeline, the quality of the service is high, it was unquestionably easy to communicate with the team.

A first app concept was ready 6 months after the first brainstorming session. After further fine-tuning the app was ready for commercial launch after about 14 months. We are currently in the 3rd major version of the app and up and running in 2 countries.
