We build custom software for other companies as well as our own projects.

Sometimes we have a big load of work to do. When that happens, we rely on Kode Island to assist with software development.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

This vendor was recommended to me by a friend of mine.

We check in usually on a weekly bases to review the work, which is outlined on a project management / kanban tool, Jira. The work is primarily centered around updates to the backend or frontend systems, which run on Ruby Rails and Javascript/Next Js, respectively. Work/requirements are broken down into small pieces, and thus, deliverables are made incrementally, following Agile-like software principles.

I've worked with 3 software developers and 1 team lead.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

The main metrics for projects are owned by our clients. However, with Kode Island, we are able to fulfill more of our clients needs while still delivering good software.

We now communicate via Slack and use Jira to manage project tasks and expectations. When needed, we utilize Google Meet to hold meetings.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The willingness and eagerness of their team members to help us with the work we have. They also provide frequent updates, and are great at communicating when there are potential blocker or if assistance is needed.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Currently, we're satisfied. However, if there's a need to communicate any improvements in the future, I feel like they'll be receptive to the feedback.

I am the owner of a Marketing Agency and needed some help for a large scale project. I leaned on Kode Island to help hit a quick deadline and provide a website for my customer.

I had a kick off with the customer and gave Kode Island all of the details on the project. I communicated with Kode Island on what help I needed and we worked together to complete the project.

After launching the site a month early my customer is now starting to work on other goals for 2023. They are now showing it off to the large customer base they have.

We had DSU that were more on a weekly basis.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The speed to complete the projects was outstanding!

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

I would say they work better in email/text communication and not Video Call. Sometimes video call would be nice.
