Since taking them on as partners they helped lower our cpa. They helped us stay ranked on top of googles page in key times during the day and month. They continues to push our teams with goals and helped us reach those goals.

I probably would want more on the phone meetings. I like emails but getting on the phone and chatting is always nice.

We were having challenges scaling our marketing efforts, every time we tried to increase our ad spend, our CPA would jump and all of our metrics would go out of whack. This changed over the years. Originally it was either over the phone or a simple email of what happened the previous month and plans for the next month. Over time, it changed to a PowerPoint-style presentation with a more in-depth analysis of what happened and where we are going in the future.  The timelines were broken down by monthly and quarterly milestones.

They have a fun and positive attitude, while also working hard to deliver great results.  

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

One of the challenges we began experiencing issues implementing new landing pages, which was one area we could grow conversions. It felt like this was holding us back and at one point we kind of plateaued. 

I'm not sure if that is something on Klientboost or if that is just the business niche we are in. That is the only possible area I would've liked to have been addressed or improved on, pushing us past a plateau.

When we engaged with Klientboost it was our last try at making PPC work for our business, because no one else was able to to provide the transparency, communication and most importantly the profitability for our PPC marketing channels.

Being a Marketing & Branding manager myself, I immediately took notice of KlientBoost’s tasteful and well executed brand identity, I gave them a call and was quickly set up with Kyle, an experienced and expert account manager who quickly earned our trust by asking all the right questions and making all the right suggestions. The choice was clear.

KlientBoost carried out a discovery phase during which we had the opportunity to get to know one another, and shared all of our existing assets/workflows and data with them.

They analyzed our channel data, and audited our full funnel, at which point they made a determination that we needed improvements to the top of our funnel (landing pages) which i had personally designed and iterated upon; naturally I was skeptical but they backed up their opinions with real data and Tyler (the designer assigned to our account) quickly turned around a world class landing page, following our stringent brand guidelines. We liked it so much in fact, that we had no feedback for them, we approved it right away.

Then Kyle pointed out to us something that every agency before them had missed - a single setting in our facebook ads manager that was costing us 40% of our sales... they cleaned up house, optimized our targeting and went live with the ads.

Since engaging with KlientBoost, the channels they are responsible for have experienced a growth of over 100% in sales, they have cut our CPA in half. They also optimized our landing pages for lead gathering upon our request which has resulted in a much bigger audience for our email&sms marketing channels, driving a strong sales growth on those channels as well.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

This is where KlientBoost shined the most in my opinion. We went through 3 other agencies before landing at KlientBoost, and they were the only ones who were able to maintain precise communication, adherence to our brand guidelines and an accountable chain of custody as it pertains to action items on our account. They are very well organized and have at times outperformed our in house team in terms of speed of implementation and reliability.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Communication and Accountability. They go above and beyond to communicate all the critical information we need. they understood what it was that frustrated us with other agencies and they delivered exactly what we were looking for by being an honest and reliable partner.

Our goals for the project were to decrease our cost per acquiring a customer while being able to scale effectively. We also were looking to increase our course sales by having members and prospects purchase à la carte courses. We wanted to increase our return on ad spend for these paid courses.

In order to select the right vendor, we needed to be extremely careful because paid advertising is a critical part of our business. We searched for a team that would align with our goals while still innovating and bringing new strategies to our account.

We were very impressed with the audit that the KlientBoost team put together for us. The ideas they brought to our account were put to use quickly and we saw success. The team's vision aligned with ours and they understood our goals.

The team at KlientBoost help us in developing the overall strategy for our paid accounts. They are experts in optimizing and tweaking the paid advertising campaigns to be more efficient.

I would give them background on our campaign and what type of creative our brand needed to fit our style, and then their creative team would go to work and develop landing pages, ads, and then ultimately launch and optimize them.

We started with two members of their team managing our Google and Facebook account, plus a creative team that helps us with landing pages and ads. Another team member has joined to help us with improving our paid course sales, which we are seeing more success with.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Since working with KlientBoost, our cost per acquiring a customer has decreased every year while scaling our account. We have hit new record course sales this year. Paid advertising changes quickly, and the KlientBoost team has been able to make quick pivots so we are still finding success. With their attention and expertise, we were able to increase our total revenue for these channels.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

The KlientBoost team are fast to respond whenever we have questions or feedback. We meet every week to go over our account, and I find that they are very open to new ideas while being honest whenever they feel like a new campaign may not work. Most of our communication is now over Slack, and I find whenever I message them, I'm not worried about whether they will respond back or not. I know they are there and attentive to our campaigns.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

I was impressed with the knowledge they have in optimizing paid campaigns. It's clear that they are experts and have tried and tested many ways to get the best results. While they are experts, they are always learning too, which is super important in the ever changing landscape of paid advertising. They are always trying to make our account more efficient and drive even better results.

Are there any areas for improvement?

I was very satisfied with their work. At times, they may be quick to launch new campaigns or make edits, and it may be worthwhile for a double check on spelling to make sure there are no typos, but this quick, on your feet response is exactly what our company needs.

I had heard a lot about KlientBoost through their blog content which was always excellent. After scheduling a discovery call with their team, I thought they could definitely help with PPC and CRO.

The scope of work was primarily PPC management and Conversion Rate Optimization. We initially had a 3-month term which then went month to month. The key deliverables were increasing our ROAS and then increasing our budget. They spent time optimizing our account and creating experiments to find a winning strategy.

After finding a strategy that worked, we focussed on increasing our budget week by week. For CRO, they tested many landing page variations until we had statistical confidence. In addition, their team was always available to answer any questions I had about improving CRO elsewhere.

I worked with George and Lauren. George is a CRO designer and Laurent is an account manager.

It took a little longer than we planned but we improved our ROAS to a point where it's stable and increased our profitability on PPC. We also scaled our budget quite a bit during our time working together.

We used Asana for project management, Google data studio to track data (which was available for me to review anytime), and email for general communication. We also had weekly calls set up and their team usually replied in 1-2 business days to any questions I had.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They clearly are experts in PPC and they have a lot of experience. If Lauren wasn't sure about something or needed a second opinion, she would reach out to the rest of the team to get an answer. Since they've worked with so many clients across so many industries, it was clear they were applying best practices.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

I can't think of anything in particular that we could have done differently or improved. I believe Klientboost gave it their best.

We were able to increase the number of leads from 35 to 100+ and decrease the cost of conversion to half from $150 per lead to 75.

Everything was planned on papers even before we started the campaigns, we were mostly using google docs, skype for calls, and Unbounce for landing pages.

The most unique thing about them was the energy, their strategies which resulted in great results and commitment to client success.

They achieved their targets which were promised to us, it is just that the whole PPC thing didn't get us the ROI we were planning for initially. So we had to change our business direction and bring things inhouse to cut down on expenses.

I’m CMO of Roof Maxx, a disruptive cleantech startup. We have opened 600 locations in the first two years.

What challenge were you trying to address with KlientBoost?

Since we invented an industry, we were having a little bit of a challenge educating the market and getting those people to convert back to leads that we could then push out to our dealer installers across the country.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We have two sides to our business. We have a dealer-development side, so we’re bringing dealers in under a business opportunity. Then, we’re generating leads for our dealers. KlientBoost handles our Facebook Ads management. That has been our lowest hanging fruit; as a new business, there isn’t a lot of Google Search yet. KlientBoost is managing display ads for us.

KlientBoost is unique for an ad management company because they take a very scientific, CRO (conversion rate optimization)-based approach to generating results. They have in-house teams that do all kinds of stuff, including people who help with messaging, editing videos, or building out landing pages. 

What is the team composition?

We have an account manager and a designer. Those are the main people we work with, but I’d say we interact with five in total.

How did you come to work with KlientBoost?

Our SEO firm referred two companies to us. I was familiar with one of the companies and had already checked them off of our list just because of what they specialized in. We interviewed KlientBoost. Initially, it sounded too good to be true, so we went in another direction.

However, we didn’t get very good results, so we went back to KlientBoost in late May or early June. We wanted to give them a shot, and it’s been incredible. I see KlientBoost as a true under promise, over deliver, which doesn’t happen; it’s always the other way around.

How much have you invested with them?

At this point, we pay them about $8,000–$10,000 a month. Our spend is typically $80,000–$100,000 a month.

What is the status of this engagement?

Our work together began around May or June 2020, and it’s ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We doubled our lead volume right out of the gate, within about eight weeks. At the same time, our lead quality dramatically improved. We used to get 5–10% SQLs (sales-qualified leads), and now, it’s more like 25–30%. We’ve seen a huge, dramatic jump in the number of SQLs. Not only did the number of leads double, but the number of good leads also went up dramatically.

We’d worked with multiple other agencies, so we can definitely tell that these improvements are due to KlientBoost. I don’t have exact numbers, but our sales team literally cheers during our weekly calls.

How did KlientBoost perform from a project management standpoint?

They’re good. They use a tool called Asana, and it’s very transparent.

KlientBoost is very accountable, and they’re good communicators. They’re also very low BS, which is great. They don’t promise things and then not deliver. It’s pretty seamless and easy for me. They’re about as close to a ‘said it and forget it’ vendor as I’ve ever found in my career.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I can really sum them up in one story. After they’d been around for about a month, we got an email from Graham (Team Director), and he’s the head of the client happiness team. They have an internal team that checks in about every two weeks with me and asks for honest feedback on how they’re doing and what they could be doing better.

I let them know that our onboarding process was a bit overly technical and that we didn’t understand a few things. They were right on it and super proactive about solving those problems and working with our team to create a more seamless, simple collaboration. I’ve worked in marketing for more than 15 years, and I’ve worked with lots of vendors. In my experience, once the sale is done, everything goes downhill. Even with the good ones, things plateau and then go downhill. With KlientBoost, everything has gotten better post-sale. Their delivery is unbelievable. The companies that not only deliver what they say they’re going to but then way over-deliver are rare diamonds. Finding that with any vendor just doesn’t happen, so that’s what sets KlientBoost apart.

Normally, even decent-sized ad management firms just do ad management and nothing else. The nice thing about KlientBoost is that they’re a one-stop-shop. You can get nearly everything that you need as it relates to ad management, ad creation, copywriting, and design done by them. We have our own internal copywriters and designers, but they have seamlessly collaborated with our team.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Sometimes, they get a little too technical for us. We’re not technical people; we do have a CTO and tech department, but I’m not the most minutia-driven technician, as most CMOs aren’t. My background is entrepreneurial, and I’ve been a marketing strategist for a long time.

For somebody that isn’t technical, all of these technologies and integrations can be a little bit overwhelming. Not only did we have to pull resources from our company, but we really had to collaborate with their team. There was a week or two when things were a bit confusing. However, that happening a couple of times would be my only complaint. I’d say they are smarter than I am, and they did work with us to get through that. 

Any advice for potential customers?

First of all, I would hire them. They’re insanely good.

Secondly, clear and honest communication is important. I feel like a lot of companies don’t communicate well with their vendors; they don’t tell them what they really want or set proper expectations. That would be a big mistake with KlientBoost, because the more information you give them, the more they’re able to help drive toward your goals. They take a CRO approach, so the more data we’ve been able to provide them from our backend, the more KlientBoost has been able to optimize our ads and increase our performance.

I'm the head of marketing for a SaaS company providing customer feedback software to enterprise and mid-market businesses.

We were in a phase of rapid growth and needed more capacity in the marketing team but couldn't hire the right people to give us extra capacity internally. We were also heavily reliant on inbound leads from SEM campaigns, but without the bandwidth to properly manage these internally, we knew we were giving budget away.

How did you select KlientBoost and what were the deciding factors?

We had talked to a few local agencies, bit larger and smaller and had one trial project that never really got off the ground. Kientboost's experience in the SaaS industry, in particular made a big difference.

The other thing we got with Kientboost that we didn't with other agencies we talked to was a really fully rounded team.

Our primary need was around management of our ad campaigns, but to support that we also needed to increase the amount of new content assets, landing pages and ad creative we were producing, and KlientBoost gave us all the capacity and skill we needed to do that.

There was an initial piece of work to bring our existing campaigns up to speed and stand-up a few additional campaigns. We had a ton of really poor performing existing stuff that needed sifting through to optimise and improve.

We also wanted to diversify the channels we were using, and the CTAs we had to offer as we were pretty much solely reliant on AdWords pushing people to a free trial. In the first phase, KlientBoost helped us optimise our spend, and dramatically reduced the CPA on new free trial leads, largely just by cutting out poor performing keyword traffic.

In the second phase, we started bringing in content downloads as a call to action and extending into paid social to generate leads further up the funnel.

We then continued the relationship with KlientBoost to support our ongoing marketing efforts and moved into a weekly cadence of reviews and optimisation of existing campaigns along with at least one full new piece of content per quarter, and a new campaign each month.

We had three primary contacts who were involved in every meeting: an account manager, a designer and an assistant. We also had regular check-ins with the CEO or client services manager and quarterly account reviews.

Average CPA for a free trial registration went from about $70USD to $50. We were able to increase pre trial leads (content downloads) from almost nothing to about 300 per month at a much lower cost per lead than trials, which made our effective cost per trial across all paid channels about $40.

One of the things I liked the most about working with Klientboost, was the fact that they worked like they were part of our team (despite the fact that we were thousands of miles away). Regular meetings and constant contact inbetween times meant that we always felt like we knew what was going on.

As time went on, they got more familiar with our business and were able to act really efficiently without the need for a lot of oversight.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The range and quality of work that we were able to get out of them for a relatively low cost. I've had the experience with agencies before where you have a few skilled people at the top, but never really get access to them.

The difference with KlientBoost was that we had a really skilled team assigned to our account from the start. Also, at the same time, they were really enthusiastic and keen to try new things.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

The only thing I'd say is that over time, we got into a bit of a standard operations pattern where nothing was going badly wrong, and was ticking over as normal, but at the same time, there were probably opportunities to keep improving in some areas.

So maybe just applying some of that early account creative thinking to more of the ongoing work to find little extra wins. In general though, certainly don't feel like there was anything major that was missed.

I came across KlientBoost at the Unbounce CTA Conference in 2018. Johnathan Dane, the CEO, delivered an amazing presentation on SKAGs.

A few months later, after letting our previously ad manager go, I reached out to KB alongside a few other agencies. Johnathan personally walked me through their process and approach... it didn't take long to realize these guys would do great things with our PPC campaigns.

We met weekly to start, then scaled back our meetings to a bi-weekly cadence. Every two weeks, we'd talk about new tests to run, campaign optimizations to make, and new campaigns to test out.

They were continuously adding new geo-based campaigns as well. I'm a very hands on person, and I found that our meetings always went smooth and covered a lot in a short amount of time.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

What I loved most about working with the KB team was that, while you may have one account manager assigned to your account, you have a whole team of account managers sharing their successes and failures on a weekly basis.

Our account manager would share successes that his colleagues had on other accounts, and we would test implementing them on ours. It felt like we were getting a team of 10 account managers for the price of one.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Originally, there were a few discrepancies on the landing pages that didn't align with our offerings. They were quickly fixed. My only recommendation here would be to ensure that they've collected as much info from the client as possible before creating the content.
