I’m the head of IT service management at Klarsolar GmbH. We’re a full-service solar energy provider in Germany, offering photovoltaic systems and intelligent energy management to help households optimize energy use and achieve greater independence.

We needed to speed up our development and gain more flexibility regarding capacity.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Jappware supports us in developing a platform and getting rid of our technical debt. The team has helped us build a platform for field sales so our field sales employees can provide an offer to customers instantly.

The performance of the Jappware team has accelerated, and we’ve seen increased feature delivery and reduced bugs. For example, we’ve seen a 10% increase in features released per month.

I'm the CEO of Vestlane, an IT company that streamlines subscriptions and onboarding for private funds and asset maangers with automated KYC/AML and document generation. We enable fund managers and asset managers to raise capital and close funds faster and more efficiently across 100 jurisdictions.

Jappware stepped in with a highly reliable and deeply experienced engineering team that immediately made an impact. Our team from Jappware took charge across backend development, project management, and frontend work, seamlessly collaborating with our in-house engineers to maintain continuous delivery and achieve a much higher development velocity. Their contributions spanned across all essential components that elevated our product and accelerated our progress.

Jappware supercharged the IT company’s engineering capabilities, seamlessly integrating with the internal team. They delivered high-impact backend and frontend development, enhanced our frontend framework, built a powerful set of fintech modules, and crafted an intuitive workflow configurator — all while expertly driving project management.

Thanks to Jappware’s strong technical contribution and steady collaboration, we successfully completed a full system rewrite and continuously shipped new features and improvements using an agile approach. Even more importantly, our end clients noticed — and appreciated — the enhanced capabilities and smoother experience delivered by the revamped system.

Jappware kept everything running smoothly through consistent, clear communication across virtual meetings, email, and messaging channels. Their structured yet flexible approach made coordination effortless.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Jappware truly stood out. Despite being an external partner, they operated like trusted colleagues right next door, professional, thoughtful, and deeply collaborative. The team demonstrated sharp critical thinking and genuine kindness throughout the engagement. Their level of commitment was remarkable, especially given the severe challenge of living and working in a country at war.

Are there any areas they could improve?

If anything, we would have welcomed even more proactive pushback when requirements from our business team lacked clarity. A bit more assertiveness in those moments could have made the process even smoother, but this is just the cherry-cherry on the cake. We thank Jappware and their whole team a ton for what they've brought to the table!

We hired Jappware for their IT services.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Jappware is providing us with web-based platform development services. The platform will help run know-your-customer (KYC) checks of investors on private equity funds — the software generates documents based on user inputs. It will help other regulated entities that need to run KYC and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) checks. 

Jappware handles all of the back- and frontend system development but isn't designing the new platform. The current platform uses Python and Angular, but Jappware is developing the new backend in Java Spring Boot and the frontend in Angular. They're developing smart flow and form builders that will help create documents. Once development is complete, Jappware will take over platform maintenance. 

What is the team composition?

We work with about six teammates from Jappware, including a QA teammate and senior, mid-level, and junior back- and frontend developers. 

How did you come to work with Jappware?

We found Jappware through an acquaintance who was working with them on another project. 

How much have you invested with them?

We've invested around €60,000 (approximately $64,000 USD) with Jappware. 

What is the status of this engagement?

Our engagement with Jappware began in January 2022, and it's ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Jappware is still working on the project, and so far, we're really satisfied with their work. They think critically and question the project specifications and requirements to ensure their deliverables match our overall project goals. Jappware has exceeded my expectations — I'm 100% satisfied with their work so far. 

How did Jappware perform from a project management standpoint?

Jappware stays within our budget and timeline. We primarily communicate through Trello, a shared Slack channel, and Jira. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Jappware is an exceptional external service provider because they dedicate specific teammates to our project — the developers we're working with aren't working on three other projects, just ours. This allows their developers to concentrate on our needs and understand exactly what they need to build. In comparison to other vendors, Jappware communicates well and acts as part of our in-house team. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

I have nothing specific for Jappware to improve. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

I'd advise customers to ensure that the developer they're working with from Jappware is only working on their project. Other than that, I'd advise customers to thoroughly onboard Jappware's teammates and lay out their project goals.
