What challenge were you trying to address with Invid?

We engaged Invid to develop the frontend of a web portal that allows medical providers to order and send lab test results to patients through a project funded by the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention in Puerto Rico.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Invid designed the frontend of our web-based platform, using Angular 5, HTML, CSS, and Bootstrap. They also collaborated with our partners in Puerto Rico as needed, working around the backend built on Microsoft SQL.

What is the team composition?

We worked with 2–3 developers on their team, generally communicating with them on a bi-weekly basis through phone.

How did you come to work with Invid?

Someone recommended Invid to one of my colleagues, so we interviewed them and liked the proposal they presented the most compared to others we considered. They were not only genuinely interested in a partnership with us, but also willing to help us on-site in Puerto Rico and work with our tight schedule and budget.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Invid's frontend development work was instrumental in the outcome of our entire platform. Despite the challenges brought on by the recently devastating hurricane in Puerto Rico, Invid was able to wrap up their work very well.

How did Invid perform from a project management standpoint?

Their team was very communicative and responsive to our needs throughout the engagement. We held bi-weekly calls with them to go over any updates and they were very quick to respond to us whenever we had any questions.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They were very receptive to our feedback and eager to work with us throughout the process. They were also proactive about communicating and working around our schedules.

I am the Mortgage System Administrator Supervisor at FirstBank PR, which is the second-most prominent bank in Puerto Rico for retail and mortgage transactions.

We believed that our customer information was decentralized, which produced a troublesome follow-up trend.

What were your goals for this project?

We hired INVID to create a controlled database of prospective customer transactions received through our call center and loan officer contracts channels.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor?

After analyzing three company presentations, we selected INVID because they presented the most thorough strategy to fulfill our needs. Further, INVID provided ideas not originally considered, which helped us integrate additional information from clients for a better analysis during the evaluation of the mortgage transaction.

Can you go into detail about the services they provided and the scope of the project?

INVID designed, developed, configured, and launched our lead solution. We established weekly meetings to report on progress and identify areas for improvement. We drafted a service contract that detailed the support guidelines and protocol for handling later versions.

The project team was composed of seven people, including one project manager per side.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

Since our product’s launch, the sales department has managed to control the information of prospective customers and has increased sales by 30% because of effective management and monitoring.

Our teams worked well together and launched the project on time thanks to the capable oversight by each project manager. Any delays or errors were addressed quickly, and all corrections were integrated into the next version.

We use resources from their team on multiple projects at a time. I’m currently working with a total of 10–12 developers, but that number changes based on the workload.

I recommended INVID, LLC to the rest of my company because I knew them personally and I was familiar with their work. We assigned them a trial project and we were pleased with the results. Since then, we’ve developed a very successful and lasting partnership.

I’m the general manager at a digital communications agency. What was the scope of their involvement?

We have worked with them on several projects. They have been our technology partner for some of the most complex projects we´ve had. We specialize in UX, and we advise companies on that, but when we approach these projects, we often come up with recommendations that are technologically complex, so we work with INVID for advice. They are deeply specialized in technologies like SharePoint and WordPress, so when we have projects that involve working with these technologies, we contact them. They also collaborate with us when we test projects.

They have an internal team, but we manage the projects directly with one or two project managers.

I got to know them through Microsoft. We were working on a project that required the use of SharePoint with especially high-security levels. Microsoft directly recommended INVID to work with us on this project.

The last project we had with them was about 10 months ago.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We’ve had positive results from our collaboration with them. They executed all of the projects extremely well and the clients have been satisfied. We’ve barely had any calls from our clients about errors or bugs, which is important to us. This affirms to us that we are providing long-lasting, high-quality products.

How did INVID, LLC perform from a project management standpoint?

They use a project management tool to collaborate with our project managers. When we work with them, we know that we can sleep soundly. We know that when we commit to a date, their professionalism and communication level ensures that they will deliver, and if they can’t meet the deadline, we will know about it in advance and know the reasons why.

What did you find most impressive about them?

There are two things I found especially valuable when working with them. One is that they improve ideas with their technology; they always find ways to make things work. The other is that they are open and honest. We can sit, talk, and solve any conflict that may arise, and that is especially valuable to me. They are a reliable partner that we can trust.

No. I know no one is perfect, but I am very satisfied with their work right now.

I’m the finances coordinator at Puerto Rico’s Children’s Hospital. I manage the billing of services to the government’s health and education departments.

They helped us develop a billing platform that creates invoices for the therapies we provide. There are around 2,000 monthly therapies in the education department alone. They helped us develop a program that stored data and generated reports, streamlining the billing process and improving quality control.

At one time, we had three developers. After an update, just two of them worked on the project.

I wasn't directly involved with that, but I know they were recommended to us.

We started working with them about 10 years ago and had an update around five years ago.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

For us, the main impact was the time saved. We used to do everything manually. By creating reports with this platform, we saved a lot of time. It also had an economic impact, since we can bill more efficiently.

The platform also improved our quality control a lot by always alerting us to mistakes. If we schedule two therapies at the same time, it lets us know.

How did Invid perform from a project management standpoint?

Their communication was great. Their team was always available, and their president was always accessible to address our doubts about any situation.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I was most impressed by their constant communication, their availability, and their flexibility. They were always open and willing to help.

I’m the president of a construction company called DDD Group LLC. We’re a design-build-maintain company located in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

What challenge were you trying to address with INVID?

Being a design-build construction company, we had hundreds of thousands of documents for all of our projects but lacked a central platform to keep track of them. As such, we approached INVID to help us with our document management and collaboration infrastructure.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

After an initial consultation, they implemented a SharePoint collaboration portal that allowed us to access all of our project information. They used Citrix to publish the platform, which could interact with our other construction applications. This included an internal LAMP framework that handled our HR needs, Oracle Primavera for document management, and Sage for accounting and estimation. They completed the project in several stages and currently provide ongoing development.

What is the team composition?

We work with three team members.

How did you come to work with INVID?

We chose them because they understood what we were trying to achieve and knew the platform. Compared with other consultants, they were a great fit; we collaborated well with them, and they were able to take our needs and translate them into strong solutions.

How much have you invested with them?

The first consultation alone cost $10,000, which excludes the platform and software price.

What is the status of this engagement?

Their work began in 2008 and is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Instead of having people save their information to their individual PCs or in different folders on a server, they’ve provided us with centralized access to all of our information. The platform is searchable and facilitates collaboration, which is a game changer. As time passes, we’re able to adjust their services to our needs.

How did INVID perform from a project management standpoint?

Being project managers ourselves, we appreciate their approach. They use a critical path schedule and Microsoft Project to manage the engagement. Initially, we have a kick-off meeting to establish deadlines and define the scope of work. If there are any changes, they’re quick to communicate them and proactively look for ways to compensate for unforeseen delays.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their team members have good people skills coupled with strong technical ability. This is essential in cultivating a healthy client-vendor relationship. They’re easy to talk to, and it’s been a pleasure to work with them.

Are there any areas they could improve?

It may be beneficial if they provided more day-to-day support for smaller tasks. For example, they could sell support packages with a limited number of visits per year or certain basic services to ensure that the client’s systems are up-to-date. This would help their customers while also being a continuous revenue stream.

I am the executive director of a nonprofit that provides educational programs for entrepreneurs in different stages. Aside from startups, we serve established enterprises that want to change their business model to scale and grow.

As our operation continued to grow, we needed to find better ways to communicate internally. During a conversation with the CEO of INVID, we realized that we already had the communication tools but didn’t know how to use them fully.

INVID helped us optimize the tools inside Microsoft 365 Swift, focusing on SharePoint as well as complementary solutions and cloud functionalities.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

I think it is still too soon to evaluate the quantitative results. However, INVID’s work has improved our communication as a team, allowing us to be more agile in sharing information internally and externally.

Everything went well. They met all the deadlines we had established. We communicated mainly through email.

The best part about working with INVID was their ability to customize tools to meet our exact needs.

I’m the owner and president of Artegráfiko. We do graphic design, primarily for the conceptualization and development of museums. We’ve created more than 10 exhibition galleries in Puerto Rico.

What challenge were you trying to address with INVID LLC?

In the last museum we worked at, we added technology. We needed a technical partner.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

They helped us create platforms to work with at the museum. At the museum, there are 5–6 platforms to manage games, tactile screens, search monitors, etc. The main development was a tablet programmed with image recognition software. It is a music museum so we conceptualized this tablet that allows the visitors to have an interactive experience and to listen to music using headphones while visiting the exhibitions. They used Windows and the programming was all from scratch.

What is the team composition?

There were about five developers.

How did you come to work with INVID LLC?

They were recommended to us by Microsoft Puerto Rico.

How much have you invested in them?

We spent around $200,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

They delivered the final results around May or June of last year. The project lasted about a year and a half.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The result was what we expected, and even more than that. It was a lot easier than we thought and the final result was completely accurate to what we initially conceptualized.

How did INVID LLC perform from a project management standpoint?

We communicated through emails and had personal meetings. They were always checking in to see if we needed anything.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The service was excellent. They are very clear. They have great communication skills. The project was delivered on time and met all our expectations.

I’m the director of education and corporate social responsibility for Microsoft Caribbean.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with INVID, LLC?

Our main education client, which is Puerto Rico’s Department of Education, needed to administer an assessment of the students. Every year in May, the department runs a national test called Meta PR to measure how the students are doing in academic achievement. The new administration decided to develop a benchmark test to occur in February. This test assesses the students before the national test to allow the teachers time to take corrective action by working on the areas that need improvement in order to improve the national test results.

We sold the department the vision to do this test online for many reasons: to comport with the needs and habits of this new generation, to make it a more dynamic experience, to reduce the costs of logistics and printing, and finally, to have the results available faster to allow enough time to apply the corrective measures before the national test in May. Based on that vision, we hired INVID as our partner to develop this digital assessment platform.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

INVID was hired to build the platform for the online test and ensure that it could provide results in real time. It was developed completely on Microsoft Azure, which is our cloud platform. That was fundamental for us because the Department of Education already worked with Azure. It is a web application, integrated with Office 365, which is also used by the department. On Azure, it is also integrated with cognitive services, SQL Azure database, App Services, Azure Storage, Traffic Manager, Power BI for reporting and analytics, and Azure AD Premium, and Office 365.

What is the team composition?

I worked directly with their founder and a team of about 5–6 people.

How did you come to work with INVID, LLC?

We have been working with them for years. The president of INVID was an intern at Microsoft in Puerto Rico. His development expertise is exactly what we needed to create a new platform. We needed the platform to be completely customized and based on our client’s specific needs, and INVID’s specialty is custom development. We are familiar with their teamwork, and we know how professional and committed they are. From previous experience, we know they have a deep knowledge of our platforms and the skills and agility to do the work.

We invested about $25,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked with them from January–March 2018.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The impact of this platform surpassed the monetary investment. The platform had no downtime, no bugs, and nothing to be corrected. It worked perfectly in all schools and was completely stable.

The fact that it was integrated with Office 365 was really powerful for us. It also helped us to achieve a goal we hadn’t been able to reach, which was activation of the Office 365 accounts for 17,000 students.

The test was available anywhere, anytime. Since it was a web form on Azure, even if we lost internet connection, the student could continue the test once we were back online.

They developed this in less than a week as the Department of Education required the test before they had initially indicated, and INVID adjusted for this. They placed a bigger team on the project and worked on weekends to have the project ready by this new deadline.

How did INVID perform from a project management standpoint?

Since the beginning of the project, they made sure they understood the project perfectly and made suggestions to improve our ideas. The communication was excellent in all media: calls, Skype, in office, WhatsApp, and text messages. We used an agile method. They checked in frequently to make sure everything was going well.

What did you find most impressive about them?

It was great how they understood the client’s needs in record time. Even though they’re not experts on education, they developed a product that exceeded the client’s needs. That was the key.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No. It was a difficult, almost impossible task, and they kept up with all the challenges and created a quality product. I am very thankful and happy with their work.

I work at a financial company, specifically the Savings and Loans Popular Association (APAP). I’m in charge of the processes and quality area, where I basically take care of the documentation and improve how our company works.

We wanted to create a dashboard and a reference library, review and approve documents digitally, and publish those documents once approved.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

INVID divided the project into two phases and developed a website for document management. I don’t have the technical knowledge to provide more information.

What is the team composition?

There were four developers and a project manager assigned.

How did you come to work with INVID, LLC?

They already were one of our suppliers and had previously developed our intranet and SharePoint platform. I thought they were the best option for this project because did a very good job with the intranet, plus they already had all the knowledge required for the work. It was clearly going to be more efficient to just go with them again.

How much have you invested in them?

For the two phases, we spent around $28,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them in October 2016. The second phase of the project was concluded last year around March and we’re evaluating whether to begin a third one.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

They helped us completely automate our process for document management, which used to be manual and very inefficient. Additionally, the dashboard they created provides accurate information from our documents and library, which has been very important for us.

How did INVID, LLC perform from a project management standpoint?

We communicated through email, WhatsApp, and phone calls. We also had a collaboration space in SharePoint where we shared all the relevant documentation for the project.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I really liked their attention to detail. We never had any delays and communicating with them was seamless. It was a very good experience.

Are there any areas they could improve?

For the second phase, there was some staff rotation which complicated things a little bit. It was a drawback for us, however, the new developers learned quickly and delivered on time.
