After browsing around for many companies, i settled with SocialSEO thinking they would work well for my small business.

Our work began with an onboarding call, mapping of keywords, discussion on goals, and how many clients I'd like to book per month. All the accounts were set up, google my business, google search consol, all the aspects to begin working on my site.

Only my account manager, who I met with regularly, but supposedly there was a team of people working in the background as well.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

Since hiring social SEO I did see an increase in rankings for many keywords, but not the ones I was really hoping for. I think a big failure to our two years of time had to do with the weakness of keyword mapping and choices. None of the specific traffic-generating keywords that my competitors were using were the ones we chose to target. Many of the H1s and Title tags chosen were weak and generic keywords that weren't localized nor generated quality leads. I did make a few mistakes like accidentally duplicating content on my pages.

Which unfortunately took months for them to catch on their end. When bringing this up, their excuse was they had to do investigative work on my site to see what was duplicated or not. Which takes away from the work they could be doing to improve my site. What I never understood is that they have tools that can easily and very quickly call my site and find any issues such as duplicate content with the touch of a button. So it shouldn't of taken so long for them to find it, nor should it detract from the work they could be doing on my site.

Unfortunately, also, my case manager would frequently mention that my bronze-level package prevented him from doing more extensive work. Which I understood. He did tell me he tried his best to do things to help my ranking, which was outside of what they normally are supposed to do for my account, which was a much-appreciated gesture. Although it all fell flat in the end, as I'm still generating hardly any traffic and no business. Meanwhile, my competitors are blossoming and generating tons of traffic.

Mistakes were made on both parts but after 2 years and $25,000 of cash spent, I feel robbed of my time and money. I truly wished they never would've taken me as a client if they weren't going to generate traffic that would help sustain and grow my business. 24 months are plenty of time to make mistakes and correct them. Throughout this entire time, I have felt like a small business that the big company didn't care about helping. If your monthly budget isn't around 2k plus then stay away.

My account manager Matt was very communicative and friendly. Over the two years of speaking nearly every week, he did a great job of being thorough and clear. He always answered my questions and did a good job of explaining everything.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

My case manager was very communicative and friendly. I really appreciated the data and updates that constantly hit my email.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

I wish they were much better at keyword analysis. If you don't get this right you'll spend way too much effort on keywords that don't generate clients and traffic. They also don't build backlinks hardly at all. Over the span of two years they didn't have the time or ability within my package to build quality backlinks besides the ones from my own blog. I think this also held us back big time. As a result my domain authority could be much higher and I could increase in rankings. I would also suggest weekly crawls to look for duplicate content or any other issues that might arise.

As an SEO company they work with websites that are constantly updated. So investigative work to make sure no changes are hurting the SEO momentum should be the norm. not sure how they are not. Many h1s and title tags are filled with choices like "exquisite Los Angeles Photography" which no one is searching for. Usuing words like this in the h1 and h2s feel like a missed opportunity for strong keywords that generate traffic. I may be wrong but I'm no expert.

We were pretty unaware of how important SEO was to our site when the owner of SocialSEO came to us and explained the importance of SEO for a small business like ours. We bought in to what he was explaining (thankfully!) and hired SocialSEO quickly after, and it has made a HUGE difference in our marketing campaigns.

SocialSEO laid out a plan and goals with us that involved creating more content for our new site after we had a basic site for many years with keywords but lacking context and without much relevance. SocialSEO helped us to create content that would drive relevant customers to our site and they continue to work each day on our incredibly long negative keyword list to decrease irrelevant clicks to our site.

They have helped important and now frequent customers find our site and we have found that we have received more and better customers through our website than participating in expensive trade shows.

We work ongoing with two people from SocialSEO's team - an SEM and email specialist and a Social Media Specialist/SEO Analyst.

We have maintained the dominant ad placements overall is Ceramics Campaigns compared to our competition and we have noticed a huge change in the email RFQs that we receive. Before we began working with SocialSEO, it was rare for us to get an RFQ that actually pertained to what we do, which is precision ceramic machining for aerospace, medical and nuclear energy industries.

We would receive so many RFQs from people who thought we made ceramic pottery, and, now, most of our RFQs are relevant and have become returning customers.

They have been great about communicating with us and meeting all deadlines. We have a set monthly call that helps us to all remain on the same page, but they are also available anytime we would like to discuss certain aspects of our site and implement changes quickly.

I find it very impressive with how much work they put into each campaign. We have a very niche business, and it is clear that the people we work with from SocialSEO research constantly about our industry and our competitors. They have made that clear in the content that they help us to write and the impressive list of negative keywords they are constantly working on.

Since our project was very technical (content), we started with briefing them on the science. From that, we developed keywords/phrases that we wanted to leverage. The SocialSEO team also worked with us on competitor analysis to help us with benchmarks and keyword refinement. From there, they worked with us on: 1) addressing technical SEO issues, 2) developing content strategy for the site 3) developing content and creative strategy for PPC campaign.

We typically worked directly with one person on SEO and one person on PPC. However, there were multiple people on the vendor side that supporting our campaign.

Their professionalism and creativity really stand out. They are proactive in thinking of new ways to increase the metrics. This project was also tricky due to the nature of keywords. Tori is always on top of Google to get red flags removed.

One of our biggest hurdles is our lack of any true competitors. It's hard to see what others are doing or how to compete in the space when we are the entire space. They have been huge in crafting a small but exact group of targeted individuals. Through extensive negative keywords, we have managed to reduce the bounce rate and saved time on bad leads. Every month they produce content, infographics, and adjusted ad campaigns.

Over the course of our ad campaign with Social SEO, almost 10,000 new users clicked on our ads; average time on site was strong; CTR were double the industry average if not higher; and almost 4,000 users clicked through to our job board. It was a hugely successful campaign.

They are very responsive and very timely. The project management style is informal because their client is informal, but they have been uniformly professional.

They might consider a pricing model in which multiple domains could be incorporated under one umbrella.

When I joined Rocky Moutain Truck Centers our online marketing was not very well managed. Social SEOs team did a thurough assesment of our current effort, did market and keyword research, went to great leangths to eliminate the high rate of un-qualified responses to our online marketing, and inefficient spending. The transformation and results where remarkable, and they dilligently work, every month, to adapt and improve our ROI.

We had a new website created for us about 2 years ago but had done little to keep it updated and our Google rankings were declining. Our key requirements were to reverse this decline and again be seen on the first page of our most important key words, ideally in the top 3 positions.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We discussed our requirements with a small number of SEO companies. Price, commitment and responsiveness were our main selecting factors, all of which SocialSEO received top marks.

Together we created a list of of perceived top key words from our own site and our competitors. SocialSEO then revised many of our pages to feature those keywords more prominently and where they were missing - they created new content for us. In addition they were able to add specific information that "bots" are looking for to help boost our rankings. SocialSEO are working at least one step ahead of anything we could do - due to their knowledge of the algorithms used to create higher rankings.

We have mainly worked with one person from their team - a Digital Marketing Analyst, although we know he has used other people within their organization to produce content to add value as well.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

We are extremely happy with the response to the SEO program. Keywords have within the first 6 months show significant improvement and in general we rank across the board on the first page of our keyword searches. More work is still needed to keep moving up the rankings (trying to get into top 3). We are now looking at new markets and adding keywords and content that resonate in those as well.

We have weekly catch-up calls to review tasks completed and priorities for next period(s), including work they will do and input / additional resources that we can provide. Those calls typically last somewhere between 30 minutes to an hour. We receive monthly reports on period changes and changes from the beginning of the project, so we can see short term and total improvements.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

We enjoy knowing we are in the hands of experts and can let them guide us and make suggestions that we would probably have never thought of as regard to our website and its layout / content. Everything that they've promised has been delivered.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

As we progress we should have a call on "next steps" - some advice on improving our visibility even further perhaps using other services. I am not sure if this is standard procedure as we have not hit an anniversary yet - but would like to do that in March 2022.

During the research process in looking for a new marketing company, they reached out to me. Their track record in our industry was unique, as not many firms specialize in ag. Their service packages are all-encompassing what I needed and after a few conversations, I determined they would do what was asked without trying to upsell and push extra services.

While building these campaigns took longer than I had wished, the work was solid, KPI's were delivered weekly in each meeting, keeping all % in the green.

3 individuals work on our team, 1 for SEM, 1 for SMA and 1 for SEO. They had another team supervisor and strategist on for the first few weeks, but that dissipated after awhile.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

Site traffic increased, bounce rate dropped, search rankings have increased and our CPC has significantly dropped. We're conquesting competitors and getting a healthy return for our budget.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Highly effective with a very comfortable atmosphere. The team has a solid grasp on what needs to be done which works well with allowing them to do their job. THey communicate effectively to my team, and always include me in their movements.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

In a fully remote setting, they communicate and have a clear goal each week. They're very transparent in reporting, which is probably the most valuable aspect of their program.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Charge less, offer more services in SEO, include backlinks and additional content generation. Over time, this account will be easier for them, and it would be ideal to rachet their management fees according to work involved. But, you get what you pay for, and they have done the best for us, so not too much to complain about. Kill the ad spend fee, it's just another line item on the invoice to irritate accounting. Best to have 1 price.
