We hired ING for a complete redesign and rebuild of our flagship app, Stampshark. The previous version had been developed in-house and simply didn't feel or function professionally enough.

How did you select Ingsoftware and what were the deciding factors?

We found 3 software companies with the right skill sets and a local presence, checked all the online reviews and feedback we could before asking each for a proposal. We selected ING as their proposal showed a very good understanding of what we were trying to achieve at a price point comparable with the other quotes we'd received, and communication with them had been punctual, professional and friendly.

The scope of this project was to redesign the App and develop a cross-platform solution that will be available both on iOS and Android. The admin portal was also incorporated in the same App, and also added in subscriptions, in-app purchases, Google Ads, and a lot of improvements and new features in comparison to the current App.

It is hard to say exactly how many people worked on the project as almost all communication was routed through an ING project manager, however we had contact with design consultants, a software architect, multiple developers with different specialties, and testers.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

ING hit every single milestone through the whole project on time and on budget. With the design we were given a choice between options which were all of a high standard, the first release was issued on the day it was promised, and subsequent releases were all ahead of or on time, even when we made unscheduled changes to the specifications.

Highly professional project management, regular updates, and immediate repossess to queries. Feature changes & testing results were managed using Trello.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Not only were they a genuine one-stop-shop for everything from the design to the testing, but they brought passion for our project that I would not have expected to find outside of our own organisation.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

No. Since the completion of this project we have signed a new framework agreement for our next development project. We can't give a better reference than that.

We are a research institute engaged in the foundation of spin-off company based on an in-house developed technology. I am a senior scientist at the research institute (Empa) and CEO of the spin-off company (Urban Sympheny AG)

We hired Ingsoftware to develop a Web frontend and backend for our SaaS prototype, to enable the deployment of our technology as a SaaS solution.

What were your goals for this project?

The main goal of the project was to complete a MVP of our SaaS solution which can be presented to pilot customers for testing and validation.

How did you select this vendor?

We originally found them on Clutch, followed up by a detailed discussion of our requirements, and then requested an offer on the basis of which we made our decision.

At the start of the collaboration, we provided Ingsoftware with a detailed description of our requirements. In a first Discovery phase, we further iterated this set of requirements and Ingsoftware defined a development schedule. After this, development was initiated. We engaged Ingsoftware on a Time & Material basis for a period of ca. 3 months (6 sprints), with a focus on the Web frontend and backend development.

What was the team composition?

On the side of Ingsoftware, most of our interaction was directly with the project manager. The project manager in turn engaged 2-3 other developers for frontend and backed development.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

The results were very much in line with our expectations for this project. We really appreciated the effort and ability of the project manager to understand our requirements from a customer perspective, and to come up with well considered solutions aligned with our priorities. We have subsequently extended our contract with Ingsoftware for a second phase.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

Most of our communication with Ingsoftware was through a project manager. The project manager has done an excellent job managing the process and meeting the deadlines, and has been responsive to our requests and realistic in his time estimates for different features. The main tools used include Google Meet, Slack, Jira and Bitbucket.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

We were initially attracted to Ingsoftware for 2 reasons, their reasonable pricing and their track record of work with startups. In particular the latter of these has meant that we are able to align with Ingsoftware effectively on development priorities.

Not at this time.

I represent ACTIVIO International AB in Sweden and I´m the CEO. We are a IT solution company in the fitness and health segment. We provide performance tracking via heart rate and power measurements.

We started in small scale working with Ingsoftware by developing our mobile app for iOS and Android. After working together the years to come they also helped us to project lead the development as we did not have any CTO inhouse anymore.

The last 1,5 years 2018-2020 we developed a complete eco-system with a new desktop application, a new cloud service (Azure) and a new mobile app for iOS and Android (via Xamarin).

We had three inhouse developers, one front end, one backend and one CTO. They all helped us to choose the right partner. ING filled all fields in what we requested.

The development project is still ongoing, we have released the new desktop application into market together with the mobile application and cloud portal with huge success.

Me as CEO drw the guidelines together with our former CTO and after that ING was in lead via their team of Software Architect, their front and backend developers as well IU designers.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

We did increase the sales by end of 2019 and beginning of 2020 (Jan/Feb) after release and launching of the new solution.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

All services has been very well handled and well documented. We did very agile development for a long period of time, but with a clear dialogue, good proposals and SoW (Statement of work). During the development processes we used Trello, Skype, Hangouts and phone meetings to move the development process in the direction we wanted.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Feedback was prompt and requests were handled quickly. We have had access to both their management and their developers for support and adjustments. As a vendor they are high quality company with a good affordable level of development costs.

Not that we have encountered.

I am working with Ingsoftware on my startup for a year now. They are my team, tech-wise. Our collaboration started with the “Discovery phase” where they did a thorough analysis and research. Working with one of he best business analyst Nikola was amazing. He was very flexible and adapted the call always at my convenience even very late. Nikola had this patience to explain me the tech size of the app. The deliverable from the discovery part was a detailed software requirements specification document for my app (MVP). More than 120 pages. Thanks to this document I could clearly see the full scope of my project and what I want/don’t want to do. What we did since then: Design for a mobile app is done and is currently in InVision so I can use it to pitch my startup. One game is done and ready to play and I got the design for the other game. The presentational website is developed and online.

The design of the app still helps me to find investor and since the launch of the website, I have a lot of visit and a lot of positive feedbacks.

I am a Game designer, project leader and also founder of Webelinx. We develop casual free-to-play mobile games and diverse apps for daily use for Android and iOS. Our goal is to create the best high-quality apps and games for our users.

The first project we entrusted Ingsoftware with was web application development for internal administration.

After they had successfully developed our administration system, we realized what they were capable of doing and we tasked them with a big project we were planning on developing for years - a basketball management game.

I have been playing a certain basketball management game for more than 10 years and I always thought that its gameplay and functionalities needed large improvements.

Therefore we started to make plans for the game and we need a reliable and responsible team with great experience in the development of robust systems like this - a team which could materialize my idea.

Ingsoftware wrote the first line of the code for our game in March 2016 and our collaboration is still going strong to this day.

What were your goals for this project?

My first goal was to create MVP of the game - first playable web-based game. At the very beginning of our collaboration, we had been working on a UI/UX responsive design and creating web pages upon it.

The main goal and hardest part of the development process were making an engine that simulates entire basketball matches in prime detail. This engine is the core of the game and it had to work flawlessly so the game could be as life-like as possible.

The developers needed to come up with algorithms for the whole game. When using the interface of the app, users can manage players and tactics which would result in matching them with the best possible result.

Another big part where these algorithms are used is player trading. This turned out to be the most interesting part of the game for the users, so extra effort was put into making the system for real-time processing of player trading and open market system.

A large (invisible) part of the web app is an admin panel. This is an internal part of the game and only admins have access to it. Nonetheless, it is crucial for the game as the admins manage the details and finesse of the game day-to-day.

Admins have the ability to track statistics and monitor e-commerce tools. Other things that admins can manage are game settings, game news creation and cheat detection system. Thanks to the admin panel, the game is managed in the best way possible.

Another option that we wanted them to make is pro user accounts which had privileged access to special features. With pro users we needed in-game payments, so Ingsoftware made payment processing integrations for Google Pay, Paypal, Paymentwall and Fortumo.

One of the most important things in a game like this is developing time zone awareness and multi-language options, as our users are based all over the world and the game now supports more than 20 languages.

In addition to having the game in their language, users have matches scheduled in their local time which allows them to plan accordingly if they intend to watch the game live.

In order to handle substantial growth of user numbers, the game was designed and developed with scalability in mind and is currently using multiple servers so everything can work perfectly without any delays, slow loading or bugs.

All the goals that we set for Ingsoftware have been successfully met, so now we have a product that has a responsive design, the whole game has real-time processing of player trading and the matches are time-zone based with multi-language support.

The game has pro player accounts with premium features and in-game payment for multiple platforms. Back-end scalability was handled very well, so the game now works perfectly.

Platforms, coding languages and custom integrations which are used for our game are:

• Platforms: Web and Android at the moment
• iOS planned Tech Stack: NET, MS-SQL, JavaScript, Unity
• Custom integrations: SignalR for client-server communication (basketball match watching, player market live auctions, event notifications for the mobile app)

Having successfully developed and deployed the internal administration project for our company, we realized just how skillful and reliable Ingsoftware is. We acknowledged the high level of experience, resources and knowledge project managers, developers and designers have and decided to confide our MBT project to them.

Describe the project and the services they provided in detail.

MBT is a free online multiplayer basketball manager game in which the user takes charge of a virtual basketball club and manages all aspects of the club like: Players, Training, Tactics, Finances, Transfers, Facilities, etc.

In addition to just plain player management, the game includes handling player fatigue, injuries, firing, buying and selling, the game has many other options. Users have the option to train and level up their players and team and then decide if they’ll proceed to match rosters or trade on the transfer market. They can play friendly matches via the invitation system, or by using an automated matchmaking feature.

Every club has its own appearance - they can use their creativity and make custom-designed team emblems and jerseys or buy an existing jersey from the shop which has a wide selection of pre-made jerseys.

The My Basketball Team game has Regional Leagues, Champions League and National basketball competitions. Every user participates in one National competition, but only a small selection of best teams make it to the Champions League.

The most successful 32 teams in each country that didn't make it to Champions League are participating in a similar competition, Regional League in which they compete against teams from their geographical region.

Every user has insights in statistics - they have the option to monitor their and opponents’ match and player statistics, competition success and player transfer history. With these insights players can strategically manage the game and decide how to play and where to invest.

Speaking of finances, MBT has a finance management option where every expense and earning is monitored and contracts can be managed. Buying TV rights can significantly affect the user’s playstyle.

Another thing that will significantly influence the success of the player are facilities. There are various facilities that can be built to help the club grow.

• In Arena users have chance to upgrade the capacity of arena and earn more income from tickets and merchandise
• Youth Academy offers a rookie scouting option once per week so users can recruit a young talented player to join their ranks
• Training Facility gives users the ability to unlock higher level of skill training and upgrade players even more
• Medical Facility provides an opportunity for advanced medical care of players and reduce injury duration
• Rest & Recovery Facility serves a purpose of managing player fatigue
• Entertainment Facility exists for player form management.

Ingsoftware developed the Administration panel for internal use. This panel contains various game statistics and e-commerce monitoring tools, game settings, game news creation and cheat detection system.

Admin panel helps us track the game and make sure that everything is in order and the game is cheat free. I am the Project Owner and my team and I were the ones who planted the seed for this project.

We came up with the idea and delivered the design and Ingsoftware’s part in this project was to provide Strategy, Web Design, development and support. We collaborated every step of the way and communicated without any problems. Any bugs or misunderstandings we solved without any fuss and in the fastest way possible.

A total of 15 people worked on my project. The team was made of 7 back-end developers, 2 front-end developers, 4 Unity developers and 2 Web designers.

The project works great and we have more and more users every day. We create a very active game community, which was our goal for this year.

Our teams worked as one and collaborated on a daily basis without any problems. We find their team responsive and accurate in communication, and their project management is excellent! Tools which we used in collaboration are Trello, Skype and Google Tools (Gmail, Drive, Docs, Sheets).

Our goal was to develop a software that would reliably reproduce the functionalities of the older system. We wanted a stable system that would be easy to maintain. In addition, we had a very short timeline.

Since the project was such a high priority, it was essential to choose a results-driven partner who could also provide reliable support.

They quickly stabilized the platform, with most of the bugs and problems resolved within the first few months. A lot of the improvements were suggested by the development team during key sprints. Now, our software is more optimized and automated. It has less errors, provides better reports, and helps us in everyday business. Given how well they performed, we extended our engagement with INGSOFTWARE.

Compared with our previous vendor, their project management was very impressive. There were no delays and all of our deadlines were met. In addition to regular emails, we communicated via Skype and used Jira. They were responsive and highly professional. They also communicated well with our previous PM, which was a big plus.

I'm the CEO of a technology company that brings performance metrics to youth soccer coaches in the U.S. and abroad.

What challenge were you trying to address with INGSOFTWARE?

We used ING for two projects. We first worked with them to produce an iOS mobile application that communicates with the Beyond Pulse smart belt to capture performance metrics from players. We're currently working on a second project to create a database and improve the coach dashboard.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

The hardware is a belt with a sensor module worn on the players' chest just below their breastbone. The module has both a heart rate sensor and an accelerometer to capture data while the player goes through a practice session. At the end of the session, the app sucks up the data from multiple players into a local storage location on the iPhone. We feed that data into a database in the cloud. An API interprets that data and delivers it to the coach dashboard so that it’s represented in a useful way.

What is the team composition?

We have little insight into the team behind the project manager, but I believe there are three developers.

How did you come to work with INGSOFTWARE?

They were recommended to us by the provider of the smart belt hardware.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent about $50,000–$60,000 so far but the whole project will likely be north of $200,000 dollars.

What is the status of this engagement?

We began working with them in August of 2017. It's an ongoing relationship; in fact, it's an increasing relationship.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

I'm not technical enough to tell you what underlying technology they used, but I know the challenge in dealing with the smart belt was pretty significant. They’ve managed to get the performance metrics to a point where we're happy with the product as are the end users.

How did INGSOFTWARE perform from a project management standpoint?

The biggest strength in working with ING is our project manager, who is one of the one of the best I've ever dealt with. Originally we used just email and Skype to communicate with them. We’ve since begun communicating via Slack and that's working particularly well.

The level of project management is some of the best—if not the best—I've ever seen.

Ing’s team was initially hired to conduct Technical Due Diligence on the app because we were getting ready to go live with the MVP version but wanted to have a second opinion from an experienced software development firm.

They found 13 important security vulnerabilities and that an older version of NodeJS was used (a version that became deprecated on January 30, 2024). They also provided several important recommendations for future development, which made us confident that their team could handle our MVP launch.

So the project was continued so Ing’s engineers could implement the necessary changes and finalize the MVP version of the app. This included resolving all the security issues and implementing a newer nodeJS version. The MVP version was successfully launched in April 2024.
