Before meeting with multiple vendors, I checked out websites from other fitness facilities throughout the country and pieced together pages, ideas and things I liked. We are a small business, when meeting with vendors, pricing was a big talking point. Our project was not very complex, so pricing and the overall time it will take to finish the project was key. Geeks Root was good with both of those factors.

Our initial call with Geeks Root, I went over everything we were trying to accomplish with the new website. The sales rep took clear notes of our wants & needs. Once we were ready to move forward, I was introduced to an onboarding team that helped me the rest of the way. Through that time, I would send emails for changes on the site and they were made within the hour usually.

The communication between the onboarding team and myself is great. If one of my requests was not completely clear to the team, a call would happen to further discuss.

Our site hasn't launched yet, but based off of what I am seeing with the new website it will allow our advertising & marketing to come full circle through social media and our website. As well as allow our customers a simpler and another avenue to make purchases.

The project manager lets you know every step and what's going on along the way. They really leave it up to you the customer to determine how fast you want this project done, if you the customer are dragging your feet or get busy they reach out and help you continue along the process.

I thought the troubleshooting integrating our business application into the website was impressive as it wasn't one of the most popular apps used in the fitness industry, so we made them do a little homework, but it was able to be integrated which was a deciding factor. Also, the idea of expansion in our business by adding locations, we built a site that can be grown as we do.

I think the whole process was great and they are doing a great job. Any other technology projects we have in the future, Geeks Root will be my first phone call.

We also gave them the necessary credentials to that they can start making requests to various resources through the API. Our cart system uses PHP scripting and MYSQL database system. For this project they had to use JSON, XML and Java Script

Once the project was completed we were able to display accurate inventory on our website, our prices were also automatically updated relative to the cost. And we were able to import new products automatically.

We developed written specifications, then we had a video call to explain and demonstrate integration points with our system. The call was recorded and probably used to brief the vendors internal team of developers. Periodically we would be asked to review progress and make comment. Once the bulk of the work was done, we started a round of testing, followed by necessary tweaks, and so on, until the work was done.

They recorded our explanation which was done via screen sharing tool. This probably saved a lot of back and forth and reduced the number of misunderstandings. They completed the project without problems.
